This is a great place for not just current games, but also old school games! We sold our old Turbo Graphics console and got a great price out of it! My only wish is that they would have more stores in the U.S.. Regardless, I love this place! Check it out as soon as possible!

Customer service is rude. They cancelled my trade in order saying I was trying to make a profit which I was not! I accidentally put the same twice. I have been a customer with them for about 3 to 4 years. I have never had any incident with trying to make a profit my trading in games that I am done playing. They could have just let me know by email that they could only accept one copy of a game even though their policy allows for 2 of the same game. "We can only accept up to 2 copies of the same game per customer for trade-ins. If you would like to trade-in more than 2 of the same game, please contact us before placing an order." They cancelled my order and told me to resend the item. The game is already on its way but I am not going to get what I originally was set to get but an amount significantly less. I believe this is the real reason they cancelled my order. I used them because they give a bit more than GameStop sometimes. I started to use Mercari for selling my games. It allows people to negotiate which I like. I get more money selling my games to individuals than trading in my games for pennies. I will no longer be using Estarland. I will be cashing out the remaining amount of credit I have with them.

I used to call eStarland to ask for item condition on games I m interested in buying online and they used to happily check. Now every time I call, I speak to a guy who gives endless reasons on why he can t check the item. I use to order a lot online from them because of them being able to give more information. However with this new customer service style I definitely won t.

eStarland has a big selection of retro and modern games as well as accessories. You can find imports and even game guide books. On Saturdays a cheaper section opens up that has games, consoles, and accessories. I personally have picked up a Dreamcast and GameCube from the budget section.
If you do ask for something in the back, it can take a while. Checkout is a little slow due to the amount of people. But do not think that the shelves are always busy. Arcade machine are also available for those who want to play ( Not for purchase ).

Serving gamers since 1991. Huge selection of new & used video games from Atari to Nintendo Switch. Best trade-in values on the planet. While trying to listen to music, I also have the game sound playing. Is there any way you could make it so we can turn the sound of game slopex unblocked off?

Great video game store i have een buying from their online store since like 2008 2009 i have an overall good experience with the video games i have bought fair prices amazing selection but the only problem i had with them on three times i bought half life for ps2 they sent me half life 2 for xbox and i never received my money back on the return its no big deal it was only like around 7 dollars this was years ago so im over it then at one point i bought an n64 and i received it not packed well at all the system was broken and then the third time i bought an xbox 360 system and it didnt work i paid about 90 bucks for it or something and there was no way for me to return it and so i traded it in gamestop and got a measly 15 bucks for it ridiculous but overall estarland is a good store worth checking out

Its a very nice to place to get old games and new ones. The staff are kind and friendly. They also have the best trade in values in the planet. If you buy used items there they give you a 90 day warranty. If you get used games they come in very nice condition. i got an orginal Gameboy and Nintendo 64 used in very good condition and they work perfectly. I recommenced you to go to this store if you live near Chantilly VA.

Haven't been here in a few years. Trade in process now is way better with a drop off station in back. Traded in about a gran worth of stuff over the course of a few weeks. Everyone really friendly. Girl with the glasses that works during the day always greets people when they come in. Awesome place

As a gamer this is retro gaming paradise. I go here just to window shop and reminisce. The definitely have a selection of past consoles and games that you won't find anywhere else! And the staff is pretty cool too :)

Really unique store that has just about any video game you're looking for. Want to relive your favorite PlayStation 2 game again? Guarantee you that eStarland has it. They also offer great trade-in values, so check them out if you're feeling ripped off by GameStop, Amazon, etc. They also have an assortment of other things such as anime figurines and other bits of geek culture merchandise. eStarland is a super cool place and I'm glad it exists!

They have a huge selection and everything is priced reasonably, and competitively. My only real complaint is that I wish there were more computer stations/price check kiosks because it can get a little crowded, and having to wait around to check a price kinda sucks. But that's about it.

If ever there is a game I need, I always check E-Starland. They have the BIGGEST selection in used games and merchandise in the area...hands down (just look at the picture, that's only 1/3 of the store!) With season events like Gamer's Exchange where people can "yard sale" their games/gear, this is a great place.

Prices can be a bit expensive but the market fluctuates quite a bit (I'm a game flipper myself). From anime/game figures, game guides, games, and general game merchandise and apparel, they have it all and almost everything is for sell....except that Tales of Vesperia wall scroll I asked for :(

A great place for gamers. They have an incredibly upfront and honest method of purchasing used games. You make a list online with prices being based on what you have (manual, box, etc). The game selection is incredible and includes older console games.

