Great care and communication! Thank you for saving our dog!
I came home for the holiday and had to bring my dog in. She required a surgery (eye removal) and the front desk and all vets were amazing. They were very kind and loving. Highly recommend.
whether you graduate #1 from the best veterinary school in the nation or graduate last from the worst school, they are all called Doctor and innocent patients are left to suffer. After having my golden retriever for 21 hours and still having no diagnosis because they did nothing more than an x ray - we picked him up and took him to lake geneva animal hospital. within 20 minutes we had an ultrasound and a blood test showing his liver was failing because he had Lepto. Do not entrust your loved one with these jokers. they failed to do basic baseline tests and to call them incompetent doesn't begin to tell the story. We lost a precious 24 hours where he could and should have been on an IV of antibiotics to treat the lepto - which can be fatal. Dr. Meghan Glazer and Dr. Karch should both lose their licenses. To make matters worse, the clinic director did not return my call to address my demand for a full refund for the money I paid in advance and in good faith in the expectation of competent care. They are hiding from taking responsibility.
Everyone was very kind and understanding as I was very upset about how sick my cat was. I truly thought she was going to die. The doctors and techs were very thorough when explaining what was going on, my options, and costs of everything along the way. The costs were reasonable as well considering it's an emergency vet. I swear it costs just as much here as it does at my pet's regular vet. The follow up calls were wonderful as well. In the end, you all saved my cat's life. I can't thank you enough!!!! WVRC has a special place in my heart. XOXO
On Sunday, my sweet cat (who had been very very ill all week) took a severe turn for the worst. We came home to him barely breathing. I rushed him to WVRC knowing that he was likely deceased when we arrived. I was A MESS. I could barely talk - the staff treated me like I was a valued family member. Literally every single person I encountered was SO good to me. Please know how grateful I am - to everyone who was there on Sunday 2/3 around 5:30pm. I know you didn't get to know my sweet cat, but he deserved the amazing care you gave us. Your kind, soft voices and gentleness to my kitty will not be forgotten.
We called ahead with our cats issues and when we arrived they took him in immediately. I can't say enough on how well they treated our pet!
I am visiting from a different state and while I was out to breakfast, my 96lb Akita decided to eat a bag of chocolate chips. They saw him immediately and induced vomiting. We are so grateful for the quick and efficient care. They also sent us with supplies for cleanup while we administer the activated charcoal on the road. Everyone was incredibly friendly and the prices were very reasonable. Hopefully we never need to return but would not hesitate to take our pets there again! Thank you all!
It is nice to know that professional urgent care is available 24/7 for my pets. I have utilized WVRC 4 times over the last 4 years and they have never failed to impress me with there professionalism and compassion for the situation that you are in. Although my most recent visit was not an emergency per say they still treated my pet as it was. This made me feel really good as they are part of the family!!
THE BEST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER! The staff members here are absolutely awesome! We had to put our cat to sleep, they were so sweet and sincere. They explained every step before putting her to sleep, once we were done they aloud us to stay in the room with her until we felt comfortable to let them take her. We also received a follow up phone call the next day to check on how we were doing. A few days later received a beautiful card in the mail! Hands down the best emergency vet!
Front office was extremely welcoming and comforting. The providers there were very helpful in offering many different options and what it would mean for those different options. There was no judgement or pressure choosing one option over the other. Appreciated every single employee there for each step of the process to make sure my pup was feeling better!
Can't say enough great things about WVRC. The staff is amazing- warm, friendly, professional, knowledgeable, just top-notch. We've been there now 3 times with our dog, each time being either an emergency or on a weekend. We've always been put in a room quickly, charges explained in detail ahead of time, and received a very personal level of care. I absolutely would recommend WVRC to all!
Receptionist our personable and well-trained. The veterinarians a very knowledgeable and you leave knowing your pet is in the best hands.
Took my cat in for the thyroid treatment. They took great care of him and me. Called me every morning, took their time letting me know how he was doing. I felt he was getting the best care possible for this situation.
