CoCo Key Water Resort Reviews

I truly do not know where to begin. I will start by saying that I was incredibly dissatisfied staying at Coco Key Resort. The videos that were on Google were far fetched from the actual experience my family and I had. My family and I had stayed in a total of 3 different rooms. Each one of us had major issues. The Resort itself was dirty. When I checked in on Friday July 18th, just walking up the staircase from the parking lot, there was chicken bones, plastic cups with cigarette butts in them, and a container full of trash at the top. Then we got to our room and it has a musty smell. When we used the shower later in the evening it was clogged.

The next day (Saturday July 19th) when we were down at the pool (where there is no lifeguard on duty or staff anywhere) it was dirty with cigarette butts, hair bobby pins, and pieces of trash. As we sat underneath an umbrella table we saw 3 teenage girls washing their hair with shampoo under the shower, 2 boys that were around the age of 10 playing on the handicap stand by the Jacuzzi with no parental supervision, and an older gentleman that had an IV port with no cover over it in the pool. As we were packing our stuff up to leave, one of your staff members was testing and putting chemicals in the pool while it was full of people.

Later that night at about 8:30pm, we had came back to the Resort to change to take my nephew down to the splash zone. When we walked in our room, we realized that housekeeping never came to our room. We had no clean towels, we almost ran out of toilet paper, and the bed wasn't made. We tried calling the front lobby several times (6 times to be exact) and it literally just rang and rang. As I was walking out of my room, my Dad was coming out of his room because he had ran out of toilet paper and also tried calling the front lobby with the same result as me. I asked my Dad to let the manager know that I was unhappy. When my Dad got back to his room, he called me to tell me that the manager would be either calling me or stopping by my room when he was done talking with my Dad. He never called or stopped by my room.

The next morning (Sunday July 20th) my Husband and I had to shower and use a pool towel that I had brought with me that we had used at the pool on Saturday. Also, when we were packing our vehicle to check out, the exact chicken bones and cups with the cigarette butts in them were still on the staircase from Friday.

This is just my experience, not to mention anything that really happened with my family members. It's absolutely ridiculous that we had this experience, and I will never stay in this "Resort" again. Coco Key Resort should never be called a "Resort". It is a very nasty hotel that needs a lot of TLC.

I work in Property Management and I've never had such a bad experience anywhere I've ever stayed. I also know what good customer service is, and obviously this company doesn't know what good customer service really is.

Not worth staying the night but the water park is nice

Check in was at 3 due to the volume of people most people didn't get rooms till 6 . It was crowded maybe they need to expand or limit the amount of people who cant stay , most parents complained on how the overpriced cocktails at the bar just tasted of sugar , overall not impressed with staff or cleanliness .

The room has a bad smell. You cannot open the window for fresh air. The bathtub is dirty. And the cleaning staff is not friendly or greets. After arriving at 4:30 p.m. the room was not ready yet.

We had a good time here! Does need to have a bit more clean up around the building area, but overall not that bad.

Great place to be, and the staff are wonderful. We are planning a birthday party there next.

The room, was small, and the shower head was held up with a hair tie. We stayed two nights, and our room was never cleaned, they say it was due to the covid pandemic. You would think they would want to keep the rooms even cleaner due to the pandemic. But I guess that's my opinion .

Coco Key is really close to I-4 and it has an awesome water park that you can go to for $10 without having to be an overnight guest which is good news for Orlando residence.

Slides was closed....besides that everything was good...

Went for the day (June 2019) and thought the water park was very dirty. Given it was very crowded I feel they should be prepared in the summer months to have more employees on deck to make rounds cleaning the bathrooms, table & chairs, and the ground around the water park. There was a lot of trash and it just looked like things hadn't been properly wiped down and sanitizd in a while. I was disappointed because they do have a great facility set up but it seems like whoever is managing it just wants profit and isn't worried about quality.

Room had roaches in the dresser, bathroom was so thin we could hear the other room fart. Staff was rude and short. The water park was great however!

Service is great, the water park is great for kids, but for me as an adult, I need a more comfortable bed because I'm not a slim Man.

An Ok hotel. The room was clean, spacious, and all but had too many lightbulbs that didn't work. Wifi didn't work for me. The beds were too soft for me. Too many things were paid extra that should have been include in the price. I would stay again but only if i plan to use their water park.

