I don't usually write reviews. The Turramurra cyclery is a bit far for me but I've been back on and off over the last two years. Their level of service has been consistently high and the workmanship on the service is quite good! Keep it up!

This is quite simply the best bike shop in the Northern Suburbs and CBD, and I have pretty much tried them all some stage. Great sales advice without the "yeah I've got one of these" up-sell, very technical knowledge about all components, and the maintenance is simply top notch and excellent at identifying any current or potential issues with the whole bike. Just a cool bunch who look after the customer and their bikes, special mention to the wonderful Monika, who couldn't be nicer to deal with.

I've been in Australia for quite a while now, visited many bike shops, and Turramurra Cyclery is the one that, by far, offered my a 5 star experience. Would like to say a massive thanks to Brad for puting so much passion and expertise towards improving my position on my bike. Beyond the technical knowledge and love for cycling, Brad's honesty and professionalism when giving advice were impressive. If you're thinking of buying great products and receive outstanding service, this bike shop is the place to go. Highly recommend.

I bought two Trek Roscoe, 24 kids bikes.
I dealt with Monica, who is one of the nicest sales people and most genuine and honest service people you will deal with.

Her advice was spot on, it s Xmas day and I have two ultra happy 6 year old boys.

Good business would 100% recommend.

Thanks

I won't be going back.

I won't be going back.

My original bike was a steel frame road bike, made up with campagnolo parts that my father had lying around. The frame cracked so I purchased a Daccordi frame second hand and took it to Turramurra Cyclery to strip the components from the old frame and rebuild on the new frame doesn't seem like it would be a difficult job. Not cheap at the quoted price of $300, but I wanted to get the bike back on the road quickly and I assumed the bike would come out properly serviced.

To cut a long story short it took 5 weeks to get the bike back and I'd say it was a complete waste of money. I dropped the bike off on a Monday and was advised it would be done on the Wednesday. No news so you ring to see if it's finished and get 'haven't had a chance' no more news so ring again and they advise it wasn't a straight forward job because the bottom bracket had an Italian thread Other excuses included that my bike wasn't a priority because they 'high end' jobs to do, and they were busy making up bikes Christmas. Basically I had to chase them for 5 weeks. In the end we sent them some parts to use.

When I picked up the bike the price was $433 and they advised they had done the best job they could given the age of the bits. For example they said the rear hub was worn out an needs replacing. I was expecting for the price they would service the hubs given that the Campagnolo hubs can be taken apart and refurbished. At least called to discuss options - rather than just say 'it's stuffed'.

So in summary horrendous service, poor quality, premium prices. Never again for me and I suggest unless your job is very simple then look somewhere else.

Small shop but super nice staff and competent technicians. Plenty of gear and conveniently located across the road from the station. I got better service here than at just about any other cycle shop in Sydney.

I recently bought 2 trek bicycles from this store. I have been cycling for almost a decade and across 2 states. In all this time I have never had better service from a bike store. A fantastic business with extremely professional and friendly staff. More bike stores like this please! Bradley in particular was exceptional.

I m a 62 year old lady who was due to go on a bike tour to NZ this month so visited our local cycle shop as opposed to going on line . Staff were extremely helpful and fitted me out with all the gear. It was certainly more expensive than the gear my fellow bikers bought on line but I was happy with that as I felt I had good quality gear.
Of course our trip was cancelled due to COVID -19 so today I turned up to return all my gear - unused with tags on and receipt
After consultation with the owner ( who never appeared ) the staff were very embarrassed to tell me I would only get 80% returned due to restocking costs - they only had to hang the gear back up in the shop !
Life is pretty rough at the moment and there was no point in upsetting the poor staff so I just accepted the situation
Very greedy , unkind owner - avoid this store at all costs - I will tell all my friends and family and friends what happened
On line for me next time with their generous return policies !

Extortion. I took my Trek Powerfly for a warranty repair because the battery keeps falling out and the rear hub was just free spinning. I was told everything will be covered under warranty on multiple occasions and that parts were ordered. After a month of calling weekly for an update finally the parts were on their way. When the parts arrived I was told that the hub replacement will be $361 and not covered under warranty. I then asked them not to worry about the hub and just fix the battery latch but they said they will not fix anything unless I buy the hub and also wanted to charge me for storage for the bike because I couldn t pickup the bike on the day they called me even though I have been waiting for a month. Total extortion and should not be allowed to operate. I accepted to buy the wheel (under duress) but now I am going to fair trading.