If I could give zero stars I would. Though I know it was busy when I got there...there is so excuse to lying their clients. My primary vet faxed over my pups prescription at 10:30 in the morning. (They showed me proof of this because they were taken aback by my experience here) i got there at 1:5m Called for them to bring it out to my car since due to COVID-19 I could not go in. They said theY never received my prescription, and that it would be a few minutes because they asked me if I was already in the parking lot. 50 minutes later still no call...I could have driven to my vet and back in this time....don t say you 1.didnt get my prescription when you did 2. Don t say it will be a few minutes and then almost take an hour. Doesn t seem like good business practices to me, will not ever be returning.
Been going here for years in the good times and bad, even see my regular vet there Dr. Balog and she is amazing. Caring and super detailed/smart. Would recommend
For years we have relied on WVRC for our pet care - both with their specialists, and for emergent care. The staff are extremely skilled and incredibly kind. Our pets have been to multiple specialists at WVRC and they have ALL been amazing at their craft, transparent with their findings and treatment recommendations, and genuinely caring. We cannot say enough positive things about them.
The staff and doctors are very kind, respectful, and knowledgeable.
We have always used WVRC for emergencies & have been amazed at how quickly we are seen and at how affordable the visit is. The staff is always attentive & kind. We absolutely recommend WVRC for any pet health issue. Thank you so much for taking care of our pups.
This is a great place. I have been there probably 5 to 10 times over past 10 years for my dogs. They have always been really kind, friendly, compassionate, and understanding.
I always felt like the vets there knew what they were doing and had total confidence in them. I saw a "dog cardiologist" (which I didn't even know existed!) there for my dog who had an abnormal heart murmur and I swear I would have let this woman treat ME because she was so intelligent and competent. I do have to say, that they did do an EKG and a heart monitor and those tests/procedures were pretty pricey but at the end of the day that's just how much that stuff costs and the staff were very upfront about the costs beforehand and I did not feel pressured to spend the money if I didn't want to and they told me what alternatives there were.
I have also called several times about concerns about a pet and if I need to bring them in and they were so helpful over the phone. They would even tell you what to try and how to do it at home if they felt that you didn't really need to bring them and these calls are all free of charge. They have no ulterior motives and really seem to advise what is best for your pets.
I really wish that they did primary care so I could make them my regular vet. I have their number saved in my phone and posted on my refrigerator and it puts me at ease that if something goes wrong I know where to go.
Thanks, guys!
Knowledgeable and compassionate staff. Immediate treatment for my dog, and full explanation of treatment. Aftercare instructions were clear. My dog was feeling great after her overnight stay for observation. I would definitely take my pets here again for emergency treatment.
They did a great with our dog who was bleeding from her nose. It was late on a Saturday night and they saw us immediately.
My experience with WVRC (Waukesha) was phenomenal! The staff and doctors were exceptionally friendly, helpful and caring. We walked in and were called back within two minutes. The tech was very friendly and so was the doctor. The doctor came in with not only a plan of action for my little girl, but an estimated cost for Lucy's visit. The doctor was very proactive about calling my family and I and keeping us informed of how Lucy was doing. I also called a few times to ask for an update and they never hesitated to help or see if a doctor was available. If a doctor was not available at the moment to give an update, the client care representative would leave a message and the doctor would get back to me relatively quickly. That was greatly appreciated since I know Lucy was not the only patient being taken care of by the staff and doctors. I truly appreciate the kindness and generosity of every individual at WVRC. Thank you to everyone that helped saved my little girl's life. You all have a very special place in my heart, and I will never hesitate to come back if needed or refer a friend or family member. Your kindness and helpfulness did not go unnoticed nor will it ever be forgotten!
We were referred by our vet s after hours message when our new pet experienced a trauma. The service was excellent from first phone call to the animal hospital, through the examination and checkout. They were able to immediately screen him for obvious internal injury and give us a plan. So grateful that this after hours service is available when it is needed.
