Went here yesterday with my family for my birthday and I will never go back. I am completely disappointed with the food and the lack of quality. The curry chicken flavor was lacking major! The oxtails barely had meat on them, the mac and cheese was flavorless and dry as heck! The greens were undercooked as if they'd just been picked from the garden. The only thing that was good was the jerk chicken egg rolls. My entire party all said this was the last time coming here. Bill was $150 so I expected a delicious meal that leaves you wanting more and satisfying. The kids chicken alfredo was so bland and the chicken was charred burnt not seasoned and just terrible! Told the waitress and she said and I quote "would you like a to go box?" Poor service and food all around! And fyi there is nothing upscale about this place at all!

I walked in Chef Rob's at 930pm. The server did not addressed me with "Hi, we close in 30mimutes". I said that my order was simply for take out. The same server said, "Let me check if the kitchen is closed'". They close at 10pm, why would the kitchen close 30minutes early?? She quickly came back and announced the kitchen could take my order Yeah me!! I walked to the bar, and asked the bartender for a "drink". She said, you guessed it..."The bar is closed". I said, "30 minutes before you actually close?". She said, "We are closed for ALCOHOL". I replied, "I just want a coke, I'm driving." She never asked me....WHAT I wanted...what level of service is this....ZERO. If they want to close the kitchen and bar...why not close at 930pm?
The food was ok, but the service certainly cast a shadow on top of what should have been a simple take out order. Bad Service is BAD...
This place is a joke. Went in yesterday and ordered a Combination plate of Oxtail and Curry goat for take out. Paid $24.87 for 1 spoonful of curry goat, 1 spoonful of oxtail, 1 spoonful of rice and peas and 1 spoonful of vegetables. The food was so small I could see the bottom of the dish. Taste very bland. As a New Yorker I d rather fly up to get some better tasting upscale food. Even Golden Krust food tastes better. Never again will I waste my money.
I WAS THERE with the NY.Giant fans and like always, with NYorkers, they know how to party.. the Food was excellent.. the Drink they called the L.T. could use a little make over, but my overall experience was 4 thumbs out of 5... And Yes I AM going back ..
So, my boyfriend and I happen to eat here so much they know our drinks, order and dogs that hang out in the car. Super friendly service and great tasting Caribbean food. The music in the background just adds to the experience. It's not the cheapest Caribbean food in town, but it is good. So good that I even had them cater my birthday.
Always a delight! I have taken all of my friends here and they do the same. Try it; as long as you like the type of cuisine they serve, I promise you will love it.
I ordered my food and it took WAY too long! By the time I got it, my food was cold. I was unhappy and asked to speak with the manager. After waiting for the manager for so long I just decided to leave. I ll never go back to that spot.
Called for a to go order and was told 20 minute wait time, only to wait 45 minutes for the food. No apologies, no concern at all. Charged $5 gratuity for a to go order on top of that. Rude service and apparently they allow their guests to have babies sitting at the tables while the rest of the customers smoke hookah. Pretty sure that's not good for the baby.
For food that was awesome, it's sad to give this place a 2 star rating, but our experience was really lacking. Our friends took us out for a fun night, which we had in spite of our service here. Our food arrived and only 2 of the 4 orders were correct. 1 order was the wrong thing and mine didn't come at all. After about 5 minutes, 3 of us had the right food, and apparently there was an issue with mine or they forgot to put it in and it took another 15-20 minutes to come out. The waitress was very apologetic and said "Can I get you anything while you're waiting?". I initially said no, but the others wanted to wait until I had food before they started eating so I asked if they could get a side of plantains out to me while I was waiting on my food. They got these out to me quickly. When our bill came, they charged for the plantains! We asked if those could be removed since I only ordered them because I didn't have my food and also took "can we get you anything while you're waiting" to mean the restaurant would cover it since it was their fault, but the response was "We have a strict, we make it, you buy it policy". This makes me question the clientele because apparently they have a lot of people trying to cheat them out of food if they can't even take responsibility for their own mistake and give us free plantains. The food was great once we actually got it, but I won't be back just because of this experience.
This is the most unprofessional black establishment i have EVER been to. Me and 2 friends have waited over an HOUR for food that we NEVER RECEIVED. The waitress do not pay attention to your table. The chefs are very rude when asking for your food and they don t even play music out loud as you wait for your food. We never even got our food, we just walked out. I will be contacting the manager and hopefully the owner to discuss this VERY UNPLEASANT experience.
