Friendly staff. Waiting times varied from good to not so good on the more popular attractions. The food was decent, but pricey as expected. The only thing that stopped me from giving 4 stars was the behaviour of another visiting group. I understand that they were eventually ejected for being abusive, but the situation could have been handled more quickly.
Great day out, food is reasonably priced and the animal talks are brilliant
Good but not worth for kids below 1meter height. Probably a weekday could be better in case we want to avoid rush.
great place lots of ride for all ages and levels of daring. As you would expect queues can get very long especially on warm summer weekend afternoons when all Merlin pass people think why not head their for a few hours.
The fast track is a good investment if you are going their as a one off as cuts the queue but you still might wait 15 mins on vampire...
Food wise, you are limited to the fast food outlets the vampire burger being about the best.
It was fantastic,a lot has changed since i was last there, down side food a bit expensive and long wait for the rides but that is what you expect overall lovely day out.
very good hotels nice we have went to multiple parks and this is best one
Stayed overnight at the hotel, breakfast was superb! We ended up with a family room. Lots of space
My 8 year old had an adrenaline surge ! The rides were appropriate for his age. Definitely visiting in d'a nearest future
Great place to take smaller children. Rides are fun. Some bad Customer Service experiences though.
Love chessington have been taking my son since he was 3 and he has always enjoyed. I have been visiting myself for over 30 years . Would have been 5 stars but the gruffalo ride is now very disappointing and where was once a fun for all tbe family ride discourages older kids by the theme and was ot very good or interesting unless your mad on the gruffalo
As with so many adventure parks, it's a great day out but the queues can often be more extreme than the rides. The staff were friendly and helpful and the layout works well.
Take us 2.30 hours and we get a fast track ticket .....no rides
Lots of space here but as usual you had to wait far to long for the rides! Better than Lego land.
Really great place to go especially for those with disabilities, both park and zoo, highly recommend it
Although the rides were great the Nitrogenie stall was shut, there was a half hour queue for hot dogs, the donut machine stopped working and staff failed to communicate this to waiting queue and staff attitude in general was poor - they seemed far more interested in chatting and joking with each other than helping customers and attending rides. The last time I visited I came away with a positive impression, this time I have to say the staff really let the place down.
Very enjoyable experience , staff we have to give 10/10 for the effort they made with our daughter and the information given to us about the animals. Lots of rides to choose from covering most children's hights. Was also refreshing to see a vegetarian/vegan food outlet, not dogs I believe it was called, and I did spot the option for jacket potato's not often you see a healthy option in a theampark and something I moan about quite often
Its nice place but not much fun at this time of the month.
Its a wrong time we go there as most of the rides are close.
Summer is the best to go there.
Been there a few times over the last few years. The site is starting to show its age, needs some tlc and money spent on the theme park with dome new rides. Did not go on many rides due to the very long wait times over 2 hours on some. Also More
Brilliant place! Very impressed with the amount of detail to rides and nothing seemed old and dated. Very tidy place too. Overall everyone in our party had a great time.
Fantastic day out. My daughter's age 10 and 6 thoroughly enjoyed themselves
Great day out for all the family with a mix of something for all ages. Start with the zoo and catch the sea lion show or dive in to one of the many thrill rides. Young or old there s something for everyone here. Try and use the fast pass system to maximise your rides on the day and look into the Berlin passes if you plan on costing any of he other joint activities available through it and save loads of money.
It's not the biggest or the best park & hotel but my kids enjoyed it there age 10& 7 so its a thumbs up .
Very fun to visit, lots to see and do too, its is recommended
My favourite place for taking the grandchildren but so very expensive to get in. Resent the cost for taking a 5 year old in when he can't go on all the rides :/ but saying that, we always have a fab time and make wonderful memories.
We have the merlin annual pass and love going to this park as you have the best of all places animals ,sea life and rides not as many as other parks but you got the animals.
FANTASTIC. Staff are awesome. Made the experience faultless. Strongly recommend going . Everything is perfect . Food , organising , hotel, santa, elves , rides , animals (those that were about) so much to do the kids never get bored. If you have kids and have never been then get booking. You wont regret it. If you have been then you know what I mean and have probably been back
After travelling three hours to get to the theme park we managed a grand total of three rides in 8 hours! The rest of the time was spent queuing, we even ate our packed lunch whilst in a queue. While the park was lovely and very tidy there just aren t enough rides to warrant the money and with there being so few rides it just means you are queuing on average 2 hours for anything half decent! Not worth the money in my opinion
The place that doesnt stop giving absolutely wicked day out
Shame they dont do any family discounts
I'm one of 9 children and was as fortunate to have many trips like these as a kid due to monyey thats why I wished these places was cheaper considering those circumstances
But furthe more I'm grown and have my own children who get to have all these luxuries and more
Will come again
My kids they just love it. Easy rides for their age and a place where you can gave a great family day out
The Theme park was brilliant then stayed at the Azteca Hotel the family room was excellent and the food at the temple restaurant was great. No hall options however the vegetarian selection was great
It was horrible, the park itself and the park staff were not well trained and not acomidaded to any disabled persons. With some of the park staff asking you to prove that you can walk. Then your wheel chair would do you think you can walk. The food was good but I will never go back again.
