To be honest I normally rate chessington quite highly however my experience today has left me with the need to never return again. Instead I will be sticking to alton towers who seem to actually value their customers to a much more than satisfactory level than chessington do. First things first, I know it's the summer holidays and these parks get busy, but in a whole day we managed three rides. So as an adult paying the full amount on entry to the park has left a rather nasty sting in my wallet. Secondly, two of the rides we queued for (waiting around 35 minutes each and not even getting anywhere near the front), we were told they had broken down and needed to leave the line. On no point were we offered complimentary fast pass tickets (as alton towers would do and I have experienced on several occasions which is a credit to them) to make up for the time we lost in the lines. Thirdly the fast pass queues are also a joke in the way they are managed when entering the rest of the line with us more third rate patrons. It seems to be that having a fast pass means you do not have to wait at all. The staff seem to feel that as soon someone lines up in the fast track the must be let in. Again this is something that this park cant seem to deal with unlike our European counterparts. They need to learn that fast pass can wait 5 to 10 minutes before being let in. They will still be getting on the ride quicker than the usual line. So no, I am afraid chessington is definitely not worth the money. There are other parks which I know value my custom and others more. So please up your game chessington.

Kids loved this place. Queues were ridiculous and volume of people made social distancing impossible although many tried, some people completely oblivious to the coronavirus quite happy to barge past you or stand right behind in the queues which were unbelievably long. There is no way they are limiting numbers. It was absolutely rammed. Clearly trying to make up for lost revenue over peoples safety. If there had been less people it would have been so much better. Nice place loads for kids food not brilliant nothing healthy and expensive.
Also 2 of the rides broke one was zafari we had queued for ages for. Kids so disappointed

I would not recommend going on a rainy day as the car parks are not fit for purpose and you may end up having to push your car out of the mud. Once in the park it was perfectly pleasant

I've been to the theme park before which is great but stayed at the hotel (2 nights) for the first time and had mixed feelings. There were a lot of pros such as the pool; decor; customer service; cleanliness; views from restaurant and lovely large playground just outside. However the breakfast and (buffet) dinner we had were awful, the worst I've had. The hotel entertainment for our young children (2 and 4) was also very disappointing. We've stayed the Alton Towers resorts during the same season (Halloween) and they were sooo much better (with both food and entertainment) for not much more money. It's quite unfortunate because the park has more for toddlers than Alton. We will stick to day trips in the future.

Would give 5 stars, but when we were there, number cars broke down while I was already 15min in a queue. Having picture printed as a driving licence on "little truckers", and also Cera didn't work on "scorpion" ride. But overall great day out.

We have got Merlin passes which make things a lot more reasonable. I admit the prices on the gate are a bit expensive but people seem willing to pay it as there is so much to do. My son loves the gruffalo so the stage shows and river ride are perfect for him.

Great place, disappointing experience. The resort is beautiful and has lots of gardens. There is plenty to do for all ages and the various catering services are spread across the park. The overall user experience was very bad, major attractions were either closed most of the day (Vampire ride) or randomly closed while waiting in the queue. This issue affected mainly the rollercoasters but not only and created increased waiting times on other attractions. This makes me doubt on the maintenance of the rides. The fast track option, at an increased price, is a game killer for others, those in the queue sometimes stand still for 30mins while the "rich" enjoy. This is a bad commercial strategy. The ability for people to team up with a disabled person is also a game killer when 6 valid jump the queue accompanying 1 disabled. The staff shows their best profile in a harsh environment and that is enjoyable, being warmly welcomed at all times.

It was a nice outing with the family. Most rides are 60 minutes +. We waited 40 minutes for one ride only to find out it was broken. Everything else cost . The equipment is dated and unmaintained from an engineerings perspective.

