Dr. Meinen and the staff at WVRC were very professional. They could not have been nicer in the way they treated my dog Tucker. He is doing awesome 6 weeks post-op. Thanks.

Our cat Ariel had feline hyperthyroidism, and we brought her to the Waukesha WVRC for the Iodine-131 Radioiodine Therapy. She spent three days at WVRC before we could bring her home, and we really appreciate the daily phone calls from the veterinarian staff updating us on how she was doing. We can't say enough good things about the excellent care she received before, during, and after the treatment - and special thanks go to Dr. Jambhekar and her technicians.
Called in because it was Sunday and our husky had some fleas. They said we could bring him in and wash him. They did nothing. The doctor came out saw one flea gave him a pill and told me to go to petsmart and wash him myself. Cost me $116
We had to take our cat Ginnie there because our regular vet did surgery on one of her mammary glands and they found cancer. They really care about your pet, take excellent care of them and put your mind @ease.
Kind, caring employees that work well together and are as quick and efficient as possible in a hectic, stressful situation for both pets and their owners.
All employees were efficient and courteous. Very professional and caring! Just what I needed when taking my Lucy in late at night.
Very thankful for the responsive and compassionate care provided by the staff at WVRC. I would highly recommend to anyone for urgent care/emergency vet needs. It s so reassuring to know that my pup is in good hands with them.
Outstanding Boudreau says Thank You for giving him life back
Been here a couple of times after my darling dog ate some raisins. Accessible hours since they are an emergency vet (evening, weekend, and holiday hours). Great phone and reception staff (knowledgeable, quick response, and kind). Vet and vet techs were compassionate are and very on top of things. You and your pet will be take care of.
very grateful to have an emergency care center like this for our cats!
I never wanted to be writing this review. My dog Lilith has osteosarcoma. We thought we caught it early and acted quickly. Dr. Wirth, her staff (especially Rae) and everyone else at WVRC Waukesha did everything to make this process as easy as possible. They were knowledgeable, supportive, and loved my dog like their own pet when she was there. Every day I showed up for Lilly's chemo we were greeted like family.
Sadly our outcome wasn't happy. Lilly's cancer spread and she doesn't have long to live. Instead of pressing us to continue expensive treatment on a Longshot hope of buying a few extra moments at the expense of our dogs comfort, Dr Wirth told us when it was time to stop treatment and advised us on how to best spend our last weeks with our beloved dog. I will forever be thankful to everyone at WVRC for how they treated their "desk dog".
WVRC once again provided us with excellent care and compassion. From the front desk, the techs and the ER vet, we were made to feel important and cared for. Although the discoveries they made were not what we were hoping, we truly appreciate the compassion we were shown.
My son took his 12 year old cat Brooks in on a late Saturday night because he was vomiting a lot and in a 25 hour period had obviously lost a lot of weight. Looking at him we thought he was not going to make it through the night. We all felt he couldn't wait until Monday to go to the vet. I put my credit card down for payment. They told me they would approve for $1600. on the low side and $2600 would be the high side. 30 hours later and many tests and some run over again they found nothing to be wrong. But I found out when speaking with my son that it was over $2200. I told him to go back and ask to have Brooks released since nothing seemed to be wrong and the he seemed to be doing better. They told him they could not release him. And he then told me that they said the balance was higher now. I called to find out how much the bill was and how they got it over what they told me they were going to approve. They never called me to ask. They told me it was over $2700. I then asked them how much more this was going to run since they were not going to release Brooks. The Dr. told me they were looking at another $500.00 When I explained I was told at the high end it would be $2600. She told me that they knew the card had a limit of $3200.00 and thought they could go that high. I very quickly explained that I was upset that no one called me to approve this. And that if it went any higher then $3000. They them selves were going to have to pay it. She later called me back and said they did some reevaluating and that they were going to change procedures and that the cat could be picked up the next morning. And that they would not charge any more. We all find it terrible that they played on my sons feelings and not wanting to lose his pet. And it is an outrage that they would continue to charge my card with out MY approval. I am thinking of contacting the BBB to report this kind of behavior. Thank goodness Brooks seems to be doing well at this time. It has only been a few hours since he has been home. To lose him would have made this situation even worse. Speaking to a few others who have taken their pet there and looking at other reviews it seems that this must be their normal practice. We won't ever take another one of our pets there.
