Such a great experience at Carbon Bar. The staff were all so kind and courteous. Definitely have to give a big shout out to Caleb our server . He spent the time to go over the menu and made specific recommendations to several menu items that all turned out brilliant. Definition of exceptional customer service.

The KFC ( Cauliflower pretending to be Korean Fried Chicken) was to die for - miles over Plantas so called "best vegan dish" on Blog TO - Definitely a must try if you're in the area. Cocktails are all authentic and have exceptional notes hiting both the sweet and bitter parts of the tongue. The Black Mamba with Charcoal was a definite 10/10.

If you're in the area like Canada's hockey Hall of famer Wayne Gretzky...99 Queen Street East is a definite must. Great staff, great food, great experience . Definitely coming back to Carbon!

Finally a real restaurant in Toronto that is doing the right thing! Professional polished service. A touch of glamour in the decor. The best brisket ever! The decor, with a touch of glamour and booth seating!! I loved the meal, service and experience. You have to eat here!!

BBQ and southern style food, felt like fancy comfort food. The restaurant is casual with an upscale kind of feeling.

The staff are attentive and helpful, the service was great. The food was really amazing although on the pricey side.

There is a coat rack after you walk in which is nice.

This was an awesome stop for my buddy and I while visiting Canada from the States. We ended up stopping here for dinner. He got the seafood boil and raved about it. I got the brisket topped burger and it was marvelous. So tender and flavorful. Really awesome atmosphere as well!

It's definitely a unique place. The high ceilings and the lighting definitely make for a relaxed atmosphere. The food is great and they have an amazing cocktails selection! Highly recommended!

Loud, noisy and obnoxious. How do you make a beautifully designed room feel ugly? Fill it with boorish staff and management, serving heaping plates of disdain, to make you feel like an unwelcome nuisance. Everything you don't want in an expensive downtown dining experience. A rude awakening.

I was very impressed. The food was really good. We had a large group and they accommodated us no problem. Not many places carry my favourite beer so i was surprised to find they did. I was told the mixed drinks were a tad strong. So it depends on how you like them. I would definitely go back.

First time getting take out from The Carbon Bar - it really, really hit the spot. We weren't even high. It tasted THAT good. Ordered the platter for 1, mac n cheese, KFC cauliflower bites, (echoing many others, delicious!) And a brownie. Only took a pic of the brownie since we ate the rest.
Very friendly service at the pick up desk as well. A great restaurant in the neighbourhood, will eat there again. If you are reading this, you should have already placed your order by now. Go do it. GO. :P

The food here is incredible. We shared the pork tacos, fried cauliflower, ceviche, fried chicken, brisket, ribs and so many more appetizers that i can't recall. Everything was fantastic. The ceviche was made with sushi grade fish. The service was friendly and super attentive. The ambiance was relaxed and there was a good buzz i n the air. Highly recommended. I would move to Toronto for restaurants like this! YUM!

The food was decent and the beer selection was ok, but nothing stood out as amazing. Don't get me wrong, the bbq plater was great but none of this felt worthy of 5 stars. Atmosphere was good, but the food and drink lacked punch or originality.

A big disappointment. If you don't order the platter or burger expect to get bland food. Hubby took me here for my birthday. Ordered the chicken it was like eating Swiss chalet chicken. Drinks were all tart and sour, nothing sweet. It was a horrible evening. Left hungry.

Unassuming from the outside but upscale space on the inside. Delicious appetizers, meals and desserts! The appetizers have different twists. The BBQ dishes are classic - best brisket I've had in Canada! The staff is friendly and accommodating. They will suggest orders for the size of your group.
Save room for dessert!
Reservations recommended especially Fridays and Saturdays.

Carbon Bar is a lovely spot that is somewhat hidden even though it's just past Church and Queen St. It almost seems like it should be more on the Queen St W side of restaurants. The interior is gorgeous with it's high ceilings and tasteful decor. The service is great, from the hostess to the servers, everyone was very attentive and kind. I ordered the Beef Brisket and at first I was taken aback by the portion size (a bit smaller than I expected) but once I finished the dish I was content with what I ate. The espresso BBQ sauce is interesting but personally did not work for me. The pickle might've been better with several slices instead of chunks. We had dinner on a Sunday night and there a few other tables with patrons but the noise but minimal. I would be happy to go back on Tuesday where they have 1/2 price oysters!

Super tasty Southern style BBQ. Went for my anniversary this year with my partner, and we split the "Pit Master Platter". Everything was delicious. The dining area is spacious, the staff are attentive and friendly, and the food came promptly.

The smoke flavour is awesome, though I still think I prefer the meat at Barque Smokehouse overall. However, if you're located centrally or east, this is a fantastic choice of restaurant because of the convenient location.

When we first walked in we were impressed with the decore and atmosphere. We decided on the Carbon experience. The service was great and the presentation was wonderful. The downside was the taste. For a BBQ place it was the biggest let down. The salmon, brisket, rib, fried chicken and even the duck on the taco were either dry or too salty for our taste. On the bright side the dessert was the shining light.