Fantastic place with everything for the family! This is the best place to visit of all the merlin attractions as we feel it has a little bot of everything for everyone! Great zoo, rides and staff

Can not recommend Chessington, resulted in nothing but disappointment and tears for my children. Huge queues for rides with fast track pass holders streaming on to every ride Infront of the lower class standard ticket holder. Many rides we queued for broke down and shut before we got to the front. Meaning we wandered back and forth across the park from queue to queue. Eventually we purchased some fast track tickets for Scorpion express, which we were not able to use due to the ride breaking down and opening and closing before totally closing. Staff couldn't use a measuring tape to save there life telling me my son is 1.1m, he is 1.22m with out shoes on at home, when I questioned staff were extremely defensive and dismissive. This meant my son couldnt go on the tiger rock ride he had been talking about going on for weeks. Honestly we do want our money back for our park entry as it's supposed to be a fun day out but the kids did not get any enjoyment from it.

terrible first experience at Chessington World Of Adventure. This is was my first experience and honestly I am disgusted by the discrimination I had faced along with my family. This theme park is one I would never recommend to anyone of my friends and family.

I had brought one ticket online five days prior to my trip - I had initially planned to buy the rest on the day. I had the Kelloggs "Grown ups go free" vouchers which are valid up until June 2020. I had checked both the Kelloggs and Chessington website to check whether the vouchers were valid or not on the date I wished to go (19/08/2019). There was no such information that the vouchers will not be valid on the day.

I had immediately went to complain on site who had asked me to email you and receive a refund and compensation for the discrimination my family and I had faced. I even called in the helpline this morning as directed by your website and also learnt from one of your staffs that the voucher was not valid from 20/08/2019 till 30/08/2019; meaning that the voucher was valid for yesterday.
I am truly very unhappy with my experiance and I will never consider Chessington as a choice for a day out; nor will I recommend it to anyone I know.
I would appreciate a response as soon as, and I would like compensation for what I had faced. Truly disgusted!

Rides regularly break down, no regular coke available in the restaurants, only 1 train running on the vampire, long queues all day...but it's okay they'll charge you for EVERYTHING so that's good!!!!!!!

I wouldn't recommend Chessington to anyone. They hardly had any rides that were appropriate for my 5year old daughter (As alot were for babies that were age appropriate - not a days worth of rides for her at all). She was half a centimetre out of being able to go on the other rides. Which in my opinion is too strict, as she was accompanied by adults, and was subject to the staff discretion on other rides - hugely unfair and unprofessional. It was severely over priced. The staff were unhelpful and bored. And it genuinely took us 1 hour and 45 minutes just to get out of the field that we parked in, you still have to get out of the rest of the park along the rest of the fields that were meant for parking. It was awful. Go to LEGOLAND or anywhere else instead.

2 HOUR QUEUES?!

2 HOUR QUEUES?!

While our kids enjoyed themselves it really wasn't a good experience. Some rides had a two hour queue and there was no way we could make our 5year old queue that long so some of the best rides had to be skipped.

In total we got on maybe 6 rides total so it certainly felt like a very expensive day for what little we managed to get out of it.

The park itself is chaotic and so disorganized it was stressful finding our way around. None of the major rides are even signposted and several members of staff we asked for directions were completely clueless.

DON'T BUY REFILL CUPS

If you enjoyed queueing for 2 hours for a ride then you'll love queueing for a drink. It looked like the queues for refill stations were as long as for some of the rides. People in the queue were moaning they'd been waiting 40minutes for a drink!!!!

ANOTHER VISIT?

So would we be tempted to go again maybe on a quieter day? There's a lot to do at the park and some of the rides we missed look fantastic but having looked at other reviews it seems like this is a regular problem at Chessington. If you're going and can afford the expense of fast track passes do that but I can't recommend Chessington to families without them unless you enjoy waiting around.

The older chap on the snake ride made our day, he was so happy, it was as though he was proud of the ride and glad we had chosen it. Burger from next to the vamp ride (formally McDonalds) needed some work, looked nothing like the picture.

We have visited Chessington for three years running and it never disappoints. There's so much to do for everyone, zoo, rides, sea life centre, arcades and even animal talks and shows. Definitely worth every penny :)

First time visit and nicely presented place!! Zoo was very good with plenty of things to do for kids to interact and especially enjoyed the sea lion show!! Rides are more for the younger thrill seeker! Dont get me wrong still some good ones but this is no Alton Towers. Obviously though better for the whole family as all ride together!!
Went on bank holiday sunday and although the heatwave had been predicted all week this place still didn't have enough water/drinks!?! Water etc sold out at all stalls and vending machines managed to get last few from sealife shop. Hence 4 not 5 stars.

