My Father was admitted into the hospital (ICU) alm...

My Father was admitted into the hospital (ICU) almost 2 weeks ago for an aortic dissection at Banner. His blood pressure was high and they were trying to get it under control. At first they said they were going to have to do open heart surgery then later changed their mind saying that they felt that his chances were better to wait and control his blood pressure. After being in there a few days they noticed he was also having problems with his kidneys and decided to do an ultrasound which they were suppose to do in the morning and didn't end up doing it until the next day in the afternoon and then decided to put a catheter in him and drained almost 2 gallons of urine off of him , it took them over a week to figure this out. and he felt much better besides what was going on with his heart. 2 days after this he started feeling bad again and I personally talked to the Drs and nurses asking them if it was possible that his urine had built back up again, they said he was fine! So a couple days later they moved him out of ICU and just continued to regulate his blood pressure, during this whole time he kept having fevers, they would give him Tylenol and that was it. I asked them why he kept getting a fever and they said they weren't sure. So today they released him from the hospital. With a fever, with back pain, never having addressed his kidney problem, never trying to fix or help with the situation, it has been a week since they had drained all that urine off of him!! Praise God that my Dad is a veteran and so he went to the VA to get his scripts filled , the procedure there is that you have to be seen in the ER to be able to fill your scripts from somewhere else, the drive is only 15 mins apart. And when the VA did his vitals his temp was 101.7, they couldn't believe they had released my dad under these conditions, having a fever and being septic!! This is very serious!! So the VA had him transported by ambulance right back to Banner. I truly pray to a God that no one else has to go through a situation like this with their loved one. I might be in Florida but that will not stop me from getting the best attorney money can buy and holding everyone accountable!!!!! This is clear negligence! You have a vascular team in place there, why ignore such a serious situation!?!

I don t think I can t even begin to explain the incompetence from the staff in this hospital in just one review.

Everyone was extremely rude and then once you complain about the horrible care the retaliation is dangerous. I can only begin to imagine the amount of patients that have died from the negligence that happens in this hospital. I can tell you on two incidences I almost died due to negligence and retaliation. I will be filing formal complaint against the hospital staff. I even checked myself out before I probably should have because I was scared to stay in the hospital any longer.

Even my attorney was concerned with my medical care. After my husband voiced his concerns they decided to not allow me to have any visitors.

I truly believe that a good percentage of the people that died over the last year likely died from negligence and the fact that visitors are only allowed during a short amount of time allows for this to continue.

I would highly suggest to stay far away from this hospital if you have any choice. If you have to stay in the hospital take good record of the medicine that they give you the people that help you and any other interactions you might have. I did find that the traveling nurses caring for me had more compassion and paid more attention to the situation that the regular staff put their patients in.

Everytime I go to this hospital..never a bad experience. Nice staff. In and out as quick and possible. Can't believe only 3 stars on previous experiences. Bad experience at few of top named. Smh

If there were a negative number of stars that would be equivalent to the responseand lack of response I have received from Dr. Blackstone's department. I have been trying to make an appointment since 12/30/19. They did not respond to thr referral made by my GI so eventually I returned calls. I have NEVER been on hold less than 20 minutes. I eventually asked to speak to a manager. He told me he needed to email Dr. Blackstone directly and they would get back to me. Its been three weeks work no response. The person I talked with said she could not locate either of the two referrals thr GI sent. So far I have been on hold for 2 separate conversations for over 20 minutes each. I asked to speak ro someone in charge but they were in a meeting. They would call me back. Still no response. This is lack of efficiency and care is appalling.

My son will have been in the NICU for 73 days. For the most part, his care here was great. A few of the doctors really seemed to care about my son and took the time to speak to me frequently and answer any questions I had (Dr. Haidar, Dr. Rao & Dr. Katirivan). I will say that having a different nurse almost every day/night was super stressful & despite having certain nurses on my preferred list I almost never saw any of the nurses I preferred for my son's care. But, we had a handful of absolutely amazing nurses & I will be forever grateful to these people for the way they took care of my son & made an effort to get to know me and my family (Wendy, Aremy, Laura, Kirsten, Terry & Angie on day shift and Nicole, Amanda and of course, the best nurse in the NICU BENJAMIN on night shift). Christina in speech was amazing & very informative, and Kelly with OT was probably the staff member that made the biggest positive impact on my son & myself during our stay. I'm glad I had my emergency c section here & my son was taken care of in this NICU, him being in such good hands relieved some of the stress that comes with having a child born so prematurely. Thank you!

