I have only been here once, however service was a 10/10 and the food oh my gosh! Every time I start thinking and telling people about Carbon Bar my mouth begins to water. The food there is absolutely amazing. Great job guys. Keep up the good service. God bless!!!
Elegant decor. Great service. They have an extensive bourbon list and make exceptional cocktails. They also might have the best burger in Toronto. Their Mac and cheese and fries are also really well done. It's a great spot for food and drink in the city on any night. The area it's in is kind of rough FYI.
Went for brunch. Was fun. Nice atmosphere; good menu. Chicken and waffles were top class. Pancakes *looked* like the bomb, but only ranked "good" - were a bit thick/heavy. Would go back, and would definitely try their smoked stuff at dinner.
This place is fantastic! Convenient rates, large dishes and the staff members are constantly nice.
Great BBQ food here! Ribs, chicken, and brisket is well done. I am more of a Texan BBQ flavour type of individual but these dry flavours are great that they offer here. Great looking restaurant and ambiance is fantastic! The only reason why I am not giving it 5 stars is because of the price. BBQ food shouldn't be this expensive!
Love this place. Cool vibe, good service, unique cocktails and excellent bbq and fried chicken! Also, the K.F.C. is a MUST have!
Had a really great time at the carbon bar. Great food too
Very good experience and very good food.
Especially the a la carta called the experience..
The venue is absolutely massive. Very nice vibes, and quite well suited for groups of all sizes. Food is in general fantastic, except I did find them to be very little on the salty side.
Excellent food and drinks. Thought the drink suggestions in the menu seemed limited but I gather you can order a wider variety at the bar.
Carbon Bar is a restaurant where I take my family frequently. With twenty something sons, it is a perfect family gathering place for us on special occasions or just when we have out of town guests. The Pit Master and the appetizers never cease to impress regardless of how many times we ve order them, unfortunately the service has been declining progressively since our first visit several years ago. Last night, we made the decision never to return.
Eight of us were celebrating my son s birthday and I brought his favourite homemade chocolate cake to have served up for dessert. It wasn t such a big deal that Anna, our waitress wasn t even aware of the cake and that I was charged a plate fee to serve it up; what I really have a problem with is the fact that the pieces served up did not amount the what was missing when Anna returned what was left of the cake. I have brought cakes to restaurants before, and even offered the serving staff slices of cake, however about a quarter of this cake (that I made for my son) was missing. I am thoroughly unimpressed! After paying a substantial amount of money for our drinks and meal, I felt like the staff was trying to deceive me did they not think that I would notice the missing cake? Did they think that it was okay to just help themselves? What a low class move for an 'upscale' place.
Amazing staff, service and food!! You will NOT be disappointed
Great place, food, cocktails (whiskey sours, gin and lemonade) Tony our bartender was great, definitely going back next time we are in T.O.
Great place to eat with a modern elegant decor that is inviting yet classy. The food is mouth wateringly good but a little pricey however, the service is excellent.
Amazing atmosphere and recognizable beer selections would highly recommend to any food buffs. If you don't know what to get try the Carbon Experience! Seriously delicious food and a wide variety of foods. Yes that's octopus and it's delicious!! Four stars due to the prices not a wallet friendly place but service and location was prime. If you plan on going make reservations!!
Best Old Fashioned I've had to date. They have their own house take on the classic drink and I tell ya' it's wobdetful. Service was friendly, prices for their cocktail/menu are a little high, but you certainly get what you pay for.
What a great experience . The food was awesome and the service was perfect. We had the Carbone Experience and it did not disappoint. Made for a great night out. I highly reccomend the Carbon you will not be disappointed.
A restaurant that manages to be beautiful without being too pretentiously posh. Drinks are delightful and (most of the) food is amazing. Didn't really enjoy the ribs (thought they were a bit too well-done) but the kentucky fried cauliflower, the burger, the brisket, the drinks, and the atmosphere will have me coming back again.
I had the chicken dinner was a bit dry. My guy had the brisket which was amazing. Fries were cold. Great atmosphere and staff.
A little pricey, little noisy but great food and atmosphere.
Love the large warehouse atmosphere. I heard it used to be a dance club back in my parents days. Great spot for a nice drink after work or for a tinder date.
Excellent place to buy food when in a rush. The customer service is quick, rates are convenient, good vibes. Keep up the good work
Had an excellent Brisket Mac and Cheese here. I could do without the financial district clientele, but there is no helping that.
Order take out often bbq is excellent. Mac n cheese is also damn good.
