What I liked about the visit:
What I liked about the visit:
The service manager was polite
Why I won't be back, and would never recommend coming to Crown Honda:
1. The person on the online chat has no access to service records, just spits back what is already on line. And, she said she would have someone in the service department follow up with my question specific to my car, but no one ever did.
2. I got the very distinct feeling the dealership has a new policy of trying to rip customers off. My car received it's 100,000 mile check up about 10,000 miles ago. When I got to the dealership to discuss what should be done this visit, the manager only looked at my service record after I requested he do so, and came up with about $600 - $700 worth of items he said needed to be done. I questioned him because it had received that major service so recently and he said, no, I needed these other things. We talked for a bit more and I asked him to review what was done at the 100,000 mile check up one more time, and low and behold! He finally saw that the two most expensive things he was telling me were needed were in fact done then and didn't need to be redone!
2. I was waiting for my service at the dealership, and after over 3 hours (oil change and tire rotation only things being done) I texted him to see how things were coming along. Turns out he was too busy to let me know my car had been finished (who knows how long ago). If your managers can't handle the level of business, maybe you shouldn't take on so many cars at once.
3. When we went over what had been done, the service total was about $200 but the individual items only totaled about $150. When I questioned that, he could magically give me a deal and reduce the amount owed by about $35.
4. The 18 (or however many) check points also indicated I was in need of new power steering fluid, but when I asked why, he said it was either the mileage or the fluid was dirty - he didn't know which. Since I was already feeling skeptical at this point, I asked him to go and check. The mechanic evidently said it was because it was dirty. The manager asked if I wanted to have the service done right then, but at that point I already knew I couldn't trust the dealership to do anything else to my car.
I have had my car serviced at the most convenient dealership for every recommended check up since I bought it in 2012. But after this experience I can't imagine coming back. I can't even imaging buying a Honda, at least from this dealership, when it's time for a replacement.
SHAME on you.
