Winterlicious set menu & price, it's a bit pricey, not bad for BBQ meats but the portion & the dipping sauce is a little small for the set price , the coleslaw is tastless, nice cheesecake & service.

Amazing brunch and one of the best beef briskets I ve ever had! All the dishes were so flavorful, the service was excellent and it was a very good atmosphere with lots of natural lighting. I ll definitely be back!

Absolutely amazing brunch food.

Absolutely amazing brunch food.
The Huevos was likely the best I've had in the city. Definitely try the kimchi potato, they are very unique.
Also had the French Toast Old Fashioned which which was great too.
Service was good, but not fantastic although we were treated to a couple chocolates after our meal

Oysters well prepared. But wouldn't open my favorite bottle of Prosecco if only took a glass and said have to buy bottle. I said no to Prosecco. Later they said I can have it. But the point is to have Prosecco before food arrives. This was never the case in the past. They made a mistake on bill on half price night. $35 more. But corrected it. Good meat selection but can't tell pre- cooked so price way too high. Oyster price deals on half price is not the best since regular price is $3.5 each. Place is clean and comfortable.

Food is fantastic. Make sure you go on a cheat day. Lots of meat and amazing sides. Go with friends and do the Pit Master Platter to enjoy a bit of everything. Love this place. Cocktails are awesome too.

AMAZING FOOD.

AMAZING FOOD.
great customer service.

The atmosphere is great - open bbq pit which is awesome! However the room layout is poorly designed. The tables are rammed in as close as they can be which makes it very awkward for getting in and out of tables.
I am a tiny person and it was even difficult for me to get through to my seat without literally shoving my a** into the tables face beside me.

PLEASE CONSIDER MAKING MORE DINING SPACE FOR YOUR CUSTOMERS!!!!!

Great food and service was great. Only problem.. I told them it was a birthday dinner in advance and whoever called me said she would leave that in the notes but nothing was done? We were just given our bill and left. Normally I would ve made a fuss about it especially when I made the reservation a week ago and confirmed the birthday two days prior but I didn t want to spoil my SO s birthday with a situation like that.

Other than that, the food was incredible and service was excellent. Just wish they actually followed through when I decided to bring my SO to this restaurant for her birthday.

5 stars for service and food... don t want to hinder they re rating because someone dropped the ball.

Last night my husband and I went to Carbon bar to celebrate my husband s birthday. I have some dietary restrictions which includes an allergy to onions which makes eating out difficult. I had emailed the restaurant ahead of time to ask if it would be a challenge and they said that they would be able to work something out for us. My husband and I decided to get the carbon bar experience which is a 4 to 5 course tasting menu. The staff at Carbon bar was so amazing that they went in to discuss with the chef on which items I could and couldn t have and ended up putting together a custom tasting experience for my husband and I. I want to say a huge thank you to Carbon bar for making this night unforgettable! Service was amazing right down to coat check when we walked in as we were both sporting our winter parkas. The food was delicious and so are the cocktails! I would highly recommend this restaurant to anybody. It makes a great date night, a great night out with friends, or just a place to grab a bite to eat.

Made reservations for 4 people at 830pm on a Friday, by 930 we were still waiting for a table. The food may be mediocre at best but the service is down right disappointing. Will not return and would not suggest this place to friends, family, or strangers.

Popped in for a lunch takeout. I m impressed. The brisket burnt ends were very tender and moist with a nice smoky flavour.
Staff were very friendly and helpful. I ll have to go back for a proper fress. My vote for top downtown bbq.

Beautiful atmosphere, and tasty food. Menu is a bit confusing and isn't coherent it seems like they're trying to capture a lot of food trends.

Update (January 2017): returned for another meal with friends. Menu had been pared down. Not somewhere I feel the need to go to more than once a year but still, a very solid restaurant. Food was consistent quality.

Excellent place, very cozy.
We ordered the dish that brings everything to try. If I was satisfied but next time I will ask for only the ribs. Something expensive $ 25 but it was worth it !!

I admire this place! They provide good meals, their menu is large, The chief cook in that spot is a specialist, I love very much trying all their dishes. The dishes are always tasty, the attitude towards the guests is friendly. I go often to this restaurant and I was never disappointed. I recommend it to all my friends.

So first thing first, the happy hour or social time as they call it is great. We enjoyed nice and generous glasses of a decent merlot. The food menu is quite pricy and primarly focusing on meat so we sticked to the vegetarian snacks which were quite good and originals. We also got a complementary appetizer. The whole experience was affected by the service, one order got mixed up, we had at least 6 different people waiting on us within one hour and were interupted every 5 min to check "how are we doing here". Annoying and not our definition of good service.

