They did a wonderful job taking care of the car for the first time since I bought it. They cleaned it, fixed all of the issues I was having, and kept me well informed throughout the process. They seem to be a bit more expensive than the traditional auto shop but they do a nice job taking care of it, particularly if you're in a relatively new car that's still under it's warranty like mine is.

The only thing that could have been better was their method of scheduling. I had to bounce back and forth between 3 people about the parts and the time to drop off the car. When I brought the car in at the scheduled time they said they had no record of my appointment / vehicle and we had to start the process all over!

I just purchased my first car from the Autobarn Mazda Dealership at Evanston. My mom and I both agree that this was one of the best buying experiences ever! All thanks to Anthony Caminitti. He was honest, professional and treated us like a long time friend. We communicated with Anthony for several months via emails/texts and he was always very helpful and responsive. We highly recommend visiting this dealership.

It is very disappointing when you receive a personal email about your experience and then requests to complete 2 surveys and ALL 3 times it is explained why the last visit did NOT meet expectations BUT there is no outreach from ANYONE for further explanation/apology and/or compensation for the poor quality or lack of work completed when requested during your visit...Looks like I'll have to take it upon myself to reach out for a 4th time and maybe calling directly will work.....
Needless to say I am very disappointed with the work that was done or not done when asked. Please note that the service from the front desk and cashier was a positive experience.

Lewis Belcher is an excellent Sales Consultant. He was very genuine and upbeat. He wasn't pushy, and he is very knowledgeable and professional. The manager, Jon, finalized our financing paperwork and was also a great guy to do business with. I highly recommend this dealership for an exceptional car buying experience.

And my 2018 Mazda 3 is AWESOME!! Thanks for all your help, Lewis and Jon!

Had a great, easy car buying experience at Autobarn Mazda! Dave York was our sales consultant and initiated a nice email dialogue after a TrueCar quote was issued by their dealership. I appreciated his help answering all of my questions prior to our visit, and his very thorough walk-through and test drive with us. We love our 2015 Mazda3 hatchback and would recommend Dave and Autobarn Mazda to anyone considering a Mazda purchase!

I just purchased a new 2012 Mazda3 sedan a few hou...

I just purchased a new 2012 Mazda3 sedan a few hours ago. I had been researching dealer prices for this car for about a year, and The Autobarn in Evanston had the best inventory available for the deepest discounts. I knew the dealer would not discount any further, and this was perfectly reasonable since I knew they had already discounted significantly (23% off MSRP). I had hoped to get a bit more back on my trade-in vehicle relative to Kelly Blue Book estimates, but I also understood that my car is very old and had a lot of mileage on it, which made it unprofitable for them to resell in their used car inventory. I got the sense Autobarn was being reasonable with their final trade-in allowance through the explanations they provided to me, and through my own common-sense awareness of the age of my vehicle.

Jusuf Hodzic was a very friendly and down-to-earth sales consultant. He was enthusiastic and persistent(as a good salesperson should be), but was not overly aggressive and did not hard-sell me or play games with me. He was simply supportive and did whatever he could to facilitate closing the sale. I had financing already approved through my bank, but since the bank was closed Saturday, I gave Autobarn the chance to match the financing arrangement. They did, so I bought the car.

Some of the other large Mazda dealers in Chicago have a practice of advertising an artificial selling price on the internet via third-party sites like autotrader. So when I would call these dealers or check their direct websites, there would be price discrepancies of 2K or more for the same car. They would tell me on the phone that the autotrader internet price is 'aggressively advertised' and includes multiple rebates to qualify for that price. Without qualifying for these rebates, they would tell me I could expect my price to be higher. Each obscure rebate was 500, and they would list them all off for me (e.g., the Korean War veteran rebate, the rebate for people with six fingers, etc.) I am exaggerating to make a point, of course, but in the end, I did not qualify for any of their rebates. So these dealers' advertised prices turned out to be a pointless waste of time at best, and a deceptive practice at worst. In direct contrast to this, Autobarn was on the up and up from start to finish.

