I really like this service and parts department. W...

I really like this service and parts department. When I was in the market, for a GTI they didn't have a car that met my needs, but I continually checked their inventory. I found one in Va Beach and brought it to them last week to have some summer tires mounted on my favorite wheels. I also had them dismount my all seasons and put them on my stock wheels. They also swapped my sway bar and end links with aftermarket versions I brought in with me. My service adviser Aaron listened closely to the work I was requesting, and accurately relayed it to the tech.The work was done probably a few minutes under the time frame he quoted me. I also appreciated the work room area off the side of the waiting area. They had the typical snacks, water, and TV, but that little room with office chairs, and a desk allowed me to work remote. It had just enough privacy to make calls for work, but I was still within earshot of the TV.
Whenever I have a question about parts or mods, I call and talk to JD in parts. He's awesome - very knowledge, but if I am able to stump him, he'll research and call me back. The only thing they could do to improve this shop (in my eyes) would be if they were authorized APR dealers...then I wouldn't have to go all the way to Chester for a software tune.

Best car buying experience ever! Got a fabulous deal on a 2020 Passat - the price shown on the web was the price I paid - no hidden additions. Everyone at the dealer was a first-class act. Seandra my salesperson was very knowledgeable of her product. Mike is sales helped out and was a pleasure to work with as was Brandon in finance. Truly the easiest purchase of a car ever. Well done team!!!

Went to get a broken key replaced
Parts associate couldn t figure out how to enter an order and simply just kept trying the same thing over and over again wasting my time
Was told 2 weeks for key to arrive. Called after 3 weeks...it was clear from the reaction the order was probably not placed.
Called after 9 weeks. Was told the key was there there. Asked if anyone should have let me know. The associate literally laughed at me and said yeah probably.
Arrived to have key programmed. Googled this beforehand and learned it should take 30 mins
This cost inflating outfit took 90 mins.
Avoid this place. No one cares about you they just want your money and to waste your time.

The team at this dealership led by Mr Patterson are great! I purchased a slightly used vehicle from this location from out of state. The promise I received is that there would be no dents, dings or scratches. Basically, it would be in new condition. They actually kept their word! When I arrived, I did discover one flaw on the driver's seat during our inspection. They immediately swapped out the seat with another one from the showroom floor.
The customer service was outstanding! They picked me up from the airport, were ready to go with the paperwork upon arrival and no surprises when it came to cost and payment. Special shout out to Bradley Shepard who guided me thru the ownership process. Best car buying experience I have ever had.

Brought my dodge pickup in for a quick service. To my astonishment they service more than just vw s. Susan was my service advisor and she was an absolute pleasure to work with. She took the time to go over everything with me and left me feeling like she really cared. Susan is definitely an asset to the company and now I will no longer take my truck to the dodge dealership but back to her at Browns.

I thought my customer service representative, Ashley, did a wonderful job. She clearly communicated what was going on and made a less than ideal experience a stellar one. The mechanics also did a great job. They finished servicing my car a whole day before they said it would be done at the earliest. I couldn't ask for a better experience.

I love, love, love Brown's VW. I came to Virginia on route to South Carolina as we are building a house there. My light bulb on the car needed to be fixed. I called a was told to bring it in. I brought it in an Susan greeted me took all of the info and Jeff took it from there. Jeff noticed my Delaware plates and used to live in DE as well. He also gave us the name of Sushi place near by. Friendly place.
The following week I had to register my car and the DMV says you have get the car inspected. Oh boy, where Im from the inspection is behind the DMV building and you can purchase from 1 to 5 years inspection, not every year. The lady says you can go anywhere for inspection, so I go to Brown's with no appointment. This time
Jeff takes the car gets it inspected and put the plate on and the sticker. He even asked me if I wanted the plate on the front, because he would have to make a hole in the bumper. No thanks I said he knew that SC doesn't use a plate in front
Who needs extra holes on the car. Very kind and considerate. Ok then I get a recall for my 2015 Passat emissions. I make an appointment and this time I get Kyle. A very nice guy, he took the car in came back to let us know the deal which is a good practice. When you take your care to be worked on sometimes it might need something else done to it they let you know right away. The car was ready in no time. This was really a long review, we can always complain in length, so I wanted to give all the Kudos I could. Keep up the great work you all ROCK. I'll miss you when I get to SC..

