It been almost a week and the car works great. The service here was great and was a better experience than the dealership I was at. Really want to say thanks to Isaac Moon for putting up with me and my bank situation/ old car situation. He was wonderful and went up and beyond for me, and definitely had a great time:) Also I want to thank Brett Frantz for picking me up from Dubuque both times to come down to Iowa City. Lastly want to thank Elijah for finalizing everything and making it happen. Thank you so much for the awesome experience and keep up the good work! :)

My husband and I recently went to Billion in Iowa ...

My husband and I recently went to Billion in Iowa City to look at a used pickup my husband had seen online. The problem began when we were never asked if we had a preference for financial institutions. They wrote it up with Wells Fargo, which would not have been our choice and the rate was a point more than our credit union. So Billion did a credit check and Wells Fargo. If you don't know it already, credit checks make your score going down. Once I noticed we were being charged a whole point more, we refinanced with Green State, which Billion is supposed to use as well. Green State credited our credit again so now we are talking a 22 point drop in credit score! Two weeks after the purchase, the check engine light came on, this is after being told they are put through 172 point check. My husband sat at the dealership for about 4 hours dealing with this not because the problem was huge, but because they spent 2-1/2 hours deciding who was paying for it. The salesperson who'd been so nice during the sale, hardly recognized my husband.
I have never been a fan of car dealers or the process and this experience did not change my mind at all.
Also, not a mask in sight by any of the employees except the lady at the front desk, this during a pandemic!

Although my experience with Guido buying a used truck and trading in my 07, was at 1st great. The 09 Chevy Silverado I bought had a bad vibration in the rear and the cruise control didn't work, I figured it was just a brake job and the foot switch on the brake pedal. Brakes checked out ok, but the upper control arm and ball joints were bad, Billion repaired it in a couple hours. I know I accepted the truck as is but the vibration during deceleration was horrible! I had all new brakes, rotors, rear drums installed. Still bad vibration. Checking online I find out the Silverado shake is a known problem and can be caused by a myriad of things. Out of tolerance aluminum driveshaft, shocks, etc. I wanted a bigger vehicle because I'm disabled and on disability, and other than this potential costly problem, I like this truck. But I'm left to my own device on repairing this possibly dangerous vibration in the rear of the vehicle!

I had my guard up when I walked in, because I dread buying a car, but Steven made the experience a whole different experience than I was use to. Best service department in Iowa.

I typically dread taking my car to the dealer for warranty work, because most of the time its a battle to get them to repair the car, or has to be escalated to corporate.

Not the case with Billion. Every issue I pointed out was promptly addressed and fixed to satisfaction. They treat the car like it's their own and strive to take care of everything, no matter how minor or nit picky the issue is.

There is a very comfortable waiting room and an efficient process to get people in/out. Everyone I talked to is very friendly and helpful. Alex Shalla did everything he could to ensure I was satisfied with the work.

I will be taking my car exclusively to Billion from now on for service, and my next vehicle purchase will likely be from them due to the great experience I had with the service department.

They got me right in and it only took 45 min. Suffice it to say, they were done earlier and I was very happy.

My salesman Eddie was great and very helpful in helping us find a used Tahoe. Unfortunately, the rest of my experience at Billion Auto was very disappointing.

We had been shopping at several dealerships in the past months, consistently being offered $7000 trade-in value for my trade. One could imagine my surprise when Billion Auto offered me ONLY $500. While this is obviously a bit irritating, what I could not tolerate was the manner in which the sales manager treated my wife and I.

He spoke to us in a condescending manner, belittling our financial decision of committing to a specific budget when purchasing a new vehicle.

He continued to treat us like foolish children for not being willing to finance a nicer newer MORE EXPENSIVE vehicle. We came to this dealership to try and purchase a vehicle, not to receive a lecture on personal finance.

Need to emphasize that Eddie was great through the whole process, but unfortunately we cannot refer others to Billion Auto due to the appalling experience we had with the sales manager.

Great to deal with until the deal is closed. Do not work with Eli - great guy, friendly, helpful while trying to close you. Once the deal is done and you have issues - he becomes condescending and rude. Not a genuine person. Dealership unresponsive to issues - only care about the sale, not maintaining a relationship with the customer. My advice is to shop elsewhere - lesson learned.

