Chef Rob Review

So first let me say the staff was nice and the place was clean so that's why they got 1 stars but if I were to base it off food and price ZERO STARS... Don't waste your money! I ordered red snapper and 2 orders of beef patties and it came to $50! So I paid it thinking it was gonna be bomb and it was NOT! The fish was salty! The rice and peas had a strange taste and the beef patties was 4 tiny little pockets that equaled 1 bit for $10! An order! This place is waaaaayyy over priced for the quality of food. Go somewhere else ... Staff was nice tho .

Veggies were recycled with lots of salt, jerk chicken to much sugar. Female/cashier mean and nasty as hell. Sorry Chef Rob ..never again.

Absolutely one of my favorite places! Chef Rob interacts with the crowd! The atmosphere is so nice. Our server Tamicka was so sweet! And Dr. J came in with his son and people waved but was classy, no one rushed him for pictures! Celebrities are ALWAYS in there! The food was so good I left nothing on my plate! I recommend to everyone if you like Caribbean Cuisine!!

This place is my go to for Jamaican cuisine. I love the friendly and chill vibe whenever I go there. The owners are very friendly and the waiters really take care of you. I love going to this place and I recommend it for anyone who loves good quality dishes. They've gained a customer for life!

I was there celebrating my son Birthday...I always get the ox tails which are so tender, and I had the coconut shrimp. My food was good as always and the Customer Service was Great!

Too Americanized for my taste. My sisters & I felt it was overpriced & the food was underwhelming. Unfortunately, we will not be going back. We had the Oxtail, Jerk Chicken, Mango Chicken Breast & the Salmon

I don't believe many of these reviews are actually certifiable Reviews just from the simple fact that a lot of the negative reviews are actually true from what I've experienced; therefore I returned my Groupon voucher and decided to take my business elsewhere. DO NOT try calling this place to make reservations. They simply do not answer the phone period!

Food was good, it was worth it. The greens were ok, I am a southern girl and I love my collards- these were just ok. The oxtails gave me authentic JA taste. The small plate should in no way be an indication that you will not get full. I was fully stuffed.

Tasty pizza. Highly recommend the vegan bomb. Even who is carnivorous like me will love it.

The food was great, however the service and the wait time with awful. You should not have to wait two hours to receive an order.

The food is overpriced compared to the taste. It is not authentic. Curry chicken looks close to stew chicken. The ackee and salt fish sides which is dumpling and banana can only be substituted for a extra cost. Plantains is extra as well. I will not visit here again.

Some of the staff need training on good customer service. The food is tasty but it took forever to be served.

As great as the food is, don't go on Saturday night thinking you'll be eating any time soon after your arrival! I'm here now and it has been an hour already and we haven't even received our appetizers! This is absolutely ridiculous. The reason provided is that they've been slammed all night. Poor excuse as there is not line out the door, no one even waiting to come in, and I have only seen a few couples arrive since my party of 6.

As I was showing some folks the location who have never been, while I may return during the day in the future, they have already stated that they'll never come back.

The food was not impressive at all. My oxtails was salty and the jerk chicken was bland and dry. My friend who ordered the ackee and salt fish barely touched her food. The waitress Anna however was nice. I ve eaten better at a hole in the wall Jamaican spot for way less then what they charge here. Plus the automatic 18% gratuity to each bill is ridiculous. Never again!!!

Birthday party so much fun. The DJ is the best, food is so good.

Food was good but service was poor. My server in the restaurant was rude and the server in the lounge took 45 minutes to get my bill. But what takes the cake was how they added an extra $160+ to my bill. When I checked my account and saw this theivery they said someone at my table did not pay and it is their policy to add the balance to the last paying customer. Not only was the handling of the situation poor but the way I was treated when I expressed my grievance was less than desirable. I work too hard to be treated like that. Needles to say I will never go back or recommend that anyone go. While the food was good when eating it the stealing of my money and poor service left a bad taste in my mouth.

I had oxtail and my sis had the crab cake with callaloo. As a visitor from L.A., I was pleased to have tasted the wonderful flavors presented in the dishes. Lisa's service was on 'fleek."

Always a wonderful experience at this spot. Fine dining for a great date night with excellent service. I love the Blackened Mango Chicken dish!

I must say that I was highly disappointed in my meal. I ordered the stewed red snapper and it was not what I thought it would be. The fish was hard and stiff, the cabbage was too salty and there was not enough rice on the plate for the cost of what I paid. I cannot believe that these people are charging $20 for your typical $8-$10 take home plate that you can get at a cookout. I will not being going back to this restaurant for any other meals nor suggesting it to anyone I know. If you ask me, you are only paying for the so called atmosphere and the lounge next door, not quality food or quality customer service.

Not a fan. My rice was hard and cabbage lacked flavor. Curry goat was ok. Expected better tasting food.

