I describe my experience. My girlfriend leaves Puglia with great hope given the appointment of an excellent clinic. After the first visit, the doctor beats her saying literally "You're hurt" (problem with the knees) and arrogantly insists that no one would heal her and come back in 10 years to put a prosthesis on (say this to a girl of 26 years it seems to me pure folly). Moral of the story the problem was solved here in Puglia with the doctor who apologized and shamed for having heard what his colleagues in Bologna said to whom I arrogantly say "Change jobs". I repeat this is my experience.
I made use of this facility for the first orthopedic rescue service.
According to the medical staff, the day was considered "fairly normal" as an influx of patients and yet for the sequence of acceptance - visit - radiography - diagnosis / report it took more than five hours for a green code. In the waiting room turned off the monitor that should have reported, by color code, the number of people waiting, average waiting times and other info. The visit and the discussion on the diagnosis were hasty and unsatisfactory. The emergency room environment is quite cozy, in certain time slots, offers a service called OPS (Hospitality to the ER) provided by students of the faculty of sociology that with their distinctive green shirt approach to patients to make as smooth as possible the permanence of people in the waiting room. In the long waiting periods I witnessed an unpleasant behavior on the part of a doctor who in the corridor let slip with the nurses "this is a friend of mine I visit him", practically the friend has jumped all ... ..
They are all very good and very kind ... I was operated on the spine for a serious scoliosis ... everything went very well! I'm in excellent health and I've been reborn!
Orthopedics temple, located in the former monastery of San Michele in Bosco, historic home dating back to at least the 14th century (rich in history).
From a purely tourist point of view it is worth visiting to see the monumental part: from the octagonal cloister of the Carracci to the monumental corridor (1 floor to the monumental) with a view of Bologna (window with the famous "telescope effect"), always in the same corridor it deserves visit the sundial but, above all, the Umberto I library (once the library of Olivetan monks), containing one of the richest and most complete collection of medical texts in orthopedics.
Also worth visiting is the church, a real gem.
It deserves at least one souvenir photo from the monumental square overlooking Bologna.
Founded in 1896, it has made and still is the school of orthopedics worldwide.
From the orthopedic point of view, the temple of orthopedics remains, as already mentioned, ranging from pediatric to oncological and vertebral, passing through prosthetic surgery.
The emergency room is open every day from 7.30 to 19.30 for all orthopedic emergencies.
Femoral head fracture operated in Florence with negative result re-operated at Rizzoli by Dr. Busanelli number one thanks. The same applies to hallux valgus from Dr. Di Liddo very good
We are at the emergency room for a fracture that occurred at home, they received us immediately and EVERYONE, from the doctor to the staff who moves the stretchers, were courteous and available to all our questions and requests. For now I have only to say this then I hope that the treatments are also excellent as the availability of the staff. UPDATE the next day: in the request for medicines issued by the doctor his stamp is missing and in the pharmacy they don't give us the medicines. AFTER A WEEK: during a visit to a specialist after a week we discover that the plaster is badly made. SUMMARY: humanly EXCELLENT staff, however, the treatments need to be improved
Because here everything works and the staff is professional and of a gentle kindness, and after a year we returned to do the prosthesis also on the other leg and I tell you that this institute amazes me again and even more excellent than before because it takes more because we can be an excellence in the world thanks nursing carers doctors professors thanks to all
I recommend the panoramic terrace on the institute's roof.
I received information you are an exceptional institution in Europe
al rizzoli are all super !!! this is the
amazing view on a difficult day!
How much nostalgia .... in looking at the photographic images, it was back in 1982 for a serious car accident I stayed with you for six months uninterrupted, I knew the hospital as my home .... and I must say that you have all been my family ... a part of my heart remained there ... thanks again ...
I had a knee operation at this facility, operated by the GREAT Prof. Zaffagnini and his staff, including doctors, trainees, and nursing and cleaning staff. Everything to say the least perfect. Pride for the whole of Italy For professionalism, kindness and services. Thanks. Gabriele R.
Historic orthopedic hospital with splendid views over the city of Bologna.
Second Clinical Prof.Zaffagnini deserves 5 stars, had surgery total knee arthroplasty with severe knee osteoarthritis with valgo.Proff.Zaffagnini made an intervention that restored my life that had for all these years, I will always be grateful and every time I I look in the mirror I think of his profesionalita.Grazie of cura.Rizzoli and TOP!