After waiting several hours for my wife to get called back due to an existing kidney infection that is resistant to antibiotics, chest pains, feeling dizzy, faint , and hard of breathing we were told I, her medical proxy and husband were not allowed back in the emergency room with her. Unless it is absolutely necessary DO NOT GO TO THE EMERGENCY ROOM HERE. When we delivered our daughter here it was an amazing experience, kind friendly staff that actually cares. But after 1 year their staff has become rude, hostile and overall pathetic.

My husband has a surgery set for less than one week from now. Yet the gestapo in the Registration department keeps calling and hounding for payment of $3400 that we need to pay out of pocket. This is not an easy task for us so no we have not paid it yet. We are being threatened that if payment is not paid today that his surgery date will be rescheduled due to the fact that the surgery room has to be paid for two weeks in advance!! This is total BS and it causing unnecessary stress on us on top of trying to come up with these funds for his surgery. Poor poor service from Heather in Registration!!!! Not to mention my husband works for Banner University and this is how he is treated. Disgusting!!

I gave birth to our firstborn here in November. Oh my gosh, we couldn t have had a better experience with the facilities or staff. I reflect on this day often and all the extra joy from that day came from the incredible nurses and doctors in the delivery room. I wish I could have remembered all their names.
My delivery went quick and smooth. I had some students help through the process and it was fun to watch the doctors teach and the students were very respectful. They walked me through the process of an epidural & pushing, so seamlessly and calmed all my fears.

This was also my first hospital stay & overnight stay. The room was great & quiet. My husband sleep on the pull out chair and had no complaints.

Only thing I d change: don t get sucked in to purchasing the hospital newborn photos... they are wayyy expensive and they keep contacting you for months after. I got sucked in... our own taken photos are way better anyway and I haven t been able to get myself off their call list yet.

This place deserves a NEGATIVE amount of stars as well as negative reviews. My husband and I spent 5 hours waiting for him to be seen. When they finally took him back, he spent 4 hours waiting to get an ultrasound. That s a total of 9 hours we spent at this hospital for answers as to what s going on with him. All for them to do a lowsy ultrasound and tell my husband that they don t know what s wrong with him. It is YOUR JOB to figure that out. That is why people come here. WE do not have the knowledge or tools to figure it out for ourselves so we go to professionals hoping they can answer questions. My insurance pays for you to figure it out for me. SO FIGURE IT OUT. Absolutely ridiculous to be discharged with a prescription for pain meds and NO ANSWERS to any questions we had. 9 hours of our lives WASTED.

Worst hospital we have ever been to. Very dirty. Staff not friendly. I had to take my father in for mild heart failure. He is 87 years old and this was the worse hospital stay he has ever experienced. They overcharged him for one extra night. This was almost 3 months ago and still waiting for his refund. Don't recomend to anyone.

Our little girl was in the NICU for two days after birth due to complications. The staff there took such incredible care of her, and us. They ALWAYS made sure we were informed of everything going on. They were kind, patient, knowledgeable, and diligent. I literally have nothing bad to say about this hospital and it s staff. They took incredible care of our little girl. She s happy and healthy now, four months later, and it s all thanks to the strong start she had at Good Sam .

My son just had lung surgery at 7:30am this morning. He was supposed to go to ICU. 9 hours later, I'm still in waiting room. I checked every 2 hours because I'm a very patient person. They moved him without telling me and left me sitting for another hour. I get to his room and he is in excruciating pain and I ask the nurse for help and she doesn't come back for 20 minutes. I ring buzzer and I wait another 10 minutes for a nurse. I'm calling the surgeon and the hospital administrator and then nurse walks in and says they have to order his pain medication from the pharmacy. They have none on the floor because they ran out!! It's been another 10 minutes and nothing! A person in this hospital should not be made to wait an hour for pain medication after a surgery! Do not ever come to this hospital!

Considering the situation I came in I had a wonderful experience. The ER took little time to admit me, and my doctor was called immediately. I was treated good but they took long time to approve my pain medicine, so I was left alone for a moment crying my eyes off. The nurses where amazing helping me to move around cheering me up to get better. After the whole treatment plan I was very confortable, I had to page couple of times the nurses but they were fast to come and see me, obviously there were very busy taking care of everyone in my floor so hire more help. Food was good considering is a hospital and the beds were very comfortable. Clean and peaceful place.

The nurses ignore assistance calls and the restroom hasn't had TP for over 5hrs there is dried urine all over the floor for over 5hrs. The staff is slow and extremely indifferent leaving the patient wondering about the level of care during the stay. This hospital lost the reputation for excellent care that Good Samaritan had . The excessive wait in the er leaves plenty of time for negative comments

I visited Banner University Medical Center for a S...