I have always had very good experiences when visiting WVRC. The staff is very friendly and remember me and my pup every time we come in (the downside of being frequent flyers). Dr. Wirth is a great oncologist and has been giving my pup great care since we started seeing her.
Everyone was very professional and kind with our little beagle Shiloh. We are grateful for the excellent treatment she received. Thanks very much.
I could not believe how fast things happened. We walked in with Stan, of course in pure panic mood, and they wicket him away. Within a half hour we were in the room, back with Stan and the MD. The MD used "real language " to explain to us what could be going on with our Stan. The MD gave us several options and DID NOT PRESSURE US! If something were to ever happen again or if someone I knew needed to have their animal right away, hands down I would recommend WVRC!
Our dog was brought in and diagnosed as needing a 5 to 6 thousand dollar surgery or the other option they gave was to put our dog to sleep. We had very little time to decide. We cold not afford the surgery so we opted for the only other option they gave and we had our 4 year old dog put to sleep. we have found out sence, that there are other options. We loved our dog, and miss him very much. Get a second opinion.
Very traumatic experience with putting my cat down a few months back. They pinned her down while she was scrambling and scared rather than do anything to calm her down or console her. Very poor service and very bad experience, will never walk through these doors again
I ve made two visits here and they were both excellent.
Although it took about 3 hours to get examined, wait for bloodwork results and make the decision to admit my dog, once she was admitted, she received exemplary care, specifically from Dr. Jambhekar and Dr. Temo. Both were very open and frank and took the time to explain everything to me. They also listen to my concerns and feedback without judgement.
Bella, although quite sick last weekend, appears to be on the road to recovery, which is the most important part. The other thing that was really important for me was the effort to help me hold costs while still pursuing an appropriate treatment plan. We don't have pet insurance (but I am now planning to purchase) and the costs could have quickly racked up. Their advice on all aspects of the financial side was very helpful -- even down to the ladies at the front desk discussing their experiences with Care Credit. People have made a number of complaints about the cost of WVRC without considering that it's still a business, and if they don't make money, this important resource won't be there when you need them. They were definitely there for us. I suggest if you are worried about $, state that up front, educate yourself and be your own advocate. Pets are a responsibility and a commitment that owners make, knowing there will be expenses, sometimes big ones.
I can't thank you all enough for pulling her out of her autoimmune crisis for yet a second time. What a blessing you have been!
Michele & Bella
The staff here is waiting for you when you arrive and are always friendly and caring. They know how stressed you are as a pet parent and do their best to make things easy for you. Our dogs have always received great care. I even got a follow up phone call a couple of days later to see how my dog was doing. :)
When I took my Tigre in everyone was so kind. Even the people in the waiting room. When I was told Tigre was not going to make it much longer and almost nothing could be done due to where the tumor was I was told with compassion and kindness. I will be going back for anything in the future with our other animals. Truly a wonderful place.
If they don't get their money up front they will let the animals suffer. They all say they care about the animals , but they care more about money. they could have helped Oreo on Friday when we first took him in but since we didn't have $180 to $200 for an x-ray plus $1500 to $2000 for treatment they wouldn't do anything for him. If they cared as much as they say they do he would still be here with us. they would rather kill an animal than try to save them. They give you the line of bs that you can apply for care credit but if your credit is not great you can't get it. Why veterinarians think they are to good to do billing is beyond me, they could set up some type of auto pay or make payment arrangements for people that don't have thousands of dollars just laying around.
I want to thank the doctors and staff at WVRC-Waukesha for their kind treatment and care during one of the most difficult times we have had to endure as a family, the lost of our beloved Molly dog. Their sensitivity, patience, communication skills and willingness to allow us to process what was happening was a blessing...I am thankful we had a place to go in the middle of the night when we needed to seek medical attention and then people who truly understood the pain we where in. Their thoughts and care days after in way of a phone call and card where also of great comfort. Thank you WVRC for being there for us...
