Fantastic Surgeon. Dr. Kumar.... Nurses were understanding, compassionate, and went above and beyond their position. Thank you...... I was so glad to see my family and friends could shop and eat there

While it is apparent that Banner has invested precious resources and time in the re-branding of this institution, it is as useless as my botched procedure when the hospital is not staffed with professionals, who are experts in their fields and whose competency is insured.

If you have an EMERGENCY, do NOT go here. I had a friend that was completely unconscious with alcohol poisoning... none responsive... not a single sole in the waiting room and 40 minutes later still waiting while the hospital staff was just sitting there with nothing to do. I eventually had to leave to go to another hospital.

At Babymoon, you are treated like a PERSON, by EVERY.SINGLE staff member you come into contact with. EVERY.TIME. They all learn your name, greet you, smile at you, and coo at your baby when you come back to visit for your postpartum care.

After the 4.5 hours in the emergency area writhing in pain I finally see a Dr. This hospital is THE WORST!!!! 1 minute they r nice the next minute I was treated horrifically!especially by Dr. ANEESH NARANG! he proceeded to lie 3X's to me.
after taking an hour to get a blanket he proceeded to yell FENTINOL twice and gave me NOTHING. Then i receive 2 tylenols or something. NO PAIN RELIEF. AFTER ANOTHER 2 HOURS HE SAYS I CAN GO HOME, BUT i NEED A RIDE BECAUSE OF ALL THE PAIN MEDICATION I RECEIVED. LOL I GET MY BOYFRIEND ON HIS WAY & I REALIZE THAT i HAD NEVER RECEIVED ANY PAIN MEDICATION. i HAD TO WAIT ENDLESSLY TO GO TO THE BATHROOM. I am leaving. I walk slowly ( mind you I just endured 2 operations so I am walking slowly i believe through 2 or 3 doors into the parking lot got into my truck and left. REALLY I believe that if I had received the medication he said (lied about) I would NOT be allowed to leave on my own. In fact I know this because when I left earlier they made sure I had a ride. He had to come into the hospital to pick me up These Dr's and his nurses assumed I was an opiate addict. Lied to me. treated me rudely and abruptly. I am definitely putting a grievance in about this
DO NOT GO TO THIS HOSPITAL!!!!
Banner has done NOTHING NOTHING AT ALL!

May 4,2019 Banner contacted me on my e-mail asking for my phone # gave my number to Banner on April 26,2019.? still have NOT heard a word!!! Obviously Banner does NOT care, just as their NOT caring on March 29, 2019!

Good Samaritan Hospital is a JOKE!! The name certainly does NOT reflect this dump. Where or what do i do next? Ignore me HOW DARE YOU , I cannot be the only patient this has been to.
Whatever it takes to get to the top of this food chain I WILL DO! you are #1 HATED hospital in Phoenix. And then to ignore how a former patient has been treated unjustly. Your lack of any concern's or contact says it ALL.

If you are reading these reviews to decide weather or not to seek help at this hospital(term used very loosely) I recommend you read the negative ones very carefully. Because those horror stories are exactly what you can expect from this hospital and it's staff. I am not a doctor and I'm not one of those people who assumes that 5 minutes of internet research can replace a decade of dedication and schooling. But i am human i do know what compassion is. I can tell when it is absent. There is a rather large disconnect between caring for patients and helping them get well, and the staff of this place. Honestly I have no idea how anyone on staff at this hospital (if you can call it that) sleeps at night, or even looks themselves in the mirror. If any of them actually think they are doctors or nurses then they are simply mistaken. I'm not going to detail what I've seen here because it isn't necessary. Read any other negative review and you'll get a taste for what you can expect. If you wish to add insult to your injury and a rather large Bill too. Then this is the place for you. If you seek actual help for any reason, I would suggest seeking that help anywhere else that DOES NOT have the word "Banner" on the sign. I might even consider seeking help from a death row inmate before I ever would consider going to this place. You take your life into your own hands the minute you step foot in this place.

The fact that there are positive reviews about this place is utterly dumbfounding to me. Either those reviews are written by people with some form of financial interest in this place or maybe the staff themselves. The Only other plausible explanation might be that there could be 1 staff member that may actually try to do their job and help people. But honestly that seems like a very long shot.

