Carbon Bar is a restaurant where I take my family frequently. With twenty something sons, it is a perfect family gathering place for us on special occasions or just when we have out of town guests. The Pit Master and the appetizers never cease to impress regardless of how many times we ve order them, unfortunately the service has been declining progressively since our first visit several years ago. Last night, we made the decision never to return.
Eight of us were celebrating my son s birthday and I brought his favourite homemade chocolate cake to have served up for dessert. It wasn t such a big deal that Anna, our waitress wasn t even aware of the cake and that I was charged a plate fee to serve it up; what I really have a problem with is the fact that the pieces served up did not amount the what was missing when Anna returned what was left of the cake. I have brought cakes to restaurants before, and even offered the serving staff slices of cake, however about a quarter of this cake (that I made for my son) was missing. I am thoroughly unimpressed! After paying a substantial amount of money for our drinks and meal, I felt like the staff was trying to deceive me did they not think that I would notice the missing cake? Did they think that it was okay to just help themselves? What a low class move for an 'upscale' place.