Autobarn sold me the car for precisely the price they quoted to me, which also matched the price on their website and the various auto aggregator sites. Jusuf also quoted this same price to me on the phone before I visited the dealership, so the entire dealership was consistent throughout the process. I appreciate that transparency a great deal and I was also quite pleased with the complete selling experience. I strongly recommend Jusuf and The Autobarn for other prospective Mazda buyers who want a no-nonsense low-stress car-buying experience.

Just bought a used Nissan Sentra from the Autobarn Mazda and couldn't be happier. I loved it, not only my vehicle, but also the amazing service from Danny Bender.
As an out-of-state purchaser, he helped me a lot with making the right pick, and getting everything ready to make is as smooth and easy as possible.

Thank you so much!!

I have been a customer at this dealership for several years and I love their support staff and commitment to service. I've never had a personal relationship with my auto service staff before, and it's been great. The dealership is by no means the closest repair shop to me geographically, but it is absolutely worth the distance.
They are always willing to go the extra mile and make sure everything is done right. I highly recommend them.

I had a great experience at the Autobarn Mazda of Evanston while purchasing my 2015 CX-5. I worked with David York (Salesman) and Ross Conlon (Finance). They were both amazing and helped get me to the rate I was looking for as well as the payment I was looking for. I highly recommend the Autobarn Mazda of Evanston if you are looking for a new or used Mazda. They have a great selection of vehicles and are great to work with.

My wife and I were in the market for a new or used...

My wife and I were in the market for a new or used car and decided that Autobarn had what we were looking for at competitive prices. We were looking at a RAV 4, Honda CRV and the Mazda CX-5. The gentleman that assisted us was Jusuf Hodzic. He pulled out numerous cars for us to test drive which was fantastic. He was patient and not pushy at all, which was refreshing after hearing nightmare stories from friends and other dealerships. The positive was that he put in a lot of time with us and was super patient on letting us make a decision. We had so much information to process he didn't push or sway us one way or the other to make a decision. Refreshing experience.

The other thing that we liked about The Autobarn was their prices. After a day of test driving with Jusuf, we went home and scoped out a lot of cars in the area online. Apparently, The Autobarn's pricing guys had done the same, because they really did have competitive prices on their used cars.

We ended up with a 2014 Mazda CX-5 Sport in Sky Blue. We are now almost 3,500 miles into a cross-country trip from Chicago to San Francisco, currently in the Grand Tetons and the CX-5 Sport has handled very well! Through city, freeway, highway, gravel road, mud, crud and corn fields our CX-5 is averaging 28 MPG. Not bad, considering we have climbed up to 8,500 ft and back to 500 ft about 4 times on this trip.

About 6 months ago I visited a Mazda in Michigan. I was AMAZED on how much better the experience was at the Evanston Mazda. Not only were they honest, thorough and patient with explaining everything to me, but they also were great a following up with how my car was running. John certainly goes above and beyond to make sure everything is resolved (even when you get horrible news about your car). Probably not the easiest thing to tell people, but really worked with me to find options that were best.

Excellent experience!

We purchased my Mazda CX-5 late on a stormy Saturday. Because of the time and weather, I got a very fast lesson on the ins and outs of the car. But I did come back on Monday so that I could get some more time with Kissy and a better understanding of the Bluetooth system. Kissy took her time explaining everything and I felt more comfortable. Everyone I have dealt with has been professional and all in all it was a good experience. And, I LOVE my new car.

My son bought a used mazda from Autobarn yesterday and we had great service from Sam Levin. Sam kept the process moving, was able to multitask, did not use high pressure sales tactics, and answered all of our questions. I don't usually enjoy buying cars, but this was a seamless, pleasant process and if this dealership was closer to home, I would definitely consider buying from them again.