Terrible experience, waited in line (~40min) to only be told I had to come back after creating an account for the games I wanted to trade in...refused to help in store. The employees appeared disoriented and had multiple customer disappointments occur during my visit. Not a good way to help a first time visitor/customer. Rather go to gamestop where they at least try and help...

It s painfully obvious that the staff has given up here. There is a fantastic selection of retro game carts and hardware that is ruined by its disorganization and apathy from employees. I spent half an hour trying to catch the eye of anyone to ask them a question about a specific clone device - not one of the half dozen employees would look up from their work or address any of the customers (many who were obviously looking for some help - either with stacks of trade-ins in hand or questionably looking at and passing the same aisle over and over again.) I can t imagine the huge volume of missed sales that walk through the doors everyday.

An excellent place to go when looking for older games (or even newer ones). They have a trade in program similar to that of GameStop or Best Buy, but without the hassle and horrendous prices. eStarland will take your trades for any system, not just the current ones. They sell new and used games for every system, statues, arcade cabinets, guide books, etc. It's a good place to find that collectors edition you may have missed too. The prices are also structured according to the games condition. For example, if you don't care about the manual or case coming with the game, you could save a few bucks by getting one without that. All items are tested and guaranteed to be working.

Best video game/ retro gaming store, I would recommend to anyone the only thing that is a little setback is that they do not carry pc games but other than that this place has every thing from gxc auctions to Nintendo power and Atari 2600 to ps4. Would very highly recommend this place if you are debating to go or buy online go buy your gaming needs. Btw I am no way endorsed or affiliated with estarland I am just a happy customer

I bought a ps2 slim off the website and it was filthy. Someone spilled liquid on the top and let it dry before cleaning it. There was a small roach when I unwound the power adapter. Openings were dusty and the usb port openings were brown with dirt. I could tell it was dirty and if i left it like that it would not last long. I opened it up and dissassembled it. The fan needed to be cleaned with canned air because the blades were caked with dirt. The motherboard and other components were dusted and cleaned with alcohol. I had to wash the plastic case with soap and water to remove dirt on the inside as well. What is the point of wrappping things in plastic if they are in crappy condition? Its screw ups like these that make me second guess this store and i end up shopping on ebay.

Have to write this as I am very pleased with my eStarland experience.

I own a PS4 Pro and anyone else who owns it knows about the noise issue it creates. It gets loud like a jet engine and it gets really hard to play. Sometimes it overheats the console as well and gives a warning which is definitely alarming.

I contacted eStarland and gave them the console which they diagnosed and returned it because according to them it was clean. Not going to to lie it kinda made me mad because this did not solve the problem I had at all. So I ended up doing more research and contacted them for a second time for fan and thermal paste replacement as replacing them would make the PS4 Pro quieter.

This time when I went there I complained to one of the techs about getting the console back without any significant progress. He explained that "They usually to do not repair consoles if they physically appear to be fine because getting it repaired from them voids Sony's warranty." This was indeed a valid explanation and this time I told them to go ahead and change both the fan and thermal paste which would costs me a little over $100.

They took time, analyzed the console and only replaced the thermal paste saving me $64 on the fan replacement and it did the job. My PS4 Pro is very quiet now and I can finally enjoy playing games while not being bothered by it.

Yes it took around 2 weeks but I am really happy with the service, considerate behavior of the techs and the overall experience eStarland offers.

Highly recommend this place to everyone over the likes of GameStop.

Also if you have a loud PS4 Pro, you know what you need to do now.

Do not go to Sony for thermal paste replace as they will charge $100 + shipping for it.

Far out of the way from Silver Spring, but this place was great for retro gaming vibes and also kind of feels like Super Potato in Akihabara in Japan. I think that's what they were going for. With the closure of many funcolands and GameStops, I think this nostalgia niche can survive. They had a ton of old games and systems, and do repairs. Cool spot.

Have had my item for repair since October 30th, nov 9th the finally say they dont have the parts to fix it and haven't responded to an email since. Even though the parts necessary can be bought on ebay right now. What a joke

While the website leaves something to be desired, the selection and trade in system are excellent. The website is indeed the heart of the store though, as prices are not displayed on the items and some items may not be in the spot you think, but browsing around the storefront and looking at what rare games are in the cases is fun. The staff is also energetic, helpful, and fair.

Customer service sucks in person, over the phone and online. Brought my son ps4 in for a repair told me 2-5 days did not get back for 2 weeks. Only reason gave them 2 stars is because the cleaned the system for free. Will not use this business again.

