This is very nice place .I did not see al of it but for the activities which I attended I saw a very huge salmon good for many types of activities. It was like theater or amphi theatre. There was sound system . Huge screen to play videos. A bar to serve drinks. In this setting there was small tables and chairs to sit three four people and tall small tables to stand together and eat or drink.
First floor which was the entrance had lots of room with closed doors which I don't know how the arrangement was. But our host could use the corridor area for welcoming arrangements.

What more can I say about this magnificent edifice? From taking classical piano lessons as a child to witnessing rare films, this place is remains being special, beloved, and cherished! Dance Africa was a phenomenal experience, and even better it was to follow up with the bazaar / street fair the next days. One will never fail to bump into old friends from near and far. The musical is magnetic, the food scrumptious, the energy empyrean! Ensure you put this place on your agenda, and more than just for its special events and occasions.

This place is okay. I went there with a GoFoBo ticket, which they didn't recognize, until GoFoBo reps arrived afterwards. But I'm really giving 3 stars because the seating area was so cramped and uncomfortable, and made my back hurt. Have to climb up the stairs to get to any of the theaters. They're non-profit, so, if you're a smaller person, you might be okay with everything.

Great venue. Older seating, but great viewing angles.

Had to use the lift to get down to the cinema and someone was there to operate it.. So I was able to go up and down without any delay. Overall it was a day well spent.

The BAM is one of my favorite places in Brooklyn. They have every cultural event you can imagine

After many years of attending, it's a blessing to have experienced that phenomenal performance. This year was even more meaningful after my visit Nelson Mandela's So. Africa last Fall!!

Beautiful theatre that's as large as any in manhattan

One of Brooklyn's cultural treasures which makes quality film, theater and dance accessible to both a local and international audience. It is now rapidly becoming the centerpiece of downtown Brooklyn's renaissance. Venues are smaller in scale, they impart a sense of intimacy and community in experiencing BAM's presentations.

A great venue with interesting dance, performance art, theatre and cinemas. I have seen many amazing shows here including the original production of Satyagraha by Phillip Glass

I love BAM - very convenient, close to Atlantic Ave subway station, near Fort Greene, Downtown Brooklyn. Great concerts, plays, and movies!

A lively venue to see a movie. The seats are not particularly wide, however. Think old skool theatre. Some of the theaters are up stairs...be aware of that climb. The place gets very full/sells out, too.
But: Big screen.

A nice traditional building with great staff that are ready and willing to assist anybody who even looks like they need help. I usually go to BAM for the movie theater which is nice, quiet, and quaint. It's not too big, so you don't have to worry about temperature, as a smaller room is easier to control. Having been to the movies here so much I am kept in the know about what is going on with the opera and other events coming to this great fixture in Brooklyn.

I've been a member for several years, allowing me to see dress rehearsals of major shows for free and movies are cheaper. The building has a cafe that sushi had few live performances regularly. Bam is a wonderful part of my neighborhood.

BAM Rose Cinemas is a very cozy theater with comfortable seats, quality projection and audio and, most importantly, a great selection of creative, entertaining and educational films. I saw Boyhood and Eights Grade here. The best seats in the house are in the middle, not unlike most theaters, however due to the short and wide layout there are not as many available. At least this was true for the screens I experienced. There's a ton of great things to do and places to eat in the area so it's not hard to call this a destination cinema.

If you look at the design on the outside of the building. What might seem to be a nice design from afar is in actuality swastikas. I think they shud be removed asap

Saw a couple of movies here. The large theater is a great place, the smaller one not as much.

Beautiful space, they play great films and the prices are reasonable compared to other cinemas like AMC or regal

Oh, I love BAM. If you have a membership here, you enjoy the many perks of what the Brooklyn Academy of Music has to offer from live shows to popular movies to indie films. BAM is a paragon of the arts with the Rose Theater on one end and the rotating B.A.M. on the other. You just know you re going to have a good time when you come here!

Great shows and BAM cafe. High end performing arts institution.

Gorgeous theater, great popcorn, but the last few movies seemed like movie screenings for the hard of hearing. The volume was so loud I actually had to put tissue in my ears to enjoy the films, on various days over various months. And I'm a rock concert enthusiast. The experience was tainted because the volume was way too loud, and not in an immersive appropriate way.

