A somewhat strange location, tucked away at the back of an industrial estate, but a lovely hotel when you finally get there.
A somewhat strange location, tucked away at the back of an industrial estate, but a lovely hotel when you finally get there.
Afternoon tea, stale sandwiches, under baked scones, poor service , not offered any coffee refills. Disappointed.
Compared to some budget hotels looking dated. Bar quite expensive.
My favorite hotel! Very clean, beautiful, warm swimming pool, delicious breakfast, very nice bed linen, polite staff.
I like the hotel as I have stayed here several times. However I was very disappointed that I could hear smokers talking loudly in the middle of the night in the area before the entrance. When I complained the next morning that my night had been ruined. I did not get much of a response other than that people should not smoke there. Which does not make a lot of sense as there ashtrays attached to the wall. So if your staying here get a room far from the entrance. In the meantime Crowne Plaza get your act together and move the smoking area out of the way.
Cracking hotel, with lots of food options and a nice spa with a great pool! - the rooms are equipped with lots of simple tech and the couple of nights I've stayed here the conferences were first rate and the evening events are a great affair.
Nice scenery, especially the lake and the garden, friendly staff. Trying to accommodate to your needs and a relaxing atmosphere(stayed twice)
Not all the rooms are like that in photos.
I have the room 001 and is was clean but with old furniture. The website give me a total different image of this hotel.
The personal it was great.
Do NOT book a spa day at this hotel, the whole experience was the opposite of relaxing. The final straw came at the end of the day - I was due to have a pedicure at 5pm, but because of poor mangement and organisation, I didn't receive it. 6 days later I am still awaiting a refund for the treatment I didn't receive. I have had to make 15 phonecalls and have sent numerous emails and I have still not had a response.
Have been trying to contact customer relations but the email keeps bouncing back?
This hotel is at the end of an industrial estate, however is surprisingly pleasant! The hotel is set back on its own grounds with a beautiful lake view, which is a pretty backdrop. There is ample free parking. The hotel itself is spacious, modern, clean and has lots of amenities such as pool, gym spa, conference rooms, bar and restaurant.
I attended a conference here. Professional and friendly staff - Specifically Anton, who was so courteous, helpful and kind - he made sure our conference went smoothly, and really took the time to look after us and go the extra mile. He really was outstanding!
The meeting rooms were adequate, equipped with water - sparkling and still, notebooks and pens. However, the downside was the WiFi was not strong enough in the meeting rooms, so attendees were not able to connect to the free WiFi Also, during our visit there was construction happening in reception which only affected us for a few minutes when we had a power cut, other than that it was not an issue.
The hotel provided nice bagels for breakfast, a scrumptious variety of pastries, and a good selection of tea and coffee (but no hot chocolate ), with lovely cakes and macaroons served during breaks. Lunch also had a good selection serving soup, fresh baked rolls, starters and mains. Although I found lunch a little dry (chicken, fish cakes, potatoes and veg)
Overall the hotel was professional, clean and modern. Recommended for conferences
Newly updated bar and restaurant area, very refreshing. Friendly staff!
Really nice hotel, excellent facilities and good quality food.
Warm welcome on arrival. King room was very comfortable and well equipped. Spa facilities are nice, but some maintenance is required. Lovely breakfast. Exceptional fine dining experience
Went for my office Christmas Party. Food was nice and the table was decorated beautifully, service was a bit iffy.
Mohan and his restaurant team really do make an effort to look after you. The hotel has been recently refurbished which makes a massive difference.
Fantastic hotel cannot recommend it highly enough, great food, great staff the spa was just right.
Nice big refurbished rooms with comfy bed, setting was lovely overlooking the lake, very friendly and helpful staff and all within 25 minutes walk of Marlow high street
This hotel was lovely. The room was clean and in good decoration. The breakfast was outstanding. Only complaint was bed was a little uncomfortable and the pillows were very poor but we would definatley stay there again and recommend it to others.
Mmm. Mixed bag this one. Staff very friendly and afternoon tea was excellent.
Down sides..
Pool was freezing cold, hot tubs were like warm and the head waiter in the restaurant made an oddly sexist comment (when asked if we could box up some cakes to take away) to the tune of
"I'll give it to the woman to do, they like to do that" as he passed the empty cake box to my wife...I took it from him and boxed them myself.
I had a big problem with the booking of the room, which is why the rating is lower than would be expected.