I go here all the time for some of the best BBQ in Toronto. Attentive service and knowledgeable staff. The clientele is always diverse and the music helps contribute to a super fun vibe. When you look around everyone is smiling, all the time. Cocktails have never failed to impress and the selection of whiskeys and bourbons is unmatched in Toronto. Pappy Van Winkle 10? 12?13 year? Yes. Yes. And yes.
The "Green Room" (private dining room) is on the second level and has a balcony that overlooks the entire venue. Complete with its own temperature control and TV with cable, it's perfect for business dinners and birthdays alike. I have not dined in the Green Room myself but it is something I am looking forward to for sure. Carbon is always an incredible time. I highly suggest making a reservation, it is usually pretty packed.
I had the BBQ share platter, it had brisket, ribs and fried chicken. The brisket was good, the ribs were OK and the fried chicken wasn't good at all. At $30 a person you're better off going to a real BBQ restaurant. Despite the food, the service is excellent.
Amazing food, great drinks, excellent service.
Do yourself a favour and try the cornbread and have one of the delicous cocktails or pick from the extensive bourbon and american whiskey selection.
Good space and service, a lot of the menu was deep fried or barbecued. The meat was good, the risotto a bit disappointing. Good experience overall, I recommend it
I went to Carbon Bar for Winterlicious. It was my second time there. The service was great, the food was tasty and desserts we're devine. Highly recommend this place.
The place is neat. The vibe was pretty cool. Mixed feeling about the food.
Love the idea of the meat platter, satisfies my protein crave.
+Loved the fried chicken, better than KFC's. My friend's said hers was very oily and didn't finish it. I got lucky maybe.
+ Turkey was very soft. I'm not a fan of white meat but this one was very good and soft.
+- brisket was not fatty at all which is great and better than most places I've been to, but it was also dry so didn't love it so much
- ribs weren't good. Meat felt old, stale and dry, like you have to bite hard to get it off the bone (my dad makes better ribs in our mediocre oven).
- coleslaw was straight up bad. With all these loads of protein I wanted to get a healthy salad instead of fries. They tasted really bad, didn't have my healthy portion of vitamins, you need vitamins for energy.
Sauces were decent. They were fine.
Price is okay.
The staff was amazing! Great great great service!
Good for a mid sized group who wants to share a bunch of stuff. The bbq was really good. Love the Mac and cheese side. The waiter raved about the cauliflower but it was okay - tasted like pakoras.
A bit on the pricey side of the curve. But you can get a platter for 2-3 and share with like 4-5 people.
Really enjoyed eating here.
I've been coming here for the last few years, and realized I never wrote a review!
I have recommended Carbon Bar every time the subject of restaurants comes up in conversation.
I order the Black Mamba Margarita (activated charcoal infused margarita) every time I go, and usually have at least 2 or 3. Absolutely delicious.
The BBQ platter for 2 is succulent, and a solid portion for 2 people. I devour the brisket right away, it is otherworldly. The fried chicken and ribs are also smoked very nicely. The espresso BBQ sauce is a very nice touch.
Along with the BBQ feast, I usually get the Fried Green Tomatoes (which I sandwich brisket into) and at least 2-3 orders of their Slaw... It may seem like regular coleslaw, but it is ridiculously good, and adding the carraway seeds into it gives it a next level flavor.
For dessert, the Banoffee is the usual go-to, its a rich and good end with a neat Blanton's or Woodford.
Met one of the chefs, Amanda, she's an absolute gem and I can tell the food is made with love.
100% recommended.
Fantastic drinks and wonderful service. The staff are very informed about what they are serving and im never disappointed when i go.This is a go to when im in the city.
Great atmosphere. Nice local place to meet up with friends for drinks and tapas. Menu is a little limited, but the portions are shareable.
Worst service I've ever had. We ordered drinks and waited half an hour, through the appetizer, while they never came. Then our meal arrived, which was wrong and had to be sent back while two side dishes left at the table got cold, and still no drinks. We asked for the manager who was chatting to the bartender the whole time and only moved to talk with us when we got up and walked out. Eat at this place if you enjoy feeling like the staff has some bizarre passive aggressive grudge against you.
Great looking place, awesome cocktail menu, found the food a bit pricey.
Awesome place
Great food
Server was amazing
Definitely coming back
Had the cheeseburger which was SO juicy
The St. Louis ribs were tender
Nothing but great things to say about this place
Great restaurant plus we got to try their mac and cheese for free it was delicious. Our server was great fun atomosphere would def go back
Amazing space and atmosphere. Food was mostly hits - ceviche didn't have enough acid. A friend said her side of beans were just ok. Service was great, drinks were good but overpriced. All in all I'll be back.
