Ornate ceilings, great spot to watch a film. Some radiator (?) or building maintenance clanging reminded me that I was watching a movie, sort of distracting but not the worst.

I was not inside. Went there with the kids for the halloween gathering in front of BAM, BamBoo. I love that they really make this a safer (rather than going door to door) alternative for the kids. Everyone seemed to be warm, inviting and about the kids. The kids enjoyed themselves and I enjoyed them enjoying themselves.
Best place to experience art in Brooklyn! The selection of movies is always great !
It was great very spacious lots of room bedroom that you get when you sit for the Vita is amazing
I experienced the person in charge of membership services as being helpful and informative. Always enjoy myself there.
Highly recommend seeing, If Beale Street Could Talk".
Such a variety of performances. I've seen dance, film, theatre, and avant garde performance art in this space. Not to mention the other smaller performance spaces in BAM. The lobby tends to get chaotic and crowded during popular events.
LOVED the show we attended. Seats were great, theater was beautiful. There were a LOT of people there for various events, so it was a bit difficult to figure out where to go to pick up our tickets - clearer signage might have helped. But the employee we stopped to ask was able to point us in the right direction.
BAM is a beautiful, historical venue that presents cutting theater, talks, music and film. Parking can be tough, but it's easily reached by public transportation.
Nice historic building but at the show I went to it was freezing inside. I wasn't the only person really cold.
I come here every year for Dance Africa during the African Art Festival. Beautiful space.
beautiful spot for movies and theaters. Seats could be built better. If a tall person is in front of you, it's hard to cut off their head.
Fine and Performing Arts in Downtown Brooklyn! And movies....
went to see a screenplay of the Fleabag live performance, amazing place will come more often for live performances/films!
A building which houses phenomenal cultural and historical beauty. Many events are wonderful.
A gem of a theater.
Great selection of movies
They show great movies. Super popular movie house. Get there an hour early or else.
Beautiful theater with great shows & films. Also a beautiful building. Very classy.
Second only to the Barclay's as an entertainment source in Brooklyn...and that's debatable.
I attended the tribute to Martin Luther King Jr. and I thought it was excellent. There is a very varied cultural offer to check. The building is also very beautiful.
Awesome productions, cool movies, unpretentious atmosphere.
A great place to visit love their martin luther king jr. program this year.
highly recommended! Great spot, quality international programming. Both the opera house as the Harvey Theather are remarkable places. Affordable. Check also the free performances at the BAM cafe. We'll keep coming back.
One of the major cultural institutions in Brooklyn and NYC. Runs BAM Cinemateck, screens live performances from Met, has inexpensive movie theater.
Very nice theater and staff. Bar is obviously very overpriced. If you come late then you won't be seated until an intermission, but they have a good quality live stream of the show in the lobby.
Just recently came to a show at BAM Cafe in support of my friends band 'Soul Science Lab' it's a great spot to see some amazing concerts for free and very family friendly. I brought my daughter and her friend to the second performance. They really enjoyed themselves. I've also been to the Peter J Sharp building for their movie theater, and for some other paid concerts.
One of my favorite movie theaters in Brooklyn. They always show the best independent/foreign/art films. They've got great programming every month and sometimes q+a with the filmmakers. I highly recommend visiting this theater on any occasion. There's also a bar upstairs.
Fairly elegant smaller venue that has comfortable seating, though a little tight on leg room. Staff are friendly. Not sure if any food/beverage are available.
Quite possibly Brooklyn's best cultural asset. Interesting performing arts program plus an awesome indie movie theater. The performing arts theater is gorgeous. The movie theaters could use a refresh.
I am only posting a review for Tecknopolis 2019. I love BAM and I have been to many events there, that is why I was so dissapointed with this exhibit. It is really overpriced for what you get; most interactive experiences are available at other venues for less or for free (the Madame Tussauds museum or the Samsung Store, for example). Very expensive and not that exciting.
Went to the opera last night and had to pick up tickets at "will call" desk. Very well organized process but overwhelmed with people. People everywhere. Long line took 5 minutes. It's a zoo in the lobby. At intermission had to go to the men's room which turns out to be upstairs. There is a bar/lounge upstairs and again, a zoo.
Theater is old and wonderful.
BAM Bus back to Manhattan is terrific. Parked right outside. With reservation, just get on and pay and sit down. Goes up Third Avenue making stops at major intersections.
Very much enjoyed the experience.
Always a great experience in the heart of downtown Brooklyn.
Had a great experience at the movie theater here. Good service and nice, comfortable theater.
Loved it . I had never been to the theater at BAM. Good to know it's so close to home.
A Brooklyn staple that has a variety of entertainment for all ages and tastes. Great location near downtown Brooklyn.
I attended the BAM Cafe Live with Alsarah and The Nubatones. The music was AMAZING and the singer's voice was equally amazing. I'll be downloading some of their music.
Beautiful structure that epitomizes the arts of Brooklyn.
The seats are extremely narrow. They're good for no more than a person weighting about no max than165 and bathrooms are dirty
Beautiful Brooklyn staple. Great spot for movie dates
Went there for a workshop in afro caribbean dance it was great.
Great local place to go and see great performances. Been then so many times. Will keep going back.
Love the center ...makes the community feel represented!
Great theater and cinema. There programs can fluctuate between really interesting or really bland some years though.
Great performance space
Good movie theater
We went for the Sanam Marvi show. We were a bit late but the staff was super helpful.
I've seen so many wonderful performances there. And have a few more already booked. Love it.
Impromptu movie - just decided to see Last Man in San Francisco. I enjoyed it. Don't want to spoil the plot for anyone.
BAM Festival 2018!!! I Loved the Dance Africa Bazaar! It had such rich culture and music
Wonderful old theater. get there early on the weekends, the movies sell out!
Beautifully kept in is original style its a treat to see any event there
Beautiful spaces all around. Great place to see movies or theater, an absolute cultural institution. If you've never been, you should go as soon as you possibly can to whatever looks interesting. There's always something.
Beautiful building. Got to see the dress of Pina Bausch's "The Rite of Spring." It was truly fantastic. Those dancers gave so much. Bless them.
