One of my favorite Caribbean restaurants. I love the atmosphere, nice seating, good music and service. Started with the jerk wings, done right, and the delicious seafood pasta. Next time, I'll try the jerk chicken and/or oxtails. The Bob Marley drink, so good, I tip my hat to the bar tender. Plenty of parking and I heard, on the weekends, it is pretty crowded. I'm definitely recommending Chef Rob's.

I was looking for a place to have a nice space to celebrate my bday. so my co worker, told me about Chef Rob's. I told my friends that we were going to go. We made reservations, and it was my fault we were late, they accommodated my party and I with no problem. Our waitress (Lisa) started right off the bat, with this attitude, but I was not going to allow it to ruin my time, she not only moved where we were supposed to sit, but she she would come take our orders, rush us and wouldn't come back for 30 mins. then when she did she would take stuff off the tables to give to other parties. We order our food and drinks and the food was definitely really good. she came back over and then took a table away. one thing that I can say that it was a woman that was helping out (Rain) and she was the sweetest. she made sure that we had everything we needed. I felt very unimportant and disrespected. even if I came late, I would not be rude. when we get our checks, the waitress loses our debit cards and tries to blame others. I talked to the manager ( Keisha) and I told her that I was going to write a review. She defended her waitress, for being rude and unprofessional. Then they add 18-20% gratuity for a party of 4 or more and dont tell you till after you say something The waitress (Lisa) went over and started talking under breath and in return had an even bigger attitude. I would never go back. I loved the food, but I the service was horrible, and it ruined my night for me celebrating. 2.5 stars for the food and a half of star for accommodating me being late. NO STARS for rude and attitudes, people can do without that!
Haven't visited Atlanta GA in 20 years and everyone said the food was great. So I was determined to visit. We all enjoyed our Caribbean/Southern dishes. Big Up!
Awesome vibe! The DJ was on point played a lot of 90s hits with more up to date music dispersed throughout. The rum punch was lovely. The crowd was grown and sexy. Just go!
On Saturday Afternoon I was headed to Chipotle and my cousin suggested we go to Chef Robs. We get there and are seated with 1 menu, we then sit there only to see that several other tables orders were taken before ours and then a server acknowledges that the other server had not come to our table. We finally order receive our drinks but I order an entree and my cousin orders a quesadilla my order comes out before hers and I am almost done by the time her order arrives the Server Nicole tries to recover what has taken place thus far be telling my cousin she will get her some coco bread on her as she does not have her food yet, is hungry and I have to eat mine before it gets cold. My cousin leaves because after eating her food she feels sick I await the bill but no one ever comes to the table I then go to the front to ask for my bill and dont you know it the coco bread is on the ticket. I tell Nicole she told my cousin is was on her and for a second she had no idea what I was talking about but then corrected the ticket. This was a horrible Experience. No one goes out to spend their money to not receive a good experience. We did not act a fool, complain, paid our bill, left a tip but not a good one we would usually leave for obvious reasons. There was a faded attempt to make up for it but never really addressed. We continuously gave the benefit of the doubt but the experience was BAD from the Entrance to the EXIT. We WILL NOT return. Thank you. But No Thank you.

While I always want to support minority businesses, this restaurant suffers from one common key affliction, Terrible Customer Service.
I was (past tense) a very loyal customer, for several months, often ordering $40 worth of food per week. However, today, when I placed my order the "Chef" decided that he no longer wanted to accommodate the minor modification that I requested on my order by simply adding a slice a cheese. I was happy to even pay extra for the slice of cheese, but no, Chef Rob does not respect customer service or loyalty enough to make even minor modification. This is a result of pure ego and lack of respect for their customers. Even McDonald's will accommodate adding cheese or removing onions. And I am sure at this point, Chef Rob's is not over 1 billion served. Unfortunately, with lack of customer service, they are not likely to reach that feat anytime soon. It's a shame that ego trumps talent.
Order the chicken roti. Three little pieces of chicken, two potato wedges, and a bigggg roti. Two much garlic in the food. I would not recommend food. Nice setting. Need good Jamaican food!
This place is not what they say it is. I came here for dinner with my family wasn't too impressed , but my husband and I decided to come back for lunch a few days later. Bad mistake!Food is over priced, and that night my husband was so sick due to that's all he had eaten that day! let me say I love paying for a great meal but I want to enjoy the food and the atmosphere! The food was pretty good but the service was not very inviting. They charge extra if you want white rice instead of rice and peas since they make rice and peas their standard so expect to be charged extra if you want white rice with curry goat or curry chicken etc (very backwards). They charge 15-18% gratuity for take out but don't tell you until AFTER you've paid for it. They have a lot of attitude so no matter how good the food could be it's not worth it. This establishment has a lot of potential to be great but they need to put more emphasis on good customer service and transparency.

