Twelve Years Minimum Regained!
Hair loss at the top center of my scalp was becoming significant. Engaged in several online sessions researching the various hair restoration methods employed from days past to the present. ARTAS robotic assisted follicular unit extraction (FUE) was described on several web pages as new and effective, which led me to...Dr Yates Hair Science! Several Dr Yates online videos answered my preliminary questions, one being that the front hairline is placed higher when one is older. (This was starting to look good.)
Scheduled a consultation soon afterward to confer about my candidacy. Both Dr Yates and Robin the chief nurse examined my existing hair closely for quite a while. To their credit they will not recommend a specific surgical procedure should they determine the results will not be optimal and will present alternatives. It was determined that I had plenty of donor hair just above the neckline, hence ARTAS was the path to take. Surgery time was scheduled just after Christmas 2013.
The surgery was extensive with 3000 hairs being moved which I surmised was going to prove to be a full day (see my future patient advice below). Those with fewer hairs to relocate will experience a shorter day, likely five to nine hours. Mine took over twelve. Bear in mind, artists are never to be rushed.
Local anesthesia is used so any discomfort is minimal. Once underway just relax! You may be asked to slightly change position a few times.
All the staff and Dr Yates keep patients informed every step of the way while you're under their care and, in most cases, will want to see you several months afterward to check on the regrowth progress. Your body will regrow the hair on its own schedule, generally five to seven months (compare it to how fine wine ages!).
Patient-to-future patient advice: Get a restful sleep the night before. Block out time for the entire day of surgery. During the procedure resist the temptation to take frequent pauses and breaks, if possible (however you will be graciously accommodated). All the nursing crew are themselves artists in their craft and, once working their skills implanting your donor hair follicles, let them stay "in the zone." There's a rhythm to their workflow gained by years of experience. Your surgery will likely conclude sooner too!
My results: Family, friends, coworkers and strangers all now judge my age to be 12 to 15 years younger. If you are like me and have your your hair colored at your favorite establishment you're really home free! Confidence increases and you will once again enjoy the sensation of wind blowing through hair now present "up there," so go ahead, roll down the car window, climb aboard that sailboat, or saddle that horse and gallop!

I had a fantastic experience! This was my first time having injectables done (Botox to my forehead and Restylane for my lips). The office is gorgeous and welcoming, the reception staff were very friendly and accommodating. Ashley herself is an artist! Laser hair removal has always been something I've wanted to do but just hadn't found a place I wanted to go to. Back earlier this year, an influencer I followed in Chicago had nothing but great raves about it for underarm hair removal. I ve done a lot of research about getting a fue hair restoration procedure done for 3 or 4 years now and going to Dr. Yates was definitely the best decision to make. Not to mention most qualified! I m a 25 year old African American so finding someone who specializes with my hair style is very important. I had been contemplating a hair restoration procedure for quite some time but didn t do anything until I got tired of looking and feeling older than I was. I did my research and spoke to my stylist at the salon that I go to and found that many of their client s (men and women) have had successful hair replacement therapies performed. A couple of their customers suggested Dr. Yates so I made an appointment. I m so glad that I did.
From my initial appointment with Scott I felt comfortable and knew that I had made the right decision. He went through all of my options and we chose an option that made sense for me. The surgery went great and 10 months later I have a great new head of hair. I m excited to work with my stylist now to find the right cut for my new hair and try hair care products that I haven t used in a long time.

Came here for a dysport treatment with Ashley Bohling, the physician assistant injector. I was a little nervous before hand but she made me feel right at home. She was very welcoming, knowledgeable, and friendly. Looking forward to my next visit!
I m updating my review because I have been constantly harassed by this office to come in for services, specials and follow ups when everything was supposed to be closed due to covid.
Scripted reviews. Save your money and time. He comes in the room does a few grafts and boom leaves. The whole spiel on placement of hairs and how they face is a total scam. The assistants did the whole procedure basically which they were nice. I was told they did 1127 grafts but I know for sure it was around 500. Did not feel my self poked that many times. My area grew in a few months, but I still had patchy spots. Most have fallen out and I m back to square one out close to $10k. I never received an appointment to come back in for follow ups which a Scott was in charge of. He never got back to me when I asked how come they didn t ask me to come in to check progress. Dr. Yates seems like a nice guy but he s just another guy with money looking for another person to fall victim for a transplant. No wonder he got sued by Bosley. Going to oak brook for another fue treatment. Find a different doctor this place isn t what it is cracked up to be. Mancow lied.
Couldn't get past the lobby, which is just the most self-aggrandizing shrine of self-promotion I've ever seen. Plus, the title character came into the office 15 min after my appmt start time, with a tennis partner, sweating, and they had the gall to tell me it would only be a few more minutes, meaning what, he wasn't even going to take a shower?? Couldn't bring myself to pay for any more of his tennis lessons...
Being happy with your physical appearance is something satisfying. One of the best investments to my person, I feel satisfied with the results of my surgery.