Most people may not look forward to taking their cars for service, but taking your car to the new Autobarn Mazda of Evanston service center is more of an experience than a chore. Juan Vargas who will greet you as you pull your car in is very welcoming and takes the time to understand your issue. Furthermore, Juan takes the time to proactively keep you up to date on your car via text or a phone call which allows you to not have the worry of "wonder if my car is done?" mentality. The service you get from Autobarn gives you the piece of mind you want when servicing your car.

I recently purchased my first brand new car: a 201...

I recently purchased my first brand new car: a 2014 Mazda3 from John Norton at the Autobarn Mazda of Evanston and have nothing but positive things to say about my experience.

So impressed with John. He was very professional, respectful, and knowledgeable throughout my car buying experience. I had originally visited in July and tested the Mazda3 (which set a high bar, fyi) and told John I wouldn't be making my decision for several months. He kept in touch via email, forwarding along info about monthly promotions and answering my questions, but never pushed me.

Over the course of the past four months, I visited several dealerships and tested several cars. By far and away, the sales reps at the two Autobarn dealers I visited (Autobarn Mazda of Evanston, and City Autobarn Volkwagen) were the most knowledgeable about their vehicles and were always able to answer my questions.

When I was closer to making a decision, John arranged for me to take a car out for an overnight test drive, so I could really see how it would work for me. In the meantime, the guys at the Autobarn very kindly babysat my elderly beater.

I'm so happy with my purchase, and with the experience I've had with the Autobarn and John Norton.

Thanks!

Where to start, first this place is like your typical dealership, where as when you're shopping for a car, they would be quick to respond, constantly keep in communication for as long as you're on the market for a car. Once they got your money, they will want nothing to do with you.

This has to be one of the worst dealership experience I have ever had, I am happy with the car, but it's people like these that are giving bad reputation to the brand that they are selling. Don't let their pleasant smiles and eagerness fool you, once they got your money, say goodbye to any form of communication. Follow up is key in building customer relations, this dealership gets 0 stars for that. Nice cars though.

Although Autobarn had a great selection of vehicles, thier service was horrible. Was looking for a mazda 3 for the last few weeks and came across one I was interested in here at Autobarn. Drove the car and the check engine light came on, I was then told it was a battery problem and that nothing was wrong with the vehicle. Didn't like the high pressue in your face sales tactics they were using and wish car buying could be easier than they were trying to make it! Will not return to Autobarn

I'm a bit of a car nerd, but not as familiar with ...

I'm a bit of a car nerd, but not as familiar with the Mazda lineup. I had originally showed up to buy a VW GTI from a nearby dealer, but found the seats on the new model uncomfortable, thus ending its 5 year stint as "my dream car" ). My basic criteria were: Fun to drive, manual transmission, sun roof, heated seats.

So, we visited the Mazda dealer next door. I liked the looks of the 6 (though it's a bit big for us) and I've been eyeing the 6 diesel's possible introduction to the USA (I figure Dieselgate all but killed that. Thanks VW....). The 3 also looked nice, and I appreciate the fact that Mazda offers a manual transmission on most of the lineup (at least the ones that would likely appeal to an enthusiast). I also like that Mazda is one of the few independent automakers left in the world.

Everyone we dealt with at the Mazda dealership was friendly, knowledgeable, and were clearly *interested in cars* (oddly, a rarity!). They were not interested in playing any games or jerking us around, as many car dealerships have in the past. Our salesman, Mirza Peksin, knew *everything* about the cars we test drove, from engine/transmission comparisons within the Mazda line and its competitors to knowing down to the sub-sub-sub menus of the infotainment system. He was also funny and straightforward.

Our finance person, Chris Norton, was more of the same. Another friendly auto enthusiast who knew his product, had fun with his customers, was very straightforward, and shepherded us through the process with confidence and humor.