"We felt less anxious re: Maggie's condition/new disease dx. Every person we interacted with, from the front desk to ER Docs to Maggie's internest was fantastic! We appreciated the amount of time they spent explaining everything! I am a nurse and Maggie's discharge was very detailed. Her meds explained, f/u scheduled, possible adverse symptoms and gave opportunity for any and all questions. Most people dont get this great of a discharge when they exit the hospital! We love WRVC Mike & Jackie and Maggie "
It was my first time here and my dog needed an ultrasound. Overall it was nice and the people are nice.
Excellent facility. Treatment plan was explained perfectly and the office is very fairly priced.
The staff is fake and money hungry like most of the negative reviews here state. If you have money to drop on your animal they will give you service but do not go there if you're poor. My advice... Do as much research as you can online for options and/or research a neighboring clinic.
They are great with animals good experience they are very thorough and keep up-to-date with everything especially with medicine and testing and treatment. it can get very expensive but if you can afford it it's worth it for your pet or pets
Sat and waited for 2 hours for dog to be seen for dog bite wounds- had to call to get update on dog and she still was waiting to be seen- then the doctor calls and and tells you what they did and tell you somebody else will be calling to get payment info. Then somebody else has to call with discharge instructions! I understand there is a pandemic, but having to jump through so many hoops and you can t even go in with your dog while they are scared and have to call in order to get updated-very disappointed with experience- will go elsewhere in the future
Very caring toward both people and pets. Transparent on costs for various tests and procedures. Highly recommend, especially for complex health issues.
This place is absolutely amazing, really! A long time ago I had to take another cat to an ER clinic in Janesville and unfortunately they mis-managed my cat and she died. So when my cat got sick on Sunday, I was terrified to try another ER vet, but my friend suggested this place as she had just taken her dog there for puncture wounds from being attacked by another dog and she was THRILLED with how they treated her. She told me they have been there multiple times and have always had great care.
I experienced this first hand, from my first phone call to register him, to the lady to came and took him inside from the car, to literally every single person I have spoken to - THEY ARE AMAZING. You know how you can tell when your vet/staff likes animals? Well this place does love your pet, and they treat you like they understand how much your pet matters to you.
My cat is still there right now, he had a bladder obstruction and they were so swift in taking care of him, relieving his pain and have kept me informed every single step of the way. I own a call training company that focuses on customer service phone skills, and this place has been incredible. I am highly critical, and they have really exceeded my expectations.
If you love your animals like they are your family, I would highly suggest considering this place if you have an urgent medical issue with your pet, or if you were referred here by your vet for something else.
WVRC provided me and my dogs absolutely outstanding emergency and specialty veterinary services. It s not just the expertise and the quality of the care; it is the compassion with which that care is delivered. It s truly awesome to have a resource in SE Wisconsin such as WVRC.
Dr. Williams has been amazing to work with through these difficult health issues and her staff is great too! I ve experienced great customer service from the front desk as well.
I was referred by my vet to come here. So I drove 2 hours one way for the visit. Once here I was given my options on care and cost. I told them I wasn't going to spend all that money up front in tests, so I think I was put on the back burner. I waited in the parking lot for 6 and a half hours for my cats referral to be done. They came back and said yes something is wrong but since I wasn't will to spend the extra $1500 on a 14 year old cat that they dont know what's was wrong. I left spending $400 and got no answers.
I cannot say enough good things about WVRC. I had to take my wonderful old girl Ava there and they did what they could to help her. After spending a day and night there they actually got her stabilized and I got to take her home for almost a week. They took my phone calls at all hours and did outgoing calls to check on her. They treated my sweet girl very well but she was old and she just couldn't get through it. They were amazingly caring and followed up with a handwritten condolences card. Who hand writes cards anymore? WVRC does. Hopefully you will not need it but if your beloved pet needs emergency care, take them to WVRC.