I was frustrated. I booked on line and when I get the they couldn t fine my recervation and the make we wait for over 35 min. I payed everything on line for 2 day $310.00 and here they charge to you for parking $22-25 a day. I never have to pay one penny at any hotel in orlando. The gave me a credit for my wait. But I have to pay extra hotel fee over $75.00 more. That was to much for 3.5 hotel.

My family and I only used the water park, the staff are super friendly drinks are on point and food is great highly recommend this place I will be checking out about a room next time

I made a reservation and paid the extra money so I could cancel if needed which I had to and they took the money and now I m in a dispute with them. For someone who works at a hotel this is absolutely the worst service I ve ever seen before. Even with the cancellation number and all the information I needed they still don t wanna give me my money back.

There are nasty stains on the couch of our room. They overbooked so we were down graded.

The worst service I've got in my life. Rooms filthy, stinks, unprofessional staff, have no clue about customer service behavior, all we did was complain and complain and complain, the roof was leaking water, we couldn't take a shower, my daughters forgot their staffed animals in the lobby, we went back after an hour; they said that they have no clue about it. I asked to change my room several times and no one seems to help out. Finally we had to cut our stay short and run away in the middle of the second day... we left at night because it took us forever to solve the issue of refund between them and priceline. Finally they agreed to charge for one night inky and refund my doe the other three nights that I didn't use anyhow. They have a nice pool though and a good water park. But hygiene and customer service is below ZERO....please dont take your kids yhere...

The CoCo Key looks fairly nice in the photos but in reality it's very run down. Upon checking in, the blinds in my room were stuck slightly open so that everyone could see through them into my room. The tv doesn't turn on. The walls are thin so that you can hear the people next to you (which I have connecting doors on almost every wall) to the point where I can hear my neighbors use the restroom. I called the front desk the first night re the blinds and tv and they said they'd send someone to fix it. I waited for several hours with no one showing up. I then stopped at the front desk in the morning and they assured me they'd send someone. Upon arriving back in my room tonight the blinds just barely work with a lot of force (but at least they seem to close all the way) and the tv still doesn't work. There was no note left and no one called me to update me. Otherwise there is paint peeling in the bathroom and a heavy musty smell in the room, probably because there's no bathroom fan. The bed and pillows are very hard and the bed is very squeaky. I'm here on business (and booked this because it was seemingly one of the only rooms left in Orlando) so I have not been able to make it to the pools or water park to review but just based on the room I do not recommend. There's a reason why it was only one of the only rooms still available!

We have stayed at many resorts and hotels in Orlando but by far the kids enjoyed this one the most. We loved the price, location, and the customer service was amazing. They went above and beyond for our request. I'm 8 months pregnant and sometimes I am hard to satisfy (if you ask my husband) so while I hardly feel like washing my hair these days I felt it was only right to pass on my experience. Thank you management and the guy who fixed our toilet (5 minutes after i told them about the problem). Thank you young lady at the front desk for bringing some plastic forks and spoons after the restaurant forgot to give us some for our to go order, even though I asked them twice. Pregnant with no fork for my salad and cake was no picnic so I really appreciated it! We will definitely be back. The kids loved the water park and we loved everything else! Thanks again.

It is a great place to take the kids. There were a few things I was unhappy with but overall I would revisit. If you book your room you can show up any time that day and enjoy the waterpark before you get the key. They also have a bar close to the water park.

Remember this place is designed for a family with kids so do not go here unless you have kids or you will just be annoyed

There's no WiFi in the rooms, only on certain parts of the hotel.

Very comfortable hotel, however cleanliness passes every two days in the AP. The beds and bathrooms are cleaned daily. Only floor the room every other day.

This place is perfect to go with the family ... the children really enjoy the hotel itself has a beautiful park ...

Highly disappointed. Took my one and a half year old daughter there thinking it was a nice place for kids.. got in the first pool and they kicked us out for her having floaties on told us to go to the second pool got in the second pool they kicked us out of there therefore we couldn't swim with her unless we were holding her the entire time.. then as we were going to bed there was caca roaches crawling around our room.. won't be going there again..

The waterpark is great place for kids to enjoy themselves and parents ro relax. BUT it is a little overpriced.....