The food at this place is amazing. The spices are delicious.. I had the seafood pasta with shrimp and crawfish with Coco bread. Waitstaff (Jada) was so pleasant and attentive with great knowledge about the menu. I am new to the area but will return with both friends and family.
The food is ok not really authentic to me the owner could do better with introducing himself around the place on the restaurant side had a good waitress though
This is my favorite Caribbean restaurant in the South! The food is delicious and the service is great. The ambiance is very authentic to what you would imagine in the Caribbeans and they have various events for customers including comedy, cooking classes & mixers!
Wonderful service and delicious island eats! It's a favorite spot for my Jamaican family, particularly for my daughter! Our servers always remember our faces, our favorites, and we are always made to feel special! Food is made to order, fresh and flavorful. (I only wish the playlist was that of Jamaican music rather than pop and top 40. )
My girls surprised me with a Birthday Girlz Nite Out! This restaurant was a great choice. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their food. See the pictures. I had a Jamaican Margarita which was sweet and smooth. I m a non alcoholic drinker so this drink was good for anyone who doesn t indulge. The servers were sweet and personable but the service was super slow. The main disappointment was that this restaurant was out of their signature dessert, White Chocolate Bread Pudding. Really? Will I return? Absolutely! Loved my b-day celebration. Thank you Girlz!!!!
Love this place the food is great awesome customer service. atmosphere is welcoming unfortunately I moved to Houston Texas all I can say is please expand and open a restaurant in the Houston area there is no other Caribbean restaurant like Chef Rob's here in this city.
For the price I expected more . I bought an oxtail dinner and it wasn't the best. Presentation was poor as the Oxtail had a lot of fat (50%). Overall the mediocre taste of the food is not worth what you spend .
This restaurant is has mastered its taste by creating a menu that tastes just as delicious when eating inside the restaurant and ordering to go! I ve had both the seafood pasta and jerk pasta. I recommend adding a side of garlic coco bread to the pasta dishes. The portions are a decent size when ordering at the restaurant or delivery and the two times I ve ordered delivery, my meal was prepared as expected and tasted great.
Last night I became a philanthropist by donating my money to this restaurant. Our meal was not good (being PC).. not at all. We were craving caribbean food last night and STILL craving for some after getting our food. We were truly disappointed and will not support this establishment again. (Wonder if we can use this donation as a tax write off for 2013).SMH..
The food was really good. 4 stars only because the food was a bit greasy and the price was quite a bit more than traditional Caribbean food. BUT the location lends itself to that, so get your money brotha!
Amazingly authentic Caribbean cuisine. I had the curry goat served with steamed cabbage with rice and peas. I cleaned my plate! They have nightly drink specials and an adjacent lounge for a cool night life experience equipped with a DJ. I cannot wait to go back and I would recommend Chef Rob's to anyone looking for delicious food in a fun atmosphere!!
Chef Rob, my man!! Treated me as family when I visited the restaurant on fight night. Hooka, Good Drinks and even better food was a delight and great add to my trip to the A. With my son attending "The House"... I will be in the A more often and of course checking for a grub every visit. Peace good brother and good luck with all you do!!
This place is nowhere near COVID-19 safe!! None of the worker s are wearing a mask all up in your face. The service went completely down, I been coming here for years and this was the worst service ever!!! VERY DISAPPOINTED
I won't be back. I wasn't impressed. The food was lackluster & dismal. I'm Caribbean, so I know what island food is SUPPOSED to taste like. So many people hyped up this restaurant to the point that I had to finally try it. It did not live up to the hype.
I like the food but I walked in and Chef Rob was sitting right by the door as I walked in, looked dead at me and didn't think it great PR to say Hello to your customers.
I had a family member to pick up a online order and alchohol was in her 13yr old daughter drink.

BEWARE! Restaurant served alcohol to my child through curbside pick up. OWNER/MANGER showed no HUMILITY, EMPATHY or CONCERN for the well being of my CHILD!!
I will preface my concern with this, I LOVE my children, more than mere words can ever convey.
Having shared this, on Sunday, November 8th, 2020, my daughter and I was invited with one of her friends and her parent to celebrate a birthday. On our way home, we decided pick-up dinner, To Go from a restaurant that had been highly recommended by the name Chef Rob's Caribbean Cafe Chef Rob's Upscale Lounge
I made food selections and finally the beverages; The most important portion of my story, the Beverages .