I visited Banner University Medical Center for a Stress Test on Nov 30, 2018. After the test and a visit to my Cardiologist, I was informed I needed work for heart artery blockages. I was referred to Dr. Preshard at the medical center. My first procedure was scheduled for noon on Dec. 10. We were asked to arrive at 10:00 a.m. for preparation. The procedure was scheduled for noon. I was waiting in pre-op until shortly after 2:30 p.m. During this time we were very close to the nurses station when Dr. Preshad entered and proceeded to chastize and degrade a colleague at the top of his lungs for several minutes in front of nursing staff and patients in the area. Everyone in within ear range was very taken back and disgusted with the unprofessional behavior of this arrogant person. Thirty minutes later the procedure took place and everything went well. It only took about 20 to 30 minutes. I was infomed I needed to return for another procedure on Dec. 13. We arrived at 1:00 for a 3:00 p.m. procedure. I was taken into the OR very quickly. Dr. Preshard and his fellow were in the room during this event. There also was a young female in the room believed to have been a doctor. This procedure took quite a bit longer than the previous time. It lasted approximately 90 minutes. The entire 90 minutes, all the doctors were joking around and laughing very loudly while I was having pain and extremely uncomfortable. This was a very very difficult procedure. It was NOT FUNNY, NOR A JOKE. I am not sure what I would have done if Jason, who was my nurse, had not been there. Thank goodness, he chose to be attentive to the patient. He nor I saw anything amusing. After a few hours in post op I was released to head home with my wife. No doctor ever came in to see me before we left. The next day I did not even recieve a phone call from the hospital at my home as I did after my first visit. Once they have your money or that of your insurance company you are no longer that important. I do appreciate the nursing staff in the cardiac area. Erica was nothing short of an angel on my first visit. And on my second vist I was taken care of by Brenda.

I just went into the ER to be seen because I have had some tummy pains, heart burn, black stool and some other things since Monday and After talking with an online Doctor yesterday about my symptoms he advised me that I needed to go to the ER right away because I could have an ulcer that is bleeding. I'm a single mom and had to find and wait for a baby sitter which didn't happen until this evening. I've been terrified and stressed this whole time even though this morning I didn't have black stool but all the other symptoms are still present and I tried to explain this to the lady at the ER intake and she treated me awful and with zero compassion. After asking me if I was still vomiting (which I'm not ) She said to me "so why are you here? what's your emergency then?" With this blank stare. I was already completely vulnerable and scared...I've never been through anything like this and came to the ER for a piece of mind and to make sure I wasn't bleeding internally. I chose to go to this ER because I was so pleased with how my daughter and I were treated when she was born and continue to be treated by the family practice. However I will never go back to this hospital again and hopefully for other patients sake... This was an off night for this lady people go to the ER for numerous reasons and no matter what they should at least be met with compassion and a positive helpful attitude. I'm extremely put off and disappointed.

I haven't experience any negativity while preparing for surgery all the medical staff from registration to OR and staff. Wonderful and friendly personal and easy talk with. I have them laughing.

One of the absolute worst experiences of my Life. Nurse was cold as ice. Doctor had zero bed-side manner. Tech who put stitches in my lip laughed and giggled and joked while he was threading, including administering the anesthetic. Then to boot, the staff kicked me out at three in the morning knowing they were putting me out in the street at 3:00 am. And no ride arranged. With about five security guys and a K9 officer from PHX PD.

Hello Everyone, for anyone seeking advice on their...

Hello Everyone, for anyone seeking advice on their mental health I would say stop and think about it. This hospital cannot treat mental health of any serious type. They will lie to you to get you to come in, then hold you against your will. Then they will tell you when they do decide to let you go they cannot treat you because they don't actually have anyone capable and or qualified to treat severe mental health. When seeking out mental health support I would look at Napa Auto parts or your local Maricopa Library first. The employees are more qualified and they won't lock you up for 24 hours or more just to tell you they don't actually have anyone on staff to help you past holding you against your will until the last 4 hours of your stay. If you want someone to be detained unreasonably and without proper assessment, this is your jam. Maybe you just don't like someone, this is also your jam.

P.S. Banner is great at saying they will take your issue offline and they value your input. In reality their social media damage control is much better than their awful service. Don't be wowed they say they can copy and paste they value your input...they do not in any way. If you care about you or your family enough to not take them to this location because they are not equipped in anyway to handle your issues please like this post so Banner knows.

I was at their ER and they were excellent!! I needed stitches from a fall that night and an Intern took my information, his supervising doctor came in to assess the information he'd relayed and agreed that I would need stitches. When that time came, the supervising doctor asked if I cared if he used this time as a teachable moment. I appreciated him asking and I'm always willing for someone to learn from my experiences!! Great work Doctors!!

