Super expensive. Hidden fees. Dirty suite. Restaurant was uneatable. Great view though. 3rd stay. Will not return

This was a really cool place! It's a huge glass pyramid with the biggest Bass pro shops, restaurants and a bowling alley. The rooms look like rustic cabins with a nice bathroom. It also has a free standing elevator which takes you to a restaurant/bar with a big fish tank and a glass lookout at the top of the pyramid. Walking distance to downtown and right by the river. Definitely check it out next time you're in Memphis!
Nice place and cozy place! The spa services are awesome. I really enjoyed
Place is inside Bass Pro Shop in Pyramid. Rustic place but in my opinion not enough lighting inside each rooms. Also, being inside another shop, there is not much of a view but view of the store. In this Covid-19 situation, staff was not maintaining proper etiquette of wearing masks. Although, they are doing one good thing of not renting rooms for 24 hours from check-out.
Am staying at this place right now. Service on all levels is very poor. If you want to experience Memphis hospitality, stay at the Peabody!
This place was amazing. This will now and forever more our stopping point when traveling. Room was bigger than expected and very comfortable. Kinda had that cabin in the woods feel to it even though we were sleeping inside a huge building. Kept telling my son that we are now going to call him pharaoh cause he slept inside the pyramid in Memphis. I cannot stress enough how great the room and experience was here.
Great view, good drinks. Didn't eat while we were there
Our Big Cypress Lodge stay has been amazing! We had a meal at Uncle Bucks...the food was great and the service even better! The staff from the front desk to the valet to the room service were all so helpful! We can not say enough about how awesome this hotel is!
Luxuriously comfortable. We spent a night there during the Covid-19 time; we were just passing though and most hotels we stayed at were not well maintained/cleaned like they usually are because of the layoffs. But this place despite being empty was still perfectly clean. Staff were very friendly, dine-in was available but we didn t try it.
Such a cool place to stay. Will definitely go again. They meet your every need. 4 stars tho. Did order room service and had to call for missing items. Felt bad for the room porter who had to go back and forth 3 times
I visited the Gould's DAY Spa. It was a wonderful experience. The service was excellent, the staff was friendly and very knowledgeable. I will be back.
Wow it is so nice here , The staff at the Big Cypress Lodge are the sweetest ever
Stayed there over spring break with my family and really enjoyed the concept. Everything was clean and comfortable but we had originally planned to stay in a treehouse suite. My dad confirmed it several times before our arrival one of those times being the day before just to be thouroughly disappointed in them not having the room available. Apart from that the employees of the hotel itself were awful! They disabled all of our room keys on our first full day there just to have a major attitude when we asked them to fix the problem. Because my dad was so frustrated with the way he was treated he accidently locked all the keys in the room and when my mom (the only one with an ID) went down to get it resolved they coped an attitude with her and made it a generally horrible experience. Overall it was disappointing to stay at a supposedly nice hotel just to have the entire team lacking. While the rooms were still nice and things weren't horrible we didn't get the room we wanted and had to listen to the train go by at all hours of the day. We also had valet and used the app which was incredibly efficent and smart- until they deleted us from the app before our stay was done. Overall we did get a compensation for our troubles but unless you would want to argue with the hotel management for 40 minutes about service then I wouldn't really recommend it. Memphis is an awesome city with better places to be.
A one of a kind experience. A giant pyramid with a well thought out wilderness village inside. Complete with swamps, fish of all kinds, majestic trees weeping with Spanish moss, bridges, panoramic taxidermied animals of North America. Beautiful 5-star hotel overlooks the scenery with everything Bass pro shops has to offer entwined throughout the village.
My two boys and I stayed at the Big Cypress Lodge while visiting Memphis. We had a room with a screened in porch overlooking the Bass Pro sales floor. The hotel room, the lobby and the hotel staff were incredible. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone who loves the outdoors. If you have kids, they will love looking at the Bass Pro shop from the rocking chairs on the porch.
My family and I stayed in a Tree House Suite on May 3rd, a few days after they opened. Balconies offered a great view of the interior of the Pyramid and our rooms were well decorated. A delicious welcome basket of goodies were left in each of our rooms. The front desk also gave us enough passes to ride the elevator to the top of the Pyramid.