I assure you, you will not experience anything that is even remotely close to something that might resemble care or treatment here. That is just a fact unfortunately.

Sadly if you end up at this hospital but some unfortunate turn of luck. You really should just have someone hit you over the head with a 9 iron, and save u the co-pay.

My girlfriend was admitted into the ER because of a serious infection in her mouth. Waiting for a doctor to drain it. Sitting here for 9 hours and nothing.

They expect to be paid and for people to be patient after waiting for 9 hours.

Also the staff gets extremely defensive when a patient who has been waiting for 9 hours is upset and is asking for information.

We checked in at 4pm and it's currently 1am.

The information they provided was that the ortho Doctor has to service the whole hosiptial. ITS 1AM. What whole hosiptial?

The ER waiting room is empty. The patient continued care lobby is empty. What is the delay?

Horribly unprofessional.

If I would have known this was going to take 9 hours I could have flown to another state,
been treated flown back in the same amount of time.

Years ago this hospital took care of my Father, poor care they never offered a shower, or food. We were there with him 24 hrs a day for 8 days ! Unfortunately my Father Passed away. Now today we have a loved one in the hospital and it s been a week and she is alert, young and is receiving the same care. She has fallen too many times and it s when no family is in hospital because of Covid Rules. The staff is inadequate and uneducated on morals and Grace. I m telling you to not bring a loved one here! You have rights, we are not the coddle kind of family or wine bags, but to just flat out refuse to do your super hero job is neglectful. I can only imagine what happened the last yr in these hospitals while visitors we not aloud in. Makes one think.

This hospital used to be a decent place, now not so much. I care in today with extreme abdominal pain and was ignored, waited over 2 hours and nothing. Individuals with the sniffles were going back before other individuals who need to be seen faster; they have no compassion and like to see there patients suffer. The new ER is worse than the old one. Retrain your staff, they are a joke.

I was admitted here over a year ago and I was treated very rude and this had always been my preferred hospital. I once stayed a month here when I broke my neck. I was basically throw out after arriving via an ambulance. I was in extreme pain. I don't know what their problem was but I'll never go back.

I spent 3 days in the women's specialty unit recovering from a surgery performed in a different hospital. Doctor Brock Jackson, Doctor Kliner and every single person that helped me was phenomenal. They took such good care of me and made sure that I was healthy before I was sent home. Also the hummus is amazing:) the only thing was for my mom to sleep there with me the cot wasn't perfect but it was still so much better than a chair!

I have had the worst experience of my life. I go to Banner Heart in Mesa but while in Heart, I had to be transferred to Banner University. I have been waiting for a bed for more than 24 hourS. I may need a open heart as I have 100% blockage. Banner heart has been calling but Banner Univerity tell them they don t have a bed. If this is the wait time for getting a bed, what will happen if I needed the transplant. I may die as my heart will get worse. I hope to hear back, I am typing this from my room in Banner Heart

Terrible pain management. Got transferred here from Flagstaff with a history of 1.5 yrs of aseptic meningitis. Went to my local hospital and was transferred here. They aren t even giving me as much pain medicine as I take at home for my chronic meningitis. Highly do not recommend this hospital if you have a pain issue. Even after contacting my Palliative/ Hospice Medicine providers I see monthly, they did not increase my meds. This place is a nightmare if you re in pain.