This is the absolute WORST place I've been to for pregnancy!! They "lost" my blood work for the genetic testing i had done in December but I was never notified until I went in for my next appointment a month later. Also the doctors are unprofessional and unorganized. There is no communication with their staff.

Worst patient care ever! My mother was a patient here and was treated very poorly even as she was yelling in pain there seemed to be no urgency in the staff to help her. Wish I could put no stars because the nurses in the observation were by far the worst nurses of the whole hospital. For the sake of your patient improve your staffing

In the ER for 12 hours until my mom was seen. Here it is the next day and she's still in the same room I left her in. Really. This place is going to the pot.
New building, new ER and crappy service, nurses are rude and the manager on duty was also sooooo rude.

My grandfather was in ICU, and he was moved there ...

My grandfather was in ICU, and he was moved there to be watched "closely" because he was declining. My cousin stayed there with him, never left his side so she knew what was going on with him and how he was being treated. Our experience there was good until we met that one nurse that was just horrible towards my family. She had an attitude, with not only my cousin but my mom as well. She was also listening in on a conversation, interupting asking "Is there a problem?" When there clearly was. Another thing, my grandfather was yelling out, screaming loud enough that I'm sure the whole hospital could hear and no one came until my mom went out and asked for a nurse. Another complaint, my grandfathers urine bag was full!Completely full and had not been changed until my cousin asked the nurse to dump it.And what we were told is "it's fine, it won't go back up" like were idiots. We were also told "Well we have other patients as well" Which we totally understand but isn't that why he was sent to ICU?No one had checked on him for about 4 hours and when they did, he was not responsive. And he started declining again. someones life is basically in your hands and we are trusting in the staff to take care of him and protect him, and if nurse Danielle Cast can't do her job then she shouldn't be working at Good Sam. I spoke with another nurse and her response to our complaint was "Well what did you do?" We understand that nurses are under a lot of pressure and are thankful for them but our family member whom we love very much is fighting for his life. Dealing with that, we do not need to deal with a negative nurse as well. When I requested a new nurse, I did let Danielle know we were, her response was "Thats fine!I don't wana work with rude people either." With a sarcastic laugh behind it. A Dr came out "defending" his nurses actions and attacking my family, also not giving us anymore info until "person in charge" came, which is my grandmother. I guess its all about the nurses and doctors at Good Sam and not their patients. I spoke up for my family because my grandfather is to sick to defend himself. But they did give us another nurse, Phillip who is a very sweet, genuine, caring nurse. He settled my whole families worries.

I went in for a hip replacement at the age of 57 and in great health except for my degenerated hip. I contracted an infection and subsequently had to have 4 additional hip replacements. This is a terrible health institution. I believe it is outdated and the surgical suites pale in comparison to the original hospital I had my other hip replacement performed. By the way if you don't believe me just pretend you need to get your hospital records and go in there and ride the elevator down to the basement and follow the signs to to the records department and look around you will see what it is like to be in a third world country! Seriously it is disgusting. The rooms are small and the AC is sparse and is just a motel 6 environment and the nursing staff just are not in a service paradigm in any way shape or form. Stay away from this hospital PLEASE. Oh yeah this has nothing to do with me being a Chiropractor it has to do with me being a human being who suffered for over 3 years and enduring four surgeries due to infection and by the way I went to a different hospital for my 3rd & 4th surgeries and guess what no infection!!! The 3rd was antibiotic temporary hip and 4th final hip.

Horrible the worst the staff has no compaction the error buttons didn't work when you needed a nurse seen and heard more than one person yelling for help going to restrooms witch ended up to having clean up in rooms from lack of assistance but the worst ever is whe I got put in observation room and had to go to a community bathroom which vomit on floor and pee all over floor but it's gets worst hadn't had anything for about a day to eat or drink ask for ice daughter was told didn't have any she had to go purchase ice from cafeteria the nurses I seen maybe every 3 hrs if lucky the neurologist was the worst called my Dr's that I see on a regular basis quacks and that they miss diagnosed me and he was the man on the block Thier and knew better..that I didn't have what they said I had ..warning don't go here......the staff was horrible run go to another hospital ..these people only care about billing you taking money ..not people I've read post after post and believe me it's the worst in a.z..

Staff is extremely rude and not helpful at all. The E.R. Wait times are super slow and they do not give or have clear signage to inform patients that one side of the waiting area is for suspected Covid patients. I most definitely wouldn t recommend this hospital for any kind of services!!!