We go quite often with our Merlin Passes. Our kids probably like this venue the best out of all available with Merlin.
Ideal for families, looking very rundown in parts and definitely needs investment.
Different to how it was when I was young but my Wife and I now in our seventies thoroughly enjoyed it the animals and the rides the one's we went on fantastic day Mike and Sheila
It rained all day. Prices in places to eat are very expensive. Workshop talk I booked was not the one we got although the employee did well to adapt the talk once I had a chance to tell her.
Couldn't really experience chessington at it's best. All students very wet and cold. Decided to leave earlier. Will we come back, unsure.
Great day at the zoo and sealife centre, weather wasn't good, kids had a great time though and me
Great Park shame all they care about is money and not customer experience, they make people wait for hours in queues so they can make you pay for fast track too make more money out off the paying customer, customers all ready pay a high price too get in so why should you have too pay more too get on rides quicker it's pure greed by merlin entertainment.
It's always an amazing place for the children to visit lots to see and if you time arrival you can get on majority of rides for 3-6 year olds with a relatively short queue time
Love this place been my go to place since a kid :-)
I understand they may have lost money whilst closed and are trying to recoup that but there were FAR too many people on site, many of whom had no interest in social distancing.
Made it an anxious day and not really enjoyed.
What we did manage to do safely was enjoyed though so bumps it back to a 3star.
The ques start from the minute you leave the car. Every ride had at least 60min wanting time and than you get a 2 min ride. Some of the big popular rides had been taken away. Spent most of the day in the que.
Brilliant 2 days at Chessington. Lovely hotel, go for the themed rooms if you can afford it. Early entry on the 2nd day is brilliant for beating the queues.
Very overcrowded ( Saturday).During covid You must pre booked Your visit so management should be aware how many tickets they sold.Waiting time for a ride up to 90 minutes. Cleaning procedures ok, stuff very friendly. No possible to keep social dystans, can not blame people just management. To get to the gate only took around 40 minutes.Understood safety procedures, like temperatures check etc. takes time but still too many people.
Most of the staff were pretty grumpy there was like a massive que for everything, there didn't seem to be enough staff who knew what they were talking about and seemed more interested in talking to eachother rather than helping guests.
Amazing place for the entire family. Lots of things to do and see, with live music, food, drinks and entertainment all day through. Really impressed and definitely good value for money. There is a hotel inside the Park. Would recommend overnight stay if travelling from far as there is a lot to see. Two days better than one to enjoy the rides and everything else. Thumbs up!!!
Not as good as I thought. Some rides are great but more aimed at children teens then young adults. Less of a mix of rides for all ages
Excellent maintained forest. Super fun for kids and adults. Did the play trail with my 4 yr old nephew. Had great play options and made for a nice walks for us adults. Couldn't do the cycling because they didn't have double cycles where my mom could ride along instead of cycling by herself. The segway and go ape looked exciting too, but didn't do it because my little nephew was along.
Brilliant place to take the kids even better if your a Merlin placeholder
Very disappointed with the parking. The parking area was very muddy with large pot holes on the exit road. Kids had a good day but I feel merlin has lost its way with what I believe are over priced food and drinks. To make it viable it has to appeal to the pockets of many.
Extremely busy. Dragon's Fury ride got broken, Tiger' Rock water ride was closed. Managed to ride only on 4 rides as quing time on each of them was over 90 minutes. Otherwise fantastic.
The kids love Chessington. But it's the same old rip off from Merlin. The staff need to be a bit more switched on and there could do with been a few more on most rides to get the queues moving but then Merlin couldn't charge as much for extras.
I first went to the zoo in the early 70s, with 2 friends, in a dad's camper van. Been a couple of times since, but this time on a day when it rained within an hour of arriving. The park has plenty of rides to queue at. We never got to the zoo, because my daughter was moaning about the weather.
We got the 1/2 price offer, where the handwash bottles were supposedly required as proof, but they didn't even check them! For what it is, at half price is just about right; 48 quid for a ticket is taking the p ss.
Great time at Chessington on Bankholiday Monday and Tuesday. Only had a 3 year old and 1 hander 1 so wasn't queuing for the big rides. Was busy but not bad waiting times for the little rides. Hotel stay was great and you get a lovely view from the Safari hotel of the giraffes and other animals. Staff were friendly and helpful.
It would be excellent trip with the school if we had more time.
