Good ice cream. Decent price. The tour is NOT worth it. On a hot day it is very busy.
Good ice cream. Decent price. The tour is NOT worth it. On a hot day it is very busy.
Fun and pun filled tour. You get to view the real factory floor! Eat a good sized sample.
Always a fun tour, and free ice cream? Sure! Really love learning the history of the company
Even though the tours were closed because of the pandemic we still had fun looking through the flavor graveyard and eating some tasty ice cream. We will definitely be back!
This pace gets busy but there is so much to do you won't mind at all. This is a very kid friendly place for all ages. Take the tour and tasting they are worth the wait!
Busy. Didn't know you had to pay to go through the tour. It seemed your money was the most important thing. Lines everywhere.
Holiday weekend, place was packed. We figured it would be busy, but it was really very busy. They did a decent job managing the crowds. Was able to buy tour ticket quickly. Tours were running every 10 minutes. I dont know if they always run that frequently, after all its Presidents day weekend. The scoop shop was a bit swamped for a while. People waited on line for 20 to 25 minutes to get ice cream. Did I mention that there were a lot of people there. In spite of the crowds, we had a nice time and learned a thing or two about how ice cream is made. It was worth the trip.
Yum! If you're driving by, you gots to stop through
Had a blast! Great flavor of taste testing ice cream S'more, hope to see it in PA one day! Kids enjoyed it very much! Well worth it!
$4 admission gets you in to watch a video, see the factory, and sample the flavor they're offering that day. Went on a weekend when the factory wasn't operating
Ben & Jerry's has some of the best icecream. All their flavors are hard to beat. This being their factory outlet, they serve other flavors that aren't available outside of Vermont. The founders & brand stand for equality & social justice & this is put across in their intro video & posters onsite. Their factory tour was good but short
Excellent ice cream. Not too busy the afternoon we visited.
Coming here was such a great experience. Phish Food in a waffle cone was even better than I expected! Definitely come by the ice cream shop at night so that you can walk through the graveyard afterward.
Long waits and had to park way far away with handicap people
Four bucks just to go into one room with windows showing how they make ice cream. No taste test of the cream or milk or anything before the finished product. One tiny sample of ice cream at the end . Tour guide was very nice though. This rating isn't on him, but just the tour itself and what it consists of.
The entire operation was a great learning experience. Definitely go during the off season; we went during the fall and there was hardly a wait. However, the parking lots are huge, indicating serious traffic during the peak season. At the end of the factory tour you get to taste Ice Cream that isn't released yet...we had Apple Pie. On the other side, they also have a graveyard of Ice Creams you can visit. It's some of the flavors they have discontinued. Thanks for the experience!
My kids love our visits to Ben & Jerry's. Play at the playground, enjoy delicious ice cream and sometimes seeing the cows. They have great merchandise and affordable short tours inside the factory.
Great tour, interesting facts about the company, fun for kids...ohhh and the free sample of ice cream!
Interesting, clean and you get alot for $4 with the tour. Alot of icecream and merch to choose from. If you have children, there is a playground for them
Definitely touristy and long lines to get ice cream and for the tour. $4 for adults for a thirty minute tour that isn't super exciting until the end when you get a small taste of the ice cream. Have to admit it was better than the pints at the stores. So fresh! Have some things to do while you wait for tour though (our wait was over an hour)...graveyard, playground, cows, information around the building, photo opps, etc.
Fun for kids. Quick tours then sit and share ice cream.
Wow this place was insane. The tour is quick. It definitely worth $4. Just know that you will get a sample of whatever flavor of the day is. It was phish food that day. They were cleaning the machines so not a whole lot to see. They don't make all the ice cream at this location. It was insane how many people were there. All waiting inside for their tours to start. They run every 10 minutes. We were in the area and felt this was a must since we were so far away from home.
Very nice tour but could habe done workout the "political" ads in the movie on the tour..
Fun visit. 30 minute tours for $8 (2017 prices), and you get a free sample. Then, if you want more, you can buy some at the shop; of course, they have all the flavors.
Fun stop while in the area. It has grown into a large-scale visitor center. Don't forget to walk up the hill to the ice cream graveyard.
It was good It didn't explain a whole lot how they made it and the tour it's self was short
When I visited the place was overrun, the line to buy ice cream was at least 20 minutes. The wait for a tour was over an hour and the tour is just watch a video for a few minutes, look down at a factory from above, and eat a 2 tablespoon sample of an ice cream. I wouldn't really recommend this place for families with young energetic children.
There are ice cream shops, then there is Ben & Jerry's. A wonderland of cream and delicious flavors. If you are any where near here do yourself a favor and visit. They have the widest selection of flavors you've never seen and a really neat tour.
Very informative tour. The lines were long for ice cream shop and the bathrooms dirty.
Its great Ice Cream...what do you expect? They crank out some serious Ice cream in a small place. Interesting tour for $4.00. Buy a scoop while there for $4.95....yikes, I know...for Ice cream? Quirky guys that served a great cause. Owned by Unilever now...who knew?
Overall, the tour was cool, and well worth the $4 it cost. That being said, the tour was a total of 25 minutes, 7 of which were a silly video about the company's history. Frankly, I found it uninteresting. The Factory itself is much smaller than expected. Ice Cream sample at the end was great. One other point of note, the political views of the company's founders are never far away at this location. I prefer my ice cream free of politics.
Great and informative tour! A quick tour and fun to do with the kids! Plus the ice cream is so good!