Great place for food, service and atmosphere. My wife took me here on my birthday. We got the meat platter for $68 (2 people). The food is excellent! The service is fast and friendly. The place is cool with a little bit left behind from the old EC days. It'll set you back about $120 if you get a couple of drinks and an app. I've been there twice now and both times was great. I highly recommend.

Got a bunch of the brisket sandwiches with fries for some friends and I. The fries were really good with a nice dusting of salt. The portion of fries was on point too.

Overall the reviews were good from all of us.

A few common themes that popped up were that the lettuce was a little sad and it might be better without it. The brisket sandwich is light - very light, and a hungry man will still be hungry afterwards. The thickness of the brisket is similar to a couple if thick cut slices if bologna but tastes much better obviously. With only 2 tiny slices it doesn't have a good bun to meat ratio and the bun coverage is embarrassing. The bun tasted like a lame duck bun also. Looked like a McDonald's hamburger bun that wasn't well disguised with its grill marks.

The mustard on the sandwich overwhelmed the sandwich and the BBQ sauce that I was looking for was missing in action.

If you are going and buy this item mentally prepare yourself for something that more resembles a slider.

The meat was really well cooked but only brought its little brother to the party. I'm still hungry .

Absolutely stunning interior (old bank building) huge ceilings, great lighting. Service/staff are attentive, drinks are good, nice place for drinks with a date. I'm not crazy for the food but the fried chicken is quite good.

One of the best experiences I have had in Toronto. Bourbon flowing and every kind of BBQ you can imagine. The venue itself is beautiful with high ceilings and natural light. Try this with a date or with the boys for a bourbon/bbq night out. Be sure to try their bbq cauliflower.

Don't waste your money here. I had the $65 chef's tasting menu. I ended up eating a handful of salad, a couple fried crispy items, 1 rib (that's right..1 rib), 1 slice of brisket, 1 piece of fried chicken, 1 piece of fried chicken skin (disgusting), 1 mouthful of banana pie, and 1 mouthful of an ice cream sandwich.

To top it off, it all tasted really mediocre. I will NEVER GO BACK HERE. What a ripoff.

They like to plate everything on big plates so when it comes to your table, it looks like a substantial amount of food. Of course, when you actually divide it up among everyone, you each get a tiny morsel. Ridiculous.

The ambience was great, the servers were on point. Most of the food was bland maybe it was that night. The fry chicken wasn t the best. The the smoked turkey and the barbecue ribs were good 4/5 . The portions per serving were more then enough and the presentation of the dishes were very pleasing.

The Carbon Bar has my vote. OMG our dinner was truly amazing. Everything from Chicken, Ribs, Pulled Pork, Sauces and much more. Outstanding menu and so delicious. Hat's off to the cooks, the staff. No other place like this and if so not close to the tastes of the meats. We used the online ordering and take out delivery and very pleased.

Great ambience; friendly staff, very accommodating, exceptional customer service; the waiter went above and beyond to please us. Its Location is also perfect specially for a Sunday brunch, as traffic on queen is really low and u can park outside right in front of it, the menu is prefixed with a few traditional brunch favorites made in their own style and beautifully presented on a plate; it's a bit pricy at a $28 per person ; with that you get a selection of fresh pastry, followed by main course and then coffee with some liquor flavored chocolate sweets... I had a great time with my friends , for a sunday brunch with style it's definitely a place worth to check out!

Interesting place: I was expecting a more casual atmosphere, given I was going for Southern BBQ, so when I walked in I thought "meh, this isn't going to be good". It was, though: food was great, and so were the wait staff. The Bourbon cart is fantastic, very good selection.

The service was great. The food however was a different story, I booked for a group of 10 and we ended up as 11. Apparently we weren't allowed to order from the regular menu (for groups over 8) and we had to have the 'experience menu' which is chefs choice. None of the food, that was chosen for us, was food we would have ordered on our own and at 59 a plate for 3 courses (which included tapas style apps, and a shareable main) it would have been wasteful to order what we would have liked from the regular menu. Nobody was satisfied with the chefs choices and the main course was a big miss with my group- only half consumed.

Great ambience, drinks, service and food. I would've given it a 5 star but then, I have been to Adamson's BBQ and between this place and Adamson's, the latter wins (food only. This place is a full service restaurant and the service is top notch here). Carbon Bar is not bad either for the convenience of being in DT and great service!

HOLY HELL.... Just had their fried chicken sandwich and I wish I never took a bite. This was by far the worst sandwich I ve ever eaten in my life. Words cannot describe this experience. The meat was like shredded canned tuna with no sauce.