I was operated on last year (July 2019), absolute professionalism from doctors and nurses. THE ONLY BIG PECCA HAS BEEN THE ADMINISTRATION: Appointment set for 15/07/20 for the control visit, I LEAVE FROM NAPLES on the afternoon of 14 and arrive there in the evening, in Bologna. I arrive at the hospital at 10.30 on day 15 (appointment at 10.50), I do all the anticovid checks, I get in line for acceptance and SURPRISE, there were no visits that day! I was not notified in time, they did not send me any message IF NOT A TELEGRAM (which arrived home at 11.30 on the same day, I remember the appointment was at 10.50). A TELEGRAM. In 2020, you sent me a TELEGRAM to warn me that there were no visits. Scandalous. I move the visit to the following day, I kindly ask to be visited at a decent time: first visit at 16.30 (on paper) and for me who come from Naples, by car (luckily, otherwise I would have also lost the train money), it is a further insult. I explained the situation to the secretariat but nothing to do, appointment at 16.20. I leave the hospital at 7 pm, after hours of waiting for internal delays! So I find myself having to spend another night in the hotel and face other expenses not budgeted for negligence of the administration!
Very competent doctors, ultra-specialized teams, trained inferioristic staff, but insufficient for the amount of work
professionalism, competence and kindness on the part of Prof. ROTINI and all his collaborators, in particular the head nurse. Azzaro Vanda Foggia undergoing surgery at the RIzzoli of Total Reverse Right Shoulder Prosthesis. On March 1, 2018. THANKS TO ALL
In my opinion the CVOD department (degenerative oncological vertebral surgery) absolutely MUST BE AVOIDED.
APPROVAL given to my father has no words to describe!
Excellent, perhaps this definition is not enough to describe the professionalism and hospitality of this hospital.
Very competent doctors and extremely helpful nurses, a pearl
This hospital is one of the most professional orthopedic hospitals in the world. The environment is elegant, the medical skills are high, the medical ethics are noble, and the transportation is convenient. Many famous Chinese doctors come to this postgraduate study and visit.
go and see the panorma of Bologna from the window on the side of San Michele in Bosco. Amazing optical effect.
Is an excellent hospital company, as an orthopedic institute, Rizzoli is the top.
Doctors and advanced technology, and in terms of skills and use of the various principals.
As a Red Cross volunteer I often found myself at this establishment for reasons of service, with patients from all over Italy, always with amazing results for every type of problem.
Their problems have practically solved them in this Institute, problems that concern any organ of orthopedic competence.
The waiting times are perhaps long, but after all if they solve the problems, it's better to get on the list in time.
Even the patient rooms are clean, as is the entire structure.
The staff is kind to patients and relatives.
In March 2019, I was admitted to the oncological and degenerative spinal surgery department for an aggressive angioma in L5. I would like to thank Dr. Alessandro Gasbarrini, Dr. Giuseppe Rossi, the head room, Dr. Antonella Sarli, the nurses and all the staff for their professionalism and humanity. Really a great department.
Mafalda Baldi, Bologna.
Very high level of professionalism and courtesy, as it should be everywhere
Yesterday my wife went to the Rizzoli in Bologna for a paid orthopedic visit ... lasted for 5 minutes scarce ..the doctor did not even bother to visit her .. if this is the excellence of the orthopedics we are well placed ..and the relationship where is the patient? Bravi
If necessary, first of all, feel and consult this institute! The best in the sector.
According to RSM, a knee cleaning had to be done, but during the surgery, seeing nothing, a certain dr. Di Martino thought it well to remove a piece of meniscus, without first warning me: A DISASTER!
On an impeccable surgical level, but on a welfare level, they are tremendous !!! I had to take care of the roommate, never respond to calls from the rooms, the answers are vague, they were giving me medicines for others and make you wait 3/4 hours for any kind of treatment. Bad !!!!
I was discharged on 10/29/2015 from the Rizzoli orthopedic institute of Bologna for a DEBULKING T9 AND ARTRODESI T7-T11 surgical procedure with Carbofrix carbon system for removal of a plasmacytoma where I subsequently performed the radiotherapy cycle.
I was followed by prof. Alessandro Gasbarrini, from Dott. Bandiera Stefano and their team.
I would like to express my gratitude both in the professional and human sphere, for the care with which I have been followed.
I found a welcoming, clean, organized institution with staff motivated and attentive to the needs of the patient.
