I had a great experience at Chef Rob s. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. The food was flavorful with the perfect portion size. Aside from food, this venue has cocktails and hookah. The only downfall is that the hookah services fees are separate from the actual food ticket. I d like to be able to combine them on the same check. Other than that, the hookah and drinks were perfect. I really enjoyed the Caribbean cuisine.
The food is good, but the service is terrible! When you charge upscale prices, you need to have upscale food as well as service. I was very dissatisfied with the service. I came to place a to go order to go and have a drink while I waited for my food. I ended up staying a hour at that establishment. It took 20min for my waiter to bring the check. That s just the tail end of the experience. This place is not worth the money for me!

The food is good, a bit pricy for some entrees, since the Caribbean place around the corner is the same style and slight favored. The wait staff was slow and I did not know why. We visited after work and there was only 2 other tables occupied. The waitress did not know the menu or the specials. This was my 3rd time there and it didn't get better with staff. Love the setup and foods, I suggest the combo plates and the rum cake. Staff should be more professional with getting at the door, seating and checking on you at least once!! By no means is this Upscale at all, but it is ok to satisfy that Caribbean craving.
I usually order the curry chicken. Lately, the meat has been pink. This is the second time I've had to throw out the whole meal or most of the chicken. They need to make sure they cook the meat all the way through. Lately, the food hasn't been that great. Giving them a break for a long while.

Now I may be bias because my family is Jamaican, full on authentic, only lived here for about 8 years. Have a restaurant in Jamaica, so I m oh to familiar with how Jamaican food taste. Chef Robs was good for Americans but not if your from islands. It s just ok if you familiar with Jamaican food. Rice was mushy. Oxtails could use some more seasoning and braised more. Cabbage lacked flavor, seasoning too. Curry goat itself was good, I personally would of like more pepper but it was good. Again, white rice too soft. The greens to me were ok. I don t like sweet & savory and these were that. Also could ve been cooked down just a little more, too much crunch. Overall the food was good, not nasty at all just not the authenticity I m use too. For the price, I m glad they did give big portion of meat!
I love Jamaican food! They can make anything vegan. This place is great. My dad is Jamaican and he would take us to our great aunt house and she would make us some Jamaican food it was excellent as a child in New York. This restaurant is really close to her cooking style.

The atmosphere was dope. The live band was very entertaining but as a foodie, the food was just OK. Oh yeah, the drinks were on point. I had stewed brown chicken & oxtails combo. Guess I'll give it one more try then post another review
The food was great, and the DJ was awesome! The music was a little too loud to converse with those at your own table, but other than that, it's a great environment! The bbq salmon was ahhhmazing!

I came with high hopes and was excited when my meal arrived. The oxtails/ curry goat combo was excellent, sweet plantains were on point and the turn me on cocktail was delocious. The waitress was friendly and polite so on that note we'll be back.
The food is okay. The jerk is sweet, it made the taste weird and the cabbage was very bland. Also it s very expensive to not have plantains come with the meal. Will not go again.

Chef Rob's is located in Sandy Springs nice location. The food was not bad but not what I expected. I was excited to learn they sold roti when I ordered it they charged me ($18) for a dinner and then I had to pay an additional $3 for the roti skin. So to my dismay that was not what I expected. Then when I got home to eat my curry shrimp roti it was Thai curry. I definitely was disappointed. I paid $36 for a curry shrimp roti that costed me $21+ tax and it wasn't even the curry you would expect from a Caribbean restaurant. (I ordered a Moscow Mule while waiting for my food). The best part of my experience there was the drink I had while waiting on my overpriced Thai curry shrimp.

I had to get up from my table and go inside to request silverware and napkins, and then again to request a box and our check, we received our check but no box, I had to request a box again. Wasn t busy for all the delays. My waitress kept disappearing!!!

My best choice for a light meal for lunch or dinner is the Jerk Chicken Salad. I topped it off with regular sweet tea chased with lemon juice along the rim of the glass and in my tea. You leave satisfied!

This restaurant could've been good but it fell completely flat on its face. The layout is odd where you have to enter the restaurant through the lounge which seems backwards. The food was very pricey for what u got ($10 for 5 wings lol) and if they were the greatest wings I ever had I could understand but they were only meh. The server ignored us the entire time which only insulted us when they automatically included gratuity on our tab. When we asked them to remove it they gave us attitude. Would not recommend.

