GAINSCO Review

My experience with Brad Hagen was exceptional. He is very personable , a good listener, knowledgeable of Gainsco auto policies, and communicated with me extremely well. I would recommend Gainsco to my family and friends.

These people are monsters, they will make you jump through millions of hoops to cancel a policy.

I had them for a few months and randomly got a letter of cancellation in the mail, I then got a different car policy from a separate company. A few weeks go by and I get a letter from these fraudulent monsters saying my policy was reinstated. I then get charged, I call them and get the charge removed and have to send a fax cancellation to complete my escape from their policy.
Then today I find another letter in my mail saying my policy is still going, I call and explain only to be told I have to email them my new policy and a letter of cancellation. This is a nightmare.

It was quick and easy also they helped me to find a super low quote! Johnny was absolutely remarkable! I have no complaints what so ever!

I was on hold for over an hour, to be transferred and put on hold for another 30 minutes. Then they wanted to say my insurance was going to up to 907.00 a month, got it cheaper through Allstate.

I would not even give 1 star but it made me, worst company ever! They quoted on 2 vehicles supposedly then after I paid my premium they only sent over the policy including 1 vehicle. It's WAY more expensive for the 2 vehicles than any other company. Took them 1 day to take money out of my account now it will be over a week before I can request a refund and on top of that 1 have to pay a 10% cancelation fee!

Excellent customer service! A few more hours top jump through than my past insurance company when adding a vehicle, but you can't beat their prices!!! Amazing!@

I spoke to Sales Representative named "Yusimi Grillo". She was very friendly and patient with me, I have never experienced this customer care service before. I have had other auto insurance with other insurance companies before I joined Gainsco but I paid double the price of the same car. All I can said there's is no other auto insurance that can beat Gainsco. Gainsco is here to help and not to bankrupt you.

The cost of my policy is far less then some of the other companies when I was shopping around for a policy. The reps are always pleasant to talk to you.
I just wish the online site was more accessible for customers. I would like to be able to login and pull my dec page, ID cards, etc when needed instead of having to call or wait for the mail.

someone insured under this company backed into me, the driver took full responsibility, but the company seemed to act like it was my fault. fast forward they sent me an estimate, their estimate was $950 well, we went to a local body shop and it was much closer to $3000. well 2 months later and my car is about to come out of the shop and the company has yet to pay for the repair. I got a call several weeks before telling me payment had been made. well that was a lie because when we call Desire to find out why we haven't received payment, she won't answer, no matter the time of day. Gainsco, you need to look into firing Desire because of how unprofessional, rude, and hateful she was during this whole process

This is a fraud insurance company. They lied to me and said my car was totaled and then changed their mind and repaired my car with cheap salvage parts! Their unprofessional and dishonest. Stay away from this company!

I am extremely upset! I called the company because my premium jumped from $138 to $479, they proceeded to say that an additional driver was added (without my consent) because this individual whom I do not know used my address. Therefor he was a possible driver and was added. When I clarified that he was not living here nor did he drive any of our vehicles they said they would exclude him. I asked if I would be refunded the extra $300 dollars charged and they said there was no guarantee. I m upset that they would just add someone and charge me over $300 without talking to me. Worst company ever! I wish I could give it 0 stars! Plus thanks for the 30 minute wait to talk to someone only to help me with absolutely nothing! I will definitely be taking my services else where.

UNSCRUPULOUS. If you're the kind of person who seeks to shirk your responsibilities and you have no Integrity then this is the insurance company for you. You probably have been rejected by all other insurance companies and gainsco is your last resort. gainsco will back you up 100% in being a scumbag that shouldn't be driving in the first place. They are, without question, the lowest of the low. All of these five star ratings you are reading are from people who probably get in numerous wrecks All of which are most likely from their own negligence.

Johnny Garcia at GAINSCO did a great job providing me with the information concerning my insurance needs. He was friendly and knowledgeable. Buying insurance has never been easier. Pricing was the best I found anywhere. It was a great experience all around.

I AM CHOOSING ONE STAR BECAUSE YOU HAVE TO PICK AT LEAST ONE TO LEAVE COMMENT. 10 DAYS DOZEN REQUESTS FOR POLICY DOCUMENTS SINCE EFFECTIVE 3/16/19 YET TO RECEIVE A SINGLE RESPONSE FROM C/S OR AGENT. JUST THE AUTO RESPONSE TO MY EMAILS GIVING ME THEIR PHONE # WHICH I CALLED 2X AND STILL NO RESULTS. SET UP ONLINE ACCOUNT AND CANT OPEN A SINGLE DOCUMENT. THE ONLY DOC I HAVE IS THE INSURANCE CARD FOR MY CAR WHICH TOOK 6 EMAILS TO GET YET NO POLICY SPECS, NO PREMIUM BREAKDOWN AND NO UPDATE ON PREMIUM. POLICY WAS ISSUED WITH ERROR ON THEY MADE AND MY PREMIUM DECREASED OVER $20 PER MONTH????

Johnny Garcia at Gainsco Auto Insurance was an amazing. Even though I was doing multiple things he was willing to call me back and was patient.