I can start off by saying I had a bad and very uncomfortable experience here, until the last few hours before I was discharged..... I was transferred HERE TO Banner - University Medical Center Phoenix FROM Banner Estrella Medical where there too i had a very poor experience. I got transferred here to Banner - University Medical Center Phoenix to have a surgeon fix me up. for a really bad laceration to my ear, where my ear was barely still attached to my face. I did not receive no medical attention whatsoever for over an hour, until I asked to be discharged so I could go to another hospital not affiliated with banner to receive treatment. I was ignored about my pain, I was told a doctor would see me soon more than once, which didn't happen until I asked to be discharged, in which right away a doctor came in and did not bother to check me but instead ordered the nurse to give me morphine.I was much more uncomfortable and afraid after that, Due to hearing staff right outside of my room laughing While making jokes of other patients! After a few hours of laying there alone and uncomfortable a Surgeon by the name of "king Tyler Robert" came in the room and that's when the uncomfortable feeling turned to a feeling of confidence! I never had to experience treatment from a surgeon but I have to say this first surgeon experience I had was the BEST, after him checking my ear and explaining what/why and how the procedure was going to be done, I finally felt comfortable with the treatment I was about to receive from this surgeon, the close to 2 hours if not more of fixing/stitching and reconstructing of my ear was non stop conversation, laughter and confidence! Which also took away from the feeling of my pain, he was polite, confident, caring, gentle, and everything else with verry much more u would expect in a doctor/surgeon/medical specialist. He is very good at what he does and does it well. From the very bad condition my ear was in, I did not expect for it to ever look the same as it did before. But I have to say Surgeon "KING" is an expert at his job and after he finished my ear I was amazed by how much my ear was 99.9% put back together and looking normal again. I thank you KING again very much for the treatment, comfort, caring, amazing job you did on me. I hope this review gets to the right person/people in charge of this medical facility so they can be aware and hopefully find a solution, so situations like this don't happen to others. Not only to review patient's experiences for the good/bad, but to Also recognize and give appreciation to the certain Doctors, Nurse's, Surgeon's, or Medical Staff who impact their patient's with a great unforgettable experience/treatment. Such as Surgeon king Tyler Robert for what he does and how great he does it! King, thank You, they are truly blessed to have you as one of their surgeons. I have to say any future patient's would be blessed to have u as their surgeon aswell.

I have had an absolutely terrible experience deali...

I have had an absolutely terrible experience dealing with the billing department at Banner University. My due date for my son was in April 2019 so in March 2019 I called Banner to pre register for his delivery- providing all my insurance information as well as my personal information during the phone call. I also pre paid close to $1000 for the delivery (the representative I spoke with estimated this would be the portion I d be responsible for after insurance coverage).

My son was born in April as expected.

In the last two days I have received calls from two different collection agencies regarding his birth (one from the hospital and one from the anesthesiologist who administered my epidural). I was completely appalled as I never received a bill/phone call/ email or ANYTHING regarding a balance due. As someone who has never even made a late payment to a creditor this was shocking to me. Both debt collection agencies read the address they had listed for me and it was wrong (being sent to 56th pl instead of 55th pl).

I called Banner s billing department and they confirmed that not only did they have my address listed incorrectly- they had also disseminated the wrong address to all providers who provided care during my hospital stay. The representative I spoke with Tino R (he refused to provide his last name) indicated on the recorded call that it was a clerical error on Banners part and he would submit a request to have to it recalled from collections. He also indicated he had updated my address in the system but there was nothing he could do about all the other providers who had been given the wrong address (and I m now in collections for). He also said he couldn t provide with me with their names so that I could call to attempt to rectify this huge mess, created by careless employees of Banner. He further indicated that Banner had received returned mail when attempting to send mail to my wrong address. I asked to be provided an email from him or Banner summarizing our conversation and indicating what he had done to correct the situation and he refused. I was extremely disappointed with the lack of assistance provided and that I was basically left to attempt to correct an error on Banners part that could result in my credit being trashed

I am simply appalled that, upon receiving returned mail, no attempt to verify my address was made. Clearly, they had my phone number (since I am receiving calls from debt collectors). I m sure they also have a copy of my drivers license in my medical records (which has my correct address). Furthermore, they have all my insurance information and my insurance company also has my correct address.

The fact that Banner 1) made a clerical error that resulted in their records being incorrect 2) made absolutely 0 attempts to obtain the correct information, while being fully aware it was incorrect and 3) disseminated the incorrect information is grossly negligent and lazy. But what makes this situation even more egregious is that they are now willing to do NOTHING to remedy the situation. There s need to be accountability for mistakes that impact patient.

This review is not in regards to the care I received or that my newborn baby received while visiting Banner University for a standard delivery in October. The care was excellent. This is in regards to a bill I received for my healthy newborn girl that was blatantly upcoded. I have tried to resolve this issue through multiple phone calls through "normal" channels that have been left with delayed and no action or care taken. Unfortunately I believe healthcare fraud is in play at this point. If I do not hear back from a representative with Banner University I will contact both my insurance carrier and appropriate healthcare agencies to investigate further.

So far the patient line is a waiting time of course that's any hospital you go to, but also depends on the staff and doctors the faster they see you to get treated and go home. To me honestly A.i and trash and a hospital that looks like a processing system for jail inmates is a terrible hospital. Alot needs to be changed here, especially the front staff and P.A. terrible services.

