Okay location a few blocks away from times sq and one avenue away from Penn station - but not really in the heart of anything. Clean but basic accommodation, smelly bathroom, friendly front desk staff.
It was great, especially the stuff who were always pleasant!
Room comfortable enough, staff great, not bad location
The north hotel sits right in the heart of times square. We stayed in a suite with a king bed and a fold out bed. The room was clean. Everyone we meet was professional and courteous. The only complaint I would have is the lack of cheap bottled water in the hotel.
The hotel was very neat, clean and staff was very attentive and professional.
The rooms are too small, the staff is not that courteous and helpful.
Sharing global standard Hilton standards and check-in information, procedures are smooth, rooms are priced in New York and Manhattan areas
Zero water pressure! In fact I could have showered in the sink easier! There tank is supposedly broken and won t be fixed any time soon.
High quality hotel with good beds and breakfasts. Close proximity to times square
Good service, small but comfortable rooms, breakfast a bit too simple with few options.
Rude staff. There were stains on the quilt. Never again.
Employees nose in the air. There are stains on the quilt. Hilton just got called.
I made a stop at this hotel and it was enough to understand the quality of the service and the dedication of the employees. Congratulations to the whole team.
I informed the front desk while checking in that the reservation agent repeatedly informed me that parking was free, even when I asked her to double check and confirm with me, which she did. The hotel staff's insulting and condescending response was: no hotel in the city provides free parking.
I informed the front desk during check-out that one of the rooms we occupied had a broken coffee machine (then the free coffee at the bar ran out in the morning), as well as a broken thermostat/heater and the other room's shower stall flooded. The staff's response was: thanks for letting us know.
At no time was any attempt made to actually do anything to make our stay better or give me a reason to come back. I booked 2 double rooms for the 5 adults in my party and I will definitely give my business to another property and hotel chain on my next trip because the last time I checked, my hard-earned dollars are accepted anywhere. I will also let all my family and friends know about my extremely disappointing experience.
I had two stays at this hotel. During my first stay, my room's floor was soaking wet. My second stay, the AC was broken on a hot, humid night. Both times I had to stay in these unsatisfactory rooms for well over $200 a night, because no other rooms were available. These rooms should never have been booked out in the first place. These are obvious issues that cleaning or maintenance staff should have noticed after prepping a room. The staff were nice and respectful, though. Overall I don't recommend staying at this hotel.
Good for what we wanted...priced reasonably for NYC. Great location! Great service! Extremely small rooms and narrow hallways...pack light! Queen beds were actually doubles. Breakfast was ok...but service made up where the food lacked. Valet parked our car for $55 per day. Breakfast was included in the price of our stay. I would recommend bringing an extra towel from home...only gave us 3 for 5 people, we didnt ask for more. We would stay here again.
Visited NY to see a show at the Garden and stayed here for a weekend. Hotel is located 1 block from Madison Square Garden (8-10 minute walk) and a few blocks from Times Square (15 minute walk). The room was clean and the customer service was exceptional. If you choose to stay here, order the French Toast for breakfast through room service, it is delicious!!!
The location is great the staff is great they also give you a big warm cookie after you check in! The room was clean and a decent sized space compared to many other places I ve stayed at in Manhattan. However, the only complaint is the Hvac system is kinda noisy and some places needs a little touch up paint. Other than its amazing for the price! Would recommend and tell a friend!
Hot water not included. I wish I could give a negative rating. Please avoid this hotel as there are far better, cheaper options available. We spent two days without hot water in our room. Staff could not be bothered to assist in any way. Add the cramped rooms and 5-10 minute waiting times for the elevator and you have the worst hotel stay I have ever experienced. Be warned.
If anyone writes a review saying this a good hotel is a LIAR! Awful and I'm a Hilton Honors member and this hotel is a disaster. The staff doesn't give AF! That starts and stops with the GM, who should be running a bowling alley from 1 to 7am somewhere to fit their skill level. Stay anywhere else
Clean. Comfortable beds and pillows. Extremely nice and accommodating staff. I only witnessed one rude lady at the front desk. She was very rude to an Asian gentlemen. I wish I had gotten her name.