Very bad quality of care, and will NEVER go back to this hospital or refer anyone else to them.
I went in for chest pains and they didn't even following protocol. Would not release me, from ER to Observation, the nurse down there didn't even know why, they had no orders for me so they call the ER doctor on call to release me and he said don't know the patient so he wouldn't release me.
I went to my own cardiologist and he look at the one EKG they said was abnormal and he said that it wasn't anything to worry about, know $4,000 in debt and I even ask about my benefit and the girl said I would only have to pay by co-payment, NOPE

This was the worst experience of my life. I had a bad migraine And my migraine med was not working so the Doctor told me to wait and get a hold of my Nero to to take care of it.Epilepsy on top of that. Than I have factor 7 and was bleeding from my nose and the doctor would not cartorize the area that had been bleeding on both sides for a day and a half. I also have Rheumatoid arthritis with a compramized immune system so I had several infections. Sinus infection, thrush infection yeast infection, bellybutton infection from a past surgery. And when she pushed on my side I jumped off the table. All has been going on since February. I have lost 50 pounds. She didn't take any labs or do any ct scans or ultra sounds. She did see if I could see if I could keep water down. I kept a small amount down. Not three glasses like she wanted. Not even half of one. Then she sent the nurse in to discharge me and the nurse apologized profusely. She wanted to help me but said there was nothing she could do. I'm not a Doctor but I don't need to be to know she is in incompetent and her nurse knew it too. I won't go here again. Something needs to be done. I have looked at a lot of your reviews. Its not enough to apologize and send an Email to God knows who. What is you process after? You have all these bad reviews and nothing has changed. Make these Doctors accountable for their actions. Because one day someone with as serious disabilities like mine are going to end up really sick or worse. Pretty sad

People here are really rude , in the surgery waiting area, instead of working, they be talking with each other, instead of paying attention to the patients, my friend pager went off, because her doctor was ready for her to come back, we were waiting at the front desk and 3 workers there was so into their conversation, that I'm sure probably didn't pertain to work, when I said excuse me , they started rolling their eyes, guess I interrupted the good part, the lady finally asked was my friend the one she came for. It's okay to socialize but not when you should be working, and its no need for the eye rolling. Do your job!!!

A totally ripoff place

A totally ripoff place
They will literally charge you arm and leg.
Don't be fooled by the word University as in some cities it indicates that the hospital is cheaper. This place is expensive.
Choose urgent care, next care or an specialist doctor or a regular doctor or test at any laboratory or get the pharmacist assistance on your own if all possible.

Trust me you will save tons of money even if you use the highest quality of all the above mentioned services together you will pay no more than half of what this place will charge you.

Truthfully, my recent experience with this place has opened my eyes and gave me no choice but to reconsider my mindset about the lenders, car dealers, brokers, lawyers, realtors, even hedge fund managers and all the others that we as a society generally consider as greedy.
But perhaps the above mentioned groups do deserve some respect after all because at least they are more honest about who they are and what they stand for vs those in for example healthcare industry that we respect simply because we thought they were genuinely more caring but in reality many of them are even more greedy than those with the bad reputation.

Respond to Banner owner;
Your pretentious sorrow doesn't work with me as I already talked to related people in your hospital without their care for reconsideration.

Your hospital prices for services would not be there without your allowance &/or demand in the first place.

Menendez, Dr. Dick, the nuero stroke team, the respiratory staff, I'm sure I'm forgetting some were absolutely amazing. Treating us very well in a very dark time. Dear people of mine ,,

Dear people of mine ,,

So ,I am so ready to go home...this is one of my favorite hospitals
Since 1992. Dr.tratenburg saved my life here and wa my Doctor for years ..now again I find myself under the care of DR.BURROU..a face surgeon all is great to perfection ..but as you know it takes one person to mess it all up ..so for the second time I ran out of toilet paper
And yes I pulled the string ...first time all good ..today it is 8am 8/28/2020 the person who answered my string call was rude .unsafe..I have a life threatening infection and she brings me a used role of toilet paper and I said ,,"it's used"she said no it's not..though it was halfway gone ..she also said their is no toilet paper ,I'll bring a wash cloth ..he did not she stuck me with a t.p someone else used ..
My bathroom should never be without toilet paper. She yells back at me to tell me ..yes yes I'll let your nurse know ...now I pride myself in my reviews and I know the CEO will take care of this problem he usually does ..Thanks to the rest of the staff attendening me here in tower 1 room 681 especially nurse NICOLE HER PERFESSIONALISM, ,STRAIGHT TO THE POINT, . Thank you to all the other staff Doctor's and all .

I drove 4 hours from the Eastern side of the State...