Our 6 month old Golden doodle puppy ate my ankle sock. We called, they gave us options. We decided to try the induced vomit at home. It worked! Up came the sock. She is fine now. Thank you! They were very kind and professional.
We were seen immediately, everyone was kind, and we learned some new tricks to getting our dog to stay still enough for eye drops.
I would highly recommend. We were really concerned that because it is a 24hr clinic that prices would be insane, but we were pleasantly surprised to receive a pretty modest bill for the amount of medicine and exams we received.
We had an emergency with our dog who had a laceration in his mouth and a broken tooth. They took him in and took care of the laceration and part of the dangling tooth. Went back the next week for dental surgery to have the tooth extracted. The staff was very caring and made sure we were aware of the procedures and the cost. Took great care of our dog and he's doing well. I would go back and recommend. Thank you!
The staff from all levels; front office, vet tech, doctor, etc. was absolutely amazing! The hospital was very busy but every single person took the time to listen to us, provide updates, offered compassion and made sure we understood everything that was going on with our cat and treatment plan. I would definitely recommend to anyone in need of emergency pet care.
The staff are so understanding, helpful, sympathetic and sincere!! Putting our beloved Mako to sleep was so hard but I felt so comforted....
I've had a very good experience with them. I use the cardiologist there n the dentist Dr. Gwenn Schamberger, n now will be using their ophthalmologist. I thought the dentist was great, I prefer a specialist w my 14 yr old pup as he has heart murmur. Now they have anesthesiologist on board so I am especially pleased. I have had mix ups with their appointments, so if u have an apt I would call n confirm it the day before. I always repeat the apt time back to people, underline it, n get the person's name n even this didn't work one time, so call the day before, get the person's name!! This was not w dentist. My dog has a phobia about the car so going thru a trip unnecessarily is not fun. The front desk has been fine. Once I quit a vet because the front desk was so rude but these ladies have been polite. They even have a nice little coffee machine in the front. So far so good n am hoping everything will continue the same. I tend to be picky about vets, I lost my beloved dog to anesthesia once to a vet in Muskego/New Berlin area n I suspect too much anesthesia was given. Another time, same clinic my poor little guy had huge dental infection n I kept bringing him back like 5 times n he claimed nothing was wrong. The odor was horrible. I wonder for how many months he suffered before I asked for another vet n 2nd opinion. I blame myself, i should have been more assertive n asked for 2nd opinion sooner. Shouldn't they have cut some of that fee after making my poor little guy go thru so much? Anyway, it's important per example to get a good vet n so far this place has been great. Edit: these ladies have my insurance form filled out n faxed it to my insurance company!!!! The other ophthalmologist gave me a hard time about participating w the insurance. Excellent service!!!!!! N I feel like the vets are competent n front desk super!
Dr. Balog is wonderful. Although I didn't get the best news about my pet, she was very caring and thorough. She and her team were great.
I do not want to even give this facility 1 star. My daughter took her beloved cat to this facility to have him put to sleep. He was old and sick and it was time. They were very kind and.respectful and my daughter signed and paid for a personal cremation, she wanted her fur babies ashes! Because of a clerical error, her beloved cat was group cremated and his ashes were scattered! She has been left with nothing! This is unacceptable!
Seven years ago this facility took care of our Golden Retriever, saw her thru cancer and when her time came, assisted us in giving her a peaceful send off. We also asked for her ashes and did receive them! That is why my daughter went to your facility. What a mistake!
Pets mean everything to their owners and a facility like this knows this! Hopefully their policies and clerical practices will be reviewed so no other pet owners have to go thru what my daughter went thru! Again this is unacceptable!
Friendly staff ...made me feel at home and at ease during a difficult decision on what to do with me dog . The doctors took time to explain everything and answered all my questions. They kept me informed every step of the way during the surgery process.
WVRC was thorough and highly responsive to my pets needs. His critical life threatening situation was handle with the utmost skill, professionalism and kindness. Thank You to Dr. Jambhekar, Dr. Hurley and the entire staff at WVRC.
