Chef Rob Review

Born and raised in New York and coming to Atlanta you would expect all Caribbean restaurants to be the same. However my experience at Chef Robs changed my outlook. Upon walking into the restaurant I felt very welcomed with the greetings I received from the staff. My party and I were sat quickly, our waitress did an excellent job on describing the specials for the night and even suggested a few cocktails & beverages we should sample. After choosing the Jerk Chicken and Shrimp pasta along with a Jamaican Rum Punch coupled with some amazing conversation and service from the staff I left the restaurant very satisfied. We will be back...

Food is far from Caribbean......it's more like bad try at authenticity. Their so coco bread was just yeast dinner rolls. Its an insult to me, a real Caribbean. Don't waste your time.

We arrived maybe an hour before closing. Much to my surprise the food was still pretty good. He had the jerk chicken and I had pasta. I would definitely return if I'm in the area.

Very very expensive for a jamaican restaurant, not enough food, ackee and salt fish dish was not seasoned, not salty. My food was moderate had oxtail and jerk chicken combo, was a bit too sweet for my liking, peas soup was good.

When you are from the islands like I am you know good carribbean food. today I was feeling for soup so I called in and found out yall had red bean soup and blue crab soup! I was excited until I ate my food

taste like it's from a can, I got no meat which was fine I guess and I had two miniature dumplings, it was extremely salty. food was horrible, staff awesome. And I guess this restaurant is so bougie I was not allowed to taste my carry out inside... It was also on the door. to me this is like eating knock off jamaican food I was not pleased at all Mr Chef Rob

I don't know who wrote some of these these reviews but clearly it had to be the restaurant itself. This place is terrible. Save your time and money. Go elsewhere. First of all we purchased the groupon which stated a reservation must be made. However ww called for 2 weeks never once did anyone answer the phone or return any of our messages. We decided to take a chance and just go on our last night in the area. We arrived and they refused to honor the groupon. The waitress was trying too hard to be overly friendly till it was annoying. The other staff memebrs were rude as previous reviews noted. The oxtails were so salty it was inedible. The plantain over cooked. Food cold. Peach cobbler that wasn't. You can't slap some crust over hot canned peaches and call it peach cobler. Gross. And the kicker was they charged $30 for a glass of rum. That was more than my whole meal. Never again. Save your time and money. Horrible service horrible food. Dissapointing experience.

Great atmosphere and service, the food was just ok.

I was referred by my cousin to visit this restaurant so i did. My waitress was very nice but I was very disappointed with my meal. The oxtails were tough not tender hardly seasoned and the greens were terrible; they were cold and under cooked. I was treating my guess to dinner and she asked if they can take back the greens and bring her rice and peas because they were so terrible. Long story short, the manager was not professional and did nothing to accommodate the fact that we were not happy with our meal; she took $1 off. We had dinner and a cocktail totalling almost $70. Not happy, not recommending and wont be bqck!!!!!

I ordered the two meat to-go plate with curry chicken and oxtails. The oxtails was on the sweet side. The curry chicken was good. But I don t believe that this restaurant stands out from the rest especially for the prices. Very high for OK food. I definitely don t have to go back.

Food was just ok, not bad at all but let me tell you... I ordered 5 shots of Fireball for my friends to try and they charged me $10 a shot and it was listed on the receipt as Hennessey. $50 for 5 fireball shots is freaking ridiculous. On top of that, we were charged 18% automatic gratuity for that rip off. I'm done. I will go there to hang with friends but they won't get another $1 from me.

The Best Curry and Jerk food I've ever tasted. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.. try it.

They kept messing up a simple drink crown apple as some thing else..

Ambiance is pretty chill and laid back. Waitress was cool and knowledgeable. Ordered the Rasta Pasts (vegan) and it was decent.

I am not a Jamaicaan food connoisseur but i love this place. I do not like jerk on anything, so I can't give a review about that. BUT the Cajun seafood pasta is one of my favorites. My other favorite is the curry goat. Very tasty!!! I eat here practically twice a week - so much waitresses know what i order when I walk in. ***beware, The prices are a bit high for the portion sizes.

The live music was everything!

The food was amazing. The waiter was knowledgeable and laid back. The atmosphere was mellow.

The drinks were good and when the food came out there was no silverware so we waited 15 minutes while another server that was not even our server assisted us and told us "we need to find silverware because we don't have any" so when it was found our food was cold. Our actual server it took forever to even see where she was so I went to the manager to address our concerns and says on what you want me to do "Re- warm the food? I'm confused who asks to to re-warm the food? No I want y'all to have silverware. The customer service was very unprofessional and I would not recommend coming here. I been to several restaurants and never experience a restaurant that does not have silverware. There was not any real concern to even make the situation right from the manager or the server. Thank you to the one server that was not even our server to even find silverware.