My wife, 3 young boys and I absolutely love spending time at places like Chessington. We stayed before in the hotel and had a great time so we decided to come back a month or so ago. It wasn't the greatest of experiences to be honest... We arrived around Midday and spent the afternoon in the park. Unfortunately whilst waiting in the queue for the Gruffolo ride, after about 20 minutes we were told the ride had broken down. We were then told to try again later. A similar thing happened on the log flume, again after around 20-30 minutes, we were told the ride was closed due to the wind. After this the laser ride was closed also! We then checked into the hotel, we tried to book the swimming pool but was told it was booked until the next morning. We booked for the all you can eat buffet and this was awful. For adults you could either have a roast dinner or a curry.... Not the biggest selection of food! Then the ice cream machine was broken so the boys couldn't have any! We made a complaint and got half the money back for the food and we were told to go to the customer service centre in the park the next day to pick up some fast track tickets.... This was great, but we had to queue for 40 minutes to get these!! Overall, after paying a lot of money for this trip, it was shockingly bad to say the least. Very disappointing and we won't be going back.
Nice park, more aimed at kids & families, Vampire & Dragons Fury are the two main rollercoasters but Thorpe Park nearby (its sister park) is the place for big rides, this ones for the little people :D
Rides were fun staff were friendly and helpful and food was delicious
Went in summer hols & beautiful sunny day... queuing was a nightmare at least an hour wait for each ride. Had to fast track!
Dragon fury had technical fault which we were all left waiting & wondering what the hell was happening. We should have been informed of delay & why, costs a lot of money for this theme park & a bit of information would have been just courtesy.
Rameses revenge awesome.. prepared to get wet if sitting in middle.
Food ok price, easier than taking picnic & lugging it around.
Drinks expensive.
Back again and loved it. Although still disappointed that all of it was shut again.. and also couldn't try the buffet.
BEST THEME PARK I HAVE EVER BEEN TOO! Very friendly staff and fast rides like rattlesnake and kobra etc. Also fun for the family and thrillers (Loved the hotel super clean)
Rides are fun but very, very busy. Queues for the big name rides were pretty much minimum 1 hour ago day long. Can only really manage 4 or 5 rides in a day with those queues unless you spend more money on queue jump tickets.
We were very lucky as we barely had to Queue. Loved the new Gruffalo ride. Lots that my 5 year old could go on (he is just over 1.1m).
Probably my favourite theme park in the country, if not the world
had a lovely time with kids but they don't have many rides comparing to Alton Tower!
I have not been here in a long time but myself and children enjoyed it very much, they should not of kept the bubble works instead of changing it to the Gruffalo and they need to clean out the seats as they are discussing!
Fantastic theme games for the young and old and some of them are very challenging for the faint hearted
Never had a problem before but when we visited it on the half term the lockers weren't available all day and nobody seemed to want to help!!!
Great day out with the family. The go ape centre next door is also awesome.
Hughly expensive. Very tired looking now. Long queues for big rides. When we went two broke down, stuck for two hours. Very disappointing. And they charge extra for parking. Never again.
A complete rip off. everything too expensive you spend lots to gain entry. Then to be ripped of by drinks and food there, can't bring your own food or drinks in
Nice place but queue for rides are pretty long.... So buy fast pass is really worthy.
The worst queueing ever. don't visit on school holidays. there should be a limit on how many people should be in
The kids enjoyed our visit to chessington and their stay in glamping 16-17th August. Good was great, evening activities limited due to weather. I found the staff very disinterested though. My husband had his hat and sunglasses (not cheap brands) stolen while on dragons fury. The staff member did not seem bothered even though she suggested to put the items next to her. Reported to information point and advised to hear from them via email. Still waiting. Terrible service. If it wasn't for the rides and the zoo for the kids then we wouldn't have stayed for so long.
Chessington is a place for all ages and even if your not a fan of rides there's still plenty to do! The zoo is impressive with large areas for the animals and you'll even see endangered animals like Rhinos! (Though I think you can only see these on the safari?) I'd say the best time to visit if you can is just after the school holidays have finished, no queues!
Very good day out, so much to do. The safari was fantastic, getting up close to the animals. The animal talks were very good to. Typical long ques for the rides but if you plan the rides you want, theres plenty of boards displaying the current que times, you can go to the quieter rides first.
Too many people which made it difficult to socially distance. It s also quite noisy and if you have an autistic child it can be difficult. There is a lot of unnecessary artificial noise from outdoor speakers lining pathways to artificial noise created on certain rides.
Really good day out for this time of year. Tickets priced really well for the amount of stuff that was open and could easily have stayed the full day if it wasn't so cold.
Will think about coming back next year.
My son loved it.. Not just roller coasters but a zoo too. Plenty of things to do & see. I'm glad I booked 2 days tho, would never have done all we wanted in 1 day.. Only downfall is the queues for the rides, you can wait up to 90 minutes for some.. Will definitely be visiting here again in the future.