2nd time here and probably my last due to a very unpleasant experience. Went for dinner, restaurant was empty with the exception of a few pick up orders and the food took 45 minutes to be brought out for a basic order. The meal was also extremely spicy and left me feeling sick after. This needs to be addressed by the management/owners.
I really enjoyed the experience here. I attended a comedy show. Not only were the comedians extremely funny, but the food was awesome as well. The food may be a little on the pricey side, but the coconut shrimp and the Jamaican Rum Margarita was definitely worth it. I would recommend this place to anyone who is new to the city.

The food is awesome tasting however, it is on the pricey side and the portions are average to small. The service is good but you can not get anyone to answer the phone if you need a reservation or have questions.
Very slow service, especially thru delivery and poor management. Made me wait 25 minutes while they trained someone in the midst here of me collecting my order

Food was good but service left a lot to be desired ! I do not know where the hostess and the waitress we had have worked before, but they were definitely clueless when it comes to courtesy, restaurant customer service and attitude; plenty of attitude actually (!), kind of doing us a favor ...!
For sure, We are NOT going back ! There are other Caribbean restaurants in town, with same or even better food, with definitely better dining experience and much better service. Chef Rob better provide a lot of training and attitude adjustment to their hostess and waitresses stuff.
We waisted both our time and money, by going to this restaurant, and will definitely not happen again......

Great spot to have some good old fashion fun. the Food is great, the lounge/bar is free to come in and there is a live DJ on Saturdays. There is no real dance floor, but that is what makes this place unique, The Dance floor is wherever you feel like dancing. The crowd is good to. good combination of young and older.
I'm very critical when it comes to Caribbean food and customer service... Both were absolutely astounding! Items on the menu are well priced for the quality that you're receiving. I'm making another visit to try other items on the menu!

Waitress was nice. Food taste good. The amount of food could of been more, I didn't get a lot of rice. The Ox tails was Delicious but not meaty and the Salmon was very dry. I might return to give it a second chance.
Great live music spot for Reggae and Caribbean music. The vibes are perfect once you get a few drinks in your system and take in the low light atmosphere. I normally don't like jumbo wings but they have the best braised wings I have ever tried in my life despite being big. Definitely recommend them.
I've had the oxtails which were favorable, but I ordered the seafood pasta, disappointed only 3 shrimp, crowfish was hard....presentation not pleasing to the eye. No garlic bread or salad.....c'mon dude stop being greedy. Thats why ppl spend $$ with them other folks. You have to maintain the image you worked so hard to build...

EVERY bite of the food was Great! There were four in our party. We had seafood pasta, jerk and curry chicken and those oxtails. Oh my, the bread pudding with rum raisin ice cream,peach cobbler, Coco Bread, ok you can taste it too. It was a fulfilled Sunday lunch.

I always eat here but, the last three times the service has been extremely rude. This time it was a pregnant girl. I understand being pregnant but, it s not an excuse to mistreat customers.

Being Caribbean I really was looking forward to the ox tails being on point! They did not have that Caribbean flavor I was hoping for . Tasted more like southern style oxtails. I have had better! I enjoyed the cabbage mix! I wasn't happy to pay extra to get plantains instead of peas and rice to get 1 whole plantain cut into quarters! Really! If I pay extra I expect the portion to match!