I had a great experience today at The Carbon Bar. The service was amazing, the drinks and food arrived very fast and they gave us plenty of time at the end of our meal to relax and enjoy the environment. We had the brisket and pork ribs and you could eat both with a spoon the meat was that tender. Will definitely be returning with friends!!

3.5 stars .. solid service & nice atmosphere. The flavours were just lacking... is it weird to give the best nod to the vegetable in a BBQ? Also, Anthony S is right about the neighbourhood... do NOT keep walking east along Queen St at night. Sketchy might be an understatement

My thoughts and consideration about BBQ come from a very passionate group of restaurateurs and pit masters I befriended a few years ago in Dallas. It could be a regional thing but to them, good 'Cue' stand on its own and doesn't need any of the soppin' sauces those northern Tenn folks do to hide their meats. That sentence comes with heavy twang and a heavier dose of passion.

So I came to Carbon bar to sate my rib craving and I left a bit puzzled. For starters, the restaurant made great use of the former Electric Circus space... it has an amazing tall ceiling that just gives a flare to the room. The seating is quite comfortable and thank god their AC works (heat wave that day). Two little drawbacks about their room. One is their table arrangement. It's comfortable and normally I wouldn't say anything but today was really apparent on how close the next table is to you. I smelled the neighbouring table BO and it was not ... pleasant. It was incredibly distracting and wanted me to vacate the restaurant ASAP. The second thing was that we were constantly reminded we had another table coming right after us so we only had 2 hours for the table. To be honest, the neighbouring table wanted me to leave after 30 minutes but the 3 reminders (phone, hostess, and then another wait staff) was a bit much. I do get it that this is a business and tables turned = a successful night. So go get that dollars Carbon... maybe not just beat me over the head with it.

So the really great waitress here helped us and suggested we get a snack of Korean Fried Cauliflower to compliment the Pit Master Platter for 2. She thought it would be more than enough food. She was right on both accounts. The KFC was great and totally see why it is their number 1 snack that has been there since day 1 and that the Pit Master is definitely enough for 2 people.

Korean Fried Cauliflower (KFC) - Oh yes, this is the must do when you're here. Light crispy battered cauliflower that is just hot from the fryer and they perfectly coated (not too much... not too little) with a Korean influenced sauce... it felt like it was a combination of sweet, heat, and a touch of fermented sourness. Im guessing a modified gochujang sauce. Loved this one 5/5.

Pit Master Platter for 2 - It looks damn impressive but it just fell a bit flat on some things... mostly from flavour and serving temperature. It comes with a lot nice things - brisket, ribs, deep fried chicken thigh (deboned), fries, pickles, with 3 sauces. To summarize the flavour issue, I felt they were scared to season the meat to stand alone and rely more on the sauces that sit beside the meat.

The best thing I felt were the ribs .. it wasn't dry, had a good tender chew (its actually not a good thing when it drops off the bone too easily), and had some flavour but it was moderately warm. 3.5/5

Brisket was very tender but it lacked flavour... we had to use the sauces for sure. It also felt like it was served just slightly above room temperature. 3/5

Chicken was very moist and nicely fried up. Great crisp edges on the crust and not oily. It just missed seasoning in the crust... no salt or pepper to season it up. This one was served hot so it was good to eat. 3.5/5

Fries were served unsalted (or super lightly salted) and cold. This was a disappointment and though you could use the sriracha mayo to bring up the flavour, eating cold fries wasn't so good. 2/5

Overall, it could be a great bbq place if they upped their seasoning and rubs and served their food hot. I think the service is good here and not a bad place to enjoy good food. It could be a clear 4 star if they just tweaked those. I'm heading to Stack and Barque to see how the rest of Toronto compares to my Dallas memories.

Winterlicious not so delicious! Cold Cod and skimpy on meat platter...appetizers were not memorable. Service was good and drinks were delicious, however I will not be running back for the food!!

Great place for cocktails.

Great place for cocktails.
And they make some mean ribs that are more than up to the task of competing with all the east side restos that pride themselves on their mastery of the smoker

When looking for somewhere for a beer and a snack after a meeting, found this place. Friendly, good beer selection and excellent service. I'll definitely add this to my 'places to visit' list when I'm next in Toronto.

Came here for an early dinner, had octopus paella which was tasty but the portion was quite small for the price. The portion was only about half a plate full with three octopus tentacles which was a bit disappointing. The service was good though. Nice decor but it was a bit cold at the restaurant.

Just ordered from you guys for my first time on UberEats...where have you been all my life! I have a new favourite BBQ place in Toronto. Reasonable prices, extremely generous portions, and everything was delicious. The Chophouse Bowl especially was life changing