Employees were kind and handled my dog very well. Wait time was longer than desired but could have been the circumstances as well.
Friendly, helpful, prompt service. I would take my pet again if necessary.
In the past 15 years, WVRC has helped three of our cats Avatar, Tasha, and Scooter for completely diverse reasons: euthanasia; cancer surgery and chemotherapy; urgent care. In each circumstance, your very qualified staff provided excellent care and customer service. The fact that you are open 24/7 for urgent care was an added bonus!
If you need to go here for an emergency, good luck! They will milk you for every cent and pressure you to open a Care Credit account so they can get thousands MORE from you. There was a 2 page list of drugs they gave my pet at hundreds of dollars a pop. Vets are turning into scammers and this one is especially bad. Better to have your pet put down if you are not rich, than go here and accumulate a ridiculous amount of debt.
They did a wonderful job of treating my cat s condition with the urgency it deserved, kept me involved and informed throughout the 24 hours of treatment, produced excellent results, and stayed under their estimated budget by more than $100. If you can t get your pet to your regular vet or have an emergency, like I did, I recommend taking them here. They will take care of you and your pet.
I took my cat there after I came home and she had swelling on her leg. I told them she had fallen off the bed and I thought she dislocated or broke it. The vet immediately started saying the mass was cancer and didn't listen. They examined her said nothings wrong with her leg but we should test the mass. Big surprise it came back as inflammatory cells, and even then they wanted a biopsy. I said no way and took her into our regular vet who found she had a broken elbow and was in serious pain. Do NOT bring your loved ones here they flat out don't care
Unfortunately our visit did not end happy but the care they showed our dog and us during our toughest moment was amazing. Hope we don't have to come back but they will be our first choice if we need to.
I highly recommend WVRC! The staff is wonderful and take the best care possible of my dog every time we are there. I trust them 100%! The front desk staff, ER staff and cardiologist are the best!
Anyone there remember Bitzee Boo Radley? 14 months ago Bitzee had a tumor, a vaccine-associated sarcoma, removed from his right flank. I believe Dr. Mulvaney at the Racine location performed the surgery, and Dr. Wirth handled pre and post care at your location. Bitzee is doing great, living the life of a healthy 13 year old cat. We want to thank all the staff at both locations for the compassionate care Bitzee received. Thank you for your good work.
Bob Gass, Mary Gass, and Bitzee
Won't ever take our dog here again. Misdiagnosed our dog and didn't start him on much needed antibiotics. Ended up spending a lot more money at our regular vet due to their poor assessment skills. At least the staff were friendly, that's why I gave them 2 stars.
I thought my dog was going to die. She is 12. 5 with a bad heart. She collapsed Wednesday morning and couldn t walk. When we arrived I was greeted by a team of warm , compassionate and knowledgeable group of people. The veterinarian that took care of my dog diagnosed her with something I have never heard of. She hopefully will make a full recovery from this particular disease. I have been in touch with them since with questions and advice as she requires a lot of care right now. She does seem to be slowly recovering each day. Thank you WVRC! So reassuring that help is a phone call away.
Karri and my dog Miley
A rock and a hard place. They provide a service needed so they take advantage of clients ($$$) and they know it. Glad my regular vet is wonderful, she mops up the mess after being seen at wvcr. It is what WI medical professionals human and animal have become over the years.
I was very happy and satisfied with everything about my experience at WVCR. The staff was very kind and caring.
We were having horrible digestive issues with our older Doberman. WVRC did an amazing job helping. They are compassionate and knowledgeable. Also good news our boy is doing much better!
Couldn't of picked a better place to take my sweet boy. My cat was in very bad condition and they did everything they could to keep him comfortable and alive. The doctor was great at updating me whenever she felt like she should do something or hand out advice. Sadly we had to say goodbye but they made it as comforting as possible. Highly recommend!! 10/10!