Ordered Curry Goat with Rice and also had Fried sweet plantain. Curry goat with Rice was so delicious. Fried sweet plantain was good and quality was same as that we get from whole foods hot bar.

Great place to visit. The menu is excellent! Chef Rob was very friendly. They also have a upscale lounge next door. You can eat and party at the same place!

The service was good, and the food was amazing. Everyone enjoyed their dish.

The place is wonderful our waitress was Lexi and she was so sweet and help us because it was our first time going we will be back

This place is so overly priced for certain items and lacks any flavor. I paid $13 for oxtails with rice and beans, and added the mac & cheese for an extra $2 or $3. I'm so used to really seasoned & flavorful oxtails from other Jamaican restaurants.

The service was good ,the food was great ,the rum cake excellent.

Very disappointed! I ordered via amazon and I never got my food. Amazon was great and refunded me but I m a mom with a baby and I m hungry and I can t leave my sleeping child obviously to get food. I live right around the corner and I ve sent several people your way who wanted good Caribbean food. But I ll never send you business again.

Order the oxtail with rice and peas and cabbage. After two bites I can feel my blood pressure rising! Way too much salt! For $15 this was a waste of money. Nowhere near authentic Caribbean food! Very disappointing.

The food was on point, the waiter ran my card 4 times, once would have been enough, just hope it didn't go through. Paid for the food with my other card.

Great customer service & the atmosphere was great, quiet and cozy but the food needs constant attention to cooked vegetables and the rice & peas was off in taste

If I could've given a 0 star I would. The food is worth the 2 star. The customer service was abysmal. We go in and were greeted warmly. I'm going to preface that my brother said they were slow and I expected that. Cool. The hostess seats us (party of 4) and after 20 minutes comes back to get our drinks. Let's us know that our server wasn't there yet (in the building. ) I didn't realize that we would be ignored. The hostess who was our initial contact let us know that serving was not her job when we asked to to place a dessert order with her since our server was absent. the server finally comes. Gets our orders we Had hoped period of course the orders were not correct, we barely got any drinks refilled due to our hostess chummy with the table of gentleman And Ignoring us. Then when we get the check's there are added items that we did not have. The charges had to be fixed and then I learned that and automatic gratuity of 18% was added for a party of 4 which the server did not make us Aware of period I don't have a problem tipping but what I have a problem with is tipping someone who did not provide any sort of customer service she wasn't there for almost an hour of the 2 1/2 hours we were there. The food was the only saving grace in this whole trip. However upon check out and finally getting the bill fixed I look up in the sanitation score is a 87%. I Then became concerned. I wondered about the cooking staff since the serving staff was so underwhelming. I will not recommend this established friend to anyone I was I Tremendously disappointed in the service maybe I'll do a to go order If there's another next time. Research other Caribbean spots 1st.

Great food but staff could use some Adderall pills.

The food is over priced and under cooked. I had greens, 2 rib bones lol &, mac and cheese. The bill was $17ish o and no drink!

This was the worst Jamaican food I have ever tasted in my life and I have eaten some bad food.
Steer clear of this place the service was rude but the food was worst I cant believe they won any of the awards on the wall this place should be condemned. I wish I could give them no stars

Service and atmosphere were nice, the food was good, however the cost for a bottle to sit in a booth was ridiculously overpriced for such a small intimate space. Next time I will go to the restaurant and sit in a booth.

Host was nice nasty rude....very unprofessional. But I expect it from girls like her.

Work in the neighborhood, just wanted a quick meal. Called it in but assume the price won't exceed $15.00. Only to my surprise I was told $19.00. What the hell? That was the price of a whole goat! The flavor was good but food was definitely over priced. Call any other Caribbean restaurant and the average price for Curry Goat would be between $12-$15. It had to be a golden goat or a platinum goat they used for that meal. The rice and peas, I actually counted 10 red beans. That was my first and my last visit to that restaurant. Our Caribbean folks price themselves out of the market then later complain we don't support them. Good luck brother!

I had been raving about this place to a friend, so I finally took her. The food was tasty per usual :-) however.... we placed an order for the seafood dip and although the dip was tasty it was not dip! It was Alfredo sauce with seafood mixed in. The dip was very loose, I ordered the seafood pasta and it was literally the same Alfredo sauce. Again although the "dip" was flavorful it wasn't dip :-(. The Jerk Chicken Pasta is a go to ! It is super flavorful and just simply delicious! They are not stingy with the chicken and shrimp either. Once the bill came we notice they added 18% gratuity to the bill. The 18% gratuity was a surprise since the menu notes that they add it 18% to parties of 5 or more. and not mention adding 18% for parties with less than 5. Overall the food is very delicious! Would definitely recommend this place for food and drinks! They also had a drink special of the day going which was good as well!