I love the place and how it has old retro games for a low price no where else has but it's over the phone service is trash. I waited over 20 min on hold then was hung up on before anyone picked up.

You know they say all men are created equal. But you look at me and you look at Samoa Joe and you can see that statement is not true. See, normally if you go one on one with another wrestler, you got a 50-50 chance of winning. But I'm a genetic freak and I'm not normal. So you got a 25 per cent - at best - to beat me. And then you add Kurt Angle to the mix, your chances of winning drastically go down. You see, the three way at Sacrifice you got a 33 and 1/3 chance of winning. But I, I got a 66 and 2/3 chance of winning cause Kurt Angle knows he can't beat me and he's not even gonna try. So Samoa Joe, you take your 33 and 1/3 chance, minus my 25 per cent chance and you got an 8 and 1/3 chance of winning at Sacrifice. But then you take my 75 per cent chance of winning if it goes one on one and then add the 66 and 2/3 per cent chance, I got a 141 and 2/3 chance of winning at Sacrifice. See Joe, the numbers don't lie and they spell disaster for you at Sacrifice.

They have a massive selection of lots of video games but only one thing killed my hype about this place. Nothing has prices. You have to use the estarland wifi and websight to check prices and every time I scanned an item, its said "connect to store wifi" even though I was. They do have a computer self check but their was so many people it was hard to look up the price of one thing. I wanted to buy somthing cool from there but ended up not due to this issue. Overall though what a cool place and if I needed and really wanted a game I would chose to go here vs. Gamestop.

A great place to get your retro needs in store. Be prepared to be more on their site then "in the store" though as this is basically their warehouse and it is set up as such. Nothing is priced in store, you have to look it up. Also, if you are asking about something g or picking up an order in the back, be prepared to wait 10-15 minutes while they find it.

Overall Review: Slightly confusing in some respects, but great deals and rarities are still aplenty! I caught word of this place from an old roommate, and decided to bring in 10-15 fairly common games and an old DS Lite for trade in and walked out with 90 bucks.

Regarding the trade in process:
I do appreciate that they allow ship ins for long distance customers, but I would first verify that your games are in working condition beforehand. I decided to come in person, and ended up discovering my most valuable game cartridges needed multiple solid cleanings before they could be verified as working, a discovery that would've lost me a fair sum of money had I just shipped them in. This was no fault of the store's, and I definitely wasn't surprised to find that out.

The biggest issue that I felt wasn't clearly communicated when in person was the conversion ratio for store credit to cash out value. While the website's account credit appears as expected in USD, it doesn't equate 1:1 on the dollar, but actually 70% (value x .7). After calling a few days after my visit, I was under the impression I had a total trade in value of around $130, but when cashed out, only came up to $92. I can understand their logic behind this rule because it encourages customers to keep their account credit for better deals in the store, I just felt that this could have been more clearly communicated both in person and the website.

If I could give less stars, I would. The trade in process is extremely shady. I was given three different trade in amounts which were all well under current market value. Frustrated with poor management of my complaints, I asked for my items back and was told that they couldn't return my items because they were already sold. I understand the business needs to turn a profit, but taking advantage of your customers is not the way to do it.

Take your business LITERALLY anywhere else.

Everything was fine with my order until I received an email stating that a game I was looking to purchase 3 months ago had finally been sent. Of course because of during the pandemic and the fact that I am still not back to work had me concerned with whether they charged my card again or not. The response I received via email back and forth was very unappropriate, unprofessional, and rude. Instead of figuring out where the miscommunication was they decided to tell me that if I dispute my charge they will no longer do business with me. I have figured out what the issue is and if they would have handled it properly I would not be disappointed and upset.

Their service has gotten way better. It used to take them multiple days or even weeks to get an order ready for pick up. I stopped coming here for almost a year because of this. But now it seems like they are faster at getting orders ready. My last 2 orders were ready within 1 or 2 days. Thanks

Cool concept. A bit overwhelming for parents - though it was cool to see my old Atari 2600 there! Definitely best place to trade in games and consoles and to find rare new and used games at good prices. Digital Teenager heaven!

The customer service is atrocious. There's way too many employees who seem to be perpetually annoyed, impatient, and put out by customers and working in general. I've been made to feel like an inconvenience so many times I almost never ask for assistance anymore. I usually don't speak to an employee until I'm at the register, but even then, as I am in the act of handing over my money, I'm often treated coldly.