I booked a room at the end of May for a two-night stay some months ahead. I booked online and quoted a credit card. Somehow, the card details were not recognised and a month after booking the room, I was contacted and asked for card details. Knowing someone who had just been the victim of card fraud, I was ultra-cautious about giving out any information - very suspicious about who i was speaking to. My room was cancelled without my knowledge and it was only the night before I was due to arrive that I checked my booking and learned of the cancellation. I managed to re-book (and at a lower rate), but it was a very unsettling incident and I am curious to know why the central reservations team had my card details but the hotel didn't. Perhaps this is all 'lost in translation'.
However, my wife and I liked the the hotel and would gladly stay there again, booking the room directly with the hotel.
Clean room with comfortable bed and quality linen. Not much to look at from outside but really nice inside. Staff very attentive.
Easy to use, great customer service... Small but growing.
The staff were wonderful. Catered to our dietary requirements efficiently which we've struggled with at other places in the past.
Just returned from such a relaxing stay at Crowne Plaza Marlow. Very nice welcome from the French reception manager who upgraded us as it was my partner s birthday.
Lots of sanitisers and masks being worn by all the staff, so we both felt safe.
We had a massive new room with really comfy bed, huge TV and bottle of chilled prosecco . We both enjoyed such a relaxing massage in the spa Katrina and Diana were both amazing and we left feeling so relaxed. We followed the Thames walk next to the hotel for 2 hours and enjoyed seeing the beautiful countryside and river life. Even fed some swans in the hotel s lake.
Dinner in the conservatory was a perfect end to our stay. Will definitely be back. Thank you to all at the Crowne Plaza Marlow
A pretty standard corporate hotel on the edge of Marlow.
Mostly nice. Internet speed free was supposed to be 2mb but i got 0.5 I went and paid for 10 upgrade and only got 5. Also lot of limescale in kettle in room. Other than that very nice.
Came here for a school reunion, we had a great afternoon tea in the conservatory, lovely sandwiches, pots of tea and scones, only thing was it was a sunny day and a bit hot in there.
Nice looking hotel in a country setting. Modern facilities and good breakfast buffet. Room is spacious and complete.
Had an overnight stay here, room was a great size and clean. Shower was good pressure great. We ate in the restaurant, food was lovely, portions were a little on the small size but were very tasty.
Over all we enjoyed our stay. The hotel itself could do with a sprucing up as parts looked a little worn, but would stay here again.
The hotel staff were very friendly and the rooms are a good size. The breakfast is a buffet style with a wide variety of foods. However under sixteen year olds aren't allowed in the swimming pool area after 11 am until 2pm and so that should be kept in mind when making plans for your stay.
It would have been a 5 star rating if the standard of the rooms was higher, food marks on the walls and carpets. Dirty mirrors in the bath room and on the cupboards. The room also needed to be hovered better.
The stranded of the food was fantastic, we had the duck to which it was cooked to perfection
The staff we meet in the restaurant are very friendly and helpful
Facilities are OK but nothing special. And the service is very inefficient and it seems as though the staff don't realise how bad the service is as it seems to be the norm so they don't try to help or make things better. The food in the bar is good but the restaurant food I was left disappointed.
The hotel setting is fantastic, but they really let themselves down with the service and facilities. We arrived at lunchtime and couldn't check in until about 4pm. While we waited we had a drink in the sunny outside area, but every table still had dirty glasses from either breakfast or the previous night. We tried to order a cocktail but the barman quoted 20 minutes wait while he checked if he had the ingredients (the bar was empty), and the draught beer had "lumps" floating in it. Having said that - a couple of the staff were very good, the setting is nice and we had a great breakfast - but I'm not sure if that's enough to make me want to go back
The food was lovely and highly recommended, indeed one of the tastiest meals I have had in ages. However, staff didn't seem to know what was going on in the spa and in the restaurant and were very focused on making sure we paid immediately More
My wife booked us into the Crowne Plaza Marlow for afternoon tea. The pictures looked lovely so I was really looking forward to it! The food was lovely, tasted top notch however attention to detail left a little to be desired. The hotel was clean and modern. We were sat in the bar for our tea. Ambience was spoilt by the football being shown but the views across the lake are stunning. Staff were friendly and helpful and can not fault them. Sitting in the bar meant that we noticed it was in need of a bit of TLC. Wouldn't rush back for an afternoon tea but as it was a gift the day only cost the fuel to get there so no real loss
Would have been 2 star but for the outdoor jacuzzi. Poorly maintained/cleaned room
The room was large, the facilities excellent but......
spoiled by toe nail clippings left in wardrobe floor from previous guests.
Also, the Club Lounge was not cleaned regularly, nor restocked with mugs on 2 days that we spent there over Christmas. We went to the restaurant and got clean mugs from there.