I came and picked up a to go order and the attitude of the woman that I believe maybe the wife's owner and the other women that worked in the front were very rude and disrespectful. This is not somewhere I would ever visit again and if you want to keep people coming regardless of where they're from you need to treat them with respect. Without us you don't have a business and the Lord will not bless your business handling others that way either.

One of the better taste in Jamaican food and cuisine. Great place to eat.

There was about 5 small oxtails on my plate and sitting on the rice like it was a bunch, when I got home and for 30 plus dollars.that's unacceptable I will not be going back..ridiculous so disappointing. ..

It was our first time trying Caribbean food! It was different but very good. The service was good as well.

Great food and atmosphere we are regular guests for lunch. The service is great the staff is friendly and very knowledgeable on the menu. Please be mindful it is a business and the are busy times. So pack your patience when going when it's busy. Be sure to try their rum punch or the regular jamican fruit punch it's really good. Got a taste for Carribean food stop thinking about it and get yourself down to Chef Rob's right now!

This place is swaaaaanky, but with some great atmosphere and fun hipster vibes. After a bit of a mishap with a New Years Eve outing at their venue, Chef Rob's Caribbean Cafe & Upscale Lounge went out of their way to make it up to us, and boy they did not disappoint.

Love this spot. I always get the oxtails and curry chicken combo. I'm pretty sure everything else is delicious, you will not be disappointed.

Service is horrible. I sad for 35 mins without anyone coming to even offer me some water. The guy who seated me said " ur server will be here in a "MIN"

I have been to Chef Rob's about 5 times now and I have never been disappointed. My girls and I have always been welcomed with a huge hello. Their lounge is Upscale.They have large and spacious booths for 7+ people to enjoy food, drinks, and Hookah!!! There drinks have fun and creative names. I have never had a bad drink. The music is fantastic. They do live music on Friday nights for a portion of the evening and then switch over to a DJ. Then on Saturday they have a DJ and he does an excellent job of mixing it up with old school R&B with the current jams. If your looking for great food, music, hookah and a new hot spot to socialize look no further. You may be lucky and catch a celebrity or two having fun there.

Just had lunch.Food was very salty and the combination platter oxtails n jerk chicken was a mess. Watery gravy on both oxtails n jerk. Both were cooked american style. Did not enjoy at all. Very disappointed as were my friends, was happy to go because it said upscale authentic Carribean but disgusted. Will not go back not worth the asking price you have to pay to leave very empty. Couldn't eat it terrible.

Did not even receive my order! Waited 45 extraaaaa minutes after the app told me my food was ready!!!! Had a HORRIBLE experience with the lady at the front! Horrible attitude!!!! Was extremely late back to work with the lack of professionalism!!!! This was very unacceptable!!! I have neverrrrr been through anything this BAD before! When asked a ETA on my food I was told the Uber eats was backed up but could not still be provided a proper ETA on my order. I ordered my food at 12:38pm and at this current time it s 2:20pm and I have still not received ANYTHING!!!!!!

It was a surprise dinner date....no need to struggle over where to go, he knew just the right place. This was my first time visiting Chef Rob's. It was pretty packed inside however the weather was GREAT so we opted for a cozy little quiet table for two outside. Our waitress (Tiffanii) was awesome...she recommended a seafood dip w/ pita that had me lickin' my fingers! He ordered whole red snapper & I choose a seafood pasta. The snapper tastes really good (yes I ate some) but he should have ordered the filet version....wayyyy too many bones; but hey, he did order "whole snapper". The seafood pasta was also good - wayyyy too much pasta for me to finish. Too stuffed for dessert, we enjoyed the atmosphere, each others company & watching all of the laughter thru the front windows. As the night went on, we noticed more & more people entering the "other" door - evidently, there's a bar/grill with dancing on the other side of the restaurant. They obviously have great acoustics as we only heard the music as they opened to enter. It did not disturb our quiet dinner for two outside at all. Overall, really nice place! We will return!

Food was awesome. Had the half jerk chicken. Sauce was amazing. Rice and beans a little bland but still good. Mixed vegetables and garlic fries are good. They do have oxtails. $24 for the entree. If you are in Sandy Springs def worth a try.

Omg!!! I recently visited Chef Robs and must say I was blown away. First, you have the option of sitting on the restaurant side or lounge side. I chose the lounge side! Great choice! I was greeted by a friendly security officer that was dressed in a black suit! Great look! Okay, so it was my first time I did not know that on Thursday's they have a comedy show. The first comedian, Mario, was funny as hell!! Now, for the food....Wow!! It was AMAZING!!! I ordered the Jamaican Margarita....Delish!!!! I also ordered the Grilled Shrimp Skewers and Blackened Mango Chicken with coconut rice. It was absolutely divine!!! The food presentation was very upscale. You could tell there were "real" chefs preparing the food!! I felt like I was at an upscale restaurant!!! The food was hot, fresh, and absolutely delicious, tasty, awesome, great, etc., etc. I will definitely go back a million more times!!!! My friend ordered the Jerk Chicken and it was also very delicious, I tasted it!!! One last thing....the staff was extremely friendly and professional. They were constantly checking on us and making sure we were good!!!! Please, please, please go there. The food will not disappoint!!!