I definitely am not the one to be negative, but GAINSCO was not a very good auto insurance company to go through. My minimum state liability insurance was $258 a month with $368 for a down payment. Note that I am 19, and do have a wreck and violation that I am at fault for, but I ended up going to Allstate and only paying $150 a month with a $200 down-payment for minimum liability auto and renters insurance altogether. Another thing I would like to note is that when attempting to call GAINSCO, there was never a day I would hold less than 10 minutes on a call for an agent to discuss my reasons for calling. They provide little to no discounts and were not interested in helping me lower my monthly payment. Maybe this insurance company just was not ideal for me and my situation, but I do recommend searching for better quotes beforehand and definitely do NOT bet on GAINSCO as your first option.

It was very easy getting a quote and getting started. I was on the phone for less than 20 minutes .thank you guys for good and fast service .

This Insurance company is a joke! A client of theirs rear ended me and it has been nothing but an inconvenience and battle for me to get my vehicle taken care of! Not to mention that they refuse to pay the rental car balance!! DID THIS COMPANY FORGET THAT I AM THE VICTIM IN THE ACCIDENT THEIR CLIENT CAUSED!?!?! What a horrible company!!! Horrible customer service!!! And the victim is treated like they are the guilty party!! If you are looking for a auto insurance company stay far far away!!! If you are a victim and the other party uses this company, be ready for a battle! What A bunch of crooks!!

I got hit by someone who has this insurance and when a Gainsco representative contacted me to hear my side of the story they were so rude! Accusing me of having fault for their careless driver! Especially when the other vehicles involved accused their driver in the police report. I understand that they need to open up their own investigation, but no need to be so rude and aggressive. What is the point of having people work for your company if they have terrible customer service, they just make your company look like total trash.

So far... very disappointed with my service from LaShonte and Timothy Morris. I imagine it will only worsen from here. Their insured motorists hit my parked vehicle and it's been terrible. They are being cheap on a rental, they want to give you a tiny downgrade. And the manager, LaShonte just wants to excuse Mr. Morris for ignoring phone calls or emails. I will be glad when this is over and I dont have to deal with this company or these representatives. I wish I could leave half of a star.

Hi Gainsco. I've had a non-owner auto insurance with your company for almost two years now and i need clarity on my insurance cause i barely get you guys on phone. My question is "Does my non-owner auto insurance covers me to drive a car without a valid auto insurance and VIN number on it as long as it's not registered in my name and address of my non owner insurance?" Im asking this because i took a friend's car to the DmV for a driving test with my proof of non-owner insurance car that should ordinarily cover me since im driving a car thats not mine, and it was rejected because it didnt have the VIN number of the car on it. Looking forward to your response.

This company specializes in writing subprime insurance. Hopefully, you never have to deal with their claims process & department if you are ever hit by one of their insureds as is the unfortunate case for me. Their claims handling process lacks communication and follow-up on top of very poor customer service. Fortunately in my case, no one was injured and the auto damage was fairly nominal (around $4k).

Their insured's work van backed into my company's new pick up truck and the driver along with all the passengers quickly jumped out of the van and fled the scene. Clearly, the owner of the van was either in the vehicle or had given permission to the gentlemen to use it for work as the men were on their lunch break at the time. An accident report was filed by police using the insurance card found in the vehicles and their insured was named the only party at-fault (along with the police filing a hit and run report).

The due diligence performed by Gainsco was poorly lacking of "diligence' similarly to their customer service. After a couple of months and lack of responses to my follow-up inquires, I received a letter via email stating, "there is no coverage for this loss or that this is not a covered loss on the policy" with no further explanation provided other than for me to contact my own insurance company to report the claim.

I understand this situation may be a grey area but is created by Gainsco as their target market is generally lower grade policies for higher risk drivers. On top of providing poor customer service during the claims resolution process and not thoroughly investigating the claim.

Someone else referenced on another review the fact that they make it "legal" for individuals to drive uninsured or under-insured that otherwise would not be able to drive at all; And after my experience I would certainly agree that seems to be the case on all accounts. They should be investigated and shut down.

This company is not easy to contact them and more when you have an accident I was marking and marking and until now I could not contact them later they blame one because it does not mark them instantly that I had an accident

When I was trying to find a good insurance for my car, Gainsco was the right choice. Great rates, easy and wonderful service. Thank you Johnny Garcia for your polite, easy and caring customer Service!

Worst insurance ever never got an answer nor call back my car was stolen was on hold from 8am till 1pm I am highly disappointed none of the numbers work systems so called been down for what 3 days went to their office no one was there just don t get this insurance

If I could give ZERO stars I would!! Ppl work too hard for their money!! I was pleased with this company, until this morning when I woke up. I moved to another state, called and canceled the insurance I had with them almost 3 wks ago. I got up this morning only to see they had taken the money out of my account for a canceled policy, I ve already paid for my insurance in another state. (Mind you I didn t keep this policy when I moved to Fl because it went from $125 a month to over $500, for them to provide out of state ins) I have contacted my bank, filed a claim against them, and contacted Gainsco..... by phone and email, only to be ignored.

Fake company, scam! nobody answers the phones, nobody helps, no one answers, scam! one of its drivers hit my car and fled leaving my car damaged and this company seems to never exist, scam!

I worked with David from the Texas Branch and he was amazing. Getting my first car I thought this process was going to be long and complicated. David made sure I was comfortable, not rushed and that I understood the process. He was very patient with me and found me the best rate out of all the insurance companies I looked through.