Very busy......too long wait in ques...please have access to water/drinks ......I stupidly forgot to take water while waiting for Zufari....hot day was feeling quite ill waiting....Zufari has good space to sell. Attendants not knowledgeable enough for parking or queries......I won't be rushing back.

Couldn't of asked for a better day. Shut down rides were up and running within the hour, didn't try the food, only downfall is the price of food so we bought a packed lunch.

I'm more than impressed with themes and decorations with the park and themes aswell. Perfect for a family with children between the ages of 6 upwards :)

Listen, I'm all for the fast pass but today it was crazy! Practically over an hour each ride wait! Or more! Staff just letting on vast numbers of fast pass holders way ahead of the masses. It was ridiculous.
O and another thing for car parking exit tickets there's only two, that's two pay centres. So for the hundreds of cars you want, wait and wait!
And the park food is sky high in payment! Also it's in a state of disrepair. Not as good as I gr8 all. Spent about x4 hrs queuing across the whole day you need to know thisisnot good and makes me feel reluctant to bring my family back!

We booked for four people to stay for one night over two days on a short break. It wasn't cheap.
One thing to point out is that once you book the break there are no real obvious prompts to book things.
Book your breakfast, book your dinner and book the pool ahead of time because upon arrival it's a first come first serve basis and almost everything is gone.
The package doesn't include Fast Track so when you get to a ride you can wait anywhere from 20 to 90 minutes.
On day one my kids didn't get on a single ride.
So with day descended into a stroll around the park to see animals we called it a day and booked into the hotel. Note you can only book in from 3pm.
Once in you get a TV and some facilities in your room. The room is actually not bad with great views (Safari Hotel).
But this won't alleviate the issue of boredom. They boast an evening of fun for kids, except there was no real evening of fun. No disco, no meet and greet...nothing.
Chessington is an exercise in tediousness, mediocrity and doing home things without the comfort of your home.

You've been warned.

Lovely day out. Queues were long but to be expected. Are hot dogs from the little hut by sea storm and ladies working didn't seem to know what they were doing and getting orders wrong etc other than that it was brilliant

Great fun day! Sunny too! Lockers not working and no way of knowing until you hunt them down (very annoying). Great to see vegans catered for at the 'Notdog' food place too! Front is best on Vampire ride. Have been left with earworm of theme music today can imagine the Tigers getting very tired of it though

A wonderful family day out on a gorgeous, sunny day! I prefer Chessington World's of Adventure when I come with children because there is a lot more for the little ones to do. The new Tiger themed ride and tiger viewing area is really good.

It's a shame that the park and restaurants close at 5, so when you come, bring plenty of snacks and be prepared to stand for a long time in the queue for popular rides, unless you buy fast track tickets.

I wouldn't even give the place 1 star! I've cried all way home (2hr drive) I feel so bad for my poor daughter who has spent the day queuing for rides that have technical problems. Half the rides are closed. We couldn't sit to eat as was no space but still taking orders. Had we not pre paid wouldn't of bothered.
Will not refund our tickets but would replace with another day ticket! You couldn't pay me to go back. Oh and need a 4x4 to get out park grounded the bottom out of my car!
I urge anyone please do not waste your money and end up with the disappointment we all have had! Has made my daughter's birthday memorable for all the wrong reasons

Good effort at social distancing around the park, Plenty of room for a comfortable and safe visit. Wait times were significant due to reduced capacity on some rides. Kids were frustrated a lot of the time as a lot of the park is still closed. More needs to be done to enhance the experience. Would not have visited if it hadn t been for our annual membership.

The park and rides were ok, the drink machine at the Chicken Burger restaurant was flat, to which we made staff aware, so we ate our meals and went to get the drinks we NEVER had. The manager came out bellowing that the drinks were not refill, ( didnt mention it to the guy in front who also went to get a drink) quite rude tbh maybe have someone changing the drinks at the front, or put a note making people aware the drink machine not working.