Nice restaurant/lounge!! We dined on one side for a friend's birthday! Food & drinks was very good, service was on point! Just next store was a lounge with a DJ & dancing! Hookahs & more drinks available! Great vibe! Will definitely visit again!

Served me an oxtail meal with hair on my plate then offered to make me a so called complimentary plate but still charged me for it. Smh. Extremely Rude & disrespectful management. They treat you like they re doing you a favor by allowing you to eat there. I advise you to check your plate first before you eat at this location.

I've dined there several times and hosted two fairly large dinner parties there as well. The food has always been excellent and the ambiance is warm and inviting. This second (and last dinner party) was like no other. The service was once again very pleasant and attentive. We were seated at our reservation time table ready and waiting. I had a total group of about 16 girls and our orders were taken for drinks and food in a timely and very warm manner. The food did take awhile to come out and one order was incorrect, but was presented rather quickly after the error was discovered.

Drink refills were prompt and frequent, water brought quickly after being offered by our waitress. The food was delayed a bit, but that was quickly forgotten once we starting eating. Our night was -almost- perfect. Save one MAJOR issue. The 'management' wanted one payment for the entire table. One payment as in one credit card or all cash. I guess I should preface by saying one of the first questions asked and answered by our hostess was "Though we cannot split checks by individual, would we be allowed to pay individually towards the total tab? As in different cards being charged different amounts to the total bill" Our waitress answered yes. This question was asked before everyone was even seated. So imagine our shock and irritation when 16 girls are told we need to pay one card or all cash and it's 12am?

After about 40 minutes of going back and forth with management, even after our waitress admitted that she told us that was ok they finally came to a 'resolution' albeit, it was not any better than the first suggestion. Our new option was to pay with a maximum of 4 credit cards and the remaining in cash. The tally still came out wrong and in the end after the 5-10 minute flash of porn on the large screen tv behind us and the payment debacle Chef Rob's Caribbean Cafe will NOT be seeing my business or the business of any of the other 15 girls there.

Word of mouth is good business only if the words coming out are of praise. Take note.

Gave it a another go...

Went with my best friend visiting from out of town and it was a millions times better! Service was attentive (for the most part), VERY friendly, suggested great options and pleasant. Food was perfect though our orders were mixed on each other's plates, it was quickly rectified. Drink specials, clean, vibrant atmosphere for a rainy Friday night. I still need to give them the test of the large group to have a true comparison, but from what I've seen thus far - I am not complaining.

The food was totally delicious. I have to let you know your son layed it out. Thank you cheif.

The food is pricey, but it's worth it. I had the oxtails w/ the rice and peas and cabbage and It was super good. I'll be back.

Great food..great atmosphere..I took my wife here for her 40th birthday..we laughed and danced to the great music all night..drinks are Awsome..we definitely had a great time and the waitresses are Awsome.

Love this place! I lived here in Atlanta 4 years ago and I think the food has gotten BETTER... Put Chef Rob's Caribbean on your must try list.

Had the Jerk Chicken and Shrimp Fettuccine. Outstanding.

The food is sloppy, & overpriced. The bbq ribs are $18 with their side of choice. If you decide to exchange different side its $1.25 extra. The portion was extremely small. The girl who took my ToGo order has a major attitude. Waiting to pay the bartender had to remind her i was there to pick an order up several times. She tossed the receipt to me to sign... walked in back grabbed the food tossed it in bar opened it nd walked away. The chease was cheap and falling off noodles. Greens were ok and rib were not fully cooked with minimum bbq sauce. I WILL NOT EAT HERE AGAIN

It's a bit pricey even for lunch. We spent close to $60 for 2 people to have 2 entrees dessert and iced tea..non alcoholic at that. Also, don't worry about trying to make reservations, they don't answer the phone so just come on anyway..the food is excellent!

W gobbled it up too fast to take pictures. It was so good and all 7 of is left full and satisfied. I had been on the hunt for good fresh cocoa bread for a while. Beef patties were great. Crab cakes were stuffed with crab and on point. Vegetables flavorful. I didn t eat any meat this visit. Oh the pina colada was exceptional! Normally I don t like sweet drinks but this was not sweet. It was sooooo good. Chef Rob added something to it that set it off.

The food was ok but the waitress Tiffany was awesome. The drinks were good and they wasn't stingy on the alcohol. I will be back.
