Good hotel, central location. Very comfortable beds
Amazing service and location. Prices reasonable for the service and the staff are all very helpful.
Beautiful room very clean, lovely staff but annoyed that no food was available from 9:30pm.
Although the staff did bring me a bowl of crisps!
The warm cookies on arrival and departure were lovely+
Loved our night away staying at this hotel. Great location, lovely room & most of all really friendly & accommodating staff. Although some people have left negative reviews I would recommend that if things aren't as you wish then speak to the staff who are happy to help. Great hotel . xx
Very pleasant stay. Room was well kept and clean as was the hotel in general. Staff were very helpful and polite.
Very comfortable well equipped room. We were a little early for check in but they have us fresh baked cookies while we waited for the room in the comfort of their nice (though expensive) bar.
Nice reception and welcome. The free cookie was nice. The room the usual small London size. A bit dated, but all fine. It was very noisy though with lots of noise from the hallway.
Fabulous service and great room. Highly recommend x
Great base for easy access to the Tube & all the Capital has to offer.
The staff is friendly and the facilities are clean. But the size of the rooms and at the price advertised is just horrible... Ive been in london university single dorms larger than this! Basically a 4x3 cell not including the bathroom mind you...
We had a lovely time at the hotel, a lovely warm welcome and Christina feeding us cookies, Superb breakfast and days out with a warm welcome awaiting us when we returned, nothing was to much trouble .... thank you all but especially Christina. ...John and Lynda barker 19th to 21st April
Great place for a meeting near Holborn Station. Free WIFI, courteous and attentive staff at this venue.
We stayed in the newly refurbed premium deluxe rooms and they were nice buy didnt look anything special. We walked for ages tbrough the corridoor to get to the room as as the refurbiahment was still going on it wasnt the bestbplace to stay as the builders were still working and making lota of noise. The view was also a brick was as the room was in the basement so nothing to look at.
Expensive. Felt more like a 2 stars hotel. Rooms are old and you can hear everything from the corridor.
Comfortable modern rooms, great staff and a good location!
Also, great cookies!
One has visited here for an evening meal with friends. It is a lovely venue, with reasonable price food. I think it lose a star due to the poor layout, not making good use of the space it have on hand.
Had afternoon tea. Had better for the price. Dinning area looked a little dated
Pretty hotel and excellent location to parks and shops
Lovely large room with comfortable bed. Sound proofing into the corridor was not the best. Few drunken noisy people coming back late and some inconsiderate people in the morning. Bit I'm a light sleeper. Polite staff but offered no solution to broken drawer or very noisy faulty fridge.
Nice location, great service, but rooms are a bit small and lacklustre
Where do i start
When we entered the room i was so embarrassed it was shockingly dated the bed looked like it will stolen from my Grannies house.
The Bathroom thats right a said Bathroom in a Deluxe room there was no bath tub?? Just a Shower with a grotty shower screen super nasty. Broken ceramic tiles on the floor also.
Save your money and book into a Travelodge or if you want something a little nicer Premier Inn.
Hilton Hotels certainly are not a quality stay the second one i have stayed at in London enough is enough no more.
A Great Location does not make a Great Hotel take note Hilton.
Stayed here for a couple of days while in Holborn. Rooms are ok, go for Premier king size rooms. Best thing about the hotel is the buffet breakfast and the lovely, courteous breakfast manager middle Eastern lady, she did an excellent job when the hotel was full to capacity and managed the guests very well.
Rooms are small and badly laid out. No power plugs near the bed which makes charging devices a pain, tiny and slow elevators. For the money... I would look elsewhere next time work brings me to this part of the world
Hotel on first appearance is very misleading, as you walk in to the reception you think it's a really nice modern hotel.
That's where it ends........
The bedrooms were nothing more than a box, the smell of the rooms when you first walk in is something that can only be described as the kind of smell that would occur when a dog gets wet.
The amount of hairs, and dirt in the bath were disgusting, and the hairs and dirt also ran in to the room itself.
I have photographic evidence of the dirt on my finger after running it over the bedside table, also have photos of the nice long black hairs all over the table and welcome pack.
After phoning reception to complain we were moved to another room, which was even smaller than the first room, but don't worry, the hairs and dirt were still available to us.
The concierge however was extremely concerned with how we felt about the new room, and if you couldn't tell this is sarcasm.....
Once he stopped talking on his phone for long enough he asked if the room was okay whilst walking out the door, and when asked where the other room key was as we only had one, we were told to get another one from reception.
The bedsheets had hairs on, and the towels and bath mat had stains on them, luckily we brought our own towels so drying ourselves with other people's hair wasn't a problem..... thank god.