First, let me start out by saying that this review...

First, let me start out by saying that this review is related directly to the hospital and, in no way, reflects the fantastic quality of work and brilliance of my surgeons. This is purely a review of the hospital and their staff. The hospital has great rooms with nice views and that s about it. The lack of care is unprecedented. It is like pulling teeth to get anyone to just simply do their job, which I see as making patients comfortable during their stay. I was in this place for 6 nights and had so many nurses that took care of me. I could only give out a 4-5 star rating to two. The others either have zero bedside manner, no comprehension of time, or lack the basic fundamentals of taking care of patients. Not to mention the 20+ places I m bruised from their lack of knowledge in simply drawing blood. This place needs some serious adjustment in training and monitoring of their staff. I recommend that if you can seek healthcare elsewhere to do so.

I ve written a few reviews in my day and this is the first 1star. Worst ER of all time...I ve been to a few. Writhed in pain (chest-potentially heart or lung concern) and sat out in the lobby for hours on end. Needed to lay on my right side to alleviate the pain just a little. Received no help or treatment for pain or status updates. Admission staff from Triage guy to EKG guy were as rude as you could imagine. EKG guy yelled at me for shaking from pain. Never coming back again. STAY AWAY! GO ELSEWHERE!!! Banner Desert is good. Go there.

Recently I had to have a outpatient procedure done at the hospital. Other than an occasional visit, I have not gone to a hospital since I was a young teen. The staff was fantastic! From the Information desk to the Check out, my experience was great. Friendly, energetic, concerned, and professional are the words to describe the staff. I highly recommend this hospital.

Great care in the cardiac outpatient department. Was in overnight for a cardiac procedure and the staff was attentive, professional and caring. Had to return a couple of weeks later, again overnight, and once again the staff proved top-notch. Highly recommended.

Excellence in ER.

Excellence in ER.
I being a physician myself didn't need to see the extra 4 hour wait for each of the 4 residents of the same surgery team.

Here is an update to a recent ER visit. Physician, doing unnecessary diagnostic procedures. Came in for Plueresy,
So, after 2 chest X-Ray's and a Ultrasound, they FINALLY ordered a Chest CT Scan.
Being in the "business", and since I have excellent insurance, in my opinion, they milked it.
This is why Insurance is through the roof.

Worst experience. Heartless terrible people in the...

Worst experience. Heartless terrible people in the ICU. My father was dying and they set rules specifically for our family to prevent us from seeing my dad. They caused trouble with family and did not deliver care to my father. He was a 28 year emergency room nurse so knew the ins and outs of health care and had been an acting supervisor for several years and was even the recipient of a Florence Nightingale Award. He had a respiratory condition and had to wear an oxygen mask at all times. The oxygen mask prevented him from being able to eat and he was unable to handle a less invasive mask as it wasn't keeping his oxygen level up. He repeatedly requested to be given TPN as sustenance since he couldn't eat. They kept saying we'll try this and then look at TPN. They would never address it and my dad was angry and felt like they were giving him poor care due to the fact that he was on state insurance and that is why they wouldn't give him the TPN. The more he requested it the more negative the conditions became for my father and our family until they began pushing for my father to go into Hospice. He felt like they were sending him to die instead of giving him care. I have never been married and decided to ask my dad how he would feel if my boyfriend and I were married there at the hospital so he would be there to see it. He agreed and asked me to invite members of the media so that he could let them know about the condition of care he was receiving. The morning I was to get my marriage license I received a call that he was gone. His journal came up missing from the hospital that he had been keeping that whole time. However, days later when we opened his bible we found a letter he wrote us on the inside cover written just a few hours before he passed saying that someone was trying to kill him by delivering a medication to him despite knowing it decreased blood saturation that was already low. The medical examination was performed by the doctor who had treated him in the ICU which to me seems like a conflict of interest. They say said medicine wasn't in his system. My dad died alone and afraid before he could ever see me get married. The experience with the hospital truly was worse than the loss as they made everything far more painful and difficult and again I stress held us to a different standard than their normal visiting policies keeping family and friends who had come long distances from being able to be with such a great and important person in our lives and the lives of others, a man who had honorably served his country and a man who has saved many lives in his work. The staff I dealt with in the ICU need to go back and read the oath they swore to when they first started their careers because I was appalled at the rude and heartless nature they possessed. Terrible terrible people who instead of saving a life starved my father to death and refused to give him water even within the medical limit of their plan. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE IF YOU VALUE YOUR CARE!