Crude Simone
Never again!!! 2 radiographs at the feet 50 ____ 2 bands at the foot 25 ticket due 25 total for 5 days at home 100 (ruined) and the nurse told me that it is the fault of the state but we are joking !!!
Excellent hospital, competence and professionalism on the part of everyone and even little waiting !!!
The best orthopedics department super qualified staff kindness is courtesy. The super-specialized surgeons in particular my praises to Dr. Missing the TOP
They may be good too, but Jesus Christ first resurrected, waiting times for BIBLICAL visits.
The courtesy and professionalism that would always be needed in a hospital. Congratulations!
Very good and very good hospital, I found a doctor M.R. Which is the top, from the first time I visited him I will never leave him again. He had been transferred to Sicily in Bagheria and I also followed him to Sicily. Thank you doctor. You are number 1
Friendly and kind nurses. Good food. NOT plastic tableware. An exceptional thing nowadays. The prosthesis goes. Good and beautiful infectious consultants
Personal experience gone to the Great !! Spinal deformity surgery a world-class department. Professional staff, Dr. Vommaro an exquisite and professional person. Thanks a lot.
congratulations to the professionalism of the members of the structure, it is worthwhile to use them even if you live far away and the wait is long, because RESOLVE!
Hi ... I was operated on because of a bad scoliosis. From the beginning I found myself very well, professionalism, hospitality, excellent cleaning. Very kind doctors, nurses and oss. Excellent evaluation also for the well-maintained structure. Given my stay, I was also able to visit the church, which is also historic and of great value. A special thanks to dr. Vommaro, the one who operated on me and who gave us so much tranquility and serenity. (obviously the intervention went completely well)
Thanks to the team of Prof. Maurilio Marcacci today I am a completely regenerated person.
At the age of 7 I had my first speech at the Rizzoli by prof. Stilli. This was a simple arthroscopic procedure to solve a widespread problem, the discoid meniscus.
At the age of 17 I faced a much more complex intervention. Cartilaginous Regeneration with Stem Cells.
After a first visit with Prof. Marcacci, I made my speech, which was divided into 2 parts, after 6/7 months each.
The first involves the recovery of a part of tissue and the bone reconstruction of part of my knee, which took place with the removal of a bone part from the tibial bone (spongy part), remodeled and reinserted.
The second part instead concerned the reintroduction of my cartilage that had been in culture for about 6 months.
Inpeccabile staff, capable and very attentive to every single detail.
Follow-up visits for years, first at 2 months then 6 months then yearly.
Today I live in Canada, Toronto, and apparently this reconstruction technique seems to be still a utopia.
I wanted to give a big thank you and all the Rizzoli Institute for all the spend your time, your dedication and ability.
Thank you
Costabile Carpinelli
The utmost professionalism, competence and courtesy as well as the human relationship that medical, technical, nursing, administrative staff and anything else can establish with patients and relatives ... at the top, obviously, from a medical point of view ... Excellence.
I was not treated with respect and professionalism.
Unfortunately, it gives the impression that they have settled on the laurels of those who define the institution among the best in Europe.
Superficial visits, doctors who covertly push private services, even if starting from a visit in the public.
High hospital ticket for necessary visits and infinite waiting times: situation that reflects the gaps in the Italian health system.
Bad experience even in the private.
I state that I arrived in this hospital after I had twelve days of hospitalization in a hospital in my region (Lazio) and for organizational reasons I finally resigned voluntarily five days after the operation to go to Rizzoli.
I could not have made a fairer and wiser choice !!!
I have no words to express the wonderful way in which the whole structure is organized!
They welcomed me immediately and in an exceptional manner, immediately assigning me a bed position given the urgency of the case.
Kindness and professionalism are really the cornerstone of this hospital.
Within 3 hours they have re-done all the checks, analyzes, etc. even if they had just been made by the other hospital; and from here the meticulousness of their work can be seen.
The cleanliness is really perfect in every room, the rooms are comfortable, very spacious, with TV, personal lockers and free wifi.
They have an internal bar, a canteen for relatives to eat at cost prices, a newsstand, a laundry and a library!
The visiting hours are so flexible that I was shocked.
The staff is of a kindness, tenderness and humanity that has to bow to him.
During the reception they even provided me with a departmental guide where they explain everything by thread and sign and give a complete perspective on the right steps to take from the moment of admission to discharge and in which various suggestions are given, etc.
The food is delicious, like being in a restaurant!