My 98 truck had two problems: leakage under the right front and a driver's door that wouldn't open from the outside. Those problems were accurately diagnosed and fixed. What I appreciate even more is that they keep track of what routine maintenance services are due to be done. There were several due, and they performed them. My truck runs great!

Bought a 2020 vehicle, which they said they only had 1 key for. I did pay for a second because yes, I agree, its possible to get by with 1 key but bought for my own peace of mind. Now after reading reviews, this seems like a pattern, so are they doing this on purpose? Not sure. THEN, after paperwork is signed, realized the tail light was cracked. I do understand I should have caught this, but they won't do a thing about it. I even offered to take care of having a new one installed if they could just send me the part. Felt that was a fair split. Nope, nothing they will do. Poor follow through for this company after spending the amount of money I just did. Lesson learned. Hope this helps future shoppers. Salesman was nice (Blandon). Not his fault, Eric calls the shots.

If I could give zero cars I would. I went to Billion for a specific vehicle; it was way overpriced, they would not budge on price, and they did not give me anything for my trade. Unfortunately I had to work with Levi Walker and it was terrible. They put me in a terrible situation financially and a terrible vehicle has been nothing but problems. They car more about the one sale instead of being honest and fair in order to keep your business over the long run. They then shipped me off to a finance manager who sold me a terrible insurance deal that covers absolutely nothing. With all my heart I suggest if you are looking for a car go elsewhere. They will do you dirty just like they did to me. I will never go there again.

I picked out a car they did an evaluation on my trade in. Then it took about a week for them to process the car I wanted since they had just got it in. During that week I asked several times for a price and the amount for the trade in. They would never give me any of that information, but reassured me every time that it would be in my budget. The day it was suppose to be ready to be picked up they offered me a significantly lower amount for my car than other dealerships and when I told them that they told me I might as well go back to the other dealership. I will never buy from someone who doesn't want my business.

Warren was a great guy didn't waste time. Had a vehicle there waiting first vehicle I test drove I loved. Payed attention to what I had told him in correspondence through text and phone. To bad my I couldn't afford payment because of my credit and upside down on my trade in. Will be back when I get those things in order to purchase a vehicle from warren.

Disregarded my concerns and was unable to complete the warranty repair after 3 visits where I explained my concern all 3 times. They obviously cater to the less technically experienced public which worries me that they have done this before and the customer may not be aware of the situation.

I'm so very disappointed with this company. To start off I had traded my vehicle in for another. On my on way home the car stalled. I let go and never said anything about it, until it happen 3 more times. We called them and they told us they sell their cars AS IS but if we want to come in (which is and hour and half away from us) they would love to look over the car and see if they can fix it. We decided not to because knowing them we will end up eating more money from them. To add in I still haven't received license plates for my vehicle. Oh and to add in I'm still paying for my vehicle that I TRADED IN. They're unorganized and that fact that I'm still paying of a vehicle they have pisses me off even more. I would never reccomend them to anyone. They just want to take your money and screw you over.

Guido from Billion Auto was the first dealer to reach out to me when I set out seeking information and since the first call, he was constantly in touch but not pushy. This shows his responsiveness and perseverance and most importantly the space he provided for me as a customer.

When I met Guido at the showroom, everything was perfect, we discussed various vehicleoptions, test drive, finalizing quotes and completing the sale.

I had a fantastic experience with Billion Auto, folks like Ely, Ben and Guido made it awesome for my family. Thanks, highly recommend and highly satisfied.

I had a wonderful experience at Billion. My salesman, Cory Findlay, had expert knowledge and didn't try to hassle me. He answered all questions and explained all options. He took care of my car immediately when a cyclist hit it 2 days after purchase! All of the other people I dealt with at Billion were great and friendly. I'm looking forward to my car experience with Billion over time.

I wish there was ZERO star rating! This is the 4th time I have taken my vehicle to Billion GMC Iowa City and the 4th time my vehicle has not been fixed as promised. March 3, 2017 I had a 7:30 a.m. appointment to get a lock switch replaced, cruise control checked, oil change and tires rotated. Alex was in charge of my vehicle. At 1:15 pm I called Alex and no one could find him and the receptionist said she would leave a message for Alex to call me. 3:15 pm I called again....STILL can't find Alex! 4:20 I called again and spoke with Abby who could not find Alex. I told Abby this was my 3rd call and to please find Alex. While I was on hold Steve called me. He said the lock switch was covered by my warranty but it was a 2 hr job and couldn't be completed today. REALLY? You have had my car in your service area for 9 hours. Here's the kicker...oil change has not been done, tires have not been rotated and the part for the cruise control needed to be ordered. I was beyond angry! 5:00 guess who called??? ALEX! He asked me how my day was? I asked him if this was a joke? He called to let me know that my oil change was done. I'm trying so hard not to cuss my brain out at this point! Billion GMC Iowa City had my vehicle for 10 hrs and I got an oil change! Now I get to go back next week to get the 2 hr lock switch put in and the cruise control fixed. Boy oh Boy I can't wait!