I brought my cat in last night as she was pretty ill and having trouble walking. The staff were very professional and freindly checking in...at about 11:30 pm. The vet provided the options for treatment, and recommended panels and xrays. The costs were very clearly explained. After heading home, we got the call there was bad news and we decided to put our sweet cat to sleep. The vet and staff were about as kind and professional as you would want for something that is hard to do. I really want to thank you all.
I have no idea how someone could give this clinic a bad review.
Excellent, compassionate service. All treatment options and costs fully explained followed by several calls after discharge to see how my pet was doing.
The overall experience was good. Dr Balon was thorough in diagnosing the possible problem and in explaining and answering questions. The anatomical picture she drew was very helpful! There were problems with records that weren't there as they should of. Was under the impression I would be called when testing was done. I was never told there was actually a 4:30 appt. and for some reason 3x I called and the phone just kept ringing. Finally the 4th time I got through 10 minutes before I apparently was meant to be there. Again, the overall experience was good. I would recommend Dr Balon to others.
Everyone was very polite and took great care of us. Knowing we were scared for our dog, they did what they could to check him out and do their best. They listened to our concerns. We left feeling much better and our dog is on his way to a good recovery.
I feel like the staff at WVRC saved our Chesapeake Bay Retriever's life. Twice. Two years ago, Teddie was acutely anemic. After blood transfusions and other care, and several months of follow-up medicine, he was back to normal. Last week, after we rode a roller coaster of emotion, we opted for him to have surgery. He's home now and appears to be doing great. His blood chemistry confirms it. Prior to surgery, the surgeon, Dr. Reed, and Teddie's doctor, Dr. Balog, explained the risks and the unknowns involved with surgery. We went ahead knowing we could lose him. We had an emotionally difficult few days. Unfortunately we understand the pain described by other reviewers. We lost our shih tzu bichon at WVRC last year after several days and several thousand dollars. But I feel the staff did all they could for our little guy. I feel strongly that had we brought him in one day or even 12 hours earlier, he would have made it. But that's just my guess. Now we are exceptionally grateful to have Teddie back. The surgery and hospital stay cost a lot of money. In fact, the cost of care has led me to question whether we'll ever have other dogs in the future - unless we have good insurance, if there is such a thing. Health care costs are a tough fact of life, whether that care is for your beloved pet or yourself. I have no doubt whatsoever that, by far, the most egregious disregard for one's pocketbook occurs in human health. No doubt whatsoever. Before I go off topic on a human-health rant, my point is this: I feel the staff at WVRC genuinely cares about the animals in their care. Why? Whether we're at the regular vet or WVRC, we are acutely aware of the staff's words, tone and actions. That's why I'm confident the WVRC staff cares. We lost one of our family there, and we gained more time with another. The most we can ask for from WVRC is a high level of expertise, compassion and their best effort. I feel like we've received it. We're grateful for Dr. Reed and Dr Balog, Joleen and others, whose care enabled Teddie to be home here with us again.
Not happy at all with there services. They did not do there jobs and way to expensive seeing they did not even do there job!
WVRC was organized, clean, and easy to find. My dog liked the staff, and our doctor was professional and handled him well. I feel comfortable going back and recommending WVRC if you have specialty vet needs!
We're no stranger to animal hospitals. We had frequently been in and out of the ER at Lakeshore Vet fighting against several disorders our dog had. We ended up at WVRC after we called Lakeshores ER and asked how long it would be before she could see the neurologist. We were told 2 and a half weeks, even though we were coming through the ER. Completely outraged and unwilling to ignore her severe neurological symptoms, we went to WVRC based on our vets recommendation. We were shocked and unaccustomed to the speed that the staff provided. We were put into a room and seen by the vet before we finished filling out paperwork. Our dog was seen by the neurologist the very next morning, and I spoke directly to her on the phone to discuss treatment options. I wish we had been going here all along, and would recommend WVRC to anyone who is looking for urgent care. They understand that every minute counts.
Very competent, friendly, and compassionate staff. The vet explained her physical exam findings as she performed them, which put my mind as ease knowing that nothing was overlooked. Highly recommend this place!