We ordered one Homemade Lemonade for $3.00 and one Jamaican Fruit Punch, $5.00. The reason the Fruit Punch cost more because of the ingredients; CR Specialty with fruit juices and hint of spice.
We collected our food and departed the premises.
After a while, she shared, This drink tastes funny. I simply thought, perhaps it needed stirring and advised her of such. After a few additional sips, she then said, It still tasted funny. My daughter eventually placed the drink in the holder.
During the interim, the parent friend call and said, I think the Fruit Punch has alcohol in it. . Now, gratefully, I am still recovering from battling COVID-19 and have yet to regain my sense of smell or taste.
The other parent had an instantaneous reaction immediately after the first taste knowingly something wasn't right with the beverage. The other parent and I went back to the restaurant and quickly learned the server indeed had given, as listed on the Main Menu, the Chef Rob s Rum Punch . The ingredients of this particular specialty drink are: Independent White Rum, Independent Barrelaged Rum and Chef Rob s Homemade Fruit Punch .
I requested to speak with the manager who worked diligently to avoid coming out to speak with us at all costs... Over twenty-plus minutes later, Owner/ Manager, Chef Rob eventually and reluctantly materialized. During the interim of our conversation, Chef Rob was extremely querulous tapping his foot in annoyance and was flagrantly dismissive regarding what transpired. He attempted to rush us away by offering to Comp our food (which an insult at best but most importantly, not the point of why we requested his presence. My daughter could have become extremely ill or worse.
Owner/ Manager, Chef Rob presented excuse after excuse, It s not my fault , The drinks were together and the server picked up the wrong one , I can get you some water and it will dilute the alcohol , We just opened and I am training servers Amongst other foolish and haphazardly lackluster retorts. I was so infuriated and offended, I walked away.
In an attempt to alert the local police, I was told they weren't responding to "Nonemergency Calls", I should call back or visit the area police department the following day.
We made it home and began unpacking the food. My daughter went upstairs. Later, she returned and alerted me that her head, stomach hurt and she was hot. In response, I sent her upstairs to lay down for a while. I later went to her room and discovered her uncharacteristically laying across her bed passed out. I woke her up, horrified by her mannerism; she was intoxicated.
In hindsight, this alleged Owner/Manager , Chef Rob should fervently have the utmost interest and concern regarding the customers that patronize his business. This day, he ultimately shared he did not care about the haphazard mistake his Trained employee made and, in the end, absolved himself of all liability.
I liked the atmosphere, however, I find it overpriced (they charge for water), and my friend woke up to an allergic reaction to their food. My hookah, the part where you insert your disposable mouthpiece, was broken.
I went to this establishment for a nice time music and staff were nice however I was charged for a bill I did NOT create atop of my own bill and after refunding the money of the extra bill... My bill went from 70.00 for a23.00bottle of wine (supposedly on special) and a glass of redbull and vodka....OK whatever I pay it and round it up to 75.00 for the wait staff....These people added 10.00 for gratuity on top of my tip! For a grand total of 85.00 for NOT A DAMN THING! I actually liked this place and maybe I'll go back but watch your bill these people are NOT HONEST!
I love to support minority business. This restaurant is small and connects to a lounge. The food was good , and so was the service. I took a date and the bill was came out $75 without tip.
I was not excited about my experience. I literally observed people come in and walk out because the service was so slow. My personal oxtails taste much better than what we experienced here and I'm not a chef. I dont make it a practice to order chicken when I eat out but wanted to play it safe. The chicken was very tender. There are 2 sides to the establishment - a bar side and a restaurant side. I like the set up with the sliding door to go from one side to the other. We ate on the restaurant side. There are plenty TVs on both sides with news and sports showing. I liked that the music was not too loud on the restaurant side. There was a very thick girl working whose skirt was so short you could see her undies. That can't be sanitary. Sexy and trashy are 2 different things. I wouldnt visit again but taste is in the eye of the beholder. Dont get me wrong - it was not bad. But not a place I would make a special trip to go visit again. Drinks were tasty and tropical. The staff seemed a little ditzy. The crowd was mixed on the restaurant side - adults and children, white and black. Service horribly slow. They have about 3 or 4 sitting spots outside. Gets congested by the front door on restaurant side because there are high top tables on each side of the entrance and people waiting to be seated standing over you while trying to eat. I used open table to make a reservation. I visited on Sat, June 11th about 7pm. Ohh - be sure to check your tab. They advise they add gratuity to check for parties of 6 or more. We had 2 in our party and it was already added. When brought to the servers attention she was like "oh". Made me wonder if it was intentional.