On the last day of our stage the drinks machine in the Lounge was not working and although we reported it to the restaurant staff, it was still not working 1 hour later when we left the hotel.
Checkout was slow as there was only one member of staff on reception and a queue of 6 guests querying their bills.
Hotel keeps trying to upsell me breakfast each time I visit despite the room rate at booking confirming breakfast is included. They can see the notes on their system that shows I am eligible for it but their rate tarrif on the reservation system has a discrepancy.
Sorry it is not my fault you have these issues.
Nice place, good service and a very nice bed. Clean rooms whit a big tv so you actually can see it from the bed.
Not impressed at all. While polite, some of the staff were hardwork and the spa facilities were really poor compared to other Crowne Plaza hotels. The outdoor water feature, that is meant to be a pool or some sort of tub is truly the worse i have seen. Upnote is - the food was ok
Nice hotel with good amenities. Pool is large and has two hot tub - one ourdoor and one indoor, as well as a steam room and a sauna. Because we were there for a bank holiday weekend, there were a lot of kids in the pool but from 7pm on it is adults only. I would recommend avoiding the restaurant for evening meals. It's extremely overpriced and the food is bland and not worth it. The bar is also extremely overpriced too. Breakfasts at the restaurant are great and are buffets.
The rooms are good and spacious with decent air conditioning and a nice big TV. Bathroom is luxurious and has a shower and separate bath. One piece of advice for the hotel owner - put some plugs near the bed as we had to plug our phones in at the other end of the room!
Overall we enjoyed our stay here and would recommend it to friends.
Good hotel with large bedrooms. Great swimming pool, quiet location very convenient for Marlow.
Run down hotel. Rave music at breakfast, just awful and they overcharged us as well. Our room was falling apart.
Anniversary chilled in spa then afternoon tea outside
The hotel was nice enough to live at; it was complete with restaurant, bar, pool, steam room, gym, and outdoor space. The upgraded rooms are quite lovely, the breakfast ample, and the service was impressive.
Although I cancelled a booking immediately and rebooked I have been charged a cancellation fee despite the hotels agreement not to do so. It has also taken the hotel over 2 weeks to respond despite numerous calls. Very poor service
The staff are really friendly and happy to help with everything.
The breakfast amazing no doubt .
Definitely i will come again.
Such luxury plus its modern, staff all amazing, worth every penny. Everything works and it's not a noisy hotel
A bit shabby, checkout time was 10:00 just too early
Fairly good, breakfast good , some big parties can create mayhem
Despite the hotel seeming to be precisely in the middle of an industrial complex ..it s actually lovely ...I use it for Henley every year !!!
I stayed here for a week, just as hotels opened back up after lockdown. As I would expect from a Crowne Plaza the hospitality and service is top notch. I ate in the restaurant several times and the food was fresh, delicious and had a decent selection to go with. Coronavirus precautions were present and comprehensive without getting in your face too much, I felt very safe as it was obvious everyone was taking it seriously. Most importantly for a business trip my room was very well proportioned, with a large desk area, comfy bed and was nice and quiet. Fast WiFi too.
Overall 10/10 for everything, I will be using it again as a base for business trips, and may visit with my partner too as the pool and spa looked lovely. Oh and there's a large lake in the grounds for walks!
Had a very relaxing stay with good leisure facilities. The bar could do with some bar snacks like peanuts and crisps especially as they have cocktails on the menu!
Breakfast was good and staff were all very friendly, big thanks to Mohan for always making us feel welcome!
Hotel was fine. Food (evening meal and breakfast) was nice, although bar service a little slow. Rooms were a good size
Tried to call countless times to book the spa and afternoon tea I received a voucher for as a birthday gift but alas no one has bothered getting back to me. No reply to my voicemail, no call back despite being promised a call back...poor. I will change the voucher to another hotel - I believe this is possible with Virgin experience s
If you book expecting a relaxing spa break... forget it!
My 2 friends and I planned an overnight stay with spa treatments. The massages weren't good at all, so already pretty disappointed. Walked into the pool area and it was tiny, there was barely anywhere to pick robes let alone a seat/lounger for everyone.
To top off the "spa experience", at 3pm a group of kids (2-12years old I assume) jumped into the pool and started playing and screaming. No warning from the hotel that the pool would potentially have child or asked for parents to be mindful this is marketed as a spa. We had not choice but to go to our room to get away from the screams and shouting.