This is my 2nd visit to this restaurant and I must say, that they have sealed the deal on me not going back.
To their credit I give them a 3/5 on the following items
1. Food
2. Food Portions and Presentation
3. Prices
That s where anything good stops at this restaurant. I visited the restaurant roughly a year or so ago for lunch for 2 people, the lunch portions seemed small for the price but the food was okay. However, it took us 20 minutes to see our waiter for the 1st time and put in our order for drinks. Food came out quickly, but part of our order was missing (we chalked it up to a mistake). After the food was dropped off, the waiter didn t visit to check-in for another 25 minutes, at which point we were done and asked for the check. It took another 15 minutes to get the check, and another 10 minutes to get my card back. Fortunately, our check balanced out and we left. I chalked that visit up as the waiter having a bad day, as the restaurant was empty.
Fast forward a year later, and absolutely NOTHING has changed! The service is still horrible, and their hidden gratuity policy is shady.
My wife and our workers got to the restaurant around 8:50pm, and got seated quickly. However, it took our waiter 15 minutes to show up before we could place our order for drinks. We placed our drink orders, with one exception my wife wanted her drink to come out when the meal did. The 3 of us got our drinks rather quickly, and placed our dinner orders. Our meals came out, but my wife s drink never showed up even after the waitress came by twice, she decided to forgo the drink and just ensure it wasn t added to the receipt. We all wrapped up our meals and waited ~15-20 minutes for our check after we asked (even though the restaurant wasn t busy). Finally, we got our checks, we noticed immediately that the balances were way higher than we expected. Upon inspecting the line items, we noticed that the restaurant added a line item for 18% gratuity group of 4 or more . Nowhere in the restaurant or on the menu was it listed that a 18% gratuity would be applied to group of 4 or more, which is a shady business practice in my opinion (especially after such crappy service). I have no problem tipping 18%, but I believe the restaurant should let customers know of this ahead of time. This is essentially removing any incentive for the waiters to do their job. Nonetheless, we paid and walked out of the restaurant about 10:10pm.
My coworkers wanted to check out the lounge section, so we went and grabbed a seat at ~10:30pm. The waiter quickly came up and asked if we knew what we wanted to drink and we asked for moment to review the drink menu. It was 16 minutes before she showed up to take our orders (even though the lounge was slow). After she took our order, the drinks didn t show up until 11:25pm (40 minutes later) at which point we were ready to leave she came by 10 minutes later, at which point we asked for the check. It then took another 20 minutes to get the check and pay so we could leave, which also had a line item for 18% gratuity group of 4 or more .
So, between the lounge and the restaurant (which are attached to each other) we spent ~ 2 hours of our time waiting for our server to show up, check-in, bring our check, bring our food.
If you are looking for Caribbean food, I highly suggest that you go elsewhere and not waste your time with this establishment.
Cool spot. I ve been here twice. The first time was for a comedy show. There is no stage which basically put the comedy in the audience but it was funny and I had a good time. There were not enough waitresses for the crowd. One waitress forgot her deodorant that day and it was very close quarters. She also forgot I order some wings so they didn t come until close to the end of the show. The wings and chef robs punch were good.
The second time I came I had the jerk chicken ( pictured) I started eating before I remembered to take a picture. It was delicious and flavorful. The service the second time was great.

I went last Tuesday late and ordered one oxtail dinner and a side of plantains and it cost almost $30!!! The food was ok but I have had better from other Carribean restaurants for way less money! Never going again...

This place offers a imatation of jamaica food and drinks. My lady friend and I ordered a seafood dip app. Not bad. We ordered a chic/shrimp pasta dish and a fish, cabbage, and rice dish. The pasta was drowned with a spicy seasoning and the fish was overly fried. The RUM PUNCH should be called RUM KOOL-AID. Service was slow and area of eating is tight. Not worth the money. Ive been to Jamaica, save your money until you can experience REAL Jamaican food.

Been there several times and the food is actually decent. I am usually a hard critic because my family is of caribbean descent and I was raised in Miami where it is very fluent. Some of the prices can be somewhat high but not outrageous. I really wish he could expand or move to another location where there is more room for the lounge area. The only downside I have is when i was there last i sat at the bar solo. Ordered one drink and an app, i got a family emergency call not long after i sat down. I asked the waitress for my bill and she sent it. I paid not noticing gratuity was included. I tipped again and told the waitress (Angel), hey i didnt realize the tip was included. She said its required and I said I tipped again by mistake. She said what you trying to say, smiled and walked away. Horrible customer service in my opinion. At that point i was mad and just worried about getting to my family. The worst part of it all i was waiting on a bunch of guys to come and planned on spending money on more drinks hand a actual meal. She would have gotten the same tip anyway. When i went back i didnt order anything and was disgusted at the level of service for a mistake. I owned up to it but not sure if they will get much more of my service.
My friend and I tried this place for the first time yesterday, and we both ordered the jerk pasta. It. Was. HORRIBLE! It was watery, salty, and we immediately got a pounding headache after just a few bites. We had to throw it away, $25 down the drain. We both were highly disappointed, and will not recommend nor return...
Love it! However, please check your bags. They ALWAYS forget something and it's so delish, I always go back for it. Grrrrr!!
Had some brown stew chicken last night it' was the worse brown stew chicken I ever had. I'm a true Jamaican stop giving Jamaican food a bad name

First time here since moving to Atlanta. Atmosphere was nice. The fried snapper I ordered however was not. The fish itself was stiff, rubbery and not flavorful. My gf had the steam snapper and it was just as overcooked and not seasoned well outside of the extra salt. Not what I was expecting. Our server, Lisa was very pleasant and attentive. Excellent customer service.