Before this buying experience, ANY Mazda had been at roughly spots 9-10 on my "top-10 cars to consider buying" (though a Speed3 or Speed6 might've bumped that up :) ). Thanks to the lovely driving dynamics and value proposition of the Mazda3, plus the awesome experience with Mirza and Chris, there is now a picture of a Miata on my fridge, put there by my wife, replacing the VW GTI, to focus us on saving for our next car.

I purchased a Mazda3 with this Autobarn in Novembe...

I purchased a Mazda3 with this Autobarn in November 2015. When I was sold the car, I was also advertised a $900 mobile-key start feature. I paid 8.5% sales tax on this part and my vehicle when I purchased it. On November 23, 2016 I went to have the part installed and was notified that the $900 part *WAS NOT EVEN COMPATIBLE WITH MY CAR*.

They promised me a refund for the part, but it never came. In February I called the dealership several times, but no one knew how to help me. After my fourth call I was given the information of a Sales Manager (Jonathan Sammons) who told me he would handle the issue immediately on February 24th. Over the next four weeks, I sent four e-mails to Jonathan trying to confirm that the check was on its way. Each time, Jonathan assured me that the check was "on its way". On March 24th (AN ENTIRE MONTH AFTER HE FIRST PROMISED ME THE CHECK WAS ON ITS WAY) Jonathan confessed that HAD NOT DONE ANYTHING and had "dropped the ball". He finally sent a refund request to a woman named Georgette.

Since that e-mail on March 24th I have e-mailed Georgette three times and the Manager of the Autobarn and have received no response. I called in today and finally spoke with a Manager only to be told rudely that "they have no idea" why I haven't received my check.

So now it has been 4.5 months since I was promised a refund and it still feels like there is no end in sight.

Great work, Autobarn.

I would like to give a high praise to my salesman, Corey Jackson. He is an extremely genuine person, a true professional. He went out of his way to make all my wishes come true, he went out of his way to give me the the car that I wanted in the color that I wanted and to make the things work for me. Thanks also go out to the Sales Manager, I don't remember exactly his name for his assistance and for staying true to his word.
Thank you for making great efforts to deliver an outstanding customer experience.!!!

Great car buying experience. David York provided an excellent overview of the car and showed me every feature. He was more thorough than any of my recent test drive experiences with other car brands. Left my vehicle with Juan Vargas for a scheduled maintenance visit. Juan explained the entire process in detail and answered my questions and addressed my concerns. At my request, he arranged a ride to a nearby restaurant to wait while my vehicle was serviced and later sent a vehicle for pickup from downtown Evanston. The most lying dealership ever see from sales dept. to finance. They tell you one thing but turns out to be another. Dont trust them, best thing is to buy a car come there with your own finance. State Farm has best Auto Finance. They sold me a extended warranty from a third party that dont even cover the vehicle that I purchased, then they kept telling me it will cover they were trying to talk to warranty but getting the answer from them that I was getting, IT WILL NOT BE COVERED! Then they found another warranty told me its their sister company which they are lying about that. Told me my finance will be through Chase Bank then it turned out to be Capital One. They are bunch of lying.......bbbb....I checked they're ratings in couple transportation industries the way they bring cars, they're rating is so low that no one works with them. STAY AWAY FROM THEM ITS MY ADVISE.

Corey Jackson, was one of the best Salesmen I had the pleasure of working with and coordinating with my best friend on new car sale. The next time, i'm in the market for a new car Mazda or not, I'll be going to this dealership and look forward with working with Corey on any sale :)

My wife and I came to test drive a Mazda 3 hatchback and were interested in buying that day if the price was right. We made an appointment to test drive and our sales guy had it ready to go when we arrived on a slow Friday. Kamal Suleiman was knowledgeable about the car and answered all of our questions. Even though I had done a ton of research beforehand, it was still helpful to have someone answer questions. The price ended up being very right for us, so we took it. I'm giving them 4 stars because there was a potentially big mixup with the invoice. We had tested a hatchback, but the sales manager pulled the invoice for a 4-door. Fortunately I realized the mistake before the credit union issued a check, but that could have added a lot of stress. Overall it was a good experience. Kamal was very low pressure and the finance and insurance office gave us their speech and let us decide without any pressure.