It takes forever to being seen at the emergency. They are like 10 people at the emergency room and no one has been seen yet after 3 hour and a half, we are here to see a doctor not to hear from nurses the they're sorry!

my girlfriend is pregnant with our second son she went in a week ago having contractions and that was fine the nurse did what she needed to do and had every thing where it was suppose to go., this second time we go in cause my girl is complaining of contractions and she thinks her water broke this nurse had no fing clue what she was doing she didn't have the contraction mounter on right and she took swaps to see if it did break and she said she looked in her and it didn't look like it broke she didn't even get the swaps tested or nothing she just throw them in the trash and we didn't see her for a few min but u can hear her laughing out side and messing around., Banner Good Samaritan Medical Center is good in some ways but nurses like her give the hospital a bad name

The only reason it isn't a 5 star is that I didn't know how to park and be an ER patient. I was in dire need for medical care but had to circle the parking lot near the ER in the heat, and parked the furthest away, the only spot. I barely made it in. I got sick in the lot from the heat walking. And...it was only one space available in a whole lot. I drove myself because I am used to driving to ERs with this condition I have in my stomach. Don't have money for a cab. It was my first time here because I live far from it but was in that area. Your service was A+ once I got in. Not that I was very aware of it, just so sick that I only cared about the medication I needed to get better. Thank you for helping me so much.

Young vallet parking guy at Good Sam changed all my car radio station settings to suit him and his music (he's probably in his early 20s, I'm 81). Other than that, my out patient procedures went smoothly. Everybody very helping. But you tend to remember the bad part: inconsiderate parking guy screwing up my audio settings. Maybe today's self-serving younger generation must have their own entertainment while they work. Poor dears.

Been in a waiting room at the er for over 6 hours already. Still haven't been seen. This place is a joke.

Edit: add another hour.
Edit 2: another hour. 8 hours and still in a waiting room. You will probably end up succumbing to you injuries/illness before getting your emergency treated here. Go elsewhere.

So far, a perfect experience here at Banner... from check-in with Sofia at the emergency room, to short wait times for an ultra sound procedure, along with immediate pain management. Nurses Lisa, Jared, and Matt, along with CNA Rachelle were all extremely professional, caring, snd made my first over night here comfortable. And a special thank you to SC Tatiana! Thank you!

Too bad I couldn't give zero stars! Had a very poor billing experience at Banner in Phoenix. They insisted on some kind of payment for treatment of a family member prior to allowing them to leave the hospital, even though we have excellent insurance coverage. I live out of state, but the family member is covered under my insurance. The Banner rep I spoke with over the phone arrived at a figure that seemed very high, and asked that I pay half to allow my family member to be discharged. I gave them my address and email, asking for an itemized statement. Never received one.

When I received the completed claim from my insurance several weeks later, it confirmed that I did indeed overpay. I called Banner, whose representative told me their first rep contacted my insurance's provider services on the date of service, in order to arrive at the initial figure.
I then contacted my insurance company, who verified that Banner never contacted my insurance company's provider services.
Bottom line - Banner ended up with more $$ than they should have received about two months before it should have been due, and I am still waiting for an itemized statement, and a refund of the difference.

Follow up - After about two weeks, I did receive my refund, and statement with thanks. However, after asking me to provide a cell number for follow up, no one ever called me.

Absolutely awful emergency room service. I went to the Banner urgent care because I was having severe stomach problems and they refunded me and told me to go to the Banner University emergency room asap and that they would call ahead to know I was coming.

I'm admitted to the Banner university emergency room and they do testing like my blood and urine and for some reason a xray of my chest which I told them would be unnecessary because I have no pain in my chest area but they were very insistent on me having it anyway.

After waiting over 3 hours after my testing they told me that I could be released without giving me any diagnosis. I asked if they knew what was wrong and they said that they didn't know what was the cause of my pain and to schedule an appointment with my primary doctor as soon as possible, and they also said that it would have been best for me to go to an urgent care instead even though I went to the Banner Urgent care first and THEY TOLD ME to go to the Banner ER.