It's been about 7 years since I first met Dr. Yates and Scott (Patient Consultant) and had a frontal FUE procedure. Dr. Yates and Scott were the reason I felt comfortable and confident in moving forward with the procedure and I'm so glad I did. I came from out of state to have Dr. Yates perform the body sculpture on me. I had researched other locations and found this one to be the most affordable. The staff was very knowledgeable and answered every question I had with accuracy. They made me feel very comfortable before, during, and after the procedure. The procedure had very little discomfort, no downtime, and I was back at the gym the next night. I have gone down an inch on my waistline so far and still have a few weeks to go until I see the full results. I will definitely be back!
Their hair laser removal technician misses so many parts, so you have to get more sessions of treatment and you have to pay more.
I had my lips done recently as well as 40 units of Botox with Ashley. The right side of my upper lip was significantly larger and very lumpy. My Botox was done incorrectly because of my eyebrows was raised much higher than the other. I would not recommend anyone to get procedures here.

If you want great results, this is the place to go, I vistes two other hair transplant doctors before seeing Dr. Yates and the quality of care at the other 2 places was sub par compared to what I received with Francisco and Yates team.
My consult was with Francisco, he s the most caring and detailed oriented person. I didn t feel rushed out and he answered all the questions I had, he explained the procedure to detail and talked to me about exosomes. Dr. Yates came into the consult to evaluate me and although he wasn t as communicative as Francisco (completely different personalities), he also made sure to review everything with me.
My procedure was a few weeks ago, I had a transplant and exosome treatment and I m very pleased with everything. The nurse-techs that help during the procedure are super professional and reassured me through my surgery, they reviewed all discharge instructions with me and when I checked out, Francisco was there again to make sure everything went good.
Don t waste your time going to any chain hair transplant doctor, if you want the best, this is it.

Dr Yates is a professional. He discusses procedures and expected results clearly and with a candid and honest description. I had good results and I knew exactly what to expect every step of the way.
Received a service. Good talker, barely noticeable results and the follow up is non-existent. If you want to pay a ton of money and never hear back, go with this surgeon. All the accolades won't translate to any decent treatment service or appropriate aftercare.
I went for consultation with Dr Yates in Vernon Hills. Instead I was evaluated by technician/sales person. The Dr was busy in meeting with what appeared to be sales people. The Dr was finally able to come in, dressed in expensive suit. He seemed detached and uninterested. He was not very conversive and was not very welcoming, nor offered much detail. I felt like I was taking up his time, and not valued. I was quoted about $12k for about 1,250 Grafs. It did not appear like a medical facility, but more like a business focused on marketing to the elite.
I did my research before venturing off to see a hair doctor and decided to see Dr. Yates based on all the great reviews he has. I'm so glad I scheduled my appointment, now I just have to wait and see results!

Entire staff mislead me from the start. Dr. Yates only did part of the procedure, the plugging on the top of the scalp and plugging on the donor area. Medical assistants removed plugged or grafted hairs and inserted them into scalp. Dr. Yates did not follow up on their work and failed to examine my scalp post procedure. One assistant was not trained properly and I was in significant pair during procedure and post. Supposed to have 2,000 graphs but I feel I received half that based on post procedure examination of supposed area graphed to,no signs of scabs or crust in areas I specifically showed Dr. Yates. No respect shown to me by Dr. Yates as a patient or person. Take your business else where, I wish I had.