Great food just a bit expensive especially the dinner menu. Out of the many times I have been there the only negative experience was I went to pick up a take away and the girl behind the bar tried to act like she couldn't print the receipt and had a horrible attitude. That raised a red flag so I insisted so she gave it to me and I found she added gratuity to the bill. That's why she didn't want to give me the receipt. It was only $4 so I didn't say anything I just shook my head and left. Like I said great place but you have to be careful with some of the employees.

I went to the lounge area earlier this month to celebrate my birthday... excellent decision!! The service, food and atmosphere were all on point. My mango chicken was absolutely delicious. Once the DJ started, it just got better! He played great dance music and even gave me a shout out. Highly recommend this place!

Was a cute atmosphere, but we only got menus and water, we weren't even told that a waiter was coming to take our order. For awhile so we had to get up and leave. Poor service, can't judge the food because we couldn't even try it.
This food is horrible!!! The macaroni and cheese is watery, the cabbage was bland and the red snapper was dry. If your Caribbean this is not authentic Island food. I complained about my food the owner was so rude
I have never dealt with an organization so unprofessional. From start to finish, you have to deal with attitudes and pure rudeness. I'm open to giving people the benefit of the doubt on a bad day or 2, but staff at Chef Rob's have been rude and disrespectful from the beginning through the end of EVERY SINGLE ENCOUNTER I have had with them. I will NEVER eat here again. There are other outstanding Jamaican restaurants minus the unprofessionalism and pure nasty attitudes. If I could give this place a 0, I would. Customer service skills go a long way - go get some.
Its been a while and lastnight was epic. Had a great time great food music and the crowd was nice. Will be going back.
I chose this restaurant to have a business lunch due to the seating capacity. We entered as a small group and sat ourselves as directed by the sign. There were QR code menus on the table for ordering purposes, wonderful. The site used did not offer a split check option, but we worked with it and placed our orders. As the orders were completed, a young man brought them to the table randomly. Everyone got their food except my colleague and I. So we waited patiently. 30 minutes later, still no food. 40 minutes later, still no food. And I could understand if they were busy, but they weren't.
Finally, I thought to ask about my order at the bar area. The server checked the system and says she'll take care of it right away. Ok, I thought, progress, only to be extremely disappointed that it was time to leave and we still didn't have our food (approx 20 min after alerting bartender).
Once we got up to leave, the young man brought my food out but not my colleague's. I asked to speak with manager. Manager took about 10 minutes to come out.
Long story short we asked to be compensated for the poor service which the manager stated there are no servers due to covid pandemic, yet they charge automatic gratuity to your check.
Upside- food had lots of flavor. Downside-Undesirable dine in experience.

Every time someone asks my opinion on a good place to eat, I refer them to Chef Rob's. I eat here frequently, and I have never experienced anything less than A-1 food and service. My favorite dish is the Rasta Pasta with shrimp and a side of garlic coco bread. I recommended the lounge to my best friend for her upcoming 25th birthday. I can't wait to share my favorite place with all of our friends and loved ones. We'll be there tonight (3/19/2015)!
My sisters and I went to Chef Robs for dinner to begin my birthday celebration. We had a wonderful time. The food was delicious our waitress very very sweet, and the DJ great! I danced the entire night!
This was the worse experience I've had and I've been coming here for years. Management sent a server over to handle the situation! Just unprofessional and not handled well at all!!!!! Still waiting on my refund smh.
I have visited the cafe in the past and the food was good for the price. However, I was very disappointed after attending the grand opening of the so-called "Upscale Lounge". The servers and female hostesses were extremely rude and unprofessional. Their attire was more like that of a strip club than a restaurant/lounge and unwelcoming, unfriendly attitudes. I was moved from table to table/sections with no explanation and no offer of assistance, a menu or any service. Actually, one of the servers told me if I need to order something to go to the other side (of restaurant). Wow! Really?Although I was on the invite list, I was told by one of the owners or managers or whoever was "in charge" that I could not sit in "her section" and I would have to move once "her guests" arrived. I immediately removed myself and left after only one hour because I could not spend another moment being treated like crap. Chef Rob himself is a very nice and professional person, but after this experience, I cannot say that I will patronize the business again in the future.