I came in for a warranty service on my Mazda that was written by Chrysler. Gigi was awesome, called whoever at Chrysler she needed to and figured out everything for me. I think they are really trying to turn their service around, I had a great experience! ;)

Everything at the Autobarn has been wonderful for me, especially when I met with Gigi (I don't remember her last name). She did not pressure me to purchase anything, but instead explained (in a way that I, who knows NOTHING about cars, understood) what I needed. I love that there was a woman to talk to about this-I often feel pressured by and spoken down to by men in these situations. I am so happy with the work done and the prices (competitive and fair). My car has been running wonderfully with no problems with the work done.

I bought a Mazda3 from Autobarn Mazda last week. We are from Canada and we basically had one and half days to find a car for our daughter (who will be working in Chicago). It was a wonderful car buying experience for us. All 3 guys (Cody, Daniel and sales manager Ross) were honest, upfront and spent the time required for us to make an informed decision. I would not hesitate to go there again for her next car if she will live there long enough. I hope the service team will operate the same way.

I've leased a vehicle with Autobarn Mazda previously so my review may be biased because I've worked with them before. However, because I am familiar with them, however if there were any disappointments during my most recent experience, I'd like to think that I would more likely point it out in this review so that they could improve. I leased a Mazda3 about 3 years ago. I've since moved to Michigan. But at the end of my lease, I CHOSE to drive out to IL and turn my Mazda back in to Autobarn, just so I could interact with them when selecting my next vehicle. They treated me well 3 years ago, and I thought that deserved a (250 mile drive) return customer. I was not disappointed. Chris Reis and Chris Norton treated me like family. They remembered who I was and brought up funny details from the last time we met and they went OUT OF THEIR way to make sure I got a vehicle I liked. Chris Reis was super patient with me even though I was ridiculously picky and he drove me back and forth multiple times (on the same day) from their lot to the showroom whenever I changed my mind on what to lease. He also wasn't sassy when he had to repeat the different features of every trim that I kept forgetting - super nice and professional. Chris Norton (whos the finance manager now, but 3 years ago was the consultant who closed the deal on my first car) did his best and got me the vehicle I wanted for the price I wanted. 10/10 super satisfied with both of the Chris-es and 10/10 for Autobarn. If they're both still at Autobarn 3 years in the future, when my new car's lease ends, I will have NO qualms about driving whatever distance (again) to lease my NEXT Mazda from Autobarn too! Unlike other car buying/leasing interactions which tend to be dreaded or feel like a chore, They made the whole thing a pleasure. Keep up the good work and keep people like them (Chris N. & Chris R.) in your organization.

I'm usually not one to review places but my experience was SO bad I want to stop others from getting into business with this place.
Horrible customer service, no transparency and blatant misleading in their sales tactics. I've listed the details below but if you're not in the mood for the details the short story is, avoid these guys. Man-splaining, slimy double talk and all, so cliche.

I saw the car listed on Autotrader, followed up with the dealership and was immediately contacted by a sales rep. Kam was helpful, sent me photos and told me the car was in good shape. I let him know I'd be coming from Detroit and wanted to know any additional information about the car, it is an older (2007 Subaru) car so I assumed some problems but he said no the car was a just a trade in so they were selling it as is but the owners took GREAT care of it and provided a full binder full of history. The carfax report claimed damage so I asked about that, he said there was no way that was right and they most likely tried to claim a larger damage for insurance because the car was clearly in good condition besides a few scratches. He even sent me photos of the scratches so I was aware. We negotiated, car was being sold for 7200, I offered 7000 cash if everything checked out with a third party mechanic. I read the good reviews and thought it would be a done deal.