Amazing service. Went in for one thing to be fix and they fixed a range of other things that I was not even aware of and didn t charge for the extras. That is what I consider keeping your customers happy to turn them into raving fans.

Quite simply the worst experience I have ever had ...

Quite simply the worst experience I have ever had at a bike shop.

The service department are incompetent and deeply untrustworthy - for reasons you will see below.

I had a simple warranty issue with my new Trek bike - and so I took it back to Turramurra Cyclery to fix up. After about a week I was advised that the bike was ready and the problem had been fixed.

Nope.

Not even close. After a bit of riding, the same issue was still there. It hadn't even been touched.

So I took it back yet again, and after a couple of weeks I was advised by Turramurra Cyclery that it would cost me $200 to fix the issue as it was not a warranty issue.

At this point I decided to call Trek and deal with them directly as the service from Turramurra had been so poor. Trek said that the store had not even spoken to them about it being a warranty issue! Trek also said that it was a known issue with the SRAM part and that it should be replaced free of charge, under the new bike warranty.

After waiting another week, my bike was finally ready for pick up. In total, my bike had been off the road for more than a month, for something that should have been a very simple fix.

When I went to pick up my bike today, I discovered that one of the bike mechanics had smeared black grease all over my bright red Bonty saddle. I thought to myself, are you guys actually serious? I find it hard to believe that this was accidental - and if it was, surely you would clean it before giving it back to the customer? It seems pretty clear to me that the grease on the saddle was retribution for being willing to stand up to the incompetence of the repair / service department.

Well, I'm never shopping with you again - you've lost a customer.

I would advise everyone else to avoid this shop at all costs.

There are much better bike shops elsewhere in Sydney.

Very friendly and knowledgeable team. Went in to look at a Domane and, instead of selling me the wrong bike, gave me advice that maybe an Emonda would suit my needs better. Regretfully didn't end up buying from them but did purchase an Emonda-equivalent, not Domane. Would recommend.

Fantastic customer service from Dan! Listened to my requirements. He spent a little bit of time with me to explain the pros and cons of each machine.

Friendly shop atmosphere, they even dropped the fully assembled bike off to my house! I will be back :) Thanks again

Get my bike for service.

Get my bike for service.

Brought almost every spare parts with me

Since we brings our components, we just short of chain. I have the chain and able to bring in within 3 hours so they can finish the job. However, they wants us to buy their chain and wants us to sell the chain 2.5 times more expensive than any other competitors. They simply said buy the chain and I finish the job in 5 minutes or bring your chain and I shall finish it in 6 days. What a nice threatened.

if you decided to come here, Please expect any incident like I do and get charge more.

This is my first service with them. I do not experience this service with my regular bike service in Inner West

Friendly staff, mostly. Sometimes a bit know-it-all. Opening hours not great for a bike commuter and they don't book services on weekends, which is a pain. A bit expensive, but they do service work, fittings etc. You can buy for less online, but don't expect them to help you out if you do... I've met Mark on a few occasions and he seemed friendly. Not quite sure what happened for Jonathan - tell us more!

I took one of our two 25+ year old Giant mountain bikes in for a service and a fix up. Came out like Brand new! Dan offered to swap the new seat if it wasn't right - which they did with no problems at all. The crew are some of the friendliest folks around and more than happy to share tips and tricks about getting back into cycling. It's clear everyone who works here has a passion for cycling and are happy to share their expertise with anyone who walks through the door, rookie or pro. Really got my partner and I back into cycling again! Thanks Turramurra Cyclery!

I ask Bike shop to install a power meter on my bik...