My family was just there last weekend and loved it!! Sure, I read a couple of not so great reviews beforehand but kept in mind that some people will only take the time to review when there's something negative to share. Anyway, the staff was incredibly friendly and the water park was a blast! The lifeguards were like Hawks and kept a tentative eye on everything. I never had the slightest worry if they were paying attention. They were. Always. The arcade was fun. The prizes were on the cheesy, dollar store variety but were were playing for fun not prizes. Our room was nice. Fresh decor and clean. The only negative thing that I would say about it was our refrigerator turned off when we turned the vanity light off. So, the drinks we had got warmer overnight. So what? I can live with that. I would definitely return to this hotel. I've stayed in a few places around Orlando and this was the best value that I've found.

If you have kids it's a good place to stay 2 or 3 days on your vacation at Orlando. The water park is very nice. The place is not too new. The rooms are simple, the furniture and towels too. The employees are very nice. The life guards are very attentive and professionals.

Amazing hotel layout, casual hotel rooms (still nice), cool water park, and nice convenience store. I give this a 4-star, because I don t really like the colors, NO hate, just my opinion. Good for kids as well!

1* isn't even worth it..... We stayed in this hotel and it was a complete disaster. The room a/c wouldn't work until finally our last night there. Room service came the 2nd day/night but it was like 6pm when they finally came.. The room carpet I don't think has ever been cleaned we wore socks and when we took them off to get in bed the bottoms were black. The bath shower had mold and the tub couldn't even be used to give little ones a bath they had to be given a shower. The refridge in the room never got our waters cold. 2 of the ice machines didn't even work. There was a gang fight in the parking lot which blocked our car in by 6 cops that arrived along with an ambulance and fire truck. The water park can't be accessed til 11am which would have been nice to have been told this, we went to go down before we had to check out only to be told it doesn't open til 11am so the 2 hours you think you can enjoy before check out....nope....I called to file a claim and 7 weeks later coco key says oh we don't have any record of your problems. I said oh because its now 7 weeks that i have been dealing with this. So they only credited the resort fee. I will be sure to leave every bad review possible for this place.

Customer service is horrible and the people who work here lack morals

Only attended for the Car Hire which was the worst experience ever!

The water park is excellent. And equal service. In hotel the rooms are comfortable and space. The customer service when we arrived 5 in the afternoon had no rooms ready when the entrance was 4. We had to wait another hour for delivery. If we had not gone through this inconvenience it would have been all excellent.

Nice hotel for the water parks but they have a strict policy for no goggles and honestly I don't know why but that's fine hotel is great beds and shower is ok fine hotel for younger people .

Great hotel. Water park was a blast - lots of supervision. Food is quick and easy - great service at the bar as well. Rooms are simple and kept clean. Pool and hot tub are warm and well kept. A great way to spend a day or two on business or in between park days. Also, close to lots of restaurants on Int l Drive

The staff at the front desk was very friendly, but when the A/C in one of our rooms didn't work it took me 2 calls and a trip to the front office to get the manager involved before someone would come fix it. The 2nd night I walked around the place and tried 7 different vending machines for a drink with no luck and the lady at the front desk was no help either. All day Saturday part of the water resort wasn't working. The only reason we chose this place, had to spend money to take the kids elsewhere because they got bored quick cause half of what we paid for was broken. I definitely would never bring my family here again.

We (my husband, myself and our 2 month old infant) booked this hotel with plans of meeting up with friends, however we mistakenly booked the wrong weekend. We still went, but were very disappointed overall. When we arrived on a Friday evening (5:15) I walked into the lobby to find three lines with 4-5 parties per line. I assumed it was probably just a busy time for them, so I waited in line. And then I waited some more. And even more. I stood in line for AN HOUR AND A HALF!! There were 4 people in front of me. Apparently they do not do separate lines for people with reservations already so one customer spent the entire hour with the employee trying to book a room. She was back and forth on what she wanted and was constantly on the phone trying to coordinate with someone else. That was unacceptable. No customer who is paying around $100.00 per night should have to wait over an hour in line to check in! Most places, now especially, do not want crowds of people, so they really should have had separate lines. OR they should have asked her to step aside and let others go ahead. It was not just the line I was in either, the other two lines were also having the same / similar issues. My husband who was outside with our baby came inside numerous times to see what was going on and every time, I had not moved. Finally, a man walking around who identified himself as the manager (the guy walking around with lemonade and champagne) approached my husband and my husband asked if there was anything he could do because we have a baby and had already been in line for 45 minutes. He mentioned that we already have a reservation and the manager did not care. He said there was nothing he could do and that we had to wait.