Took my vehicle in for service a few days ago, and have nothing but good things to say about my experience. I got my car in and was promised at least hour and a half wait . I received my car back in no more than 30mins. Conner made sure my vehicle was in good hands and I will be bringing my vehicle back to him from now on

Awful dealership. They checked out my dad's car and totally ripped him off. They said in the check list that his gas cap worked perfect, it's been broken for two years! And that's just one thing they lied on. Very disappointing.

I would first like to point out how wonderful the staff is at this dealership! My husband and myself were looking for a new vehicle for our family and we had the utmost exceptional sales associate on the planet. Jonathan Alley was extremely superb and absolutely the greatest spectacular sales representive I have encountered. Upon arriving at the dealership he had the vehicle parked and ready to examine for us and we were thrilled. He wasted no time in describing the specific features, mileage, and making a point for the carfax. Not only was he extremely on point he also had a very eager attitude and no problems answering questions. He was very patient and very accomodating to us. Test driving my new vehicle was AMAZING!
I would also like to point out our financing manager Kriss Williams. He was very informative and had a very understanding way of making sure to break down every aspect of our contract and what would be' expected. We absolutely enjoyed these specific two individuals. This was my very first time buying a vehicle from a dealership and I could not be more pleased and satisfied. I am so inlove with my new SUV and cannot wait to refer those who I know to these wonderful, patient and kind people.
(We had to bring our 5 year old and she is a handful and they treated her with so much kindness and tollerance THANK YOU!)

I also opted for the ECP package and I highly reccomend it! Again, major shout out to Jonathan Alley and Kriss Williams. you guys are the bees news.

First class experience. Exceptional customer service. Extreme attention to detail. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. If you need a car this is the place to go. Aaron Montgomery greeted me with a warm welcome and helped me through the process of buying a vehicle and made the whole experience not only stress free but enjoyable as well. Rabih was extremely helpful and even stayed late to help ensure everything was professionally handled and completed. Brandon was fast, friendly and extremely knowledgeable and made all of the paper work a breeze. Troy and Ted kept in constant contact with me via phone and email and made sure all of my needs were taken care of. Awesome business and a real sense of community at Browns Volkswagen Midlothian Turnpike.

Susan couldn t sell her own name.
Wanted to spend thousands on maintenance and repairs, but my service writer never relayed any messages on what was needed for my vehicle to be maintained. It wasn t intill I left with the paperwork that I saw what the technician recommended. I don t understand why she would be to lazy to relay any of that information to me. Considering it s my vehicle and I could pick and choose what type of things needed to be done.

With that said I talked with one of the technicians BURT who was just an as*hat who believes me knows it all. He took days with my car because he s insanely slow then blamed me because I wasn t ok with how incaple he is to actually finishing my car

I ll be taking my car to west broad Volkswagen for now on. They ve relayed all concerns for my vehicle and have worked tirelessly to get my car back to me in a meaningful manner. The technician Tim did wonders for me, and I ll be having him fix my car for now on!

Bought a Passat TDI SE from Brown's on Midlothian - they had the exact car I was looking for. First day out drove 262 miles and averaged 44.2 mpg. Great Buying Experience - all questions answered - staff was helpful and courteous and they followed up the next day to make sure everything was going ok. Trade in value was exactly what I expected based on research. No reason to go anywhere else. Ask for Kevin!

Susan has always been my go to lady whenever I bring my car in because she s just simply amazing but today I had the pleasure of meeting Gerry and he was awesome as well. Purchased a used car from the dealership on Black Friday, received a pretty good deal. Staff was nice and friendly - my only issue is that we only received 1 key to the vehicle- apparently only one existed. I was not made aware of this until the sale was complete -which is quite unfortunate. I was told I would have to get another one made. Now it is more than likely going to cost me another $250 + for another key. Any savings I may have received are now almost gone. Not sure I will be coming back to them in the future for another vehicle.

