Took my vehicle here for recall service to fix an ...

Took my vehicle here for recall service to fix an issue that I had already spent plenty money on fixing there. The recall was not available yet and I understand that they have no control over this at Browns but once the recall was available and performed ( months later.) on the vehicle, I was now told the vehicle doesn't drive at all and needs another engine that I could purchase through and have them install it at close to 7grand. This is completely insane being that I literally drove the car there when I dropped it off. Not sure about the sales team as I had not purchased the vehicle there but the service department WILL RIP YOU OFF! BUYER BEWARE! MY 1ST COUPLE VISITS AFTER BEING TOLD THE RECALL WORK WAS DONE THEY COULDN'T EVEN PRODUCE MY KEY. My cars interior was also subject to the weather as they left my windows open for god knows how long. Literally had to come back with my spare key to close the windows. Bug nesting and rust is inside my non running car now. These guys have absolutely no respect for your property. Not to mention my lock- out kit which was in the trunk is now missing the air jack. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!

We appreciated your desire and willingness to work with us, even though we weren't the ideal customer, working on a budget. Other dealers said it would be impossible to get us into small SUV at our desired payment (one even laughed before offering to help us find a mid sized sedan), but you found one and made it work. Also, my wife appreciated being talked to, rather than being treated as a non-existent person, as many women are accustomed to in the automobile world.

I cannot say enough about this dealership! I have never rated a dealership with 5 stars, but Brown's truly deserves it. I have purchased a vehicle roughly every 2-3 years for the last 15 years and this was the very best experience I have ever had. The staff was superb. From the first phone call with Brittany who assured me it was worth my time and effort to come in, to my very attentive sales professional Marcus, to signing the deal with the very accommodating finance manager Liz. Shout out to all the staff who are obviously a tight knit, committed team and who go out of their way to help people. These folks got me into the car I really wanted and loved after several other dealerships refused me. The manager, Brian was most helpful and able to get an undoable deal DONE! I am so appreciative. Brown's will keep my business for sure!

I was very pleased with my first car service experience. I have a 3 month old and I was asked if I needed help, the service gentleman, Jeff Cooper, opened the door for me. It is very important to me as a small business owner to have good customer service and Brown's Volkswagon has done just that. There were snacks and water available to waiting customers which was very nice and the bathrooms were very clean. Thank you

The lease on our 2013 Passat was about to expire and we decided we liked it enough to purchase. We feared we would be met with high pressure from the dealership to purchased a brand new car. Instead, our sales associate, Ted Sisk, processed the paperwork in a manner that took us totally off guard. To our surprise there wasn't any high pressure sales. Just the opposite. We felt as though we were visiting a friend instead of being in a sales transaction. We then met with Liz who completed the financial end. She went to great length to ensure that we got the best interest rate which we greatly appreciated. The General Manager, Mark Shebelski, personally stopped by and congratulated us on our decision. We just bought a Tiguan SER from Brown s with the help of John Stephens and Rahbi Saba, and it was a great experience! We originally came to the dealership to look at the Tiguan S, but ended up falling in love with an SE R-Line. John never pressured us to go with the more expensive model, but worked with us to figure out which one would be the most practical choice. Once we made our decision, Rahbi worked out the details to get us an affordable monthly payment for the car we really wanted. We were very happy with how streamlined and efficient the whole process was, and we are beyond excited with our purchase. This is the second time we ve purchased a vehicle from Brown s, and we will definitely remain loyal customers for future cars!

Recommended by a friend who also bought their first car here, I also bought my first (almost) new car here thanks in HUGE help to Sergio and Brandon! I couldn't be happier. I took my 2014 VW Jetta TDI on 9/21/15 because my heater quit working they called back and said your the water pump is not working. So they changed that and my timing belt and changed me $1,707.74 So they way overcharged me for Labor which was $1,024.00. We asked to see the water pump "that the impeller was breaking apart" and they couldn't find it!!! So I called and talked to other dealerships and asked them how much it costs to change the water pump and since they were changing that the timing belt along with it.. They all told me $800 - $900. But still my heater is not working at all!!! I also think the reason why they overcharged me is because it was supposed to be covered under extended warranty... and come to find out the extended warranty turned it down and didn't pay. So I had to pay the $1,707.74 out of my pocket. Even called and tried to talk to service depart supervisor and left multiple voicemail's and STILL Waiting on them to call back to discuss this matter!!

I've asked several times "Who are the owners, do you have a corporate office? No one will provide the information. This Dealership has very little integrity they are very dishonest. I've had a very poor experience. The President has fixed the car but then uses that excuse the lack of integrity and dishonest practices. The staff is extremely nice and professional. I would not recommend anyone purchase a vehicle here.