Great service. Small, yet clean room. No wash cloths, for some reason.
The good room, good location, the other good for Manhattan Times Square
Horrible hotel. Broken elevator, leaky ceiling, poor customer service.
This hotel should be ashamed ... Just because you're in Manhattan doesn't mean you don't need to renovate! Over priced for what you get... Locked out of room for 20 minutes and no apologies... Awful!
The rooms are not bad especially since we were only in them long enough to sleep, and the people working have all been very friendly and helpful. The location is a little weird so taking taxis and Lyfts was a bit of a struggle, but there is also a ton of stuff close enough to walk to. It has also been surprisingly quiet for being as close to Times Square (also walking distance) as we are. Overall a pretty good experience for as little time as we spent actually in the hotel. The beds are super comfortable though.
Not bad, service was friendly and room was OK. Great location for a convention visit to city. Only two elevators and lots of floors so there was lots of waiting around. Also the construction around the hotel was loud, but not much you can do about that.
When I come to New York, I just stay in it, great location, and everything I expect from the stay.
The location is convenient, but that is it. We had to ask for a crib 3 times, finally got it by 9pm. The next day after our rooms was cleaned we were left with no towels, 3 phone calls ( 1 to the manager) ...and we still have no towels. Worst costumer service, I will never stay here again. On top of it all, the place smells and is in need of repairs. I cannot believe this is a Double Tree!
Very Clean and helpful service. Would try again with friends and Family
Friendly and helpful staff. Great location a stone's throw from Time Square. Comfortable, clean and tidy rooms. To be taken into consideration.
Comfortable bed, accommodating staff. Good value for the mid-town location.
Visited over Easter weekend. Only one elevator was working, took us almost an hour to get to the room after checking in and then had to use the staircase to get in and out afterwards. No complimentary drinking water, all other hotels I've stayed at in NYC offer this. Rooms were decent. Staff was helpful and friendly. Don't think I'll stay here again just because of this experience.
Staff at front desk could have been a little more friendly, very small rooms, no fridge, coffee or microwaves in room
Centrally located hotel .. with good prices. The breakfast costs 20 Doller. BUS and subway connections directly opposite the hotel.
Horrible place, do not stay there! The rooms are in need of repairs, you often have to wait ages for an elevator and it's noisy and smelly because of all the construction going on around the place. The worst aspect is the staff, though. Housekeeping threw away or stole a bag full of presents and souvenirs, and even though the people at the front desk apologized profusely, it was obvious that nobody really gave a f***. Besides, the barkeeper at the 10th floor bar spent her time texting or playing on her smartphone rather than serving me, even though I was standing right there at the bar. So really, they don't seem to be interested in having happy, satisfied guest.
Hotel is fine, but small. Staff is super nice. However, it is NOT in Times Square. There, however, is another DoubleTree in Times Square. Hopefully nobody else makes the same mistake we did, with two small kids in tow at 10:30 PM.
I did not have a good experience, I arrived and the room was not ready, I left the booking voucher at the reception and I went for a ride, after two hours on the way back the room was not ready but the good thing they had lost at the change turn my booking voucher and the girl on duty before she was still there pretending nothing and holed up in a door, in the end I was without a room and there were no other free, I did not see an interest to solve the problem indeed! they were also annoyed !!! after a while I solved, the reservation was not in my name but of the person who was with me, I had to insist to have them checked more carefully, to apologize they filled me with cookies, if it was not for the optimal position I would be gone away surely even at the cost of losing all the money, if you book be careful, don't give them vouchers and then go for a walk.
Nice place. Good service. Will be happy 2 visit again. Times square, Empire State building subways are really close from here convenient location.
Nice don't be fooled by the times square in the name no relationship to it at all but the room was nice and clean
This hotel is quite old, looks like hasn't been renovated for a while. It was very cold! AC didn't work, ever at heat regime was blowing cold air. I was visiting in November and it got pretty cold at night. Also there is construction going on right next to it, for some reason at night. I was on the sixth floor and couldn't sleep because windows are apparently not sound proof. Had to move to another room after two nights.