I am SO happy I found this place. It's delicious and hits the spot. The Mac & cheese, ribs, chicken sandwich, pickles and everything we got in the meat platter was absolutely delicious and I can't wait to eat from here again . Keep it up and thanks for feeding us.

Best brisket I have ever had. Best ribs in Toronto, only better I have had was in Kansas City.

My dad put it best "this brisket is as good as any filet mignon I have ever had"

Prices are VERY reasonable for the quality you get, that said, it's 'expensive for BBQ', but, the place is gorgeous and staff are amazing and totally worth the extra $5-$10 a head compared to "a normal BBQ joint"

The entire team were absolutely awesome, from Matthew to Deb, and everyone else in between. We were a family party of 18. They helped with the menu selections, and gave us our own private dining area.
It was just fantastic - not to mention the food!! especially the cauliflower bites/
Delicious!!!! and we are all so curious as to what was in the caramel and banana dessert, because we are all still dreaming about it.
Thank you all,

I got take out from here on Tuesday and it was very underwhelming. The ribs were really good. I would definitely go back for the ribs and to try the brisket and sausages. But the fried chicken and mac and cheese was terrible. With the fried chicken the actual meat wasn't seasoned, only the breading. The breading was overkill and way too thick. I was really excited about trying the mac and cheese but it was gross. I actually have two portions left in my fridge that I'm going to throw out because I can't bring myself to finish it. There was no sauce, very little cheese. It was like a cheese like concoction of pasta with breading on top. Extremely bland as well. I don't know if the quality was reduced because I got take out and it was close to closing but I would stick to the bbq if you go here.

Disappointed. Expensive platter which is $30 per person, not worth it. Server should of mentioned it, although it was written in the menu but it was easily missed as we were asking more questions prior to ordering, and the way she explained it would be plenty of food for 2 people. Actually it's a rip off. We would of just stuck with our orginal menu options if we realized what we were really paying for. Thought we were getting more bang for our buck this way but turns out we just got banged real hard. We had a nice time initially but by the end we left pretty upset and disappointed.

I always enjoy going to Carbon Bar. Excellent service, drinks and food. I especially love the burnt ends! It's a must try in the east end. I also enjoy the vibe of the place.

I'll happily go back soon.

Had the prix fixe menu, enjoyed the seafood better than the bbq. Meats were good, if unexceptional... for the price I would say there are better choices out there.

The atmosphere however is great, we sat on the upper level and really enjoyed our time there. I would visit again, but wouldn t get the prix fixe next time.

I was there for a Birthday party where we had to pay for "the experience" which is a bunch of appetizers, the main dish *the meat* and dessert.... we got there at 7:30 and food was only served at 9pm... the appetizers and dessert were better than the main dish, which in all fairness should have been the best part of the meal. That being said, way to overpriced $74 for an okay meal.. not to mention the drinks too forever, up to 15 mins to get a beer to the table. All and all, there are many other places where you can have a better "experience" -

My father wanted bbq for his 62nd birthday, I had spent approx. $160 on food, coleslaw was great, loved the pulled pork, the fries the sausages, however the brisket, beans and ribs were extremely salty. The family ended up kind of just picking at their plates and we ended up having so many leftovers.

This was surprising as the restaurant clearly has great reviews. It makes me wonder if I'm missing something or if they're actually suppose to be that salty. We are by no means sensitive to salt but it felt like it was just caked in salt.

Awesome service and best rib ever had in Toronto till now . Its tender and juicy and not like some ribs with ash on top which we get . Wide array of drinks . You will also get sea food . Great place for satifying your carnivor desires . Will dine again.

Fantastic evening for my wife s birthday tonight. The staff was very friendly and accommodating to guests with dietary restrictions despite having a large party on the set menu. Everyone loved the atmosphere and was blown away by the food. The snacks and appetizers were inventive and delicious, the octopus was cooked extraordinarily well,

We tried this restaurant for the first time. The decor and seating space is great, and service is efficient. The service crew is very helpful.

Regarding food, our experience was average. The burgers were above average, but the fish was just okay. The 'Winner Winner Chicken Dinner' was a total loser. We had better fried chicken at KFC! I guess the servers have to try really hard to make up for the average food.

I don't see myself visiting the place again.

Had dinner with a friend a couple weeks ago, sat at the bar. Benji served and poured for us and was a phenomenal host! The manager forgot their name, but they had an awesome pair of suspenders on was also super kind and welcoming. Had such a fun time with the staff! Food was also amazing the duck tacos, cornbread, and Mac and cheese were all standouts!! Will be back soon!

We went for brunch in a large group and absolutely loved the place and food. the food was very good. but if you go in a a group, they have a 4 item menu you can choose from. all of them were tasty. we also ordered extra pancake for our little one and it was prepared as soon as he woke up! so thoughtful!
