First of all, they increased my premium at least 3...

First of all, they increased my premium at least 3 times since I started the policy, with no form of contact or communication as to why. Of course I tried calling but it was too much of a hassle waiting over 30 minutes on hold each time I called. After the last increase, which ultimately was over 40 dollars more than when I started the policy, I went in to their agency office, A-Max and signed a cancellation request, at which point they owed me a prorated refund for the remaining days of the policy that had been paid. The representative said it would take about 2 weeks, and even though I was set up on auto draft, they would mail me a check instead of refunding it back the way they received it. So I waited. And waited. And waited. Still no refund and they've charged me 2 additional times. And I can't speak to them directly, I have to speak to A-Max and then they have to call me back. Both experiences with A-Max and Gainsco have been HORRIBLE. I've contacted the Texas Department of Insurance. Shop around. I found better rates with a more reputable company.

I paid for a policy for the first month, on a car ...

I paid for a policy for the first month, on a car that I never had possession of. When I was told that there was an issue with the car, I called Gainsco insurance company immediately. They told me in order to cancel the policy, I needed to send a letter via email to them from the dealership stating that I ve never had possession of the car. After I did that, I was then told that I needed to have the letter sent over again, this time in PDF form. Unfortunately the dealership was unable to send an acceptable email so that I could send to Gainsco, I sent the 2nd emailed letter to them anyway. They wouldn t except any of the forms that were sent to them. I was told that if I canceled the policy without the letter, I would be Charged against what I paid for the time that I was covered, plus my states 10% penalty. The Representative told me that he did not know how much the remaining balance to me would be at the time. He would not know that amount, until after the policy was canceled. I went ahead with the cancellation, and then was sent a letter for cancellation, no check for the remaining balance in sight. I called Gainsco auto insurance back, to let them know that I received a cancellation letter but nothing stating what I would be refunded. I was then told that I was charged what I paid, +10% for my state s cancellation penalty, but the 10% was charged against the six-month policy, not the month of coverage. I was also told that I would have received an insurance jacket , explaining the cancellation terms, something that I ve never received. They had me on hold for almost an hour, probably hoping that I would hang up. I asked for a recording of that conversation, stating that I was told I would be charged 10% against the 6 month policy. I was then told that regardless of the conversation that was recorded, even if it was not mentioned, that I was sent the insurance jacket, that would have explained it... And there was nothing that can be done to reverse it. They are THE WORST!!!

If you have to file any type of claim good luck ever getting ahold of anyone after it s filed. filing the claim and getting our vehicle in the shop was the easy part. the shop found more damage and contacted our appraisal guy who took over a week to respond. our rental was never extended despite multiple phone calls and emails and our 30 days not being up. It has been the most stressful, costly, and worst experience ever. I do not recommend.

I am a first time care owner and have recently bought an affordable insurance plan from Gainsco. I was expecting some robotic transaction from a scripted agent, but instead I was warmly recieved and guided by a pleasant and professional representative by the name of Johhny Garcia. When I plan on upgrading my car and insurance plan, it'll be by both Gainsco and Johnny Garcia. I would recommend the company.

If I could give them negative stars I would! One of their policy holders rear ended me at 60 mph while I was stopped at a red light on Cinco de Mayo. It's been almost 3 weeks, investigator for their company deemed my car a total loss. I still don't know who my adjuster is, I've been without a car and they won't even tell me if I can get a rental. Nobody ever calls me back! TRASH!

Very easy very helpful it quickly handled my situation. Johnny Garcia was my agent on the phone with me that helps me quickly get the policy that I needed and was able to drive 10 minutes after hanging up without any issues. Answered all my questions and was very knowledgeable.

If you get Ms. Luz on the line, You will experience the best customer service hands down!!! Luz apologized for reps that did not satisfy my concerns and she addressed them. Luz also received additional support from her Manager to make sure I was happy. I am so thankful for Luz knowing her job and knowing it well!! Toward the end of our conversation, she asked if it was okay to see how to save me some money on my policy. I immediately said yes, especially now that my savings is gone from the pandemic. When she came back on the line and told me my new rate.....I simply cried!!! I can not thank her enough and thank you Gainsco for allowing Luz to be a value added agent to your company!