Food was good. We had some off the menu items that I would not recommend. Burnt ends for example - Just too burnt, tasted very carcinogenic, but hey maybe that's your thing. We split a platter of meat which tasted good but the value wasn't there. Incl a cocktail was 85/pp and while it was filling I found it pricey.
Korean fried cauliflower was especially good and if you do go, I'd recommend it.
Service also good but won't return as for the price point you can do much better.
Fantastic food and service. It was a great atmosphere and a great place for meat. It definitely is not cheap but you get what you pay for. Great place.
Went for a family birthday. We loved the look and vibe of the place. Sit down restaurant in the back, great bar area in front. Service was attentive and friendly. We loved everything we ate. We also enjoyed the cocktails. There is a must see Bourbon cart that is constantly being wheeled around the restaurant that is crazy impressive.
Shout out to Damien who was super accommodating and helpful!! 11/10 service!
The food was excellent and the service was amazing will absolutely be going again! I had the Pit Master Platter, and the brisket was the BEST I have ever tasted, would definitely recommend it.
Good BBQ flavour and setting. Although the brisket lacked smoke rings.
Probably the best restaurant I've tried in Toronto. Unbelievable perfection.
A lively, beautiful place with great staff, amazing food, beautiful drinks and a great bar, you can't go wrong here. Highly recommend.
Heard about the brisket cheeseburger so had to try it, was a great burger not mind blowing. Could have used another slice of brisket :) great staff and atmosphere. They make great drinks.
Tasty BBQ in an inspired space. Great transformation of an old warehouse into a classy and funky testo. We shared the meat platter of ribs brisket and fried chicken. While they were all very good, I have still had each individually better elsewhere. Try the Korean fried cauliflower app... delicious! There's a decently creative cockatail list too.
Never eat ribs it just looks good but they are not and over priced but maybe his other things are good but am rating the ribs they get you 4 pices that have no meat in them and they don't fall off the bone
Bar tender was really nice, tried something new at his recommendation.
Excellent BBQ here. Great selection of smoke infused cocktails. Attentive and friendly service. Half priced oysters on Tuesdays. For those that remember this is the old Much Music space where they filmed Electric Circus. Hence the cool 'Electric' neon sign inside. Large space beautifully decorated, a must try if you are a fan of BBQ.
We had a great meal at our first visit to Carbon Bar. Our waitress was friendly and knowledgeable. It was hard to choose what we wanted, so many of the meals sounded great. Our food was delish. We had the octopus paella and the brisket. We started with the Korean Fried Cauliflower and it is a MUST TRY. We are already planning to go back to try their tasting menu. The chocolate skull Boozey Bites were the perfect end to our meal.
Food is fantastic. Service is great. Beer is cold. Great place to eat.
Excellent bourbon bar with interesting bar bites, never realized that fried cauliflower would taste so good
Disappointed, was looking forward to brunch here but the eggs Benedict was cold. All 3 at our table were. So was the Mexican skillet. Pastries were very good and server was nice.
Small variaty of main courses. Only one beef offer. No filet. No relevant side orders (one has to pay seperately for fries, for example).
Amazing, fast service. Food was great but portions were too small.
Awesome classy upscale bar and tapas restaurant... Great spot for after work drinks!
Was mine and my wife's first time here so we got the Pit Master platter to sample a bit of everything. It was all so delicious. The meat is tender and the house made BBQ sauces pair so well. Our server was friendly and attentive. Will definitely be back!
Recently ordered the pit master platter for 2 and the Mac and cheese with the addition of pork ribs on top. The Mac and cheese surpassed my expectations- very creamy and a good, healthy portion of pork ribs on top. The pit master platter was very good- I only wish there was more sausage (only 3 small bite-sized pieces were included, I was sad because they were super yummy). Will definitely come back again
Great ambiance and good food. Beef brisket is great. A good hangout place for friends
Amazing food and amazing bar tenders.. the staff made my friends birthday celebrations even better. Honestly the food is worth the money. We ordered a seafood and a meat platter... so good
Great BBQ food with a very nice atmosphere, but it's not something super fantastic, and I guess it's a bit overrated.
Great place to share with friends! Look at the Bourbon Cart... Just amazing!
Bad neighbourhood. Expensive. Terrible BBQ cauliflower. Not great margaritas. Pretty on the inside though.
Such a great spot. Delicious food and drink. I like that they make their drinks strong and flavorful. From the meat platter, the brisket was definitely the star! It rivals, if not exceeds, the best brisket I've previously had (Burns BBQ in Texas). Would definitely come back to try more of the menu.
Picked up the fried chicken combo for lunch...delicious and a great price for the amount of food!