We have had a very pleasant experience with WVRC Waukesha. All the doctors and techs were extremely helpful and willing to spend time with us to answer any questions we had and made us feel like we really understood what was going on with our boy, Harley, as he stayed overnight for 5 days. They always greeted him with a smiling face and a treat. I can tell Harley was more comfortable at WVRC than he is at his normal vet and that is huge for us. Overall a great experience.
Very proffesional, timely and friendly .They did wonders for my sick pooch.
Would give 10 stars if I could.
The staff and doctors were very compassionate and understanding when I brought in my "garage " cat ,who was very ill and had to be put to sleep. They were very kind and caring.
Staff was so amazing and caring. It was a very busy day and staff kept on smiling no matter the situation. Thank you for taking care of Reagan. The community is blessed to have such a resource.
I took my dog Shorty to the Waukesha Referal Center and because he was very lethargic. After spending from noon till 9 at night I was told that they would do an aspiration of a mass they saw and would call me with the results on Tuesday. Whether it was cancer or not. This was Saturday when I spent the day there. The Dr.called and left me a message saying the needle they used for the aspiration was to small and they did not get enough of a sample.I was not going to put my dog through the stress of repeating the test and called the administrator to say I would like to be credited for the test,as my own Veterinary said I should not be charged for something that did not work or give me any results.I still have not seen a credit so I would not recommend going here.
They have shown so much dignity and respect to myself and my pets, especially when we have had to put down 2 of my furry friends. Thank you for your unwavering support and dedication to our 4 legged friends!
I would like to change my review from one star to five stars only because of Dr. Colin Berg. It's obvious to me that the first time we visited and I gave my review below, that was a bad doctor and not a reflection of the entire organization. Dr. Berg showed compassion and was very in tune with our feelings regarding our dog on the last day of his life. He explained things so we could understand them easily. He is a doctor who truly cares about the animals well-being.
I give them one star because they were open and because zero is not an option. Dr. Patton was very put off by the fact my dog was sneezing on her because he could not breath though his nose. I basically had to do the hands on exam myself because she didn't seem confident enough in touching him OR just didn't want to. Unfortunately there isn't anywhere else to go when your vet is closed. I am very unhappy with the "service" we received for our family member.
Updated 11/18/17
As a show of good faith, WVRC did refund $70 of the $121 charge. The exam fee was $94 and the unnecessary medicine was $27. The manager I spoke with on the phone was very nice about the whole thing and defended the doctor for which I give her credit. I appreciate the manager's position in this instance and I believe she handled it very well.
Dr. Schamberger was arrogant and unprofessional. Needs to seriously work on her people skills. You don't look at a customer and rudely ask "do you understand what I'm telling you". My dog didn't even like her. Will be going to a different specialist for any dental issues for my dog. I would not recommend her!
Everyone is always so amazing and kind when we have had to visit. We've, luckily, only had to bring in 3 emergency cases. Thank you for being there for our sick and injured pets!
Great place, staff and Doctors. They treated my dog as if it was their own.
While we've had some good experiences here, our last visit fell short on behalf of Dr. Quigley, who failed to demonstrate the basics of patient care which is listening. We provided information to multiple individuals during our intake, including the Dr. himself to only be asked by the Dr. 6 hours later for the information again. It was also during this time that I came to find out that the treatment I had approved 4 hours prior hadn't been given. I realize that WVRC is an emergency center, but for it to take 4 hours to give an anti-vomit shot is unreasonable. Based upon the experience with Dr. Quigley, I'd rate the experience negative. However, the tech who greeted us and met us when we left, Jenny is amazing and listened with care and compassion which was greatly appreciated through the entire process and for that I give Jenny a 5. She shared our issues with staff who followed-up with us, which was also greatly appreciated. We will give WVRC a try again, however we will never see Dr. Quigley again.
I called first, on a Saturday evening about 9:30pm, to triage symptoms, ultimately deciding to head in. The woman who answered the phone was friendly and patient, and listened to me. She reassured me and was very kind.