I can not say enough fantastic things about the Doctors and staff at the WVRC Waukesha. We brought our dog ( Navona) in a little over a yr ago with some major health issues. Dr Balog took over her case, and this woman is simply amazing!!! Her entire team is fantastic! They treat Navona so good and they all talk so sweet to her when she is there for appointments. ( it is comforting to me knowing she is in excellent hands) Navona has really taken to them all as well! So I want to say Thank you to you all for giving us more time with our oh so loved Navona! She is more to us than just a dog :)
Everyone here was so nice and pleasant to deal with. Came in on an non-idea situation (dog had puncture wound) , and they communicated with me every step of the way! Thanks so much for getting him all fixed up!
Very calm and accommodating environment. Staff was very positive and kind all around. The doctors are very honest, taking it step by step before calling for a big bill or surgery.
Amazing service! They took great care of my kitten, Boots, when she got a fish hook to her lip and paw. Thank you so much!
Very nice and caring staff...from the front desk, techs and doctors! Dr. Jacobs quickly figured out what our sick dog could be suffering with when the first vet we took her to could not. After further testing he was right on! Our dog might have not made it if it wasnt for these knowledgable doctors. The care she recieved for the next couple days was excellent. The doctors that were caring for her called to update us twice a day. I highly recommend WVRC.
Thank you so much for the compassionate care you gave to Jazz!!! We would never go anywhere else.
exceptional service and amazing care for my fur-baby. They are clearly experts in their fields, and ever member of the staff deeply cares. Hope you don't have an emergency, but if you do this is the place.
Very friendly staff. Very knowledgeable and informative. I felt my pets were in good hands when we have gone there.
I accompanied my mother in law to take her 2 year old husky here.
One weekend she (the dog) was fine one second and by the next morning she was not able to walk or use the bathroom. We took her to our normal vet and they said she probably had tore a muscle so they gave us muscle relaxers and pain pills. By nightfall, her whole back end seemed completely paralyzed and she would whimper in pain if we tried to move her. We had to carry her outside to try and use the bathroom and carry her upstairs to bed.
On Monday we went to our vet first thing. They had to bring out the stretcher to bring her in. She was crying, clearly miserable and in pain. They reassessed her and said it was not looking good. They said she seemed to be suffering from a spinal injury, causing the paralysis. They explained it was possible to have surgery but there would be no guarantee it would be totally fixed and she would never be the same dog again. They told us we could come here and they could help us better by doing an MRI and having a neurologist look at her. It was devastating... but we chose to do as the vet said and bring her here.
They were out with a stretcher in about ten minutes. They braught her back right away and we waited to see somebody. It was a while. I was kinda expecting that though, it is an emergency vet. Finally a doctor came and got us. He agreed with our vet that she had a spinal injury and it wasn't very good. He explained that he could have them do an MRI, look over the results, then have the neurologist make a decision. He also emphasized that there was a 50% chance even with surgery that she would never make a full recovery and maintain a "quality life" as she once had.
My mother in law decided to at least do the MRI to see how bad the problem was. That was until he told us the cost. We knew it'd be expensive, but damn not what it was. He quoted "around $1800-$2000" for the MRI and "around $4000+" for the surgery. Then there would be aftercare costs and such. We were floored. My mother in law put her head in her lap and started to cry and said she couldn't afford that, especially when it was only a 50% chance of recovery. She had to make the awful choice to put down our beautiful girl. She was only 2 years old. So loving and kind, sassy and smart. She was my two little boys best friend.
My mother in law paid the bill and walked out. She couldn't handle the thought of seeing her dog be put down. So my 11 year old son and I decided to sit with her so she wouldn't have to die alone. Most heartbreaking thing I've ever done. The doctor who did it explained everything very thoroughly and answered any questions. He was very empathetic. Very gentle. The process was as peaceful as that can be I suppose. They allowed us as much time as we wanted/ needed with her before and after it was done. I am grateful for that.
I would never take an animal here..They almost killed my dog because of a negligent doctor.
My mom started taking her dogs nearly 20 years ago, and I have since started taking my dogs here. My mom only has good things to say about Dr. Kim. The staff are passionate and knowledgeable about animals and offer grooming and boarding in addition to veterinary services. I highly recommend this veterinarian.