Experience some of the best forms of art, dance, music etc.

The shows tend to be great but the staff practically frisk you to pretend they're keeping you safe.

This is a cultural gem in Brooklyn. They alway have a great selection of eclectic movies and great music and dance performances. And the building is beautiful.

Ive visit Bam P.J . Building as a child many yrs on school trips , and I also later worked here for 17 yrs and the experience at this place is still the same amazing . Everything about this place Speaks for its self , it Speaks volumes.

Movie theater was like an old fashioned theater, seat rows sloped up sharply so there were very few bad seats.

Beautiful space, great film programming. I can risk seeing a movie I've never heard of at BAM Rose Cinema because I trust the programmers and I've never been disappointed before.

Went here for their Lady Vengeance movie series and saw a flashback film from the 1970s. Very big building with modern facilities. They run a tight ship here with plenty of ushers and a knowledgeable ticket booth. The theater was of medium size and steep enough that you didn't have to worry about the person in front of you. Very cool experience and I'll definitely be going back.

I went to this location for a comedy show featuring Gabriel Iglesias for comedy week. It's a very large location, I was slightly nervous that I was going to be in a position that would not be comfortable or whatever terrible view of the stage. I was lucky enough to get a spot that a lot of legroom as I am 5'8" and saw a lot of reviews that said if you were stalling and 5'7" you would be crushed. I can tell there were a few people who are a little bit too tall for their seats, but everyone seemed to be in a comfortable enough position to enjoy the comedy show. These staff members who work there are very kind and helpful. It can't seem to be a slightly small location though, so if you have a problem with small spaces I would avoid going to this location for any big performances.

First time attending an event and it will not be my last.

This was my second time going to BAM, but my first time going to a show. The performance was wonderfu that I saw tonightl. The only thing I didn't like was that their were no railings to hold on to but other than that the theater was clean and a good place for performances.

I was here to see a movie. The theaters are nice, but the seats are very narrow.

Saw Wait, Wait, Dont Tell Me taping here and it was so much fun. It was at the Jay S auditorium. Well maintained and beautiful venue. Exceptional.

Amazing performance of The Hard Nut by the Mark Morris Dance Group

Having known nothing about this academy and as a first time visitor, all I can say is wow. WOW! This is a magical space full of raw talent and art and culture. The staff and instructors are so involved and nurturing it s easy to see why the space breeds such talent across the board.

This is the kind of New York I wish to see more of, the kind of spaces we need most, and I m glad the modest ticket price will go to making sure there s more of it. And that s all before I learned about their music therapy programs, accessible classes and long history of serving the community dating back to the 1940s.

Then, there are the kids... Let me tell you, it s hard to put into words how amazing each and everyone of they were. Truly. Each performance was unique and beautiful in a way that leaves you feeling like you just witnessed something magical... because you did!!! It pains me to know I will never be as cool as these kids, but I am learning to live with that feeling with the knowledge that the future performance is just a train stop away.

I will definitely be back and I hope everyone reading this will be right there with me - cheering!

Better than average movie theatre experience clean. A nice restaurant with appetizer server from the bar is on another floor. See the movie here if you have a choice amoung other theatres.

Love BAM, although the movie theater seats could use an upgrade!

One of my favorite theaters in BK. Great selection, and I love when they do festivals or feature shorts.

Great movies. Kind and always smiling staff. Great location near a Subway Station with different train options. BAM Membership has great advantages including paying have ticket for movies.

I got to see Jimmy Kimmel while he was in Brooklyn a few weeks ago at BAM. It was truly spectacular. The inside of the theater is gorgeous. There is a good amount of seating with a few balconies. Getting to BAM is extremely easy and the streets going towards the theater are well marked. If you have a chance, I saw go and experience it.

Hey, it's BAM! Saw TopHat, manager tried to spoil it for me, he didn't. So much for patron contributions.

Enjoyed the Market place and the galary presentation

Used to go here as a child on school trips and as an adult I still find this place crate when I do actually make it there.