I drove 4 hours from the Eastern side of the State of Arizona to come down to Banner University which is rated number two in Arizona which is a beautiful thing. Once I got here I was told that was not going to be allowed to see my wife who who is to get surgery for an ulcerated tumor that's giving her complications one day ago my wife was tested for coved-19 and came back negative for ever having. I am told the only way that I will see my wife if she dying and that is determined after they make that decision and pull the plug on her not me. We only get one hour with our dying family member. That is after they pull the plug ,what happened to the family support system what happened to the mental health of the patient and the family members. What concerns me is that they have staff that come and go out of that building just like you and I they go out they go to restaurant they go to bars the intermingle with people they take just as much risk as anybody else with this pandemic yes they are trained and know how to make sure that they are using proper infection control procedures now I feel the word discernment is needed here because you have family members who work in the medical field who have worked in the medical field who understand how dangerous is pandemic is but to deny a family member the right to hold their dying wife's hand is so wrong. I feel that this creates an issue of mental health concern that goes spread I feel that we need to look at this issue a lot closer because our numbers in Arizona are going down yes but if somebody's tested negative on covid-19 I feel that this issue about seeing dying family members needs to change because it's going to create a lot more issues for people in the future how would they feel if their family member was in an ICU unit and they could not hold their hand and they died what would that make you feel I'm asking everybody out there to stand up and tell them give us the right of dignity give the patient the right of dignity to die with their family near them if it's just one person husband a wife apparent just one person is fine but nobody until they die is wrong

So I have been taking Adderall for nine years and I decided to take myself off of the medication for the first time so if anybody knows anything about it it s not a great idea nevertheless my doctor was not in the office I was unable to make an appointment so I live in the Arcadia District so my spouse drove me to Banner University being the closest. I arrived at the emergency room entered my name and demographics into their iPad system with zero greeting from any of the staff and proceeded to sit down. About 20 minutes later my name was called and I sat in a isolation room for 20 minutes till a doctor came in. I explained my concerns over feeling horrible and feeling of death but not suicidal In any way also ringing in my ears and possible sinus infection. The doctor looked in my ears stated I had a film on one of my eardrums and left the room. 30 minutes later I get transferred to a holding area run by 2 apparent RN s. 3 hours later I asked what was going on with my care and I was told we are waiting for A crisis team to Skype and meet with me on an iPad. Apparently there is no one qualified in crisIs intervention to meet with me one on one. 25 minutes later I was escorted into a room and talked to a woman that was not an RN nor a doctor via an iPad and still none of my concerns were even addressed it seemed like they were trying to fish to hold me for an extended amount of time. I was escorted back to the holding area where I sat for another two hours with no interaction from the ED or nursing staff. I politely went up to the nursing staff and I asked to sign myself out of the facility. 30 minutes later the doctor that I met with originally in the ED walked in and she proceeded to tell me that I could follow up with an ENT doctor. What a waste of time, medical staff, insurance scamming I can t believe it that hospital is even afloat and practices healthcare. As big as that hospital is not one person is trained in crisis or behavioral health is outlandish and saddening with the demographics that surrounds the hospital I wouldn t Recommend nor go back to that hospital for any reason whatsoever I am a former paramedic for over 10 years and I ve never seen such a poorly run hospital in my life

The nurses in the delivery room were great. The accommodations for fathers in the room was the worst I've ever seen. It was a foldout cot with two springs missing. This is one of the only hospitals that doesn't have a couch/fold out bed for visiting family members. Rated second in Phoenix, which was a surprise to me because the accommodations were pretty old. And I was told by my daughter that the bed that she was provided was very uncomfortable. For the cost of having a baby, and being that the Trump administration has stated that being a woman is a pre-existing condition, hospitals need to update their services in their maternity wards. it takes approximately 10 to 15 minutes once you've push the help button for someone to come assist you. There's no refrigerator in the room, But there are several restaurants around the facility. It seems as though staff has an issue.it would probably be a good idea to have iPads in every room so the mothers can keep track of what's going on with the baby since the staff cannot.

My fiance and myself were extremely EXTREMELY happy with the quality of care she recieved. The nurses were amazing, the ER was fluid. The units we were in all amazing the doctors the ideas working all together. From the ER to her later same day operation hours later. Everything in between the nurses and anyone who was involved in her care. All kind patient relaxed and professional. This is the kind of hospital where I believe The cream of the crop doctors and medical staff are molded. This is why I am so happy to see that this is a university hospital. To have such an asset in our community is such a blessing.

Thanks so very much!

Banner sent my mom home with a vertigo diagnosis and Zofran and after we went to St Joseph s hospital after going to Banner s ER twice in a week, St Joseph s discovered some brain lesions. Horrible place and it s scary how much they don t care about their patients. Thankfully my mom was well taken care of at St Joseph s. I m forever grateful. Never going back to any Banner hospital again!