Had a really bad experience with the so called hostess/cashier. She was not wearing proper face coverings, and was extremely unhelpful and rude to me. As all I was trying to do was pick up an order for delivery, she basically told me to go ahead and cancel my order as they were not prepared for my arrival. Will not ever consider spending my own money there

The place has lost its luster in ny opinion when it first opened the food was better. The lounge is a nice touch but they should give those who eat the restaurant and go next door to the lounge a discount. Kudos to Lisa who was literally doing everything in the restaurant she needs a raise/promotion.
Me and my BFF of 50+ years ate here for our birthdays. Food, service, and Ms Kitty were fantabulous. We will come back.

So I worked there for 3 days! No breaks for 12 hour shifts ( the cook Rob Jr told me to eat and handle business before I come in at 3.) prepping food on trash cans with trash in it , cleaning raw meat in hand wash sink and holding ya speed cart of food, in the dish pit that s the right way CIA Chef Rob?? Then when I couldn t shower (water was off at house ) or come in clean cloths Rob Jr tells me to bathe at work in a sink . They use dirty towels to the limit and definitely cross contamination on everything in the kitchen , take old meat and add with new meat. The sanitation and culinary practices are off. All this was in 3 days at the restaurant. Thanks CIA grad for saying we do things the right way, but do everything wrong. YOU ROB not a chef just a man wanting money . Thanks for the opportunity to learn good and bad. I m a reflection of where I work.
My co-workers and I went in for lunch this afternoon (8/15/2013) and all I had on my mind was the stew chicken I was going to order! Our waitress was Lisa, who started off just wrong. She asked if it was dine in or to go. We said we only had a short time to eat and if we could get in a to-go container but we would start off as dine in. She said I can give it to you in a container but you can't eat it here because "to-go" means "to-go" and Chef Rob would have a fit and he pays writes my check. I knew right there that this was not going to be a positive experience. I said there is nothing else on the menu that I wanted and that I may just watch them eat. She actually just said ok and walked off! I ended up trying something else, food was too salty and rice and peas tasted like they were scarped from the bottom of the pot. The peas were crunchy! We were brought a glass of water and through-out the meal, she never came back to ask us if everything was ok, or if we needed anything else. Another waitress had to notice that our glasses were empty and come refill them, Thanks Toni!! (I think that was her name) she also has to bring us the napkins that we were never given! the only thing she came by the table to say was " is this on separate checks?" I am Jamaican and a true West Indian restaurant is far from this place and the people and service should be warm and friendly just as the people are. The owner actually sat there as we walked out and didn't even say did you enjoy, have a nice day, come again, NOTHING! and nothing is what I left as a tip. Worst service ever!!! if you ever decide to go here make sure you stay clear of Lisa!

The food was AWESOME!!!! However... I visited this afternoon w/ a party of 13. We let them know in advance we were coming. We also knew what we wanted to order before arriving. The customer service by our waitress Lisa was horrible. Upon sitting down she didn't even ask what we wanted to drink and proceeded to pour us water. She said she was learning a new system and to bear with her. When the food came out, someone by the name of Crystal brought it out AND brought out everything else. Lisa never came back. Crystal addressed all of our concerns and brought us anything else we needed. She was bringing out everybody elses food at all the other tables too. Lisa showed back up near our table after we were mostly done eating and someone else part of the party asked if she could bring our checks and Lisa responded, " I was" and didn't return for another 20 minutes. Someone had to actually pour their own refill of water. When we spoke to the manager, because she had brought out an dessert, she was very nonchalant about the bad customer service and we wanted to know if we could tip Crystal and she said since she wasn't in the system she we couldn't tip her on our checks. When our checks finally came we told her that we aren't paying her a tip and we wanted to tip Crystal she got an attitude and she said she had to redo the checks, but she returned in 5 minutes. But it initially took her 20 minutes *confused* Too many other things went wrong w/ the orders of the others. I don't know if I will be back and if I do I don't want her as my server.