It's not just in store. Today I emailed support a question concerning my transaction history. The support rep misunderstood my question, then when I responded with a clarification they continued to misunderstand, except this time they were rude about it.

I get that this place is boutique and caters to a specific subset of gamers. They have good product, good prices, and free shipping. They don't need to have good customer service to make money, and it's clear that they know it.

I've been shopping here for years, so this review isn't a knee-jerk reaction to my experiences today. This interaction with online support was the last straw.

There are some very helpful and friendly people to be sure and this is not directed at or about them. The in store employee who helped me today was awesome, but he was an outlier, not the norm.

This place is a retro game enthusiast s fantasy. It s by far the most well stocked video game store I ve been in, and has an incredible selection across all platforms. They also have some cool game merchandise like back packs, figurines, keychains, etc.

So why only 3 stars?
-1 for the line. Every time I go in there it takes forever to get checked out, even when there s only a couple people in front of you. The cashiers spend quite a bit of time on the computers during the checkout, but I know that s not their fault, they re not trying to make you wait on purpose and are just doing what they have to do. I will point blame at the owners for that one though, you guys can figure out how to expedite the process.

Another -1 for a customer service interaction I witnessed yesterday. A guy came in with a game he bought (and the receipt no less) that was supposed to be in English, but was in Japanese and was not labeled as so. The employee said that it was the customers responsibility to make sure the right game was in there and that he would not give a refund. No, YOUR BUSINESS should be making sure the correct game is there in the first place and that it s correctly labeled! I understand people make mistakes and these things happen (especially in such a large store) but it s pretty appalling that you wouldn t even give him a refund. That s just a crappy business practice. I ll still go to this store, but after witnessing that I will be much more likely to buy online from another store instead.

UPDATE: 5/19/18
Please figure out a way to make the GameCube games easier to see from a distance. There s tape blocking the way to getting near them, and when you try and lean in closer just to see the games, an employee (the same one with the rude customer service interaction as last time) scolded me for it. Literally walked right out, will not be returning

This is the place to go for any game or game console you want to buy. They have a selection going back to atari all the way up to the current system.

They give so much more than Gamestop for your games that you trade in, and they'll take in any game. You also can get more credit for having a complete edition, game case, game, booklet, of a game versus just having the disc.

They also have a monthly GamerXchange event where you can go buy or sell your own game, anime, or comic book related items. And they'll auction off some great stuff and hold raffles.

I just can't say enough great things about this place. It's a must go!

Me and my boyfriend was so excited to come to this store. We took a trip all the way from Springfield to Chantilly by Uber. We were so excited to see all the collections in stock for GameCube games. We bought games which all together was about $100 turns out all the games we bought didn't work at all. We asked them to test our games and they said "our computer tells us if it works or not" Turns out none of them NOT EVEN ONE GAME WORKED!! We were soo upset and had to get another uber the very next day. And had to return it. Almost the manager didn't believe us when we told him. It took us alot of our energy to have the games refunded. Finally we did got it refunded (this why i gave 2 stars) But we are never ever going back there. I would prob go back for the Merchandice but that's it. So I would never purchase Retro games (Espically Gamecube games) from there.

Terrible Online Store and Business Management - the people are very nice and the inventory is often impressive but the way the online store is run is really shameful. We sold an old console through their mail-in program and were provided an estimate which was not honored. It was not a lot of money in the first place but when we received half of that fee and contacted them they gave a reply that they wouldn't honor their written agreement. The online store and trade-in service is really poorly run. This was not the first issue. The online store doesn't work well and the support isn't able to be helpful. The management needs to adopt policies to take better care of their customers and improve their storefront so that it doesn't make people feel frustrated and ultimately ripped off. There's something to the phrase - you get what you pay for. Ebay is a path of less resistance imho atm. Hopefully they get their act together.

Great selection, dont get me wrong. But seems highly disorganized. Staff didnt know where multiple games were (games that were shown as in stock on their in store kiosks). Alot of staff are too busy dealing with stock etc to tend to customers standing around waiting for assistance. Expect to pay a little more than online retailers as well.

Nerdy.

Excellent used game store with a huge selection: they've got everything from old Atari stuff to games that came out today. Prices vary, but there are some great deals to be found, and you can easily check their stock and prices online, or using the computer kiosk in the store. They clearly mark if their used games include the manual, box, etc (unlike places like Gamestop), and they pay well for trade-ins, too. I was only in the area on a trip, but if I lived near eStarland, it's the only place I would buy videogames.