Really seemed to care about Cali's health and well-being. They let me call and visit as often as I needed and gave good updates. Cali isn't the nicest cat to strangers but they still managed to help her which is amazing.
We feel Loki-Jem was taken care of so amazing. Every nurse and Doctor was so kind and really explained everything or us to understand. We appreciate the staff greatly. Loki-Jem is doing great. Thank you
We were there 3 times with our 2 dogs. We did wait a little longer but I think that would be expected without an appoitment. They took care of the "emergency" cases first then took care of us. The price was a little more but I think it was VERY FAIR.
Thanks for helping our dogs
Can I give 10 stars? I wish that were possible. WVRC is a savior for my cherished weenie dog. He was very very ill and the doctors at WVRC took him into their care and treated him like their own. The staff is amazing and patient and the doctors are so knowledgeable and straightforward. When I was feeling overwhelmed by updates, they gave me "my takeaways" which made things easier to understand and digest. My pet was treated like a person and not just a dog which is so amazing! Thank you WVRC for loving my baby as much as I do!
I recently had my dog at WVRC I'd like to thank Dr Mccaffrey and the rest of the staff for the excellent care my dog got. She had a cut under her eye that needed attention and did a great job. My dog is also on the elderly side and they took special care while she was sedated. Most important they take the time to explain what's going on....Once again thank you WVRC !
Understanding, patient and utmost respect for my pet. Very knowledgeable and took the time to explain in details options and concerns. Very friendly staff
WVRC really provided outstanding care for my pet, Vince. We saw Dr. Travis Reed at their Racine location and I really appreciate his help. He clearly was a knowledgeable person and took the extra time to call a radiologist to review my pet's x-rays. He discussed possible diagnoses in detail and provided me with options about how to proceed. I am a physician myself and I really respected his thought process and approach as it was very similar to my own. Unlike other vets that I have been to, I didn't feel pressured to pursue expensive testing or medication. In fact, the vet that I had seen at a different office charged me $600 for a routine office visit and x-rays. With Dr. Reed, I paid $95 and he was worth every penny. I wish I hadn't messed around with a different vet before I saw him. Although it took me 1.5 hours to drive to this location, I would make the longer trip to see him, thanks for the help.
WVRC is always professional and very understanding and compassionate to the worried "parent". I would never take my fur babies anywhere else during an emergency!
Felt the front desk staff was very friendly, however not a good vibe from the doctor/vet. The cost and the over dramatic presentation from the doctor of what the problem was seemed very much like a scam to make money off people s emotions. Contacting my local vet a few days later my pet has received much better care, been provided a much more clear answer of the problem for a fraction of the cost. Doing surgery is considered a last resort with my local vet instead of the 1st recommendation from WVRC. Seems like this emergency clinic is more concerned about making money then the well-being of the animals or helping owners who bring their furry friends to you in a time of need.
Was referred here by our Vet after xrays show what they were pretty positive was bone cancer. Since we had 2 weeks before our appointment, we did our research and weighed our options based on the information we got from our vet and opted to cancel the appointment because we made the decision we weren t going to treat our 11y/o labs bone cancer. We didn t want to spend thousands on something we knew wasn t a cure and would maybe give us a few more months and we didn t know what his quality of life would be and didn t want to put him through it.
Got a call from my vet today because they called them saying we cancelled and they wanted us to know that it maybe could be a fungal infection (which we also knew was an option) and that test only costs $500, or that how the scan presented it might not be bone cancer but cancer thats metastatic and has spread from elsewhere...regardless didn t appreciate what felt like was being tattled on and pressured to come in and spend money on an 11y/o dog. Cancer or fungal infection, both treatment options are expensive and we just can t justify spending the thousands for tests and treatments.
Felt like they were playing on our emotions and trying to give us a false hope, especially since I said when cancelling the appointment that we ve made our decision and have come to terms with it.
WVRC-Waukesha is always very attentive and caring. We've brought several animals there and always feel very well cared for.
Was able to be seen On a sunday when our vet was closed. Great service. Thanks.
Everyone we interact with there is always friendly. Our dog is a little afraid of slippery floors, and they go above and beyond to make sure she is as comfortable as can be when we get her checked in for her appointment (on a few occasions, they've put rugs or blankets down on the floor for her to sit on to help her relax a little bit). Open and honest about pricing and what they think needs to be done to best treat our dog.