My dog might enjoy staying here though as it does smell like him a little bit. Although he probably smells better, he's a good boy.
Tiny elevators and only one was working. I arrived around 2:00 in the morning because of a train accident that delayed multiple trains heading into London, so when I arrived to check-in, the front door was locked. I followed the written instructions by the entrance and rang the bell and could clearly hear it. After no one came, I rang again...and again...and again. After about 10 minutes, someone finally came, opened the door and told me that I should have rung the bell which they then tested and of course it worked. When I finally got to my room and prepared to go to bed, there was a noise coming from above me (I was on the top floor) which I reported to the front desk in the morning since the noise was continuing. They promptly sent someone to my room but the noise ceased minutes before they arrived. The noise continued off and on for the following 3 nights, but the level was not quite as loud and since I was getting in late after the theatre and was therefore exhausted, I put in ear plugs and went to bed. When I checked out, the woman at the front desk had a serious cough and was obviously sick and should not have been at work. I mentioned the noise issue but she was not paying much attention because she was constantly coughing. My stay was paid for with a combination of awards points and cash. I have since made multiple calls to Hilton to get points for the cash portion but so far I have not been credited even though every one that I have spoken with at Hilton agrees that I should receive points for the cash portion of my stay. I checked out November 1 and continue to wait. I have stayed at this hotel before without problems and love the location. Based on my most recent stay, I probably will look elsewhere in the future
A special thanks to Henri at the front desk, but really the entire staff. My wife and I booked a last minute trip to London and I somehow goofed up the reservation dates. Even though the hotel was completely booked, Henri disappeared for 15 minutes and worked some black magic to make everything better. He even applied our previous charges to the current (wrong dates). Service like this is why I trust DoubleTree/Hilton and will be staying at West End again!! Thanks!
nice lighting in bar area.. i like the decor. single room is tiny
Such a disaster. Never again. Felt sorry for staff having to deal with other inept staff. Wet towels on floor, wonky door number, charged a safety deposit for mini fridge that was not stocked or even turned on. Worst hotel I have stayed at in the capital.
Not a very nice hotel, the room was hot and stuffy and I couldn't open the windows to let fresh air and the air conditioner was very very load so it was hard to sleep and also the temperature wouldn't drop that much. Their are much better hotels than this one.
I m a frequent business traveller to London & this hotel makes my every visit as amazing as possible. Throughout the check in&out experience to the resturant and lobby services, you will be satisfied and happy in my views. However, I raised the concern I always have on the room housekeeping being not up to the standards but haven t seen a significant change so far.
Small rooms, overpriced, and a water cut on morning of Tuesday 27 September meant no washing or toilet available.
The exclusive rooms are SUPER!
The standard rooms are well.
Nice ambience and staff were lovely. I did have to wait in the bar for service but they were apologetic. The bathroom is a bit old and there wasn't enough water from the shower (IMO) but really lovely room and hotel. Will come back and would recommend.
First time in London, the location of the hotell was great.
Very disappointing, rooms unclean, no hot water and deposit secured for each room on top of upfront payment
Fantastic location. Staff very friendly, professional and helpful. First room (family room) was tiny and claustrophobic, however when moved to another room it was much better.
Hotel is below par for a Hilton family. Staff is terrible. Not accomadting at all. They do not honor their valued and loyal guests.
Everything you would expect from a good London hotel. Quiet quality, attentive staff. Prices fairly reasonable for its geographic position.
Views out of the windows can be a little uninspiring but the hotel and rooms are nicely furnished. Breakfast is plentiful as well.
adequate and nothing to write home about, the staff do their utmost with the surroundings they are laden with. The whole premises needs a mega overhaul, and it is not just the malfunctioning elevator lifts or leaking corridor soffits that am referring to. Otherwise, wouldn t say no to going back. It is not what one expects from the Hilton brand netter experienced elsewhere.
The entrance was impressive and pleasent. When introduced to the reception and booked ourselves in we was represented with a warm cookie. Nice but strange. When we went to our room there was dust and marks on the carpet. The bed was nice and comfy however the pillows almost felt non existent. We slept poorly. The breakfast the following morning was probably the best part of the stay there. Staff were pleasent and helpful how ever very little help to our room.
Lovely hotel. Service excellent. Will definitely be back.
Staff were very friendly and helpful. Hotel was modern and clean.
We used Hilton points to stay here and were very happy that the breakfast was included. The location is prime, only 3 blocks from the Holborn station on the Piccadilly line and like 3 blocks from the British Museum.
The staff are friendly, things are clean, they have the standard DoubleTree hot cookies, the printer and computer in the business center work and the room was nice. We didn t spend much time here, just mostly sleeping, as we were out for about 10 hours every day.