Thank you Dr Kumar for saving my life. I love the care given by Banner starting with Dr Kumar all the way to the wonderful staff. The nursing care was excellent & I want to personally thank nurses Chloe & Kelly in ICU for the great care they gave. Each one checked on me constantly, all my needs were met quickly. If I had one complaint it would be the food. I m a retired nurse & I understand how many patients need to eat & how difficult it is to get things out on time. My dinner was ordered around 1400, I had not eaten for over 24 hours. It was 1900 when I got my tray. Breakfast came at 0945, I couldn t eat my over easy eggs because they were cold & I couldn t cut them. I couldn t eat the toast because it was not edible. Nursing was wonderful, thank you all again for the great job.

I want to mention first off I have never written a review on anything, this tops the cake for me.This was absolutely the worst possible ER visit I have ever had. First they took my vitals and put me in a bed immediately. I had a paramedic that literally said he was on his first week on the floor, and stuck me with an IV, ouch that hurt! Then after receiving morphine for my pain and meeting with a physicians assistant (not a doc) they stuck me in a holding area with a bunch of sick people with IVs. I encourage people to not go to this hospital as it is a disgrace and they should be embarrassed. The nurse on staff had told me they would lose their funding from the government and that's how they have it set up, so they have to check you in and see you as within 30 minutes to receive their funding. Absolutely ridiculous. Sticking people that Ill in chairs is just insanity.

I had the most horrific experience of my life at t...

I had the most horrific experience of my life at this hospital within these last two days. My first visit, one doctor told me that I might have a rare auto immune disease.. It was devestating and thats literally all he went over with me. A family member of mine in the medical field went through my paper work and labs to find out that my blood work showed potential kidney failure and it was never discussed in the hospital with the doctor at all as I as I was told my blood work was fine. Not only that, this doctor was relieved from their shift and the next doctor didn't bother to read over the chart before entering the room. This means she basically told me the exact opposite of what the last doctor did, when I brought up my confusion she could care less and just wanted me to go home. I came back a day later in a lot of pain hoping to figure out what was wrong with me. I had my baby with me and long story short I was told by a charge nurse that my baby could not go back with me and to leave her in the lobby, when I asked why she snapped on me big time... I asked her kindly to have someone else escort me and my baby to the room because I felt disrespected and she screamed, yelled and made a scene embaressing me in front of many sick people, nurses, aids and doctors. In hopes of getting help I directly asked a different nurse to please call someone else to help me because this woman was irate and angry.. That specific nurse laughed in my face and told the irate nurse to take me back anyways. I felt like I was in jail being demanded and pushed around by mean oficers. The nurses at the station proceeded to gossip about me and giggle on the side.. I kindly asked for the charge nurses supervisor and I was met with someone who faked that he was a supervisor, asked him to please have her come explain why I was demanded to leave my 7 month old alone in a emergency room and she completely flipped the script on me saying I was angry and irate and that is why she disrespected me. I was blown away and asked her why she would lie in front of her own supervisor.. Well come to find out he wasn't one and he was covering for her, he continued to cut me off while speaking, he allowed her to get in my face, she out her finger out and told me to stop talking a couple of times and I was deemed crazy. Shortly after that I asked for someone to please help me because I was being ganged up on by the nurse and her false supervisor.. Well an aid came into the room rambling about how they tried apologizing for what they did to me and i needed to let it go. I had never seen this woman in my life so I asked her what she had anything to do with the incident. She proceeded to tell me I was pulling the race card, I asked her what she was talking about and she says "oh yea i know all about it!" I said " i never once brought up race.." She then proceeds to say "you know what I dont know anything!" I asked "then why are you attacking me?" She throws her hands in the air saying "you know what you're outta here!!!" They discharge me, give me botched, un stamped fake discharge papers ... And as I am walking out the nursed have moved to the front of the er to gossip and relay information.. They literally laughed me out of the door. I had the worst day of my life.... And they're not going to get away with it. Please do not ever come to this hospital!

My 72yr old mother has been transferred here from casa grande banner after being in waiting room for 7 hours, she then waited another 4 hours to be transferred for a bleed in her head her speech is slurred, face numb, bad headache. She has been here since sat night and today is Monday. She is still waiting for MRI because cardiologist just gave the ok this am. But now they are to busy and booked so she won't even have an MRI until tomorrow. This is in my opinion the worst hospital experience we have had yet and we have had allot of experience being in hospitals!

Do not like this hospital. Their bedside manner is terrible. My mother was a patient and it was a terrible experience. Most of the staff is unprofessional. ER was the only upside of her stay. Very kind.

