We stayed 2 nights in an executive room - the service was great, all the staff were very friendly and the room was spacious and quiet, with a very comfortable bed. The hotel was really accessible, on both the central and the piccadilly lines, and we would definitely stay again.

Lobby and rest of the hotel was lovely, but the family room we had paid for was small and the third 'bed' was a camp bed pulled out from a chair. Very uncomfortable and not large enough to reasonably sleep a third person. Breakfast was good and had a wide selection.
The rooms are on the small side, but hey, this is London. What sets this place apart is the service. Every employee goes out of their way to be helpful and cheerful. It is also a great location. Rooms are clean and well-maintained.
Good hotel, a bit expensive but this is London my room (2nd floor) was facing an internal court, but plenty of ligth, maybe less on 1st floor. Breakfast is buffet style with plenty of food... and so far the personal was always friendly and helpful so that's also a good point.
After two nights my room has no heater, so just plan to have warm clothes before going to sleep.
At first I got a junior suite (045) that was literally a room without windows, just claustrophobic. After several calls I was able to talk and complain with the manager and he moved me in a older but at least with 2 windows room. Solved for the room the next issue has been the bed, old mattress just as soft as a stone! Simply to avoid (but thanks to the manager at least for his help)
Pleasing, helpful reception and staff. Many rooms are dated or need to be retired, probably the less pricey ones. Plus some guests are far too loud for the thin walls
I stayed one night at this hotel on my way through London. Check in was fast and courteous and I, of course, got a cookie...all be it hard and a bit stale. The elevator to the room was very small... probably a clue to the age of the building , and on my side of the hotel ONLY ONE was working. That meant a trudge down the stairs with my bags to check out the next day as I simply could not get on. Good thing I was only one floor up from the lobby. My room was small but clean and weill appointed. A very cool amenity is that they had a loaner cell phone in the room which you could take with you on the go and use to call (even internationally) and find your way around. Though I didn't eat here I did sit and have a drink at the bar, which was nice and not crowded...but like every hotel expensive. I'd say the stay was pleasant but not the best Hilton I've stayed at.
I stayed at this hotel for four nights following previous stays that had been good. This time was a disaster from start to finish. The shower screen over the bath had no seal at the bottom so after I had a shower I realised this when I stood on the floor which was a pool of water. I let reception know and the issue was rectified when I returned later that day. The bar service was appalling, we asked if snacks were available to be told they were and would come back to us shortly, 40 mins later after finishing out drink we received no service. As we left we passed the lady we had dealt with and said not to worry as now leaving, she apologised and said she forgot as was busy. The next issue was on our day before departure when we had been out all day and returned around 11pm to find out room had not been serviced, I went to reception and they said would look into why this was. I asked if I could have fresh towels for the morning and was told someone would bring them. They brought them soon after along with two bottles of complimentary water by way of an apology. We checked out the next day and no one asked how our stay had been or mentioned the issue the previous evening. The bill had no charges for the stay and the room had been prepaid. A few days after returning home I noticed a charge on my current account. I spoke with someone via email to query this and was told it was for the water we consumed, so apparently the complimentary water didn t seem to be. I was sent an email regarding my complaint with a reference number and also told that someone would be in contact from the hotel in 3 days, a week passed and no contact. I replied to the email stating this and was told they had found out my room wasn t serviced as the do not disturb sign was on the door, it was, up until we went out at noon, so it would seem that if you don t leave your room exactly when housekeeping come past to service your room then you miss your chance. I was told they would credit some points to my Hilton honors account. So to summarise, no refund for the complimentary water and still no contact from the hotel. Will not be staying here again.
A Hilton with inflated prices in London's Westend. The rooms are small and the bathrooms below average. The service fits, however, as almost always in the Hilton.
Unfortunately the hotel have lost my handbag but this is still being looked into. However, the room which I stayed in wasn t very clean and the bath looked like it hadn t been cleaned as there was a big tide mark (orange coloured) around the entire bath. It smelled of damp, and seemed to have black mould around the tiles. Also, the bath linen wasn t clean! Such a shame especially for the amount of money that was charged!
We were redeeming a voucher for the cream tea in restaurant 92 in the West End. The cream tea itself was good, although the cake selection was very rich! The service was a little slower than we would have expected though. Overall, the experience was average.
Little dated, place does need update. But staff are nice and location is great.
Edit: Needs better operation. Set for late checkout but room keycard was deactivated. Had to get it reactivated, didnt work. Had to ask coincerge to send someone to get me back in. Diamond member get 2x free bottle water, checked portfolio and I was charged. Had to call to get it fixed. A lot of hassle due to poor operations.
Nice hotel, lovely staff, food atmosphere in general. I did feel let down by the room however, to pay so much for a room no better than a premier inn, with a hard bed and pillows, a bath that took 50 minutes to run, and wasn't quite hot enough was disappointing. I still give it a 5 star rating however, as these are minor details, and all the other things, and level of service made up for them. Don't quite get that at a premier inn!
Worked for Doubletree when in college and it was a relatively new (the Scottsdale property was about 12 years old). This does not measure up by any stretch of the imagination. "Room" could be tactfully renamed "closet". This might be attributable to simply being in London, but it's still overpriced for what is actually provided. A good exemplar of the downsides of mergers.
While the suite itself was alright, it was in the basement and got very little natural light. They compensated by adding a daylight lamp outside the window that went on every night at 3am making it seem like it was daytime. Maintenance came and never fixed the problem. Don't be fooled by the lobby...this isn't a very nice hotel. The matress was squeaky and comforter was very short.