Eventually, I was at the counter and I asked for either a crib or a pack n play. He said it was no problem and asked my preference. I chose the pack n play. We finalized my reservation and we left to go to our room. My interaction was MAYBE 8 minutes. NOT AN HOUR AND A HALF!! I never received an apology at the counter and there was no sort of compensation for the amount of time we spent in line.

We get to our room and unpack some, only to find that the fridge is not working. We call the front desk and they send maintenance. He adjusted the temperature on the back of the fridge and we carried on.

Also, the room we had did not have a microwave. Out of every hotel we have stayed in, there is ALWAYS a microwave, but apparently not here. I called the front desk and they told me I could use the microwave in the convenience store.. which happened to be on the other side of the resort, so that was not feasible.

Later, we get our showers, only to find the tub was not draining. We were literally standing in a tub full of water before we were finished showering. Then, one of us had to wait until the water eventually drained before the other could get in.

After that, we attempt to turn on the TV, only to find, yet again, another issue. We cannot get the TV on. We checked the cord in the back, batteries in the remote, and pushing the button on the TV, nothing. We called the front desk AGAIN and they sent maintenance out AGAIN and he found the TV to be unplugged. He plugged it in and the TV worked.

By nighttime, we had never received the pack n play that I asked for. Luckily, we had brought our own bedding for the baby so we just used that. We were already frustrated with the amount of issues we had so we chose not to even call the front desk about this one.

The following day, after spending some time at the pool, we returned to our room only to hear the smoke alarm batteries to be dead/dying. For the THIRD time in our two-night stay, we had to call maintenance.

We travel frequently and have stayed in countless hotels, but this experience definitely is one of, if not THE WORST, experiences we have ever had. We will not be recommending this resort, nor will we ever be returning.

We were staying here for a small time period. We booked our flight with allegiant because when I looked up their website, CocoKey seemed to be the best one out of all the ones near where we wanted to stay. Unfortunately, that was not the case.

1: I call to make sure the hotel has our reservation before we arrive. I called twice and was told that I did not have one and that I should call Allegiant. I was able to finally verify, but not after spending two hours doing so.

2: the staff did not inform me of the additional fees, which I pointed out and they began to point out other fees, adding to my stress. They also were not knowledgeable about their hotel, area and what services are listed on their website.

3: When we arrived, we had to wait two hours for our room to be ready. They had an issue with their system and had to do things manually. I normally don t care about these things, but they have consistently done this to numerous families. It s frustrating to see and be a part of. I couldn t ask a question because the sheer amount of people waiting was daunting.

Either way, be careful when choosing your place to stay. The website for this hotel is untrue and the staff is not very knowledgeable.

Kids had a blast, some things could be better from an adult perspective. Room was a good size, park was perfect for our 3, 5 and 7 year old. Details, like an artistic mirror that you could tell hadn't been dusted in ages or a musty smell in the elevator (I'm sure from the wet people riding up after the park) could be better. But at the end of the day our trip was for the kids and they loved it.

I checked in at 4pm and went to room and there wasn't anything there no room preparation I had to be going to lobby to ask for things that I needed in room. People were nice but room was not ready even thou we got there at actual checking time which room should have been 100% prepared. Water park was super awesome. I would definitely go back as long as reviews and preparation gets better.

Arrived to our room to find that it smelled of musty damp mildew. The outdoor water park was closed in the section where 3-5 year olds could slide. They didnt clean our room one day. There were 2 cockroaches found in our room. Very dissatisfied with our entire experience and will not be returning. Would give a ZERO if I could!!!!!

Great family resort, water slides are awesome, newly renovated rooms and close to a lot of attractions.

I'm actually still here there's roaches in my room under the mini fridge I find that disgusting I told the front desk when I spotted them after me and my family returned from Disney around 10pm n I was told only a supervisor can handle that and they're only on the premises normal business hours..well we're in town for Disney therefore business hours we will be at the pArks so that's b S

Bring the group 26 pp. not too bad everyone enjoyed. Although front desk confused with our reservation but problem solved.