Best ice cream on the planet. The cookie dough toppings were unbelievable
You a fan of ice cream? Want to see how it's made? If you're in the neighborhood, this is a good stop. The tour is nothing fancy, a simple video and a very short walk over the production floor, then a small free sample. It's not bad for ~$5. You could always save the $$ and buy a pint of ice cream with it. :)
A fun tour and tasty ice cream. Check out the Flavor Graveyard while you're here!
Iconic ice cream. Tours were prompt and the tour guide was energetic and knowledgeable. The ice cream was delicious, of course. The tour was a little short considering you need to pay for tickets. And overall good experience that kids and adults enjoyed.
Friendly tour guides. Includes short video, overlook of the processing room, and all large sample of ice-cream.
After visiting Smugglers Notch we decided to come here for half a day peace love and ice cream. The great place to learn how Quality Ice Cream is made.
We ended up doing the tour for $3 a person which was interesting and also offered a sample of ice cream at the end. The gift shop had many cute and creative gifts and weren't expensive which was nice.
Of course the ice cream was good. I wish the tour was a little ....more.
Super fun touristy thing to do in the Burlington area! Best $4 I ever spent on a tour. Really interesting and fairly quick tour and history of the company that ends with a free sample. There's a small ice cream shop outside where you can purchase a cone or cup. I am only giving this four stars because I think having a petting zoo with some of the cows who (supposedly) provide the milk for the ice cream and some chickens who (supposedly) lay the eggs in the ice cream would have just been icing on this cake, but really would be a nice, fun addition.
Must visit if in the area for rich, creamy ice cream, and to pay your respects at the flavor graveyard
I finally got the mini vermonster, next time I'm going for the full sized one
This thing was huge so much toppings made it were you couldn't really enjoy the icecream.
Family fun day. What can be better than touring an ice cream factory?
Fun stop at a nice place. Ice cream is very creamy and good. It is however expensive.
Was.cute nothing major you really dont get to see much how they make ice cream
Fun stop to make on your journies. Their history and progress is all over the art on the walls and in their tour. Ice cream is amazing.
Ice cream is always awesome but to be honest, the tour isn't worth the (small amount of) money. You watch a short video you can probably find on Youtube and then look at a bunch of metal cans/tubes. You do get a sample at the end though. Also, we always just buy a pint because it's basically same price as a cone! Definitely worth stopping by nonetheless!
The tour is $4, but Free with Yelp checkin. Plan to wait about 1/2 hour for your tour time. They take in groups of 20 and you climb stairs to a theater where you sit and watch a ten minute video about the history of company. You then climb another set of stairs to see the production facility. The tour guide explains what is happening. You then walk down stairs to get your free sample. That day they served cookie dough and chocolate chip. It's served in a small paper cup and it's about 1/4 cup in size. You can opt for something else if you have an allergy. We went outside and there is a playground up a hill next to the flavors graveyard. They also have booths selling hotdogs, make your own tie dye shirt, spin art, etc.
There is a huge gift shop. The ice cream area is outside and you wait in line for about 10 minutes to be served. The maple walnut flavor is only available here!!! A small is two scoops and is $4.50.
There are many outdoor tables to sit at which is not helpful when it's raining. The restrooms are outside.
Overall it's an okay experience, if in the area.
Tour was lackluster amd short. On the plus it is cheep, only 4 bucks and you get icecream at the end. The rest of the grounds are sort of dirty. They have a playground but is old an splinterery.
Cool tour and delicious ice cream. Cute little gift shop too!
3 stars just because the drive there was beautiful, I went there on a sunday and it was as crowded as expected to be, the tour even though it was a really short tour they finish it with a free sample, (tiny scoop of icecream).
If you are planning a road trip to Vermont just to go there I wouldn't recommend it.
Also the icecream graveyard wasn't that interesting, not that much to see at their factory.
Awesome place. Out back they have a nice kids area for the hyped up kids to play in. Parking can get a little crazy though.
Price for the tour follows the pricing of their ice cream. The sample they provided was small.
Awfully expensive for a mini bite of ice cream. I was expecting a variety of flavors to chose from for the sample. I have been on other food tours around the country, and this one was very disappointing
After the tour you should check out the grounds. There is so much to see.
There are normally long lines. The icecream isn't cheap, but its delicious.
This was so much fun! I felt like I was at Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory. Definitely go on the tour, it was really neat to see how the production happens, and you get a full scoop sample at the end. The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is that our tour guide seemed kind of over it, not very bubbly or enthusiastic. We sprung for the Mini Vermonster, which was so worth it - 4 scoops of whatever you want plus a cookie, brownie, banana, fudge, caramel, dry topping of your choice, whipped cream, and sprinkles. Great to share! There's also lots to keep kids busy - a playground at the back, plus free spin art (and paid tie dying). Great place for adults and children alike!
Fun little tour to do with kids. Can be very busy and crowded.
Fun fun fun. Summer time is very busy here and the factory tours can fill up quickly. Same for purchasing ice cream - the line can be long. But there are other things you can do there.
$4 to have a tour of the factory and small sample of ice cream.
Third of the top five stops on our 13 day New England tour.....
The ice cream here tasted even better than what you get in the store, and we enjoyed the tour as well. Our guide had a great, dry sense of humor and had us all laughing at his puns. The tour gave us a good overview of the ice cream making process and even held our 2.5 year old's attention pretty well. The space is awesome for sitting outside and enjoying some ice cream, with lots of seating options and great views all around. We also loved the playground area for the kids to run off some energy. Highly recommend stopping in if you're even somewhat in the area.