I'll never come back Tiki one of. You're elevator over paid untitled EMPLOYEES very unsociable & needs to be RETRAINED to respect the customer we are the one's who pay for there salary
Love this lodge! Little different but has a lot of little touches that make it awesome. Second time visiting and we will continue to drive through Memphis every time we travel this way
Big Cypress Lodge exceeded our expectations in every way. The hotel staff were incredibly friendly and attentive throughout our stay. Our room was decorated out of an outdoorsman's dream--wood, fireplace, and mounted deer. My husband was in heaven! Everything was clean and top of the line furnishings. The bathroom was really spectacular with a double jetted tub and nice fixtures. On top of all these great features, the complimentary snacks (popcorn, chips, delicious cookies, bottled water), free shuttle to nearby nightlife, and elevator tickets to the observation level were a wonderful bonus. And really, how can you complain with the views of the store and easy access to great shopping?! Big Cypress Lodge is impressive and we highly recommend it!
The room was very nice and the shuttle service was great. Its too bad the praise stops there.
First, when we arrived at our room, the door was not closed. The room appearance seemed fine at first, but trash was left on the floor, in the shower, and on the bathroom counter. Open soap was left on the counter. Desk drawers in the room would not close.
We ordered the anniversary special . No one bothered to say they were out of stock on the commemorative glasses. We got champagne and the cake in the room, but no glasses, no fork, not even a napkin. I asked three different time to get glasses. Never happened.
We went down to Uncle Bucks to eat about 5:45 PM on Sunday as they close at seven. There was a long line. I made my way to the front and finally got an acknowledgement from an employee. ONLY to be told, they we take no more guest, even if it was still an hour to close. Thank goodness the shuttle works.
Not a good experience.
Super nice place to stay and VERY relaxing! The hotel staff were very accommodating! Would definitely recommend!
It's a wonderful hotel. I was skeptical staying in a hotel located in a store but it was surprisingly fun. The beds were really comfortable, the room had complimentary snacks and drinks, and the theme lodge room was unique. I wish it was a little less expensive but you can't beat the friendly staff and convenience to downtown. They even offer free shuttle service to areas around downtown
We stayed in the duck cabin for our anniversary. The staff was great, the food was great, the room was spectacular. It was built to look like a cabin and had a porch with rocking chairs that overlook the sales floor. The interior was decorated to look like a cabin, complete with a fake fireplace that turned on with a switch. They had a basket of goodies for us and a personal note. We also took advantage of the room service for breakfast, which was quick and tasty. With all that said, it was kind of a one time experience and we probably would not pay that much for a room there again.
Hospitality has been beyond superb. If I were to complain about anything, it's the long walk from check in to rooms. But, given how it's laid out on the outer rim of a pyramid...it's excusable. Haha
I didn't actually stay there, only walked around Bass Pro and looked at prices. It looks amazing though
Very nice stay. We enjoyed the accommodations as well as all that the Bass pro has to offer. Valet parking was a little slow coming in at 8pm, but quick service at check out. Would definitely stay again.
There is legend about the place more then reality. High prices, no real services and far from the downtown action like foods, drinks and so on.
I will never book any services at this provider. We live an hour away and had a couples massage booked for this morning at 11. They called us at 10 when we are on the road heading there. My wife works nights and woke up after three hours of sleep for this appointment. It was supposed to be our time together as a couples massage. They informed us one of the employees had an emergency and wouldn t make it in. We asked what they could to for us to help alleviate the situation. The employee had to call the owner. The owner returned by saying we could still come in and do a back to back massage. This isn t what we contracted for and it didn t meet our expectations. We had bought the massage on Groupon and couldn t use it on a Friday. My wife is off on Fridays, so we asked nicely if we could make the appointment for Friday since this was the spas fault. The owner snapped at my wife and told her absolutely not without any hesitation or offer to remedy the situation. I got on the phone to explain to her, first that isn t how you handle a situation you created. She proceeded to hang up on me. Mind you, this is a service that I ve already paid $100 for and haven t set foot in the building. I call her back and calmly explain to her that she doesn t have to do this for every customer. She was at fault and we were asking for an accommodation for both parties. She continued to talk over and down to me. She then hung up on me again. If I could leave zero stars I would. We frequent Bow Tie Massage in Cordova all the time and love it. If you are looking for a better massage with excellent customer service. I suggest you not waste your money or time with this garbage of a business.
We stayed here for our one year anniversary. It was definitely an adventure!
Drinks were great and not really over priced. Everyone had a great time, really great view of Memphis from the over look. There was a ten buck cover but it was pretty nice a lot of really cool looking art work there too.