Arcade prices should be more reasonable during rainy days for missing out on the Outdoor Park!
More reasonable prices at the bar for rainy days also... 50 bux for 2 drinks is way too much, great drinks... very pricey!

Great cleaning! Communication we thought left a bit to be desired!

The room was very clean, had enough towels, the air gels very well, excellent hotel service and the best of all is the location. You can walk to the main sights of the surrounding area. The water park is very nice and the kids had a lot of fun.

This is the most horrible place to stay. The rooms suck, I booked the family room & it s not worth the money I paid for over $150, the hot tube was broken/not working. I will never ever in my life book this room again. I m disappointed in this room but lucky it s only for 1 night.

This is NOT a resort! This is more of a motel with sketchy people hanging around when it is dark out. The first room we got was disgustingly smelly! We asked for a different one which made a difference, but even in that second one you still got that lingering smell! The splash pad was closed so that was a bummer; one of the swimming pools had dirty water daily. The staff is absolutely not helpful and really do not care to the point where you wish they could at least pretend. Anyways that was our first and last time there!

Pay a little extra for your hotel, don't book there! Trust the numerous experiences about that place! And if you decide otherwise, well... Good luck to ya!

We were visiting the area and didn't want to spend hundreds on an outing with the kids so we thought we would give Coco Key water slides a try. We thoroughly enjoyed our day there; it was clean and the staff were wonderful in both skill and kindness! We appreciated how alert all staff were at their posts and on top of things that were a concern ( if any presented) The kids enjoyed the indoor and the outdoor portion which provided something for all ages. The meals provided at the restaurant were well priced for the portions. We would recommend Coco Key to friends and would go back!

I was visiting a friend here. The hotel was really cool with an on site water park! The rooms were clean and the staff was friendly

Breakfast buffet food was horrible either too salty or hard or greasy. For lunch we ordered food that included nachos which where stale and soggy. The chicken tenders tasted good. The room was made to seem like it was poolside, I saw more of a wall than the pool, The room was inside the hotel instead of facing the parking lot. The water park is a lot smaller than expected. Arcade was the worst one I ve ever been too. Prizes sucked. Games either had an out of order sign or just weren t turned on. And the ones that did work sucked. And overpriced. The bartender by the water park was the best thing about this place. He made great drinks. Parking was horrible. Hotel is expensive and just not worth it. Hot tub broke on the second day of our stay. This hotel reminds me of something you would have had a lot of fun at in the 90s or early 2000s. I just expected more for the price.

Very nice waterpark, I do recommend they renovate the rooms... ourban tub leaked water and the lock on the door was broken... other then that we enjoyed our stay

Odd how they make you go through the hotel, obviously setup as perk for guests rather than to attract outsiders. Just as good as some of the other water parks, but for less money.

Rude staff, everything is broke in the arcade, slides closed down, the slides you can go on the stairs are so unbelievably hot you burn your feet badly, stay somewhere else

I was very disappointed when I arrived at the CoCo Key Hotel. This hotel did not meet my expectations at all. To start, the rooms are dated, paint was peeling from the ceiling the furniture was rusted and stained. Wi-Fi was horrible! I had to go outside for service. Bugs were in the bathroom and the inside the shower was mold. Requested an updated room however they were unwilling to work with me. Contacted my travel agent and we were given a new room which was not any better. Since my stay was during hurricane Irma a lot of the hotels were booked. My travel agent was able to relocated us to another hotel the next day! Would not recommend this hotel to my worst enemy. Spend a little bit more and it will be worth it.

We came here on December 23, a bit worried about how crowded it might be due to the holiday season. But there were just a handful of people, and there were no line ups for any of the slides. The water was heated so very comfortable. Most of all they only charged us $5 per person due to some seasonal special. We were expecting to pay $18 each when we came in because that's what their website says. So all in all we had a great time!

Very fun place. Room was clean, hotel in good location. Half the water stuff is under a covering which is cool.

I m still waiting to get my deposit back from 12/15, if I hadn t noticed that I was not refunded they would not have said anything. The towels are small as hell and they charge you for a microwave and fridge. The restaurant is overrated and over priced. I loved the bar, front pool movie night and jacuzzi.