Immediately after they charged me a $150 co pay fee with I was unhappy about but paid anyway.

A few weeks later in the mail I recieve a bill in the mail for $4,000 in medical bills from that day at the ER. Including $600 for the xrays that the stupid nurse said I needed even though I told her before hand would be unnecessary.

Needless to say I am beyond disgusted by this whole ordeal. These people are a bunch of crooks.

This hospital has caused tremendous pain and suffering for its mental and trauma patients as the staff makes fun of their patients. They also just spoon feed patients with medicine and puts them in solitary confinement, it happened to a dear friend of mine and that caused them more pain as they went to the hospital to seek mental help for their suicidal intentions. That hospital was meant to help them and treat them like they wanted them to live but just laughed in their face and stuck them in solitary confinement for 12 hours and they want to be heard. This unfair treatment could happen to any one of you or your loved ones. Please find it in you to investigate this unfair treatment that has been going for who knows how long. You guys need to check your staff.

After reading the negative comments on here I realized that it isn't just me. I can be grumpy
Many of Banner's staff are adversarial to patients. That being said, there are some good people, too

I am new to the area and I am so glad I ended up at this hospital for an unexpected surgery. The nurses and doctors in the ER, OR, Recovery and on the floor where I spent the night were knowledgeable, friendly and attentive. The Blue surgery team was outstanding and supportive. I highly recommend this facility!

I want to thank the entire staff on the 11th floor of ICU - D pod for being so wonderful to my husband and I. They put together a wonderful last minute wedding for us. We will always remember that moment and have a special place in our hearts for everything they did for us. The liver transplant team gave me back my husband and I will always be grateful. Thank you all.

I spent a lot of time at this particular hospital when I was young due to a health/medical issue. The teams in ICU and Rehab made it possible for me to get back on my feet and not be some mindless vegetable in a bed for the rest of my life. Yes the hospital has changed over the years, new staff is coming in but I know the treatment and care provided here is top notch.

I should've went somewhere else once I read the reviews...gave them benefit of doubt and came here...its clean and quiet but I'm literally sitting here sick as hell with "covid symptoms" and I'm 5 months pregnant and they still took in at least 6 people that came in after me. The guy that's doing triage seemed unbothered that I said I was leaving cus everyone's being put before me...I heard him tell the other lady ok well that's on her..smh really...then said I'm sorry but that's what happens when you come to an emergency room...it's not first come first serve.... i should have went to dignity instead.

The medical staff is great. They are so nice and care about their patients. Nurses, doctors, techs, et all.
The billing department is horrible. They shake you down for payment by calling you two days before your surgery and demanding thousands down or you can't have your surgery. This is why I am only giving three stars and I will never use them again.

Great staff great service. All the nurses and assistant nurses are awesome and caring. My dad has spent 5 days so far. The best nurse is Jenny, very dedicated and caring. She should be the employee of the month. 2nd tower 7nd floor.

AWFUL TREATMENT. I came in for an extremely painful tooth infection, the side of my mouth was expanded to the size of a golf ball. Because of a simple misunderstanding with their prior records I was treated with utter disgust, rudeness, and indifference. I tried to clear it up with the physicians assistant and was utterly ignored. I asked if I could get someone on the phone to verify without a doubt that a mistake was made and was simply told no. The PA seeing me then decided to throw up her hands and refused to do anything further. I asked for her or her supervisor to come back to explain the situation, try to work it out and I was told that they wouldn't do anything, wouldn't confirm anything (even through their OWN CHANNELS). Eventually I spoke with a supervisor who actually listened, and did nothing. Oh, and the kicker here- they NEVER ACTUALLY TREATED ME. You know, that thing you do with an infected tooth, starts with an a and rhymes with rantibiotics. They shoved a single script in my face for an over the counter pain reliever I had already previously told them I was taking, then I was invited to leave. I could even hear them in the next room considering calling security - for what exactly? I never raised my voice, I wasn't being belligerent, I wasn't being argumentative, I didn't threaten anyone in any way, and I was listening and responding to everything they said - all I did was make requests and attempted to explain the situation. I never even got off the bed until my paperwork was signed.

So, if you're in so much pain that you're literally crying, and you need actual treatment I would suggest literally any other hospital - or perhaps a prison dispensary if you're looking for a place with a little more bedside manner.

