Went for a movie. Theater itself was really clean. Just wish they would first in first out their popcorn. Fresh popcorn gets dumped on top of popcorn that's been sitting there. You might get lucky to get the fresh popcorn but you also might get the popcorn from the bottom. I was unlucky

You can see almost anything here, from current films to classical operas. I've also seen modern dance recitals, live jazz and folk music, TEDx Talks, ballets, film festivals, and more! It's truly the heart of Brooklyn's performing and contemporary arts scene.

The BAM is nostalgic in itself, but watching the 30th anniversary of the release of Spike Lee s 1989 masterpiece, Do the Right Thing in this iconic building on a hot summer day together with the locals from Brooklyn was an experience in itself. Great atmosphere thanks to the people and the building.

Beautiful structure, and then for Madonna's concert it was perfect. The acoustics are also excellent and the interiors are well laid out. The choice of elements is also good, a classic and industry mix.

Beautiful building. They show smaller/art/foreign/indie films and documentaries in addition to select wide release movies (Once Upon a Time... in Hollywood) , and occassionally bring back recent and older classics (Memento, Invasion of the Body Snatchers). They also have focused themes and retrospectives (eg, John Singleton). All around excellent theater. If you're in this area regularly I recommend getting the membership!

Nice place, not many people go to the movies, so of you prefer watching a movie with in a calm environment ( other movie theaters have people walking in the middle of movies and talking out loud) this place is recommended. Also they offer student discounts.

Great event looking forward to next year. The vendors were phenomenal. Everyone was so friendly and kind it was as if I was in another country with all of the different types of clothing and accessories to purchase. I have to say this one product stood out and it's called the loc Soc it's a new way to tie up dreadlocks and I saw alot of people sporting this new look so I asked the owner ray. He told me he has been in business for a tears and he just keeps getting more and more exposure through venues like today
I was impressed Keep up the great work and all vendors see you back in Brooklyn next year

Old school movie complex. Art movies, foreign movies, independent movies, critically acclimated movies and sometimes blockbusters. If you are not good with stairs call beforehand to see what theater your movie is in.

My boyfriend and I came to the Teknopolis with another couple and it was a great experience. The staff at BAM was very knowledgeable and courteous. This event even though enjoyable, was more something that would ve been something for teenagers or kids around 8yrs old.

One of the cultural gems of New York City, not just Brooklyn. We are longtime members, and go for music, theater, and movies. Few places offer the variety of high-quality arts programming that BAM does.

Saw the Grace Jones documentary here it was a little pricey at $15 for a matinee but it's going to a great cause so I didn't mind. Nice seating and the screen was just fine, great sound. As with most theaters don't bother with concessions they're overpriced. The butter for the popcorn is made from soybean oil in case anyone's wondering.

BAM encompasses several venues, all of which are comfortable and handsome, that show a variety of performing arts. If you want to see innovation in the performing arts, especially in Brooklyn, this is the place to see it. It is also on several subway lines and the Long Island Railroad.

Offers a wide range of cultural events..the biggest of its live productions is DANCEAFRICA. ..always wonderful. But the real estate selloff of that area has severely cut into space for its African marketplace and parking for this and other BAM events.

Obviously it's a beautiful arts landmark... Saw/heard a spectacular performance - Les Arts Florissants - which was inspired. The lack of the fifth star comes from some (not all) of the staff, particularly in the front lobby, who can be rude and pushy. I don't appreciate paying $125 for a ticket and then getting barked at and pushed around. Some training, folks, in good customer relations....

BAM is fabulous with a diverse array of programs ranging from film festivals to Opera to interactive tech installations. The Opera House is lovely, comfortable and the acustics and views are great even in the back row of the balcony.