New to the area, the prices are really expensive for the quantity of food that you receive. The food was ok, had better authentic Jamaican food that was less expensive. The staff was really mediocre, straining to be friendly and interested in the clientele. The atmosphere was the best thing going on a Sunday afternoon and that's not saying a lot.
So a year ago I would've rated this place a 5. We used to cone almost every Sunday. Since that time we have tried it a couple of times. Not sure if management has changed but the loss of one of our favorites who seemed to have kept the place going is noticeable. The young crew they have working now are not as attentive, food comes out at different times. Not very clean, it clearly needs some tlc. Overall it could easily be a 5 but the consistency just isn't there any more. I hope they're able to remedy some if the issues.

Poor service and lack of professionalism. If I take it upon myself as a patron, to diplomatically try and tell you why I feel as if the food could use some work or why the service could have the potential to be better, and your answer is "well I'm not the cook so I'm not the one you need to talk to", or you just simply give me a look of confusion and disdain maybe because you're too proud as far as the complaint/suggestions that I'm giving you go. Suffice to say, it probably would have been the difference between this restaurant getting one star and maybe 3. thank you. Folks, please do not waste your time.

You know my reviews are always . When you come to Atlanta, this IS THEE place to come check out 1st on your list. Trust me you won't be disappointed and you can thank me later! Chef Rob is legit, babe let me tell you. I flew in from Seattle and my cousin, brought me here. I was pleasantly surprised. The food as well as Chef Rob is superb. Being that my family is West Indies ourselves, I KNOW great food and this is it people! I felt as if I was back in my grandmother's kitchen, we ordered brown stew fish, rice and peas, jerk egg rolls, wings, ackee & saltfish, mac & cheese, greens, parmesan cocoa bread, and last but not least a drink called turn me on. Everything was delightful, but what made the experience even more memorable and divine was Chef Rob, himself. Although it was closing time, he obliged us and came to the table, he was very personable and not arrogant in the least, and it was closing time but he didn't rush us and had a very nice convo. Have you ever experienced eating good food, and then maybe the servers, or even the Chef themself are rude, and arrogant and your opinion on their food and establishment diminishes? That's not the case here. Their are many "fakes" out and about but Chef Rob he's truly a professional, and he's made me proud as a Jamaican. His food, staff, atmosphere, cleanliness, and his professionalism is none like no other.. So now you know, go check him out, your loss if you don't! One luv ... your welcome
Terrible place with terrible service. I wish i could give a zero rating. They sat us down and took almost 30 minutes before they came for to get our drink and food orders. By that time, it was way past 4pm and they were charging us for dinner portions and prices yet they had given us lunch menus when they sat us down at 3.30pm. I would have let it slide if the difference between lunch and dinner prices was $2 but it was a whooping $10 for the same dish.... i will never go back again. Zero communication from the waiters and their lack of disorganization in the menu prices is passed on to the consumer!
Horrible customer service. This was my first time at this restaurant. Only went there because it was one of the only available restaurants on open table on Valentine s Day. We made the reservation for 845pm. We got there and were told reservations don t matter. They got us seated. Our orders were taken an hour later. We were waiting a good 2 hours before we even got the appetizers. The food came and there still were no drinks... even water we didn t get. Multiple customers came and left after waiting for hours without anyone even taking their orders. Mr. Restaurant manager, you can do better. If you cannot handle the crows, just let your customers know you re at capacity.
I ordered ackee and saltfish on the website it says served with banana and dumplings. I clearly stated no dumplings which they did not put any but to my surprise they had only 2 fingers of banana with the the ackee and saltfish the fish was very salty and for $15 it did not worth it I am very disappointed and I think that's high way robbery if someone doesn't eat dumplings you should at least put more banana or have some other kind of food to go with it, every other restaurant I've been to they will give more food if its just 2 kinds or substitute with something I am asking that you look into the situation and do better, that small portion of food doesn't worth $15
The jerk chicken and sides are outstanding! You can choose between two sides which is great for varying personalities. At times, the food can take a bit of patience to receive, but once you get it...you won't regret it.