I understand if there are rules and guidelines they have to follow, but that doesn't preclude them from simply trying to verify my statements, and if they can't even bring themselves to do something I would classify as reasonable and humane then I would at least ask that they not assume the worst and treat me like a crazed leper in the 17th century. It wasn't necessary, and it wasn't right. Please stop assuming that every single person who walks through your doors is a violent junkie con artist. Some of us just need help believe it or not.

We are very grateful to the ER, especially to Dr. Z. His patience, expertise, kindness and professionalism was very much appreciated. The staff was very thorough and professional. I can't imagine how difficult their jobs are. We were sent home with confidence that comprehensive care was given to our son and with clear instructions for follow-up care. Thank you for all that you do.

My daughter had her baby here and had a C-section. She said the service she received was very good and superior to another hospital she had her first child. When we went to go visit her we received assistance in finding and locating the correct room right away. The room was clean, and she said she was very happy with the attention she received. Sometimes it s the little things and the service that you receive which makes the difference. Happy employees make happy customers. Great job management.

I went to the ER on Sunday the 6th of May 2018 I had woke up Saturday and could not walk in sever back pain and down the side of my thigh into my knee shooting burning pain. I took Motrin 800 mg every 8 hours thinking i slept wrong or pulled a muscle.I told them that as long as I stand I could tolerate the pain but I could not sit or lay or I went into muscle spasms . The Dr came in all nasty saying they could not do anything for me there. No examination nothing but they took my $150.00 co-pay a anti inflammatory shot a steroid and mild muscle relaxer. Suffered another 24 hours went to my DR. on Monday still not better by Thursday but tolerable as long as I was on my forearms and knees on my couch. Ended up at Concentra Urgent care where they actually did a examination X-Ray and diagnosed me with Lumbar Radiculopathy acute put me in a lumbar compression back brace 40 mg prednisone per day.And I was able to sleep in my bed that night. They labeled me as mental health/substance abuse ?? What?? I read the paperwork when I got home. Unreal I am a machinist with a aerospace company which drug test. No wonder I was treated so poorly. I have filed a complaint with my insurance company I should not have to pay for a service I did not receive. They can't do anything for me so why take my $150.00 co-pay and the dr gets paid also I will never come back here. they could have looked at my records and saw that I do not frequent the ER for drugs. I had my gallbladder removed there was in for 5 days with C-diff which the 1st- 2 days the lab lost my 1st stool sample then the 2nd one they ran the wrong test by the 3rd day they got it right and was able to give me the proper medication. then was released 2 days later so I was charged for the 2 extra days for their mistake. Then want to charge me for their mistake .I am done with this hospital or any DR who is affiliated with them.

UNBELIEVABLE!!! I've never been kicked out of a hospital before!! I went to the ER (per my doctor's request) for a paracentesis and the post-ultrasound. Since I FINALLY got in around 3am on Monday morning, the ER doctor (Dr. Wu) said since I was too early before radiology opened I need to leave and check in later. And if I wanted they would give me a mini-paracentesis to remove some fluid for comfort. Was she sneaking drugs from the cabinet?!?! What the heck is a mini-paracentesis?! Anyway, I said no, so they booted me, and my brother had to drive back from SCW. That's a total of 4 hours driving. Then they sent me away with my IV still in!!

Ridiculous. Went in for emergency care, no one took insurance information and then I was billed the full amount. I called in to give them my insurance information and they adjusted the claim to my insurance rate, and then sent the statement back to me. I called my insurance company and they never had received a statement. After 3 calls to Banner and 2 to my insurance I was finally able to get my insurance company a number to call to speak directly to their insurance billing dept. However, the only option I was given was to put my account in a payment plan to avoid collections...despite that they had never actually billed my insurance. The rude behavior of their customer service staff was outrageous.

Oh...and we were given erroneous information my the nursing staff as to the safety of flying while pregnant. I would avoid Banner Health like the plague.

Just released after having heart surgery on Thursd...