Great for small children, but not a lot there for adults. I know it s because of the proximity to Thorpe Park and that they don t want them competing for the same demographics, but it still would be nice if they updated Vampire or bought in a totally new Roller Coaster concept. The Zoo makes this place what it is though.

It is still a good place to go with children but it seems the queuing time for each ride is too long. My children wanted to ride the Vampire and it took them more than 2 hours to queue. So 3 stars for that reason.

Great for all age groups. Dirty fries eaterary was lovely and very reasonably priced for a theme park. App very helpful in marking what everyone wanted to do and direction to closest ride in order.

Get an annual pass, great value for money! Lots for kids to do from about age 4 up. Only a few rides for little ones and a softplay but the zoo and sea world will keep them entertained too.

Very crowded with people unwilling to distance. The app was misinformative on what rides little one could go on which was frustrating when you got to the ride and saw a different height restriction to what the app said. The app had the wrong closing time also. Not enough staff around to ask for clarification.

Love this place.... One of the best theme parks which I've been going to for many years now, this caters for all ages and fears! My only down is that it is expensive as are most places like this and sometimes que times are too long.

Fun evening courtesy of O2 priority. Only issue really was it was very dark and hard to see the distancing marks and many people not adhering to them. Also not greatly marked to get out as came in one entrance and didn't realise we left a different way and totally turned around.

Lovely park, the hotel is disappointing though. Don't bother with the buffet at the tower restaurant, it's disgusting now. We went in 2016 and it was amazing, now you'd be better off at McDonald's!

Been here several times and always enjoyed it but today queues were insane - 120 minutes for Vampire! Later on it became 180 mins according to the app (which was not updated with correct queue times when we got to actual queue). Spent whole day there and only managed 4 attractions. Fast Pass prices are ridiculous for a family of 4 but turns out without it you probably won't get to do very much. System like Disney's better where fast pass is available without extra cost so you don't feel like you wasted money on entrance tickets as you cannot do anything due to crazy queues!

Very disappointed .spent a fortune on refill drinks for my three grandchildren to be told that there's a problem with that CO2 and couldn't have the refills I would have thought there would have been an alternative, but no, also one of my grandchildren are disabled he has a brain tumour and we wasn't allowed a ride pass because the hospital letter and his disability entitlement wasn't clear enough since when has the staff in the box office been brain doctors my grandson has an extremely rare brain disease which the doctors now very little about so how can the staff now more. I'm so upset that I couldn't give my grandchildren the day out they needed and deserved. I'm taking the children to another park next week and I think this time they will have a great time I won't come to Chesington again.

Very bad and disorganized experience. Confusing fast track program, no clear fast track sign at line up. Entry can't even scan the mobile barcode to work, and ticket barcode not even in pdf format that you everytime takes a least few minutes to load up using data. 4 of us paid $200 GBP just for the entry, then found out its impossible to do any rides since all the queue are 80-120min regular line. Paid extra 6GBP per person for some called fasttrack ticket, then end up waiting in their "fasttrack" line for 35mins still. This is Disney price for local cheap rides and clearly those outdated system and rides can't really handle capacity. Even my Uber driver is surprised for us to choose this instead of Legoland.

Worst theme park. Inexperienced and rude staff. Under educated must be earning minimum wage and take out on customer. Long queue. Took over one hour to get out the car park. Only 2 lanes out, legoland has 4. One staff workinf. Poor design of the roads. One place put me off forever.

Not how it used to be or how it should be. This theme park is just about taking money. The themepark has some good rides but most of these are well over 20 years old and really could do with some up keep. They employ mainly young staff and unfortunately it means that the park is not well looked after. The prices are extortionate and really should be lower with the amount of customers they get. They have changed a couple of rides but they are just exactly the same ride but with different content so after 20 years of visiting its plain boring now. The food is terrible in most places and a lot of staff have a couldn't care less attitude. It's a shame management don't re vamp this now very tired theme park.

it is a good place,, but the queues are too long you will surely have to wait 1 and a half hrs minimum for the good rides,, which means you can only do 4 very good rides and 2 or 3 ok rides in the entire day.. there is a very good parking but if there was rain on a previous day then you need a 4x4 car in the parking area, but the staff are very helpful to push your car through the mud