Upscale Dining? For real? Need reservations? You gotta be kidding me. Prices are ultra high compared to other Caribbean Places I've been to. Food or ambiance does not constitute the higher prices. PLUS if you have a Groupon, they add a 20% Gratuity without notification.... Not coming back or recommending this place.
I went there the first time and I ordered the large oxtail dinner. I picked it up at the bar and looked at it, it was so small, it was enough for one person. I had to order another one. The price was about 40.00. I begun to taste the first plate and the bartender told me I cannot eat or taste the food at the bar, the owner ( Chef Rob) will get angry. I thought to myself should I be mean and just ask for my $$ back, he can't tell me what to do if I just spend my money. I thought that was rude! So if you ever order a carry out and pick your food up at the bar, then I think you should be able to eat, taste and look at your food. The oxtail plates were ok, it sent me to the restroom after I ate it. I guess I can call and report them to the health department to make sure they are following guidelines. To Chef Rob, I think you should change your policy regarding eating at the bar when you order take out. That message should have never been related to me! .... And I wont be back as a returning customer, I will take my business elsewhere to Caribbean Fiesta.

The customer service had much to be desired. I visited for the first time last Thursday, an again this past Monday, both times Chef Rob, and I assume his manager, were both there. I didnt even know who he was, although he was sitting right over near the bar, and walking to and from the kitchen. There was No eye contact, no smile, or introduction to any of the guests from either one, nor a warm welcome from anyone, including the servers, which was very disappointing. This explains the servers lack of great customer service. I try and support all of my local black businesses, but unfortunately these are some of the reasons why it's such a challenge. The food was good, however, the 18% tip charge is automatically applied, which is definitely not warranted given their attitude. Because of that, they missed my 20% plus tip, which is always given when I enjoy a great restaurant experience. Unfortunately, I will not be referring them to my clients and friends, or returning back there.
I can't speak on how authentic the cuisine is but the oxtails were yummy and meaty! Friendly waitress that was knowledgeable about the menu. I did go mid-week/mid-day, so there wasn't a crowd. The cafe's atmosphere was really casual. Perhaps the lounge is more upscale...

My husband and I got Chef Rob's last night for dinner. We ordered to-go and did curbside pickup as we are still in the midst of COVID-19. The food was absolutely excellent. I got the turkey burger with fries (the fries AND the burger were incredible) and my husband got the mango chicken. Everything tasted very home-made and authentic. We will absolutely be going back to this restaurant. I also want to thank the young lady who was working very hard to ring up orders, bag food, answer the phone, and more seemingly all by herself. I did not catch her name but thank you!
I visited the Resturant with my friend, He told me about this Resturant many times. I live in Philadelphia. He knows the manager. I told him that must be why he continues to eat there because the service was HORRIBLE!! The waitress was extremely rude and inattentive. She act as if she was doing us a favor by serving us the food. NO CUSTOMER SERVICE skills. Needless to say when I return to ATL I will not be visiting CHEF ROBS again. They serve food now in to go boxes while dining in . Not cool. They only give you a fork and no other utensils . They charged me extra dollar to get coconut rice and gave me the wrong rice. It's only a big deal because I love their coconut rice. My meal was so so. Not like it is normally.

Great Caribbean food! I had mango chicken with coconut rice and plantains, loved it. I didn't have room for dessert, but got a slice of the keylime coconut cake to go. That too didn't disappoint. I went with a office group for lunch and the staff was very accommodating.
They do not serve regular size patties, they are really small...like bit size!I t is very expensive and the food size doesn't make up for the price. The food was ok, there was some flavor but I will not be returning to this restaurant
VERY DISAPPOINTED!
I had been looking forward to fried plantains all week, I ordered and they brought them... they were HORRIBLE. Clearly they were not ripe enough. When you fry plantains before they are ripe enough they don t work, period there is no saving them. They aren t sweet. They are chewy and they don t caramelize. This is a mark of someone who does not what they are doing and I will NOT being going back. That s lazy as hell.
Visited from Texas and this was definitely one of our favs and plan on returning when back in town. The food was so flavorful. I've never had food so good... Not to mention the wonderful customer service. Went on a Friday night and they had a DJ.. The atmosphere was perfect, vibe was right