Never going back. We went there for my daughter's birthday. Food is not good by Caribbean standards and overpriced. My dad ordered the snapper and they didn't even fry it well, tasted bland, we returned it and got him a good old chicken dish. All our dishes were total disappointment and watch for that 18% tip they auto add to your check....you SHOULD SUGGEST tips, not add them automatically.

Love this place food and music was great. I went on a Saturday for a party and 18% gratuity on everyone's bill and it was only one bartender. I sat at the bar.

Food is "good" if you want something to consume but nowhere close to what those meals should taste like. Being a native Jamaican, my expectations for Jamaican cuisines are set. While I have no problem sacrificing quality for quantity, ordering an Oxtail or Curry Chicken meal only to get quantity 75% of what traditional caribbean restaurants typically serve while paying an additional three to four dollars market price is an insult. I only gave two stars because of the atmosphere.
If I wanted to eat "American" food I would go to an American restaurant.

**Update: came back for lunch and ordered oxtails this time and i am extremely pleased!

The food was GREAT ! We had the jerk chicken, tamarind glazed wings, sweet fried plantains, and the jerk turkey burger .Everything was well seasoned ,however the only thing that wasn't to great was the sweet potato fries that came with the burger. It had fresh minced garlic sprinkled on top ...it totally overpowered the taste of the fries. Otherwise I would totally recommend you try Rob's Caribbean Cafe.

Lisa at Chef Robs certainly provides World Class service, she is the epitome of customer service and professionalism.

Worst place ever. Food was not up to standards. Rice grains were tough. Some of my food never came out until it was time to leave. Do not waste your time here. Owner was not very approachable.

Wait to long for a to go order, also most Jamaican restaurants give you at least one piece of plaintain... they dont

I love, love, love salmon. Request to broil med-well blackened & it was layered so thick with seasoning, overcooked & dry. Waitress Lisa offered great service.

I purchased lunch today for both myself and a co-worker. Not only did they forget to give me my drink and pepper sauce that I asked and paid for... but when I called to let them know, the employee (Toy) tried to tell me it was my fault that she didn't remember to give me my drink. When I called back to tell them about not having my pepper sauce either. Same thing she stated that she just for got.. Unfortunately, I did not have the luxury of leaving my office to go back for it... She had no sensible idea of how to correct this matter, so I asked for a manager.... I thought my disappointment would of ended when a manager,finally came to the line. WRONG!! The level of unprofessionalism was at an all time high... Stupidity (lack of a better word... ) best describe her... What came out of her mouth (as a manager, [problem solver]) baffled me. Keep in mind it's my lunchtime. She wanted me to come by after work to pick up whats missing and enjoy it then.... Told her I need to eat now (diabetics can go too long without eating).... WHO DOES THAT?!?!.. As a manager myself, I would of expected her to at least offer to take back the bad order, correct it and give it to me hot. ANYTHING LESS IS JUST PLAIN WRONG!!!
Needless to say, my office will no longer be waisting time nor money there again... What a shame...

I had the Oxtails. Was not impressed. Due to Covid the inside was closed during my visit but from the look, it seems to have a nice atmosphere. Food leaves much to be desired though.

My husband, sister, her husband, and I did not enjoy our visit here. Like I've seen at a lot of restaurants, you must use a QR code to view the menu unlike other places you use it to order as well. Which I don't mind viewing the menu from my phone but paying before I receive my order while dining in was offsetting. We only went because my brother in law wanted a Bob Marley. Him and my husband both ordered one while my sister ordered a flavored lemonade. The flavored lemonade was the only thing that saved this review. The Bob Marley was premixed according to the waitress which in my opinion means that there was no bartender. Who premixes liquor? Even with that being said the guys hated the taste. Lastly, with app ordering table service was lacking.

The Jerk Turkey Burger w/ garlic fries where absolutely delicious. The atmosphere, music, and service were great. I'll definitely be back w/ my family to try other selections.

I love this place!!! The food is excellent! Service is amazing! And the drinks ooooh the drinks :) !!! I will back. Sunday nights they charge a $10 entertainment fee per person. Which isn't bad but something you should know before arriving.

The managers and owners are thieves, in my opinion. Showed the Mayweather fight without paying the licensing fees. Had strict security that would not let in anyone that was white. Used excuse of dress code while casually clothed people could be seen inside.

The room was packed. They made massive bank off the fight and cheated like a titty bar house momma palming tips. Pay your license fee, and quit playing like some kind of thug club with menacing looking gangsters for 'security'.

"Restaurant" closed by 9PM. What restaurant closes at 9 on a Saturday night, then stays open until 2 for 'entertainment'? The high price of bad food there is a big clue that they are not getting 50-50 food to alcohol sales. They are not there to 'just' sell food. They are a night club.

This is just another urban/suburban nightclub VERY thinly disguised as a restaurant. Sandy Springs PD and permits should really check out this 'restaurant' that will not let in white patrons because $80 jeans 'aint nice enough'.