Upon arrival, we were greeted warmly and the staff at the front desk were efficient in getting the cat checked in to triage and getting paperwork to me.
I felt that everyone was helpful and the communication very good. Someone came to get us and put us in an exam room when the doc wanted to speak with us and show us imaging. The doc laid out options first, and then went back through the list of options with pricing to help us make the decision what tests to do next. She also shared her opinion on necessary versus not, and what her suggested plan would be -- ultimately giving us freedom to make our own decision. We felt very comfortable with the doctor and with our plan.
Our sick cat also warmed up to the team, purring and loving on them within an hour of arrival. I will definitely recommend WVRC to others!
I've been using WVRC for 12 years now. I have complete trust in them to take care of my dogs.
Thanks for taking care of My Ernie (The Best Cat Ever) and thank you for the paw flower seeds / Sympathy card from the staff. Recommend care for all pet owners.
My dog has had surgery here and I can not recommend this business.
If you are unable to get to your vet or they are closed, this is the place to be for immediate assistance. They can perform tests, i.e. blood test, urinalysis, etc. right there and get quick answers. They are polite, efficient, knowledgeable and friendly. I recommend them highly.
Love WVRC! They took care of my pup and really cared about her well-being...I will not take her anywhere else for urgent care.
Everyone was so nice and friendly and informative. The phone call updates were a blessing to hear how my dog Molly was doing. She made friends with everyone! It was great to know that my dog was in good hands!
staff is very good, am very happy with care provided to my Rusty, Dachsund
Great veterinary hospital for your lovely dog and cats. Very nice and professional people!
When I left the hospital after 3 hours I feel good of the attention my litle dog received
WVRC was wonderful to deal with. I am currently in Europe on Vacation. My dog ate a metal object and they were able to pass the obstruction safety and were so wonderful about talking me through everything over the phone! I felt helpless being on the other side of the world and they really put me at ease.
Wonderful place for our dog who had to be hospitalized due to her condition. When we got her back a few days later she was in way better spirits and even looked better. The staff went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable and answered all our questions.
If I could give negative stars I would! 30k last year and put my bud through hell. Rough night tonight and he was puking badly so I go in... big mistake! No customer care, no results, no one can help till tomorrow. I mean what s the point of being an er if you only work normal vet hours, my vet can do that! Thatnks for taking 120 bucks in 20 min and doing nothing and almost killing him last year. Be a real vet and care about these animals and less about $$$. I ll never come back!
Our dog Misty has had two leg surgeries over the last few years at WVRC. Both times, the doctor was very thorough in diagnosing the problem and fixing it through surgery. The lab techs are also very patient in explaining all we need to know post surgery and in answering all our questions. You can tell they care very much about the animals that come through there.
Would not recommend this place if your pet is in actual need of emergency care. Took my pet here, and it took them over 3 hours just to see him. Had to keep calling for updates and the vet kept calling my pet by the wrong name. Concerned that they're mixing up patients. Awful vet service and staff. Wouldn't recommend to anyone. Nickel and dime ya kind of place.
WVRC has been a lifesaver for my pup. They have provided top notch care and are always helpful. I have direct contact with my dogs cardiologist and they always return my calls and keep me informed. I only wish I had met them earlier in my dogs disease process. Thank you for all you do for my stud puppy.
Friendly staff from the get go. The front desk was welcoming, the technician who took our dogs information, and the surgeon. We received phone call updates at least twice a day and calls since we brought her home. Everyone we had contact with were professional, kind and caring.
We've been to WVRC twice and had a positive experience both times. The staff was knowledgeable and courteous and the doctors took enough time to thoroughly explain diagnosis and treatment. Would definitely recommend!