Great service very friendly staff! Rooms are kinda tight but still nice elevator was slow! Overall nice stay
Friendly staff just everything is outdated even the system
Small room, but typical for New York City. Great service and nice cookies. One of the best prices is midtown Manhattan.
The very small closet. And the bathroom also very small
The rooms are small for the price, but then again is NYC
Very comfortable stay (overnight) on a business trip. Hotel is located in the heart of times Square and close to all things that makes times Square popular. Neat and clean setup of rooms and with all basic amenities. The room has basic bathroom toiletries, safe, ironing board, TV with cable coffee maker etc. Breakfast is not included in the price but superb setup for the price you pay. You can choose from buffet breakfast and also order warm food from ala carte. All in all a great experience and highly recommended!
Location was nice, the noice was AWFUL. Maids slamming doors constantly and calling loudly. The bed was alright, but not the best. The room was tiny, old, and the curtain was broken.
The hotel is good, but there is construction work going on right in front of the building. Service is good, they offer complementary water and guided me for parking and nearby locations. Recommend it as location is very good. Near time square.
Hotel is ok, but the construction on the building across the street started at 4am. Very noisy, stay away until the construction is complete.
Staff was not very helpful, no bartender to work the bar that they had open.
Location is great for midtown attractions. Street construction made it slow to get a car. Staff was great. Neighborhood offers plenty to do.
Nice place to stay in Manhattan, very convenient. Hotel experience was good. I like the glass showers as well. Rooms are a little cramped, as one would expect in midtown NYC
Not bad, extremely loud construction outside every morning made it very difficult to sleep 6ish, but not the fault of the hotel. Room was surprisingly small however.
nothing like booking your room 4 months in advance only to be told that "we don't have any of those rooms left" The place is clean but the bar closes at 10am and the rooms are TINY.
This hotel values $$$ not people.
I've entered the hotel the other night, asking politely the guy&girl in the reception to use their restroom, they've said I can use my room key to use them. I've said I'm not a guest and just want to use it, so the receptionists said I can't. I've asked if I can buy something, maybe in the bar to use them? but they answered "no sorry". I've said "thank you" and left, thought to myself that they don't have to be sorry, as I'll write this experience
Extremely friendly staff, great customer service, not too far from the Javits center! And wonderful cookies. Hotel was small but that's to be expected and it was fair for the price. Very small walking distance from great restaurants as well! Will come again!
Staying at double tree time square south . Great location and staff very friendly . Rooms clean and comfortable all in all a good hotel.
Was a pleasure the Hall time I was in the his hotel.
We met for a brief work related discussion with a colleague staying at the hotel. The lobby area was spacious and quiet enough to have a productive meeting prior to going out to dinner. The location was very convenient to meet and close to good local area restaurants.
Decent hotel in a very good location. Room was a bit small but expected in that central location. Sink area in bathroom was pretty small. Beds were comfortable and had a decent sized TV in the room with a safe and large cupboard to store clothes and luggage. Had an issue with hot water one morning and had to have a cold shower but got sorted in the end.
Rooms are small but cosy enough. Very close to many attractions and subway.
Worst hotel experience ever. I rarely stay at a Hilton property because it's always a hit or miss. This property was definitely a miss. The bed sheets were dirty (with actual food stain), iron and board was not properly stored in the closet, sink clogged, shower pressure was off, and the room was tiny! I'm an avid traveler and I know things sometimes can be off but this was the worst. Never again will I stay at this property. The gym in this property is a joke. Please fix the elevators as well.
Amazing hotel with a great bedroom style, great wifi, iMac desktop for all customers, printing area, fitness center and a great service.
The whole experience from check-in to check-out was an ordeal. Staff was very unattentive and make it known they are not excited to be there. I had trouble with my room (there was flooding in the bathroom) they made me wait nearly 2 days for another room. Always a line at the counter in the lobby. 3-4 people would be behind the counter but only one would be actively serving guests they'd rather talk amongst each other. Nothing was urgent or quick. Housekeeping would leave trash in the stairwells all-day. Not an enjoyable stay, very disappointed.
Honestly I was expecting something more from a Hilton.
Not bad, the room was clean (though very small). But nothing more than this.