They operated on me saving the implantation of a prosthesis and opting for a much softer solution; which for the other hospital I was in was not even worth considering.
Although the surgery was particularly invasive, after 4 days I was able to get out, even if clearly with crutches, but I had no pain, only the classic post-operative swelling in the affected area.
The assistance they provided was fantastic! From the day after the surgery I had already started physiotherapy and everything went very well.
No thanks would be enough.
They were wonderful in everything!
Tomorrow the rehabilitation cycle will end at my shoulder operated in September. I received a treatment, I am not able to define it in terms of quality because I do not know what medicine offers in this regard, but humanly and as a profuse commitment from those who follow me (Domenico) I could not have hoped for better. Sincere thanks to all the members of the gym.
Silvano Degan
I am 11 years old and thanks to Dr. Stefano stilli I find myself having a crooked leg after having failed the intervention, and now I have to face other interventions, certainly not at Rizzoli
Thank you for your professionalism and availability even one year after surgery (elbow surgery)
It's really disgusting to book a visit to Dr. Vannini (pay 150) at 15.45 and 17.00 to be told that there are still 3 people waiting. We come from Genoa with significant expenses of course beyond the visit. If this is seriousness. You should be ashamed

scarce. a problem that had lasted for years in the Achilles tendons, according to them it resolved with cortisone and plantar bites. not having solved anything, I then found a good osteopath who solved me the problem forever in 3 sessions ..
For now I have waited 2 hours to book a visit but no answer always engaged the operator of the switchboard, while the IOR clinic does not even raise the handset or is disconnected and do not answer (bookings from 9.30 / 12.30) 1 star it's too ... but
In 2017 I had an accident, fractured my clavicle, unfortunately I was sent to Ospedale Sant Orsola which for months mistakes all the treatment... give me a big deal of pain and distress. then I went to Rizzoli , doctor Cavallo and doctor Guerra took care of me and on the January 3th 2018, I was submitted to a surgery and they solved my problem, not only, all the pos-operation was really wonderful... Now... almost two years after the surgery, I am fine, no pain, and life goes on.
The facilities are very well preserved and the stuff very kind and educated.

I thank the dott. Stilli of the Rizzoli pediatric orthopedic ward for having operated my son, I also thank all the staff, kindness and professionalism are the most important things to find in a hospital. Thanks.
Dr. Mosca Massimiliano undertook an operation to lengthen the fourth toe of both feet of my daughter, suffering from brachimetatarsia. I thank Dr. Massimiliano Mosca for his competence, professionalism, humanity and availability. Excellent! I advise.
My thanks go to all the medical team, especially to Dr. Massimi, who followed and follows with scrupulousness and competence, as well as with great humanity, the post-operative course. Thank you Dr. Moscow for keeping what he promised me in our first meeting. Thank you.
Hospitalized for a meniscus transplant and femoral osteotomy, operated by Professor Marcacci. Very competent doctors and trained nurses although some of us are very young. Due to my latex allergy, they managed to operate on me in a sterile operating room from latex particles and used corn fiber gloves. I recommend the structure.
I spent a day and a half from 12/21/2016 to 12/22/16, in order to have the flat feet surgery that was badly done thanks to doctor Stefano Stilli, now I have feet affixed. The place is older however it is always up to date the staff is very kind food good nurses and doctors always available
Twice I wanted to trust the doctors of Rizzoli well and I am sincere in both cases I had to deal with two arrogant and presumptuous people who do not even know how to approach patients as they behave as if they were God is especially after who get paid handsomely also annoy themselves to answer questions. In Italy we have better institutes with much more humble and trained people!
Just released after 6 days of hospitalization: I had a broken shoulder, and they rebuilt me
Doctors, nurses and OSS, of another kind!
Being hugged and kissed by nurses and nurses while you leave is not from all hospitals
Thanks Rizzoli
Perhaps the best orthopedic hospital in Italy, good and very professional.
For the moment my experience has not yet ended but I must say that at this point for what concerns me I have known reliable and professional serious people my final comment can only be positive
I call for a visit that has been prescribed for me:
"I'm sorry, the place for your visit is unfortunately only in December (sic!). I shouldn't tell you, eh! But if you come from a private place there is room in 3 days."
Real phone call.
Public health from shame!