I ask Bike shop to install a power meter on my bike. Bike given back with Stages Power meter installed. Cost $800.
Went for a ride. 2 days later. My Garmin 1030 is saying that the average power is 5 watts for 30 km medium hard ride. while riding at 30 km/hr on the flat. I say to myself that has to be at least 100 watts power - something wrong with power meter.
Take bike back to shop explaining power meter not communicating with garmin. Shop has bike for 2 days. No message to say bike ready so call bike shop. Bike shop says bike fixed. Arrive and then get hit with $30 bill for time spent rectifying the "problem" with the power meter I paid $800 for a few days earlier.
I say to bike shop "bike shop should have ensured power meter works with recording device, eg garmin before charging $800 for power meter, Bike shop say bike shop take lot of time to fix "problem". I complain in vain. I feel bad. I pay the extra money...... Bike shop say sorry need to discuss with manager blah blah blah. I feel like I have been robbed. I hold my wallet close to my chest before leaving the shop in case any more money gets stolen from it. I say to myself "be careful of thieves". I also say to myself "DO NOT GO BACK HERE".......
Tip for bike shop. When charging $800 and taking your big commission for a XXXXXX thingame please take the responsibility of ensuring it actually works FULLY before giving the bike back to the client.

I am not one to normally write a review

I am not one to normally write a review

But in this case I decided I must!

I have bought athletic gear from various bricks and mortar shops and online stores for over 2 decades.

I ride mountain bikes and I am an age-group triathlete.

The service; knowledge; & expertise at Turramurra Cyclery is beyond reproach!

I have had my bikes serviced at various shops in the past and with Turramurra Cyclery, I have never needed to return my bike to be adjusted, (due to poor or lazy mechanic work).

I just bought a Trek Speed Concept from Turramurra Cyclery for my triathlon racing and the service was impeccable!

No question was left unanswered.

Bike fit was an added bonus and perfect!

There is no attitude with the staff (which I have endured before at many bike shops!)

If you decide to buy a new bike or for that matter, have a bike needing a service Do you yourself a favour and speak to Brad or Sam (or the team) at Turramurra Cyclery.

I went to Turramurra cyclery for a bike service, I needed two new disk brakes, two new brake pads, a tightened dropper post, a new chain and rims needed to be trued. I was quoted $480 and after I payed not much was fixed. Dropper was still broken, only front brakes were fixed, chain still had rust built on it and only gears were replaced. I later asked for a list of all the costs anywhere from new parts to labour costs, all I got was an invoice for the full amount.

DO NOT GO HERE! BIG WASTE OF MONEY!

A big shout out to the great team at Turramurra Cyclery. I broke a spoke at Galston Gorge today, limped into the shop, and even though it was my first time there they went the extra mile and were kind enough to fix it on the spot(like I was a regular customer) so I could ride home and avoid a taxi (the rim was getting more out of shape and rubbing on the frame). Experienced guys, very helpful and polite, thanks again, Ian

As others have described their communication is extremely poor even by bike shop standards.

Bike wasn't ready when they said it would be without letting me know.

Replaced pedals without calling me and letting me know, so I either had to spend another week without my bike or wear it.

Couldn't get their story straight regarding why the pedals had to be replaced.

First the said they couldn't get the lock nut off. I had to ask to see the part, and when it came out it had the lock nut off but it was missing and apparently was Shimano specific. Sometimes you can replace the spindle apparently but they didn't ask me whether this was something I would like, they just bunged a new set of pedals on and charged me full sticker and the first I knew about it was when I showed up to collect it.

Despite a service on the front fork, my front disc rubs. I don't expect to get my bike back with rubbing brakes, especially given their penchant for doing services without asking. That's something I'd be happy to see an extra $20 on the bill for when I show up, or if it costs more than that pick up the bloody phone.

That said the work they did seems good.

Best bicycle shop north of the Sydney Harbour Bridge, very experienced team who know how to fix just about anything on pushy. Service work and gear and reasonably priced and they do offer great specials from time to time. Personally i've found they will spend the time to work out any issues with your ride until you are happy. If i could rate them 6 stars i would.

Came here looking to buy my first road bike and I couldn't have asked for more. Brad was a champ. The man is a veteran in the business and it shows in the way he interacts with his customers. It felt more like a chit chat with a friend than a buyer-seller interaction. Turramurra is, without a doubt, my go to bike shop. You won't be disappointed!