They didn t have any scales to weigh suitcases before going to the airport, which was a bummer. No guest Laundry, just and FYI.
We ate dinner here one night and weren t entirely impressed, they were out of the beer I wanted and our fish, part of fish and chips, had bones in it. When I asked for malt vinegar, they brought white vinegar... so yah... haha.
Great location and excellent staff. The rooms are a bit dated but clean. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast offering was also impressive.
Location is fantastic; close to everything. As a central London hotel those is very good; as a DoubleTree, I've stayed in better ones. Special mention to the staff who were always attentive, helpful and thoughtful. Lots of plugs in the rooms too (which is annoyingly rate in hotels).
When I filled out my reservation, in the special request section I asked that they leave me a funny joke on my arrival. They did not dissapoint. Corny, but great!
This hotel has a great location and looks great from the outside, but is desperately in need of room renovations.
Friendly staff, great breakfast service, good location.
Tip: do not take a room to the street, it is always noise and the windows are not the best.
Location was good, but still a far walk from the main attractions. Be prepared to take a taxi or ride the underground. If you insist on walking, make sure you bring extremely comfortable shoes. Rooms were good size; we had a one-bed with foldout option. Staff very accommodating and friendly. Cost was steep, at over $290+ per night, and sadly breakfast wasn't even included at that price. Shower was small, and the "curtain" didn't span the entire tub, getting water all over the bathroom following each shower. Aside from those disappointments, everything else was great! Staff was quick to greet you with a smile and offer endless amounts of their signature cookies on request.
Excellent rooms. Amazing location for the hotel. Food was great and the staff were very nice and very professional.
Very pleasant hotel, well situated in the West end of London.
Great venue, great food, polite efficient staff. Would happily attend events there again.
I have to get the 2nd bus back cos I'm eating nuts and to go with friends rn but going on abt it was so long to type not andd nilo I was getting rlly nice to help many people love to go with dad now so good to get them
Typical of the Hilton chain. Well located with full services. Walking distance to the British Museum.
Tbh i was probably there at the wrong time room smelt damp no lift due to works going on and not being told when booking the room one thing i did love about the place was the COOKIES
Foyer nice and modern but rooms small and dated. Air Conditioning didn't work so had to open window during night. Can't knock it for value though as it was half the price of similar hotels.
The hotel is in a great location. Most of the staff are pleasant.
However, it would be better to have a more friendly and experienced member of staff on duty when customers are checking in.
The young girl who checked us in failed to mention many important facts including that the air conditioning was broken in room 121 and that the windows in the room nor in the bathroom opened!! Or that there was intensive building work taking place. We asked to be changed within an hour of checking in but wasn't possible.
Needless to say we never got a wink of sleep due to the heat. We finally fell asleep at 6am but were woken by the drilling and Jack hammers.
Stayed at the Double Tree by Hilton for our first wedding anniversary. Staff were very good and the rooms were nice. All in all would recommend if staying in London.
Good hotel however room 301 is very small so watch out for this.
Awful experience here and Hilton not very helpful or interested. Miles better experience at Premier Inn Holborn around the corner.
Good location and friendly staff top hotel. Would recommend it to everyone. Thanks.
We booked a room for one night at this hotel and were upgraded to another room. When we came into the room, we noticed that it wasn t clean at all. There was a layer of dust on the comforter and stains on pillow cases. The carpet hadn t been vacuumed at all - crushed candy, wrappers, lint balls, hair, etc. was everywhere. It was DIRTY!
We called the Care Line to tell them about it and were told that they couldn t do anything except give us complimentary breakfast. We had an early morning flight to catch so that was not really an option for us.
We are utterly disappointed in the cleanliness and the following customer service here. This is not the kind of standard we expect when from a Hilton!
Very nice to eat for festive boards. The beer is over priced but hey it's London
It's okay for a city center hotel good size room staff friendly and helpful. Buffet style breakfast decent selection of food. Nice reception and bar area's.
Real shame about this double tree, had a room upgrade but the one we were given, hadn't been cleaned, last occupants had left contact lens behind. Tea and coffee facilities not refreshed. Hate to think what our original room would have been like!
While the hotel in general was nice (and in a good location), I was not happy with the bed. If you like a firm bed than this will work well for you. If you like a soft bed, this is not the place for you.
The location is great - very close to both the holborn and Russell square tube stations. However, we stayed at this hotel for 5 days and the lift to our floor was out of service the entire time. I find it hard to believe that Hilton can't find someone to fix the lift.
Staying at a major brand hotel and not seeing a single visible minority working there gave me pause. Especially, when several of the double tree employees didn't seem to grasp English. What gives Hilton?