Gotta give Browns service center the highest marks because:
* they were flexible when I (got lost &) showed up 35 minutes late,
* they gave me service fee discounts that exceeded the on line coupons,
* kept me informed all through the service,
* explained to my satisfaction every repair task,
* did the work in a relatively short amount of time.

I went and got my car serviced last week and Connor helped me out, he was awesome, helpful, and very genuine. Definitely recommend going to see him, you won t be disappointed!

I really commend and recommend highly, Mr. David Nelson, Sales Consultant, At Brown s Volkswagen, and it s been a pleasant experience too.
David Nelson is a very Respectful, Intelligent, Professional Sales Consultant, and I really appreciate him and all that he has done to bring this to fruition.
From the start of the first car buying inquiry recently, by a phone call checking on inventory that I made to Brown s VW, and the follow up e-mail by him, I have felt welcomed, and yet do feel welcomed.
I showed up on the Brown s VW Dealership Lot, and the first thing that Mr. David Nelson did was project a highly Professional Personality, Character, Business Oriented Customer Service, with the Highest Respect and Dignity at Brown s Volkswagen.
For such a time as this we need to feel great about buying a vehicle and from start to finish, Mr. David Nelson, did everything in a Professional, Business manner. It was a rainy day, umbrella weather however Mr. David Nelson, never missed a beat, with umbrella in hand, and the vehicle buying experience was as if it was on a bright sunshiny day!

Hands down worst and most stressful car buying exp...

Hands down worst and most stressful car buying experience I've ever had. First impression, none of the employees wear masks unless you specifically ask them to. Second, they were supposed to send a purchase order to our bank (after trying to call both the salesman Derrek as well as the financing department several times with no response) and they messed up the financing period we requested, and then left off the down payment. I'm sure they'd much rather we finance the vehicle through them, but they can't compete with the interest rate and at this point due to their incompetence and complete lack of attention to detail, I don't ever want to have anything to do with them ever again. Edited to include having to wait over 2 hours to sign paperwork. I will never darken their doors again.

I was interested in a red Mazda CX-9. Brown s had a 2019 at an excellent price. We contacted Brown s and John Stephens set everything up. We made the trip from Norfolk VA to check it out as we never located one in our area. It looked perfect and drove great but for some reason I wasn t that happy with the black leather interior. As we were leaving my husband asked John about a VW SUV that looked really good. He said it was an Atlas we went inside to look around and then spotted the VW Tiguan. We test drove it and fell in love. The Tiguan had not been on our radar but we were so glad to discover it. We purchased a 2020 with lots of safety features. It s a beautiful blue color. They delivered it to our home in Norfolk the next working day. John was a pleasure to work with. Thank you

So the sales associates get pulled away from customers for meetings with no warnings? And I m sorry the general manager can t let one sales associate miss a meeting while there is a customer in the room?? So I sat for 30 minutes with no warning she d been pulled into a meeting and I find that s very unprofessional especially when I m ready to settle on a car by the end of the week. Then I get a voicemail from the associate saying she can t say no to her gerneral manager or she won t have a job.. I am the customer?? I am trying to pay for you to basically have a job especially when you work off of commission and I get a voicemail with excuses. You obviously really don t need my business if even the general manager can t understand that their employee has a customer ready to buy. Like seriously you re basically telling me I m in the wrong for not giving me any warning and I sit in a room for 30 minutes and have to wander off to find my sales associate. Then telling me she came in on her day off to meet with me? Ok you could have told me to come in another day you decided to do that and then you leave me for a sales meeting and I am looking around for you then you basically rush me out so you can get back to that same meeting. No thanks I will try somewhere else

I came into Brown's Volkswagen to look a Volkwagen Jetta S with my wife and John Stephens opened the door for me and led me straight into his office. From the moment he popped the hood and went over the specs of the car in detail, I knew I was dealing with a professional. By the time we were done, we decided on a Volkswagen Jetta R-Line because it had a sunroof and all the features we were looking for at a much better price than we had previously thought. He even followed up the next week to make sure I was happy with my purchase and understood how to use Apple CarPlay. I would buy from John again.

Our experience at your dealership was great. Our salesman Lindsey Martin went above and beyond the call of duty. He took his time to show my wife and I 5 different VWs and explained all the options for each. My wife decided on a 2016 VW Jetta Sport and she cant be happier. Mr. Martin is a true gentleman and your dealership should be proud as to the way he represents Browns VW and the VW brand. We have never owned a VW before now and it was because of Mr. Martins dedicated customer service is the reason why we would come back and reccomend him to all our family and friends for their future car purchases.