If I could give less than one star I would. Brought my dog in for lethargy, no appetite, stiffness. He is a hunting dog and I suspected Lyme disease. I mentioned this to the vet and she said they need to run a full abdominal scan, even though no vomiting or diarrhea, with blood work. Told me to come back as it would be an hour or two. 4 hours later get a call back that everything is negative. Iam on my way to pick him up when she calls me and says oh by the way I just checked and he has Lyme disease!!! OK. When I get there she has already prescribed me pain meds....50 of them, anti nausea medicine, (he never had stomach issues ) and the antibiotic. All that wasted money for an unneeded abdominal scan and all these pills, except antibiotic, completely ridiculous. He has taken two doses of antibiotic and is much better. Never gave him anything else. This place trys to get you to spend money for things that are not needed. They try to use peoples emotions and love for their pets to get you to agree to tests and treatment not needed. Had to also talk her out of an anti-nausea injection which made no sense since there was no GI issues. Made me feel guilty for rejecting this! Iam looking for a better option next time!!
If I could pick zero stars I would. I called there to seek up for the dog my wife got me for my ptsd. I asked if could bill me since at this time was tight on money. The response I got from the lady was well if you can't afford your dog we can give it to a forever home that way someone can provided for the dogs need. I was heart broken that I got that as a response for asking for help. I don't even belive this clinic should even be open. These people are heartless people who clearly don't care. I do hope they read this as well cause for a clinic to say thay to a person is mind blowing.
I just got off the phone with Dr. Melissa Hayes. Not only her but the staff at this facility is absolutely amazing. Dr. Hayes was the most amazing vet ever. She talked to me for an hour. NEVER made me feel like I was on a time limit. She is absolutely incredible. I called there last night wondering why my dogs bark was sounding different and they didn't say Hey you need to come in they reassured me and made me feel amazing. Dr. Hayes is flipping amazing. Also, Dr. Urbaniak
Communication is excellent. Updates were provided as stated. All vets and technicians were very informative, knowledgeable, and took time to answer all of our questions. We felt confident in everyone that was involved in our pet's care. The staff are compassionate and caring making the stress of having a very ill pet somewhat less stressful.
Everyone was pleasent and helpful. The cardiologist spent time explaining everything in detail and answered all my questions. Very thourough.
The staff was very friendly. They were very supportive and was great with my dog.
Pup decided some wires would be a good chew toy, turns out they aren't.
Alissa helped me induce vomiting over the phone (never had to do it before so she explained it and was very helpful in letting me know what to expect) They also got us in right away for x-rays just in case since it had copper wires inside.
I have had to come in twice now (once for our kitten that had a seizure) and both times everyone has been super friendly and amazing with our fur babies. Even if another place opens up closer to where I live I will still go to the Waukesha location if I need to because you can trust everyone there.
do not use this place!!! I called today about my dog bleeding and they would not take my dog in to fix him. the lady on the phone has no empathy about the condition and wouldn't refer another place. when I called the emergency clinic in Madison they didn't hesitate at all to say bring him in.
why operate an emergency clinic to refuse to treating animals. pretty sad if you ask me
Friendly, professional and competent staff. Trustworthy.
A little expensive perhaps.
Everytime I have taken my dog in for care the staff is very nice. The vets are thorough and caring and take their time to be figure out what is wrong. I'm very happy with them!
Dr. Carlson provided great care for our dog when an emergency came up in the middle of the night. She provided updates to us regarding the status of our dog and she was straightforward and honest with what the best options were for us. The receptionists were very pleasant and welcoming. Thank you for taking such great care of our dog! Staff is very helpful, communicated well, and caring!
Never will take a dog there again!! Glad I moved to Central Wisconsin, where they care about animals before money!!!
"I am so glad that I made the appointment. I learned so much about the condition my dog has and how to move forward in keeping her comfortable and happy. Not only do I now understand it better, I feel we definitly had a proper and full exam by a doctoor who understands it too. Thank you so much!