So much kindness both with the children and with us parents
They destroyed my knee. 3 goals to pursue all failed. After 5 years I am falling apart both physically and morally
I was operated on the left knee on March 6, unfortunately I don't know who operated on me or rather I don't know his name but I have that face imprinted on my mind! Thank you very much you have been very good
I went to Rizzoli with my son who had surgery on his knees, the surgery went very well, I thank Dr. Antonioli and all the staff, thank you very much to the whole pediatric department, all kind and prepared. Thank you so much also the physiotherapists .... really very good !!
In addition to the expertise of doctors, nurses and all those who work there, there is the old part where above all doctors' studies are to be found. To say beautiful is little .... It is a former convent dating back to the 15th century with some frescoes where the words nn enough
I have been operated on artoprotesi d'anc
a (the second) at this structure, I must underline the goodness of the organizational machine, obviously the great professionalism of the staff, from Prof Dallari, of the whole team from the first to the last contributor to whom all indiscriminately goes my plauso.in last but not for classification, Dr Pompili who in five days has put me back on my feet and even if I have to do a lot of exercise I already know that it has given me so much serenity and the desire to live well
Thank you
My review, believe me is spontaneous and real
Everything perfect, there are no other words to describe
Hip prosthesis operated 10 years ago surgery ok no problem
An exceptional hospital. Competent people and all very kind and helpful. Much attention to people
Very renowned structure. Indeed, at least in the pediatric orthopedics ward, there were patients from practically all of Italy, including the islands. Hospital anyway, as far as I could see, well kept and tidy. There are many services available to both patients and family accompanying persons, including the use of the canteen for both lunch and dinner with the payment of a non-binding amount. Excellent connections with public transport also taking into account the size of the city and the location of the hospital in relation to it.
The professionalism of the medical team, of the nurses and of the staff was excellent, even in the offices of Bentivoglio and Casalecchio.
State-of-the-art orthopedic interventions. From all over Italy people find themselves here with the most serious cases. Also specialized in oncological orthopedics, it is one of the few references for those who, like my family, need special interventions
Thank you very much for your kindness, courtesy and professionalism, especially to Dr Stilli and his team
Appointment for hospitalization at 7 received at 9, managed people with an appointment at 7.30 before me. Interview with a somewhat grumpy doctor. Ordered breakfast at 9.25 after an hour they are still waiting .... Bad
Prof Rotini's staff is excellent, great professionalism, as always. I am from Puglia I am 60 years old I went to my areas to repair a 3 degree acromio clavicular dislocation, plus a ruptured rotator cuff tendon, they told me that I would be offended by not recovering the functionality of the shoulder giving me a 20% chance , moral of the story I went to the rizzoli prof Enrico Guerra operated on me with all the staff intervention ok, plate removal ok and today I am the happiest man in the world, because at this age, unfortunately, I swim, windsurf, etc. So I dutifully thank all the doctors on the staff of prof. Rotini
For me this institute is the best we can find in Italy. I found myself with a child with cancer, and he recovered. This says a lot. He is truly a wonderful hospital, I would say "GREAT"
I was at Rizzoli for a vertebroplasty surgery on 23.03.2018. Doctor Giovanni Barbanti was very good !!
Professional and also very kind.
A big thank you to all the technicians and nurses who are always very kind and professional.
Magnificent hospital, impressive body of patients who visit every day. Congratulations on the organization
D5stelle, for professional ability at all levels, including street sweepers and cleaners because both the exterior and interior are clean. Then some defect in a human place and managed by humans happens and can be used by anyone, some long phone waiting that irritates, some attitude or sentence not very happy, or some personal epic formally managed in a hasty way. It is about objectively assessing the pros and cons and their actual value. I live in a city, provincial capital, with a hospital department of traumatology and orthopedics that does not enjoy, it is probably the only one, of a positive historical reputation for results, for organization and for the succession of cases of squalid conduction with the escape of capable physicians as soon as possible and the chronic permanence of doctors the opposite of those previously said. That said, I make a comparison with Rizzoli, the exact opposite; my nephew with a bone necrosis of the hip at Rizzoli was quickly healed with the help of a prosthesis, when in the bad department he was told that this kind of operation was in its infancy, so to keep the evil and wait for the technique perfect yourself.
Long queues in the emergency room. But a lot of efficiency.
My daughter operated by Dr. Antonioli D. Excellent experience Competence Kindness An intervention at DOC, I would choose it a thousand times. I recommend it at a pediatric level.
I underwent surgery on the kneecap with more than positive results. Congratulations to Dr. Russo for his professionalism and to all the nursing staff, therapists and Oss for their kindness and humanity.