Incredible place, nice and clean with a friendly atmosphere. Super cozy and amazing room.
This place is great. There's so much to see and do!
Amazing attraction. A must visit for Beale St goers
Luxurious and relaxing. Like being outdoors but completely indoors. Rooms have screened in sound proof porches. You can see out but people can't see you. Feather beds and amazing bathrooms.
Didn't know how I felt about a hotel inside a Bass Pro Shop, but I was surprised.
They do a great job of keeping the store and the hotel area separate.
You need a key card to make the elevators work to get to the rooms.
The giant elevator was cool, and you get free ride passes with your stay.
The rooftop restaurant and observation deck is a must!
Yummy hotel. Completely different. Each room like a hunting lodge. make sure you get a room overlooking the Bass Pro Store. It's amazing
Came in at 8pm on a Saturday and waited 1 hour to sit and another 2 hours to get our food at Uncle Buck's Grill. The manager said that was typical for a Saturday night. But the place was nearly empty. A few people got up and left before their food came out. Terrible restaurant. They need help.
My family & I visited Big Bucks restaurant inside Bass Pro at the Memphis Pyramid. The experience was horrible. The server (Christine) had a very nasty attitude. She lacked customer service skills, was very impatient & appeared confrontational. She was not friendly at all. She wasn't knowledgeable of the menu nor the prices. Everytime we asked her a question, she responded with the words , "I think." We were the only African American customers that she had. She was awful to us. She was also African American. We were so thankful when she removed herself as our server. I gave a rating of 1 star. That was extremely generous considering the horrible treatment we received. This was our first time visiting. We will never dine there again.
If you're into the outdoors or not this place is amazing
It is huge! As always, the Staff are competent, knowledgeable, & helpful. The aquarium and steams are amazing with all the fish; and the dioramas and wildlife displays are great! They had specials going on and it was a lot of fun!p
This hotel exceeded all of our expectations. From checkin to check out, everyone was polite and helpful. Our room was great, especially the comfy beds and jetted tub. And warm cookies at bedtime each night was a nice treat. We had an interior room, so it was nice and dark at night. The rooms with balconies overlooking the store looked fun too. It's in a good location near downtown and has lots of amenities, including the big Bass Pro Shop with lots to see, two restaurants (the Lookout is excellent), a bowling alley and several bars. All in all, we'd stay here again, as it's not just a novelty, it's a well-approved hotel.
This place was amazing to look at. The price was ok a little high for what the room was. However all considered I'd go back!
Bellman JASON was awesome!! The so called shuttle service is a joke. We tried to go down to Beale St. Shuttle was 45 minutes away. When we tried to come back to the hotel. The driver was on lunch . We booked 4 adults and one child. Was assured we would get a rollaway bed. When we arrived, the hotel would not provide a bed for our child due to fire codes. 3 towels for 5 people? Uncle Bucks Restaurant is HORRIBLE!!!!! Motel is pretty cool but for the rates they charge a LOT OF IMPROVEMENTS NEED TO BE MADE.
Loved it!! We had such a relaxing visit for my birthday and there were plenty of things to do and see inside the building. The screened in "porches" on the rooms were awesome. Sitting out there and overlooking the cypress swamp was nice and relaxing. Great spot to read.
The room was beautiful and relaxing as well with a great tub for soaking before bed and a seperate shower with rain shower head for a quick shower after traveling. The fireplace was great to have on for ambiance. There were so many neat features in the room. From the light that reflected cypress limbs into the tub, to the blue light in the room and so many things in between.
We can't wait to stay there again.
The kids loved the theme...the hotel looks like it's designed by Disney Imaginiers. Husband loved the free snacks...he said he's never stayed somewhere with so much free stuff. I loved the decor and the way Bass Pro Shops looked after hours from upstairs. We didn't stay in a balcony room but will next time. The staff was SO friendly and tried to refuse a tip after giving us the best customer service on our cross country drive. We have eaten at both Uncle Bucks and the roof top restaurant--both are worth eating in at least once in your life, even the bar at the top...go have a drink even if it's just to see the 1000gal aquarium. The views are amazing at night with the Mississippi River and bridge all lit up. I would definitely stay again! The only disappointing thing was that most of the Bass Pros have a nice coffee shop with good coffee, and this one didn't. We are coffee snobs so we went suffered through Starbucks across the street, but other than that the ambiance was amazing, the beds comfy, the shampoo smelled great and we might redo our bathroom to have that relaxing rock and waterfall shower.