My experience with WVRC Waukesha was fantastic. The doctors and staff were friendly and caring, and I felt a sense of professionalism from everyone there. The doctor was great - she didn't just throw a bunch of options at me and ask which one I wanted to pick, she gave me solid recommendations as to my cat's treatment and was upfront about the costs. In the unfortunate event that I need to bring one of my pets to an emergency vet again, I'll be bringing them back there. A big thanks to everyone who worked hard to get my little kitty healthy again!
Of course I would prefer to go to my regular vet, but when they are unavailable, I don't even consider WVRC second best. They are just an extension of my vet, and in complete partnership with them. They are always available to get us in when my pets need help, and the price is reasonable for emergency service. But first and foremost, the staff is exceptional - professional and caring. I am so thankful to have WVRC!
About 5 weeks ago our dog, Lincoln, was diagnosed with lymphoma. Dr. Custead was absolutely wonderful. She spent a lot of time with us explaining all of our options. When it was ultimately time to put Lincoln down I had requested that Dr. Custead take care of that for us. She made time in her schedule and was incredibly empathetic. I would highly recommend WVRC to anyone - especially those going through a difficult cancer diagnosis.
We were very satisfied with our experience with WVRC. Our dog fractured his tooth and had to go under general anesthesia to have the tooth removed. This was a higher risk procedure for our dog because he has a heart murmur, but it had to be done in order to avoid his fractured tooth becoming infected. Our Cardiologist is already at WVRC, Dr. Koplitz, and we met with her to check on his heart before the dental procedure to confirm he could be put under general anesthesia with precautions taken for his heart. Dr. Koplitz, the Anesthesiologist, Dr. Shipley and the Dental Specialist Dr. Schamberger worked together to make sure our dog was watched closely, all precautions for his heart were taken and their teamwork and communication before, during and after the procedure was very much appreciated and thorough. Each specialist has a team that works with them and meets with patient's owners to make sure before and after the procedure you have all your concerns and questions answered. We were very worried about this higher risk procedure, but knowing it had to be done, we felt we put our dog in the best care and are forever grateful to all the teams that took excellent care of him. He is home with us now and on the mend. We would highly recommend WVRC and are thankful they were there for us during a very scary and stressful time. A special thank you to Rita, the Dental Technician, for taking extra time to talk with us before and after our dog's procedure making sure we had each and every question and concern answered. Also, we see Dr. Koplitz regularly for our dog's heart murmur and she always spends extra time explaining how his heart is doing with us, she is so caring and has a wonderful team. When your beloved pet has a heart disease it is incredibly hard and you feel lost when you first find out this news. I am grateful to have Dr. Koplitz as his heart doctor, she has helped us stay on top of his heart murmur, manage his medication and given us the knowledge we need to know as parents of a dog with a heart murmur.
Basically, if your pet is not DYING don't go there. They did save my cat's life so I will never be able to repay them for that. But I brought in a sick dog last night because I called and they told me to. I waited with the sick dog for over three hours and she never got an exam. I was falling asleep on the floor in the exam room and so after two and a half hours of sitting alone in a room I went out into the waiting room. I had to use the rest room and didn't know what to do. I wanted coffee but I could not get any because I had to hold the dog. :( So I used my sick dog to cheer up the people who had dead or dying pets in the back. It seemed to work and they should get volunteers to do that. It was helpful. I won't throw them under the bus they have a terrible job to do but really do not go unless it's actually life threatening or prepare to spend alot of time and money for nada. Just go to your vet.
We can,t thank you enough for the professional care you gave our Sadie Jo.
Bringing in a cardiologist, neurologist and internist. We knew our pet was in good hands. All veterinarians kept in contact with us every day on her status. Everytime we called to check in a Dr came to update us. The ER was very busy but the staff was always pleasant and helpful. A clean clinic. We thought we would never bring our Sadie Jo home but we did and she is recovering very well. Thank you again for your care down to giving her hugs and kisses for us. Would definitely recommend you hands down.
Wonderful experience overall! Friendly staff, did not have to wait long, and had an answer within a few hours where our dog's cancer was it (happy to say, she checked out great!!!)!