I first came to Dr. Yates when I realized I was having severe hair loss at my hairline and the top of my head. I noticed my hair loss in medical school and decided to do something about it when it got worse during my residency. I specialize in clinical research dermatology and I was looking for a doctor that really understood the science behind hair restoration. I also wanted to find someone that had the surgical skills it takes to perform this procedure. I did a nationwide search and asked my colleagues who was the top doctor in the hair field and that s when I was referred to Dr. Yates. After researching him I found out that he is a board-certified (by the ABMS) surgeon. That was really important to me. If you are wondering what ABMS is please look into this before choosing your hair restoration surgeon. Being in the medical field myself I knew that he had put in the years to perfect his surgical skills. For those that are wondering, that makes a huge difference in the success of the procedure and whether it looks natural or not. Regarding my hair transplant, I can say that it was one of the best decisions and investments I have made in my life. It gave me back my confidence and the hair I used to have. I ve had the best laser hair removal experience here with Nikelle! I started getting a Brazilian laser hair removal, loved it so much that I went and also got my entire face and under arms removed too! Dr Yates gets 5 stars on everything. I got my procedure and it was painless. Since walking in to my consultation I was treated like a star. His staff is very friendly and they know what they are doing. I was back to work a few days after my transplant and now, an it over a year ago. After that I came back for some more grafts to be transplanted and now people don't stop telling me how good and young I look.

I did the PRP treatment a little more than a year ago with Dr. Yates and I had absoulutley no results from it. It was very frustrating since it costed me $1700..... The staff was very nice, they offerd me the laser therapy for twice a week.

When I moved to Chicago, I started looking at several medspas and found this one through Instagram, it looks phenomenal but it s just Instagram pretty, Nikelle lacks professionalism and has no idea about hydrafacial, this procedure should take 50-60 minutes and she gets you out the door in 20.
Right before me, she had another patient and she did not change sheets in between, it s a revolving door.
As I was being escorted to pay, I tried telling her that I wasn t happy and she just said that the front desk will take care of me while telling the girl at the desk how much to charge me, the girl was as co fused as I was and Nikelle was rude to her to.
I called Nikelle the next day and message her several times but all she did was say that that s the way it is, she offered me a laser at a discounted price and I declined because if she can t do a facial, I won t trust her with a laser.
The other people at the office are really nice and the office has a good atmosphere. Nikelle s room is dirty, she re-uses towels and tools, she s not a real esthetician. I won t be making back to Nikelle, it s a shame that all the money I spend on my face will go somewhere else.
I had my first appointment with Ashley and I can t say enough good things. I ve had procedures done elsewhere throughout the chicagoland area, but after finding her work on Instagram (real pictures of real clients), I had to switch injectors. I had Botox and my lips done and she did such a great job. Having procedures done elsewhere prior; I went in with pretty high expectations and she definitely delivered. My forehead lines are completely gone as well as my minor crows feet around my eyes. My lips have a great pout and aren t overdone. I did have some bruising for my lips but that s very normal for me.
I m heading back for a vampire facial and microneedling session and couldn t be more excited. Highly recommend Ashley! She definitely knows what she s doing.
Working with Ashley was easy, comforting, and educational. She is extremely devoted and passionate about her work, making you feel at easy throughout the process. Not only is she friendly and kind, but she is professional and precise. I feel confident in her skills and would highly recommend working with her. She is brilliant!
Love everything about this office!! Great and knowledgeable staff, super convenient location. Dr. Yates is truly the best hair restoration doctor out there, and the fact that he owns a medspa is just heavenly, I can get all I need/want in one place.
Tara is an amazing esthetician, Ashley is magical injector.
Most of these reviews seem a little scripted.... Maybe it's because my experience was not as altering as others. Received +2000 grafts. Looks more like 1000. Hair looks better, but its a very minor improvement and not even remotely close to what the expectation is for over 2000 grafts. The spacing and gaps are very noticeable with poor density. I still take propecia and use a laser comb but if I had to do it over I would go elsewhere or save my money. Dr. Yates and his staff are nice, which is why I even considered giving them stars.

I had my F.U.E w/ prp procedure. 850 grafts On 3.8.2019 today is 3.15. 2019. 7 days after procedure. And I would like to thank the Dr. and staff for their good work politeness and answering all questions I had. Very informative in regaurd to my questions. Very little pain right now in donor site cause my hair is growing back, decided to shave. I'm a tender headed person. Evertime I check donor site has density.Some scabs are gone. From start to finish the doc and his team did their thang like it was nothing. I thank them. Hope this helps anybody.