The facilities are small but relatively clean. Staff can be sparse sometimes but they are nice. Finishes are are a bit weathered outside of the front of house but it shouldn't really detract from the experience. Overall, not a bad location since lots of things are nearby.
Good service and very nice looking accommodation, comfortable bed. Very good location, close to most popular things as well as a tube station just down the road.
Used Double Tree before but not this. Its a bit tired. Our first room had a loose plug socket with wires exposed. Got a better second room but aircon was faulty at times and very poor mattresses. Everywhere clean and great breakfast. Best thing are the staff, couldn't fault them, very friendly and helpful. Had a great 2 night break, taking in the theatre just slightly disappointed 're this hotel. Would still stay again, maybe just unlucky 're rooms
Was greeted by a friendly member of staff called Alex who made me a lovely cup of tea and told me to make myself comfortable. Beata on the bar was cool too. Great branch
Excellent hotel for the price! Rooms are small, but this is expected in London. Breakfast was excellent, and the staff was exceptionally helpful. Hotel is more in the Bloomsbury neighborhood than in the West End, but is an easy walk to the West End and Covent Garden. I definitely recommend this hotel and would stay here again.
Good price bad service. The location is great, food at bar was good and the drinks were ok that was the extent of the positive attributes.
Otherwise the staff here has a very hard time communicating and doesn t really care about your experience.
The rooms are very old looking and the carpet is dank everywhere. I have stayed at many other hotels and had a better experience. Try the Marriott properties.
Free cookie, lovely decor, nice room. Room was quite small but it was plenty big enough for two of us, with room to spare too. Nice facilities; bathroom, tea making, hairdryer, wardrobe, robe and slippers. Really good location and tasty breakfast too. Staff were really very friendly and the location was awesome for being a tourist. Loved staying here, can't fault it and really affordable too.
Stayed in the plaza suite - nice sized room but the building was cold with no way to adjust the heating adequately - seems it is mostly controlled centrally. A bit run down and in urgent need of renovation.
Great location for motorway access with ample parking.
Food was horrendous. Waiting staff seemed to insist on placing single diners all around us despite the restaurant being mostly empty, which is annoying.
Location location location. Just great if u want a base to visit sights like Tower if London, Tower Bridge, the City's iconic buildings in the Financial District and South Bank Butler's Wharf.
We stayed in one of the premium double rooms and our room was lovely! The bed was comfortable, and our room was very clean. It would be 5 stars however one of the group we were staying with was given a room that had a very strong smell of damp. The staff were very friendly and courteous, and the breakfast was good. The bar area in the reception was good, however it did take a little while to receive our drinks despite it not being overly busy. Overall I d say it s a good hotel
The hotel is clearly overpriced and I do not understand how it can be ranked as a four star hotels. Having travelled a bit, both the service and premises are truly disappointing.
Service - i have been yelled at by the front desk manager as it seems there was a misunderstanding with the booking of my colleague. For 20 minutes and after a lot of stress and anger from this person, nothing was solved and I found myself in a very disappointing situation. Being treated like this as a resident of a 4 star hotel is clearly not acceptable, even less with Hilton Hotels reputation. Please note as well that the bare minimum service you expect from a 4 star hotel (such as lending a plug adapter) is not possible, they only sell them. It acceptable
Premises - the lobby is ok, although somewhat old fashioned. The rooms are old, very poorly furnished (design, quality, ergonomy) and some of it is actually damaged. You will find stains and marks pretty much everywhere.
In a word, I have had a really bad experience there and do not recommend this place to anyone, especially with this types of prices. You will find much better things around.
I turned up and they put me in a room with broken air conditioning, in the middle of a heatwave! It had a tiny pointless fan blowing the heat around. They acted like this was acceptable, but it was like an oven in there. I refused the room and after 30 minutes they managed to find me a room at another hilton for a similar price, about 20 minutes away by taxi.
On business in London for a day and booked a premium room. This was my first stay at a doubletree. Considering the price I was disappointed as I found the actual room old, noisy from the streets and with hvac system not working properly.
Excellent room for the price. Not too far from the restaurants and Oxford shopping district. Though our check-in wasn't until 2 our room was given to us at 10. Only drawback was that our bathroom door did not shut fully.
Excellent location. Fabulous stay.clean an very comfortable with excellent food and customer service. It will always be my first choice when visiting London
It is convenient to stay here to go to the financial business district. The room is average. nothing special. The wireless network is very slow and can't do much work here. I might not stay here because of the convenient location of the hotel.
Superb service, great albeit very cozy rooms. Breakfast was tasty and convenient. Location was less than 5 minutes to two different Underground Stations with plenty of great pubs and restaurants nearby as well as fun shops. Would definitely stay here again.
We had a 4 night stay there. The lobby is downright enticing, the rooms are a few years old and we can not say that the English are professionals of good taste ... However, and despite an exorbitant price, our stay there was more than pleasant. The hotel is very well located, right in the heart of London, walking distance from the Holborn metro station, a bus stop is even more ready. Finally, the bonus of this hotel is the English and continental breakfast is excellent!
I stayed here for my birthday and they upgraded me AND left me a birthday card with a dessert in my room! So special and thoughtful! Loved staying here! It was centrally located in the West end with so many great restaurants near by! And it's in the center of all the theatres and great shopping!
I had missed a connecting flight the day before, but had booked my room ahead of time. The delayed flight would mean I would arrive a few hours before my checkout time. The hotel accommodated me and let take a shower and rest. They even let me stay a little bit extra. Overall a great experience.