Honestly it's a cool place but as far as the food goes or the service I wouldn't brag about this place. I do understand it's a bass pro shop, But hotel wise this should not be a hotel that's for sure.
This hotel should not have a four star rating. Our experience was very disappointing like other reviewers I gave ample opportunity for a manager to respond and reach out to me. I even emailed the concierge and no response.
Pros: large rooms and bathrooms, novelty of being inside the bass pro shop, view at the top of the pyramid was great, the shuttle driver was nice and prompt
Cons: customer service was lacking, the spa and concierge was not responsive nor did they return calls or emails for booking massages, the restaurants and bars inside the hotel were closed and the only one open was in transition to becoming another restaurant
You have to stay here at least once, its a really cool experience
Our stay was fantastic! The decor of the room, the level of comfort and coziness. The extra touches that make you feel special...I cant say enough...the balcony overlooking Bass Pro...WOW!!!
This is my Birthday week ,First we reserve a room ahead of time ,when we got our room is was not what we reserved. not enough towels, 1 roll of toilet paper ,and no iron and no ironing board cover over ironing board ,something was wrong with one of the beds, mold in shower
, The room had a horrible smell.Dont know if I will ever come back again.,and I would not recommend it to anyone and looking at the reviews I see others have had a bad time.we called and called for towels and iron they finally came 8hrs before we were to leave .
Great hotel....the service though not so great. We left some items in our room on a Saturday night and it is now Tuesday and I have called multiple times and keep getting put through to voicemail. Apparently there is only one person who can locate items that are left and she's been out of work for the past week so who knows where everything is going if something is forgotten. Everytime I've called to try to speak with someone else I was either forwarded to voicemail or hung up on. Lousy, lousy front desk service.
Awesome place to stay at and you can shop till you drop at Bass pro,
I am reviewing the governor's suite. It is a two bedroom with a den, all with their own keyed door. Each bedroom has its own full bathroom, as does the den! Never seen a shower in the den. The bathrooms in the bedrooms are full size, with double sinks, separate jacuzzi tub and shower. The shower is big enough to fit like 8 people! There is a fake fireplace in the bedrooms, a desk, tv, closet, and fridge.
There are high ceilings everywhere. The den "wallpaper" looks like bark. Lots of mounted heads on the walls with antler chandeliers. There is plenty of sitting around a gas fireplace. The dining table sits 8 and is all wooden. The kitchen looks more modern and is big enough to cook if you feel like.
Water and snacks are complementary and are in each bedroom and the den! I thought it was just gonna be in the den. I would definitely recommend this place, especially this room if you feel like spending the money.
This hotel was amazing. The room really feels like you could be in the middle of the woods in a cabin. It has such a homey and cozy vibe, but is also super top of the line. A huge plus is the fact that you have a front porch overlooking the Bass Pro Shop, which doesn t sound like a big deal, but this Bass Pro Shop actually feels like you are outside. There are ponds, bridges, and waterfalls. It was just overall a great experience.
Beautiful place to stay. Food was okay and over priced but the experience and accommodations where amazing. They bring you a cookie at night, which I thought was a great touch.
Hotel was fun and really cool. Awesome for families with kids.
The restaurant in the store (Uncle Buck's Fish Bowl) was very disappointing. It was overpriced and the portions were small and the food was only average.
The view was great, that's all I can tell you, other than it costs 10.00 to go in.
Absolutely love our room and bathroom. Such a cool place
The Big Cypress Spa on the 3rd floor closed its door on October 7, 2018. I am no longer a nail tech at this location. Everyone come see me at Pure Organic Nail Spa @ 2883 Poplar. Or message me on Instagram for an appointment.

Me and my wife stayed here for our 3rd Anniversary and when i tell you it was heaven . I very strongly endorse if ya"ll get a chance to visit Memphis to spend a night or two it will be well worth the money you spend. Also the lodge is not far from downtown Memphis and they have courtesy shuttle that will take you downtown. It stop's running @10:00 p.m. I almost forgot the Bass Pro Shop is actually inside the lodge.
This place is over the top. If you're more of a Motel 6 kind of person like I am and think of Bad Pro Shop as a place to buy fishing take,, you need to experience this at least one in your life.
Nice cool trip. Wish they'd stop pushing blue green vacations on everyone. Big huge scam
