Love this place for Memorial Day weekend Dance Africa and the Street Festival

All I have to say is DanceAfrica performances and the African marketplace outside. The auditorium is in need of refurbishment. The seat are like the ones in elementary school, with rows too close together (Average height people have issues; I can only imagine taller people sitting in a middle seat ...ouch). Stylized modern stadium would be nice, but I know it does not go with the whole look of the theatre. I know it can be remodeled with this in mind.
I always try to pick a seat on the main aisle so that I can have a closer view of the elders, young dancers, and drummers at the beginning of the performance. Love it. *You can't take pictures/video of the DanceAfrica performances so don't bother trying. Those ushers will swoop down on you so quick, your head will spin.

Some of the best theater I've seen in New York has been here.

The #BAM membership is totally worth it for half off tickets, but the movie ticket prices are about the same price, if not even a little cheaper, than the other theaters in the city. I usually buy tickets online and show my email receipt at the door.

It's not too bad finding on street parking on a Sunday, but the subway is the best way to get there. There are 3 buildings, so double check that you are going to the right one.

This building is beautiful! I was there for a concert pre party! It was a stunning place for this event!

The" Souvenir"was a interesting movie about the struggles of a dysfunctional relationship

Theatre is beautiful. Madonna was a disappointment.

My daughter once performed at BAM. I love the place inside and out.

A great venue for dance, theatre, cinema and more. The programs and people are thoroughly planned and thoughtful.

Saw "Wait, Dont Tell Me" here and it was hilarious. The acoustics were excellent and the Jay Schwartz Theater is stunning. Highly recommend this place.

Went to an advance moving screening for the movie: Moonlight in theater 3.

The theater and seats were very comfortable and any spot in the theater was good for viewing the movie.

They also have great popcorn at the concession stand.

This theatre is great, it has great popcorn and nice snacks. The seats are on the smallish size. The staff are nice and the crowds are pretty respectful.

BAM has been providing Quality events since ever ... support the Arts ... Great place to catch a film . Support the Arts here in Brooklyn . Seriously you never know when it might get turned into condos ...

Old, stuffy theater felt a bit claustrophobic, but theater stuff was extremely nice and helpful

An old theater. Everything is in the right place and it s super easy to get there due to the subway. Compared to Manhattan s Broadway s theaters it s not that beautiful.

New ways to think about issues, new ideas to contemplate--attending BAM keeps me young!

Pretty cool small theater. Shows all your non-blockbuster award nominee films.

BAM is fabulous with a diverse array of programs ranging from film festivals to Opera to interactive tech installations. The Opera House is lovely, comfortable and the acustics and views are great even in the back row of the balcony.

Came here for an event and it was great. However, parking is impossible and much of the house staff was a bit rude.

Beautiful, no lines, and no phones allowed for Madonna concert. Three stars for closing all the bars down by mid-show

In addition to having my high school graduation here, I just love coming here. It's beautiful, there is a cafe upstairs and always a good show.

Came here for free concert. They gave out surveys and were really polite about it. No pressure to buy food or drinks

Palmer Johnston is just rude and nasty, I can't believe that the Brooklyn Academy of Music would employ such a rude person.

I LOVE it! Another place to see great shows that's not in Manhattan. Warning - they won't let you take in a drink if its not in their special no spill cup, so be careful what you order.

This is Brooklyn's number one destination for independent, foreign and classic film screenings. It can get crowded at times so get your tickets in advance. They building itself is a historic beauty both inside and out.

Buy the tickets in advance to avoid long lines. Don't get an Uber walk a block down and get a green cab

I love this place - they have the best programs, concerts and shows, the staff is great and I always have a good time there.

Super uncomfortable seats and I get they want to keep their aesthetic but people are like spilling on top of each other although nice staff

Went to BAM to check out Dance Africa.......alot of vendors and some very beautiful items to purchase.

Love the show there. They had drink services but little over priced. Over very good atmosphere

First time at BAM for Madonna s Madame X Tour. The venue is gorgeous and the staff very friendly and helpful. Unreal to see the Queen of Pop super close, in a small venue.

Great sound! Please donate to this center for the arts so that they can continue programming and make updates to their facility!

This is place is always great for first rate films and their cinematek is always showing treasures and festivals of the great filmmakers.

Comfortable seating, smallish movie theater spaces.

First time there yesterday to see the Madame x tour. Sing Madonna in a small venue like BAM WAS AMAZING. No matter where you sit, you have a great view of the stage, all the seats are flip up and have armrests they sell drinks and food on each floor, and I was not bothered when I brought my own bottle of water and which I was grateful for because I drink a lot of water. anytime someone is playing here definitely see them there because you will have a great view of the artist the place is constructed beautifully. A very wonderful stop in Brooklyn.

This is a wonderful spot where you can go to movies, see performances and more. There plenty of good restaurants in the area and it's right close to public transportation and a short walk from downtown Brooklyn.

The only thing i didn't like was that looks that there's no dressing rooms for the performers... They start to take off theirs clothes in front of the audience! (Humans) but is well located, you're in the middle of the street and you don't even notice only when you're going to leave and the street is right in front of you, i like that!

Wonderful experience. The music was AMAZING and the singer's voice was equally amazing. These staff members who work there are very kind and helpful.

My wife and I love this place, we always watch movies there, and sometimes operas

Friendly staff. Clean theaters situated in a beautifully maintained, historic building. Lots of cafes and restaurants nearby to grab a bite to eat before or after a performance or film.

A beautiful theater, that always brings in phenomenal shows. Great atmosphere bursting with history and life. Definitely recommend going see a show here whenever you can!