This company is horrible!!! Every month I have been charged a different amount then what I was originally told, and when I call customer service EVERY MONTH they tell me a different price as well and try to give me an "estimate" of what my next bill will be which is also wrong. Their customer service is horrible and can never solve my issues. I would not recommend them to anyone. Also their auto pay deal is all screwed up, it did not come out twice like it was supposed to so I was charged a late fee and eventually had to get my insurance renewed

Josue Trejo was great!! Very professional and helpful. I had a major problem with my old insurance company and I tried for days to pay my premium and couldn't get ahold of anybody in the office or technical support or make a payment online so I had no choice but to seek new insurance so there wasn't a lapse in my coverage and Josue Trejo was absolutely wonderful he helped me get new coverage at a lower rate and was very professional and polite and I thank him very much for his service. Great insurance company. Might take a minute to get through (mainly because I don't know the correct number) but they are always happy to help. Able to get you information to you within minutes either through text, call, fax or email. Great company! And that's saying something because I usually end up fussing at the insurance companies. Lol Check them out.

I call constantly never answers. My policy expired in 09/2020 and I am currently being charged a new price with out any notice of it being renewed or any permission to take money out of my account I m not even sure what this money is being taking out for If only they answer so I can get answers no call to see if I even wanted to renew no email no documents sent with current policy how am I supposed to prove I have insurance?

Gainsco seems to go's above duty to nickel & dime you out of your money, I mail payment five day to due date next month statement late fee, ok i went to agent made that payment & placed c-card on file three days later recived recorded msg about none payment went back to agent ,,gainsco had my payment pending ,Hmm Mr pettaway peepn your game. What away to a cure late fees.

Horrible. At first I thought it was great because of how low it was but i had to cancel early because the car i was sold was bad. So i felt it didn't make sense to have the insurance. I have been given the complete run around as far as canceling and getting my money back goes. When I called on separate occasions I was greeted by rude people telling me lies. At one point I was told I wouldn't be charged an early cancellation fee, then from another call I was told I was but it was only going to be 10% which annoyed me but wasn't a problem,then when I called again because the numbers weren't adding up I got transferred 6 times in one call and every person I spoke to lied and when I would tell them what the other agent said I would get transferred. When I first tally got a diagnostic more then 50% of my payment was taking out and when asked why nobody could answer me. Then I was told it was take only a week to receive my funds. It is now been over 3 weeks and everytime I call it's almost impossible to reach somebody. I called today to figure out where my money is and a lady name Michele answered after waiting 40 mins said they just mailed it today. When I was told 3 weeks ago it was already mailed. I'm over this company and I'm reporting to the BBB for fraud because this is just ridiculous!

This car insurance company will rob you. My payments started as 130 dollars a month, which is why I chose this company because they re the cheapest one I could find. I am a young about to be college student with a low paying job and it is crazy that over a course of a month they kept telling me that I was late on my payments (WHICH I WAS NOT) and would double charge me. Now my payments are 300 dollars. When I tried calling their customer service I was on hold for an hour. It is absolutely ridiculous. Do not choose this company. They re a fraud and will steal your money.

Very rude. They got my address wrong on my insurance card and I called back several times to get another with the correct address and still haven't recieved it. One guy asked me why did I need it and was it for the Dmv. This is one of the few problems that I had with them.

This company is as terrible as it gets. You have to go through hell and high water to cancel your policy, and wait forever for your refund. This company is stuck in the stone age with their procedures. There s no one to talk to after 5pm or on the weekends. By the way I m still waiting on my refund. Throw this whole company away.

I got hit by a Gainsco insured driver several months ago...the initial repair process and service were fine. I picked the repair shop, "cosmetic" damage necessitated a door panel skin to be replaced on front/back passenger's side and Gainsco paid the bill.

I was planning to sell the car prior to the accident and had been offered $22-23K by several dealers, now I'm being offered $19K or less. I made it clear to the Gainsco staff that I wanted Diminished Value. They told me they would process the DV claim after all the repairs were done. The rub?! The guy I was sent to that "handled DV claims" said he'd be in touch, 2-3 weeks later nothing. He finally calls me, after my persistent chasing, to tell me that it would take 6-8 weeks to process the claim because he's the only one in Gainsco that does it. Months went by, I left voice messages, texts, nothing!

Yesterday, I called his supervisor and surprisingly, the adjuster calls me today and says..."we're not obligated to pay DV claims, so we're denying your request." Why was I told throughout the process, it would be handled afterwards? Why did it take MONTHS to come to that determination.

They turned a good experience into a pain the butt experience!

The adjuster just called me today and said they won't pay what I'm entitled to under Texas Law.