Just released after having heart surgery on Thursday the 29th 2016. While I give my surgical staff and my ICU nurses 10s for their great care. The general hospital care was horrible. Starting with being put in the legal for 3 days where there is no privacy and no rules enforced for quiet times, especially when it comes to loud visitors after 10 pm, then there was the man across from me that for 2 straight days had 6 plus children visitors who screamed and cried, ran around coughing and hacking and yes sticking their under my privacy curtain. Yes that was sarcastic. Then the third night finally moved to a surgery room in prep for an early morning procedure. At what point construction was beating down the walls and pasted until 9 pm. Being woke up at 4 am for surgical prep not much sleep. Surgery and ICUwent well. Then on Friday night I was moved down to the same floor room 128. My night staff was very good then the day staff came on. They gave me paper work and the Doctor released me promising pain meds. I got home to Prescott and did not find my release papers nor the prescription s promised. Called the pharmacy, nothing from them. Called talked to someone at the nurses station she found my paper work with everything in it And wanted me to drive down. 100 miles to get it all?. I am low vision and have a bad circulation leg she said well don't you have anyone that can come? I explained no. She hung up saying she will have to talk to someone about it. So no pain meds, no paper work. I give this place a big F university medical center. Will never use this facility again.

The only reason why I m giving this place one star is because of the Cafeteria experience I had. The two cooks working in the hospital tonight were EXTREMELY RUDE. They kept complaining about cooking items that were listed on the menu but were not willing to fry. If you are going to complain about DOING your job then work somewhere else. They were cooking at 8:00 PM tonight 06/08/18. Hopefully someone who cares about customer service sees this review and re-evaluates these two employees.

I sat there until 5:45am that s when I got up and left and went down the way to dignity health

UPDATE 6/13/2019

UPDATE 6/13/2019

After Banner's "response team" left their comment to my review, I contacted them saying, "I m wondering if your response to my review was one of those 'social media responsiveness gestures' or if you want to get some clarity about my experience." They responded on May 24 saying "We will be sending your concerns to the appropriate team and asking for them to reach out address your concerns."

After three weeks with no further contact, it's clear they don't really care, but they sure watch social media closely!

Original review:

Banner Health is untrustworthy and has no compassion. When I went to my doctor appointment at Banner Health, I was told my appointment was cancelled. Banner treated me as if I was either stupid or confused. They decided to have a manager listen to my appointment recording a few weeks before to prove it.

It turns out that they called my brother (similar name), who told them he had no appointment. My appointment phone call was clear and definitive, so their confusion is incomprehensible. They also lost a fax of my previous records I sent them. While I was waiting to speak with their manager, I overheard another patient trying to find out why his wife s information wasn t being sent to her care facility.

When I met with the office manager, she apologized and admitted their failure, but didn t do anything that would make me feel their organization is competent. Managing patient records is essential. Compassion and trust are essential.

They didn't help me at all after I was discharged. I had to find my own way to the exit, and when I asked for help at the front, the lady at the front desk that I asked for help called security on me. (By the way, the lady that I asked for help, her name is Marisol, she wouldnt give me any other information.) I hope this review helps you in the future.

I had a cesarean and that part went great, but I regret not reading all the 1&2 star reviews for babies before choosing this hospital. Unfortunately, the processes in place to care for a new Mom and her baby need lots of work here. First, apparently there are "old" nurses and "new" nurses and they have very different opinions on how to care for a newborn. You'll get told conflicting information from everybody here so be prepared for more stress with your pain & stress. Pacifiers are like unicorns apparently and it was hard to get one so bring your own if you have to deliver here. Additionally, they could care less if you sleep and don't watch that so you need to make sure you get your rest and ask for sleep protection when you need it otherwise you will be literally interrupted randomly by vital checks, meds, residents, photography, social workers, lactation, Doctors, food delivery, loud doors, telephone calls from finance, extremely loud plumbing, noise of the staff & babies from outside your room (closing your doors doesn't provide much for sound), and I probably forgot a few. Oh, & your newborn being upset by phototherapy in your room is your responsibility on top of all the sleep you won't get. If a nurse tells you they can't move your phototherapy upset newborn to the nursery because he's crying non-stop that's not true. Ask for a supervisor. If you think someone gave you bad information here they probably did. Also, they make you leave in a wheelchair (long wait) out of the main entrance so have fun being wheeled past hundreds of strangers that want to see your newborn on the way out. The main entrance is nowhere near the 3rd floor parking garage entrance that you go to deliver so demand instructions from discharge as they were very vague about this and we wasted a lot of time waiting on the wheelchair to come & not knowing we had to go to valet to escape this place.#baby#delivery#newborn