I went to IA City with my daughters awhile back on a Sat. morning. The buttons on the dash that turn on lights etc. went into the dash. We could see that it wouldn't take much to fix it and not wanting to take it home that way, (for my husband to see) we decided to stop and get it fixed. We first stopped at McGrath Buick in CR. They were not the least bit friendly and after he spent several minutes on the computer he said it would cost $47 + tax to get it fixed. We decided to pass on that offer as all they needed was to take out 2 screws and push it back in. We then tried Billion Auto Chevrolet Buick in IA City. They were very friendly and fixed it in less than 5 min and wouldn't take anything for it. I guess I know who I would rather do business with in the future. You have a great service dept. Thanks!!

Recently took my 2016 Buick Encore in for interior/exterior detail service. I was extremely impressed by Nick McDonald's attention to the project; he even called to let me know that due to a staffing issue, my car would have to remain over the weekend. When I reached the dealership at the time of the appointment, Nick worked to ensure Bluetooth connectivity in a courtesy vehicle. Even though Nick promised "showroom" appearance, I couldn't believe it when I saw the finished vehicle. Nice Nick! Thanks Billion. I'll be back! :)

I was satisfied with my sales person he was there ...

I was satisfied with my sales person he was there working the deal for me GREAT guy! Customer service after the sale in Finance Department was not helpful or caring of the situation I was put into at ALL!!! Typical protocol since I've owned or leased a vehicle was a notice of renewal which came to your home, you pay it and the Treasure mails the sticker to be put on your plate. I had not leased with Billion in the past thought I'd give them a shot. 2016 sticker never came didn't realize I was late until the local police pulled me over to share the news. The nice man gave me a warning. I first called Billion what do I do? Nothing, no help call the lease company. Lease company says they never received it, call the local Treasurers office, no help there, they said call the lease company they were sent there 6 months ago, on and on and on. Unnecessary time wasted and a $59.00 late fee. Was told it was all taken care of. 11/25/2017 on my way to work and a not so friendly local police pulled me over and gives me the news I'm 6 months delinquent on my license renewal AGAIN, who thinks of this every year? This time $127.00 fine and again I call Billion was hung up on twice trying to get transferred to someone to help which took at least 15 minutes on hold. A Lady who was not helpful at all says it's not her problem, I worked in a dealership in my years of employment and the Finance Department worked with the Treasurer, Title office and the Leasing Company. So again Called the Leasing Department they never saw them but they would give me a Power or Attorney to get them. Called the Treasurers office they mailed them to the Leasing company Six months ago REALLY!! I called Billion back again on hold a very long time and hung up on when being transferred. Oh MY by now I'm completely mentally exhausted and late for work. My boss graciously gave me time to get the problem rectified, in which took two more hours of my days pay to get it resolved with another $59.00 late fee and told this was resolved. Called Billion finance department again to ask if it could be rectified for next year on there end and she again said she wasn't responsible that I was. Could she not have tried so this didn't happen again? I documented the date in my personal calendar and hopefully this doesn't happen again. I have one more year on this lease and I will NEVER use and or recommend Billion Auto.
I work with high dollar sales and my employer would NOT allow this!! Again, I will not recommend Billion Auto or use them, there are other dealerships on every corner. So some would say I'm responsible, yes but somewhere down the line I'm told it started right here in the finance department. I feel I should be compensated in some way for all the fees, fines and time off work to rectify their problem that could have been taken care of the first time this happened. All I expect is respect!!!