Thankfully, Drs. Balog and Koplich are making sure my dog is properly diagnosed with active Lyme to treat her properly, unlike the local vet I use in Racine. They are making sure that nothing is over-diagnosed or under-diagnosed. Her heart condition is being checked and monitored and these doctors do not prescribe medication unless they truly believe it will help! I can't recommend them enough. And it was a lot cheaper than expected!
Vet tech was kind and caring. Dr explained procedure and future options in detail. Jasper was very nervous at first but settled down and the appointment went very well. Overall great experience during a difficult time.
I can't say enough about this compassionate group. I've had the misfortune of losing 2 of my pups within the last 3 months. These people are kind caring and just wonderful. Thank you.
If I could give 10 stars to this facility I would! On Thanksgiving my cat and dog got into a tiff and the cat dislocated her jaw. We took her to the vet near us and were told that fixing it would require surgery and cost upwards of $3000 More
The staff took great care of our puppy. They informed us of everything that was going on and called us with frequent updates. They had our puppies heath and well being come first.
First of all, let me preface by saying I m not one to write reviews. That being said, this place is absolutely incredible. I took my sweet Scooter to the vet a week ago unexpectedly, not knowing that would be my last day with him. Dr. Hayes gave me options and as much time as I needed to make the difficult decision to put him down. She made me feel like I was the only person in that building, despite having a lobby full of sick fur babies to tend to. She explained every step of the process for me and treated my Scooter like he was one of her own pets. They also mailed a personal card, a week later, wishing my family well. It s awful to lose a pet unexpectedly but if I had to choose where I d want to do it, it would be here! Every staff member in there is an angel and I wouldn t take a sick pet anywhere else! Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for taking care of my sweet boy and providing such comfort!!! I am forever grateful!
They are very knowledgeable and thorough. I feel much better getting their professional opinion about my animal. This is my second experience here and both times (with different pets) have been great.
Great customer service and very prompt. Was very caring and loving with our pet dog, Scarlett. Took care of her paw problem immediately. I would highly recommend!
Took my 8 year old lab in due to a referral from my vet. He had a mass on his chest. Had a biopsy & chest tap done. Told test results would be back within 2 days. Here I sit 5 days later with no results & dogs health deteriorating. Not a fan of this place at all.
I met with Dr. Koplitz with our 6 month old Rhodesian Ridgeback who was diagnosed with a murmur. She was very thorough, kind and very intelligent. She did an exam on our puppy and determined that he needed further testing to find out the cause of the murmur. Before performing any further tests she told me the cost of the test and what the possible findings would probably be. She did an echocardiogram and found out he has sub aortic stenosis (SAS). She explained what that meant using a diagram and asked me many times if I had any questions. I believe she really loves her job and loves animals by the way she talked to me and handled our pup. I would recommend anyone who needs a heart vet specialist to see her at WVRC!
Very friendly and calming people who waste no time getting your pet in to the doctor for examination!
My 5 month old puppy" Rosie " swallowed a fish hook and it was lodged in her esophagus. They were able to remove the hook without major surgery, and she is doing fine now! This was a bad situation made better by caring, knowledgeable people.
We have had to take both of our dogs here. Sadly, for our older dog, she had to be euthanized unexpectedly. Every single person we came in to contact with, from the front desk staff to the nurses and doctor, were so incredibly kind and compassionate. They let me stay in a private room for almost 2 hours so that I could spend as much time as possible before and after to say goodbye to our beloved dog. Additionally, we received a condolence card on our loss which was really heartfelt and thoughtful. I cannot say enough good things about the staff here. Top notch.
Expensive, but he lived. German Shepherd Dog hit by car. Diagnostic imaging, medications, 2x blood transfusions (internal bleeding), oxygen chamber, overnight stay. WVRC's capabilities saved the life of my best friend.
Thank you WVRC for the Emergency Care you provided.