I will never buy a vehicle from this place again the car started messing up the first year that I had it I was told I would have to pay almost 600..00 dollars for them to fix it that it wasn't covered by my 3 year bumper to bumper warranty it messed up again today had the car almost 3 years they say the warranty is out tried trading it in but because they sold me the 3 times more then it's worth that didn't happen so I got screwed from jump ....beware

Mr. Patterson (President of Brown's), took his time to listen intently to me and assist me for an issue that had occurred. I can truly say Mr. Patterson really cares about his customer's and wants to hear their feedback which could not have made me happier. I will return for any future work needed on my GTI. To have a calm and pleasant conversation with Mr. Patterson was more than I expected and I truly enjoyed speaking with him. I ordered some parts on Monday and was told they will be available on Wednesday, and I will receive a call when they were in. Wednesday has come and gone, no word and no update even though I told them I planned to leave the state on Wednesday evening. Luckily I didn't leave as planned and when I called today (Thursday) I was told that the parts weren't in yet and would be in tomorrow (Friday), which has thrown all my plans into a spin as I have a lot of running around to do which will make it difficult for me to collect the parts.

As they have reneged on their original commitment I request that the parts be delivered to my residence when they come in tomorrow and I am promised a call back as the person on the phone cannot give that undertaking, he has to speak to his manager who is out to lunch at the moment. Five hours later the manager must still be at lunch as I have not received a call back and am pretty sure I won't.

One of the best dealerships I ve been to. John Stephens was great and patient from start to finish I m quite indecisive so patience is a plus for me. He gave me a lot of knowledge on the vehicles I were looking at. Two things I like the most he never forced me to buy he let me choose myself and he had wonderful energy. Also the sales manager Troy was a great help with assisting John on extra things I was asking for. Overall I ll give this dealership 100% rating I ll recommend anyone who s looking for a car to go check them out.

I was driving from over 4 hours away to look at a used car and when I get an hour away, it's magically no longer available but I could look at a new one because they have several great deals available. I was in the market for a practical, sporty, second car to use as an everyday driver instead of my big crew cab truck. After searching for three weeks I thought I had found my car at a different dealership. However, after sending out over 11 emails to separate dealerships, Brown's Richmond Volkswagen not only replied, but made me an exceptional offer. After some negotiating to work out the finer details, Brown's was able to match exactly what I was looking for, at the price I was looking for. I imagine I was not an easy customer to work with from all of my stipulations, but Ted and Ray were pleasant to work with and took the time to understand me as a client. I greatly appreciated the laid back, no pressure atmosphere, and never once was I made to feel like I was being rushed in to the sale or what I was asking for was impossible to provide. I went in on a Saturday not thinking I was going to walk out with a new used car. John was able to help us out by letting me test drive and show us everything the car had to offer. He made us feel so comfortable with the driving process and continuing with the buying process. He explained everything and was able to answer all of our questions with great detail. The financial office was very open about everything I was buying along with explaining in great detail about the warranties and options we had. I ended up buying a 2017 Passat and love it.

I'm pretty unhappy that I haven't heard back from the manager after being told 3 days ago I would get a call from him. I got rushed into my purchase and the diamond coating was put on the car while I was considering my purchase and told the salesman who was eaglery pushing through the paperwork what happens if I decide not to get the vehicle and have to think about it - as he was going to get the car detail coating put on he said oh well the next person gets it for free then. I feel I was pressured to get this and feel it should be removed from my total.

They over charge for minority s . Took my car to get a diagnostic done in October and was told my car was fixed then came and got it same problem occurred soon as I got home same day, then took it back to get problem fixed was suggestioned I get a decarb on my valves done end up paying $1000 dollars. 3 months later i drove my car into the shop for an oil change and got a phone call asking how do i get my vehicle to start?! So now I m back getting another diagnostic and took them 2 days to tell me the problem. Asked for a loner vehicle was able to only get it one for 24 hours but told them i needed it longer. When I went to get the estimate I was told the problem was fixed I said I didn t have funds the service associate suggested that i get the parts removed so I just can pay for the oil change, asked how long it would take to remove parts told me 30 minutes parts were only $250 so where did I rack up $300 in labor if the oil change is $80 but my total came out to be $677?

Update: paid the $677 and one day later my car had the same problem that I had when I took it to get checked

After test driving a car, I was excited to be sitting in the store waiting to get my new (to me) car. Then, in the space of five minutes, I saw three employees walk through the store without a mask of any kind, and a fourth working at his desk wearing a mask without his nose covered. I left because I felt so unsafe. I'm giving two stars (instead of one) because of the understanding and salesmanship of Jonathan Alley. He listened to my concerns, tried to make amends, offered to do everything remotely and re-sanitize and deliver the car to my house. I am so disappointed.