I was transported from Yavapai Regional in Prescott to Banner as a result of an aortic problem that was found by Dr.William Resnick in the trauma center at Yavapai Regional. As soon as I begin to meet staff at Banner I knew I was in good hands and that everything was going to be okay.Dr.Jeromy Brink came up and explained what would take place. This was my first surgery and I'm 74 years old so naturally I was a bit concerned.Everything went as planned and before I knew it I was back in my room.I. cannot even begin to tell you about all of the great staff who took care of me nurses.nursing assistants, physical therapy, food services, technicians, chaplin, case management.....everyone went above and beyond my expectations. All I can say is "Thank You Banner People,I'll never forget what you did for me,you are the best" Respectfully,Bob Lally.

I recommend the majority of front-desk staff be retrained on how/where to direct visitors in a tone that is both polite, professional and accurate.

As first-point of contact, it's unnerving to witness the lack of knowledge and compassion some of the employees have for visitors who wish to show their support for loved ones under the care of Banner.

Donna Thompson, you are a prime example of someone who could benefit from further training from your peers who perform their job competently, and without the nasty attitude you showed my sister and I upon our visit to the NICU. I sincerely hope you and your supervisors take this feedback as a genuine plead for change in the way that you engage with others.

As for the staffs working there its good. I have been to that hospital once. Good at infrastructure. But the negative thing is that they take money for parking from the visitors , which is kind of rude.

Amazing staff!!! Just had my daughter in that hospital. My nurses and doctors where very caring and polite! They where on top of everything and always on my attention. I recommend this hospital and would totally go back in a heart beat, if I every have another baby again.

I would recommend this hospital for its neurological unit & ICU. Every staff member I encountered was super friendly, helpful & knowledgeable. My mom had 2 back surgeries, the 2nd not going as smoothly as the 1st but she pulled through.
The entire campus is well maintained & kept & they were in the process of many improvements mid April when we were there.
I ate there several times & was quite impressed with how much they offer in the cafeteria as well as quality & freshness. I dared to consume a pre-made egg salad sandwich & was pleasantly surprised. They carefully & intelligently pack these sandwiches, so no sogginess! And while the egg salad was a lil bland & could use a lil seasoning, it was not bad & definitely fresh. They offer vegetarian options. The 2 bean tostada meal is a great deal & enough to share with another person.
Gift shop has a lot of cute stuff & of course it's overpriced but all proceeds go to the hospital so that's good.
I also noticed it seems like this campus is aware that sometimes people have to wait around hospitals for extended periods of time & there is lots of confortable seating throughout the hospital as well as within the patients rooms.
This campus is conveniently located & easy to get to.
I really have no complaints about this hospital.
If you enjoyed this review or found it helpful, PLEASE, give it a LIKE!

I went here because this place was recommended by someone. Unfortunately my doctor won't see me until the end of the month and my osteoblastic lesions on my spine have been giving me horrible back pain. Well short story.... I was never seen. Waited in the waiting room for 2 hours after that I was so uncomfortable from sitting in the chairs I had to go home and ice my back. I will never try to be seen here again.

Banner university is a horrible place I was sent from another hospital for surgery and they wrapped me up and sent me home and charged me for stuff I didn t receive I denied Ladacane shots because I had them at the first hospital and they didn t do anything but they still charged me for them when I contacted them they said I did get them when they cleaned my fingers that were ripped off and only attached by skin. Pretty sure I know what I got but i guess if they bring it in the room your paying for it so beware. And yes the sent me home with my fingers 1/2 ripped off and said to contact a surgeon within a week when every other doctor said I needed surgery immediately and it should not have waited but they are not wrong go figure. Just beware don t use this hospital or you will get screwed over like I did.

This is a terrible place to have a baby my girlfriend delivered our five month old premature son and got sent home within hours of that same day they also tried to send our son home who was 4lbs within the same day. They also only ran tests on our child but barely ran any tests on my girlfriend stay away from this place they don t know what they re doing!

If I could rate ZERO stars I would... This "Hospital" is a joke! They sent my husband home stating they did every test they could and could find nothing wrong with him at all. Meanwhile WE WATCHED while his full urine cup sat at the nurse's station the entire time! It was NEVER tested! Oh but I'm SURE his insurance will be charged for all kinds of urine tests! Thank God we did NOT listen to them. Instead I took him to Mayo where they took him in IMMEDIATELY and confirmed the life threatening infection! They admitted him and now he's on heavy IV antibiotics and has to stay for possible surgery. Un-effing-believable!! I'm beyond livid at the way this "Hospital" treated this man. The staff needs to be re-trained in how to spot a true "drug seeker ". SHAME ON THEM for treating every single person who walks into their "Hospital" like a junkie!! Personally I think it's just another excuse for being lazy and not really wanting to work. They'd rather stand around gossiping, assuming and judging! Hopefully once my husband is feeling better we'll look into legal options, but for now Thank God for the Mayo Clinic and for listening to your gut! ZERO thanks to this ridiculous excuse for a "Hosptial".