Horrible customer service. Especially the Speciality Coordinator in Waukesha Danielle B. I called for an appointment only to put on hold for 10 minutes. After that I was transferred to Danielle B. which is the worst thing that can happen to you when dealing with this clinic. She was busy at the time so I left a message. She called back and I missed the phone call by mere seconds. I called back immediately hoping I could catch her. I was put on hold again for almost 15 minutes. I had to leave Danielle B. another message again. She never called me back. I called back hoping to catch her again, I was put on hold for 10 minutes. When they came back on they hung up on me. When I called again I was put on hold for another 10 minutes. When they finally came back they said Danielle B. had gone home. Is she really the only person there we have to deal with? My puppy needs special care and I am being messed around on. They do not care about their customers. It is worth the drive to a different clinic.
We had a great experience with all of the staff at WVRC. They were all helpful and love animals. We did wait a bit one of the times, but this is to be expected with how busy they were. Our puppy had two surgeries for his broken leg and Dr. Hurley took care of both of them. I really liked her and felt so comfortable with her taking care of Gus. She was extremely knowledgeable and explained things without getting irritated with all my questions. I would highly recommend her as a surgeon for those with animals in need.
My regular vet ran tests for a year on my poor Ginger to no avail, they finally admitted they couldn't find what was wrong with her and recommended WVRC. We went to the Emergency vet first who referred us to Dr. Balog who did everything in her power to run the proper tests to find out what was ailing our beautiful pup. The entire staff was compassionate. Sadly her cancer was too far advanced and they could not save her but Dr. Balog and her staff were caring and loving toward all of us in her final hour and we couldn't be more thankful. Our other dog, Coco will only be seen by WVRC in the future, they are wonderful and very thorough and there isn't a better hospital in WI.
WVRC vets and staff are exceptional in their ability to diagnose and treat serious conditions in dogs. Our beloved doberman Cub has a heart condition and Dr. Koplitz and her team were attentive to every detail of Cubs care. Cub is too big to fit on a table so the vet and techs all worked with him on the floor. They go the extra mile. Thanks Dr. Koplitz.
I thought you were great. Everyone was very courteous and great with our dog! You showed true concern and interest in our needs and the well being of our dog. You took the time to discuss everything with us in detail beforehand and always asked if we had questions. Thank you!
Was referred to them by our vet. Very courteous and open to treatments of our dog's skin problem. So far the 1st treatment has been working.
I've been bringing my dog in to WVRC for various things over the past several years for everything from consultations to emergencies and surgeries and have always been extremely impressed by the knowledge and compassion of the veterinarians and staff. I still take my dog to his regular vet for routine checkups but for anything specialized, I feel confident he is always getting the very best treatment at WVRC. I wouldn't take him anywhere else.
Fantastic experiences there. My dog sees an eye specialist there, Dr. Accola. He is always on time, professional, very sharp. The revisits to check her out biannually are very reasonable for a specialist. Just run well, seem to really care and know their stuff.
Knowledgeable, kind, professional staff every time. Great job! Keep it up.
Excellent care every time we ve needed special medical services for our beloved Goldens.
Staff is so friendly and understanding! They helped my bleeding terrier in no time at all. Also prices are not bad at all. It s nice to not worry about that when something stressful is happening to your furry friend.
My vet directed me to WVRC because my 4 month old puppy found a toad and though it looked like a chew toy and subsequently started foaming at the mouth.
I was very upset and the staff was incredibly calming and comforting walking me through what to do. When I got there they called to tell me they spoke with the ER vet and confirmed there are no poisonous toads in WI, they just secret something bitter that led to the foaming at the mouth so I didn't need to worry if there weren't any other symptoms.
So they didn't charge me and were able to put me at ease that everything would be ok.
I am so grateful for the great customer experience and that they didn't take advantage of the situation to collect an ER visit fee. I will definitely use them again should the need arise and appreciate the integrity and compassion!!!
We have used them many times in the past for emergency, oncology, neurology and cardiac services. All were very positive experiences. When we had to say good bye to a pet they were very compassionate and supporting.
Professional , courteous and knowledable. The staff works hard to provide comfort for you and your pet. Dr Jambhekar was friendly and thorough -no stone left unturned. Follow-up is very good too! Be prepared for and expensive visit!