My car is currently being serviced at this location, and I just want to comment on the awesome customer service I ve been receiving from this business. Every time I call, they always are available. If I cannot speak to my service tech right at the moment, he reaches back out. I d like to say they have restored my trust. With Covid-19, I understand that a lot of shipments are delayed. Everyone is doing their best to to ensure run as smoothly as normal. So I am very satisfied so far with the professionalism, transparency, and integrity of this location. I just wanted to give a big thank you to you guys, especially Robert who has been so awesome. Your work is very appreciated! I would recommend this location to anyone, because they actually show that they value customers, and they take off the worry that some of us have when we place our vehicles in the hands of another.

Brought my 2004 VW TDI PD in to have wheels remove...

Brought my 2004 VW TDI PD in to have wheels removed bc local tire place overtorqued the lug nuts to point where wheels couldnt be removed by breaker bar.

They got them off after melting lug nuts and torching my alloys pretty good. Not bad work there.

Told service when car was dropped off that the rear drivers abs sensor is bad and needs to be replaced.

They charged us $$$ for a "diagnosis" of what we told them at drop off" - I can eat that okay. Not my biggest gripe although a bit shady of them.

My biggest issue is that service manager had 2 week old glow plugs replaced for a service bulletin and flashed my ECU which whiped my Malone stage 1.5 tuning. This was done without authorization. At no point was an ecu update mentioned otherwise my response would be dont go under the hood please.

To top it off the requested ABS sensor work wasnt done. But they had no problem charging us for what they were told at car drop off.

There ECU update is going to cost me anywhere from $400 to $600 to get tuned again and I still dont have working ABS.

I will never reccomend browns for service and I am very disappointed at the service manager and mechanic who did the work.

This must be a Virginia thing. This dealership, just like seemingly all dealerships in Virginia, that has an electric vehicle charging station on-site, continues to block said charger. I called and spoke to whatever excuse for a receptionist that have to inquire about it, she didn't even know what I was talking about it first! When she finally understood and told me it was in fact a public charger, her attitude was basically what do you want me to do about it. I called her useless and disconnected. Long story shortened a bit, there is some jerk that apparently works there that drives a big black truck that continues to park right in front of the charging unit. I really wish these selfish jerks would get "Whoop"ed (legally with fees that is) when they and others like them park in spaces reserved for electric vehicles. Of course, Virginia has no laws against such, and if it did it would not matter as this is a private business. I guess I'll just have to continue to wait for Electrify America (VW's guilt trip birth child) or some other infrastructure to install more units in the area. This is all the more hilariously outrageous with VW's new commercials and public statements of how they want to be the leader of electrified vehicles in production and sales. Yeah right. Not when you have this kind of BS going on at the dealership. I have a e-Golf by the way. That Kona or Niro EV is looking more appealing every day....

Excellent dealership with fantastic staff. Recently dropped by to browse for a replacement to my previous vehicle, and couldn t have had a nicer experience. Sparkling clean showroom, a well-maintained lot and all their staff were friendly and helpful (as well as adhering to COVID-19 safety regulations). After finding a vehicle I liked, they allowed us to inspect the car inside and out to our heart s desire and even allowed us to take the vehicle out and onto the highway to really get a complete feel. Amanda and her supervisor Ed were especially helpful in explaining everything and discussing financing and payment options. Didn t make a purchase at the time of visit, but hope to return and complete the purchase soon.

I wanted a used 2017 GTI sport in specifically white, sport rims, plaid seats, black headliner, manual, and I wasn t going to settle for anything but that. Sergio Pena found the car for me in 1 day, and it had extra s that I hadn t even asked for. Tinted windows, a professional exhaust, and it was already wired up for a sound system in the back. Between Sergio and Ed the sales manger, we worked out a fair deal, they provided me with service records of the services done to the car when they got it. They were persistently helpful in answering my questions and making sure I had no concerns. I definitely recommend buying a car from these guys, the process was smooth and I am extremely happy with the car.

I did not buy a car from Brown's Volkswagen but I would like to. I called about a used car on their lot and was prepared to drive from 3+ hours away to potentially purchase it. Greg Shank demonstrated tremendous knowledge and patience and really went the extra mile to help me make detailed arrangements with my lender for this purchase across state lines, and to take the car for inspection by an outside mechanic when I arrived in Richmond. At the last minute a nearly identical car surfaced less than an hour from my home so I'm sorry to say we did not end up giving Greg the sale. I highly recommend him nonetheless!

The service department did it again! When I thought I was going to have to pay a crazy amount of money to have my airbag clock spring replaced, the service team went out of their way to make sure the factory warranty was able to cover all repairs cost including diagnosing my 2013 Volkswagen passat! I truly appreciate them for getting my vehicle done same day and earlier than what they had originally told me! They are wonderful and highly recommend for any of your Volkswagen needs