I stopped at Toyota after work on a week day. In the parking lot for 15 minutes looking around. Went in and was told it was 6:04 and they were closed unless I knew what car I wanted at that moment (not going through finance and they were aware). Looked around the Honda lot and went back to the Buick lot. Came in the door to see if they were open and was met by Tate Winegar and he said we never close. We talked about what I was looking for and looked a bit online. After a couple of hours and looking at a few cars I was tired and Tate was looking up more information on a few I was interested in. Next visit we looked at his information on the cars we talked about. Started to walk around the lot and I saw a Buick Verano I wanted to drive. Loved the color and the beautiful and practical inside. Drove it and it drove like a dream. Told Tate this was the one I wanted to look at pricing on. Negotiated with the gentleman in that position. Stood firm on my price and ended up trading my car in for a great price and was within $500 of my offer to them. The process was easy, great information from Tate when I picked the car up a couple of days later and was in contact a few more times with questions. I was even given a sturdier set of floor mats at no cost. I feel free to talk to Tate any time on the phone, by text or just stopping by.

Just bought a used 2018 car from here. Got a pretty decent deal on financing all things considered and the sales team is very friendly. If you find the right people you can have a pretty pleasant experience without having a stereotypically pushy car salesmen. There is a fair amount of paperwork involved as to be expected, but I was in and out in about 2 hours. The gentlemen I spoke to is named Tate, but I'm sure you could have a decent experience with just about anyone there. As with all dealerships, (speaking from previous experience) dont get pushed into making any deals you dont want to make, and make sure what you're getting is what you actually want. And always ask plenty of questions if you have them.

Looked at their online inventory and found a vehicle I was interested. When I showed up to test drive it (after speaking with a general customer service rep and the salesman), I was informed that the mileage on the vehicle was misrepresented...by 60,000 miles. When I declined to drive the vehicle based on the fact that it had more mileage than my current vehicle, the salesman proceeded to try to upsell me to something beyond my stated price range, again with higher miles. After showing me how to use a basic search engine, I finally had enough and left. The mileage is still incorrect on the site.

We are in the market for a truck. I think the whole car buying process is a joke. We told them right when we went in that we weren't buying that day but they did everything in their power to keep us there and ultimately it took nearly two hours to get a little bit of information. They went so far as to show us a used truck that ultimately wasn't going to cost any less than they new truck we were asking about and the used one didn't have everything we wanted. They were very polite but I felt like everyone time was wasted

Billion Auto - Chevrolet. Here is a warning when buying a used car from this dealership. Make sure you ask if the car has two sets of keys. Purchased a 2017 used car with less than 20,000 miles and only after they had my non refundable deposit and signed papers did they inform me the car had one key. Each key for this car is around $250. The finance person is very pushy on selling the extended warranty & protection package. It took several minutes and multiple no thank you I don t want any extra protection or added warranty before he realized I wasn t buying any extras. Lastly, pay close attention to the details on the paper work before signing. Two days before I purchased the car I was approved by my credit union for the loan at a rate of 4.24%. The dealership said my credit union is one of their finance partners and I would get the same rate financing through them. However, when they brought out the paper work it showed a slightly higher rate. I called them out on it and they did fix it. Just need to pay close attention to the details when buying from this dealership. They will try to sneak stuff by you hoping you won t notice. I will not buy from any of the Billion Auto dealerships in the future and would not recommend them to my family and friends.

We have been researching for a full month at different dealerships (getting pressured and harassed) looking for the price we could afford and felt comfortable with.
Finally, Billion Automotive and there excellent sales member, Mathew Mahaffey gave us the price we could afford. He helped us out so much. I loved the way he didn't pressure us and showed us how valuable our business is to him. He was so knowledgeable about the different cars and told us everything we needed to know. I would come back again and would always ask for Mathew for my next purchase in the future!

I have bought my last 4 cars from Billion and always get them serviced there. After I had my car serviced I received an email about trading in my car. I replied and told them that I really wasn't looking to trade in, plus my car had high miles and I was upside down on it, as I had traded 2 times close together. Then William Freytag contacted me and had me come in to talk about options. Im pretty picky about what I have to have in a vehicle. I wanted leather/heated seats, dark interior qnd wanted either black or white for outside color. Within a couple weeks I went back and William found me a 2015 LTZ Cruze. So I ended up trading and down sizing . I'm very happy with the service I receive at Billion of Iowa City!!!

Very disappointed. Was told I was pre-approved for a car, and drove almost 2 hours to find out, I was not. The Sales person Pepe, said he would contact me the following Monday, to see what we could make happen. Never heard from him. Not impressed with anything from this place.