Room is comfortable, however even though I booked a package for 3 people I had to constantly call reception for a third item (robe, towels, glass, mug). They didn't supply enough tea/milk for the 3 of us, barely enough for 2 people. When checking out I believe I was charged extra sundries when they should have been standard.
On a positive note - the restaurant was great, food was lovely both for dinner and breakfast. The restaurant staff were friendly and helpful.
Would I recommend the hotel? Definitely not! Stay clear if you're looking for a spa location.
Lovely hotel and leisure facilities with great service but breakfast arrangement was not effective for social distancing, especially queueing for hot buffet. Table service would be preferable.
Over booked at our time of stay staff could not cooe with number of guests.lovely views and great spa
Had an excellent 2 night stay using the Executive Lounge. Hotel located over looking a lovely view of the lake and garden which was relaxing to sit and take in the view. Pool was great to use nice and quiet with the indoor and outdoor Jaccuzi to chill. Con served us well in the Executive Lounge in the evening with plenty of nibbles and drinks. But think Breakfast could be improved with a better variety of food. Bar and restaurant was nice especially sitting in the conservatory area in the evening well designed to take in the atmosphere. Staff excellent in service and hospitality given the current situation. Overall had an excellent stay and look forward to staying in December.
Great staff delicious food spotless clean rooms and a nice pool and gym
The food here is terrible and the hotel itself is very run down.
This place is below average at best, i would avoid if possible.
First rate. Premier inn facilities in a lovely inn. Great accommodation and food. Friendly helpful staff
Disappointed by what is meant to be one of IHG's better brands, but let's get the good points up front. It's in a good location and the view across the lake from the patio is lovely. It's close to a main road and a rail line but we weren't disturbed by either during the night, so don't let that put you off. It's a short walk (or about a fiver in a taxi) into Marlow itself which is a lovely town. The room itself was good and the bed very comfortable: the main thing you want in a hotel!
Now the not-so-good. They're in the process of a much-needed refurb which was not communicated during booking or even acknowledged during check in. The new bits look great (bar and restaurant) , the old bits tired (reception). However, there was an overall feeling of "we'll try harder when the refurb is finished". Empty shower gel dispenser on arrival, dirty windows, and drinks served in cheap glasses (admittedly a minor, First World Problem but this isn't a Wetherspoons pub!)
In short, if you're looking for somewhere reasonable to stay while visiting Marlow this is the place. However, if you're expecting something more like a Crowne Plaza experience in one of their bigger locations I fear you'll be disappointed. Hopefully when the refurb is finished later this year it will improve.
Wasn't sure what to expect, do not be put off from the outside decor. Had a great weekend break, great service, very clean, staff couldn't be more helpful. Breakfast was ok, plenty of choice but not always hot, tomatoes and bacon could have been cooked for longer.
Good hotel, big entree. Good rooms and breakfast with enough choose.
Great for families and weekends out, especially if you live in London and want some quiet time. My husband and I stayed there not long ago and really enjoyed out time spent there. The hotel offers great facilities and the prices are very reasonable.
On the 29th Sept 2019 i bought my friend to a spa day for her birthday. It in no way was a spa day and I made this clear when we left at 2pm. The receptionist took my details and told me someone would be in touch. It's now Thursday the 3rd Oct and no one has contacted me.
Here is the catalogue of things that make this experience NOT a spa day !
Nothing to relax on by the pool . All loungers taken. Or towels being placed so that we could not use.
Pool freezing cold.
Too many people ..too little facilities.
Facilities nothing like the photos on website.
Phone not answered for 4 days of trying to book a treatment.
No relaxation area.
Unfriendly receptionist.
The only good point from arrival at 10am till we left at 2pm was the wonderful lunch which we can not fault and the lovely staff in the restaurant.
I am so disappointed in your substandard spa, but before I write this online as a review I will give you 48 hrs to respond to my email and recompense me.
Nichola Aliu
Gym & pool are very nice. Food is OK. Rooms are well appointed.
Very good. Quiet swimming pool at evening. My girlfriend and myself were very lucky and had swimming pool, sauna and jacuzzi only to ourselves.
For what we needed it was very good. Arriving late after a wedding the staff on the desk were helpful and enthusiastic (even well after midnight). The room was very nice with king bed, and the bathroom was also very nice with separate shower and bath. Location is okay, but especially good if you want to get into Marlow.
Terrible service and awful (cold) food. Warm red bull and warm pinot (unless you opt for ice). Not only that but the waiter left a bag bin bag on our table while my guests were sat there (see pic attached)... me and my 9 guests wasted a More
Fantastic hotel and amazing staff, we felt really welcomed. Thankyou