I let them know I'm coming, Kam is out on vacation, Michel assists me after I make the nearly five hour drive. I'm looking at the car, since I'd been shopping for months at this point, I've done my Subaru research. I'm no mechanic but there are a few red flags off the bat much more than cosmetic (which Kam discussed and sent me photos of, no problem its an older car) like immediately I notice the sunroof is jammed open.

I found a mechanic close by, Sam's Auto Repair and Bodyshop (hat's off to the sweet old man who I'm reviewing as well and sending a hand-written thank you note to for his honesty) and after inspection, he toured me around the car and pointed out, begged me in fact to not buy this car. Turns out the car had been into an accident, surprise, and the small scratches were from a bad paint job (very clear by the lines on the inside of the doors) and by his inspection had been very poorly taken care of. He had me take photos which I'm intended to post.

I showed Michael and his GM the list of things wrong with the car, presuming they must not have known or not done an inspection because in the mechanics words, it was unsafe to drive back home and a waste of money. Sales guy was fine, the GM was nothing short of nasty, just blamed me for not understanding the value and saying the damages were "cosmetic." At the very least, I asked for them to reimburse me for the $125 I'd wasted on the mechanic, and was met with barely concealed laugher. May as well have said "little lady you've come to the wrong place."

The car was obviously not for me but they did NOTHING to apologize or help the situation. I intend on posting this on any review site because frankly, I've never been so disappointed with customer service in my life.

The sales staff was very helpful and patient. They worked with me to get the payment I wanted. We did have to wait about an hour and a half to meet with the F&I team which I thought was a little excessive as the dealership wasn't terribly busy at the time

Though the timing was very frustrating, everyone was friendly and they did have a large selection. There really was not too much pressure at all.

I was having a hard time with other dealerships because of my credit issues in the past but he said to give him my full confidence and he would make things happen. I went to this location looking to buy a car the same day and all I got was the run around. They were unprofessional and they drove me to get my other car to get prices and when they found out I was not buying a car from them (they were priced too high and did not want to cut a deal) they told me basically to figure out my own way home with two cars and 1 person to drive both. They said they were too busy to give me a ride so I could get both cars back home. I am extremely disappointed since I was planning on buying a car from them but after this I will never return and I will give my money to another car company.

As always, the service experience was excellent (apart from the fact that I needed service - flat tire!)

I got the flat after Service had closed, but I thought I'd drop the car off anyway to take advantage of DriveSure for the tire fix. A salesman (I didn't catch his name) offered to help, pulled my car into the garage, helped me fill out the after-hours form, and assured me that everything would be taken care of.

The next morning I received a message from Juan Vargas (who always provides great service) letting me know they had my car and asking when I needed to pick it up. He texted again soon after with the evaluation (I needed a new tire due to the puncture being in the sidewall) and explained the final cost after the DriveSure benefit was applied. Later in the day he texted that the car was ready for pick-up even before the time I had requested.

When I arrived to pick up the car, I was greeted quickly by a service manager, who got me back in my (washed!) car and on my way in less than 10 minutes. I continued to be impressed by Autobarn Mazda's service.

After test driving 8 cars in the last week from 4 different dealerships, I can't say enough about the help I was given when I was trying to buy a new Car here, at The Autobarn Mazda of Evanston. The Dealership was very nice and had a ton of amenities (wifi, coffee, etc), however in this case the salesman made the difference. I was helped by a salesman named Pairs Marlow. I can't say enough good things about this guy. He made me feel so comfortable and personally attended to my needs, making me feel like more of a person, then just another sale. He stayed with me and helped me get a GREAT DEAL! I am very happy with the car I now have, the deal i made and the way I was helped. Lastly, a few days after the sale, Paris reached out to make sure i was enjoying everything.

Thanks again Paris, you made this process very easy for me -

The best dealership I experienced during my car buying search. The website listing and sales rep (Danny) were both upfront and transparent about all items. Danny provided me more details in the ins/outs of the costs than other dealerships I went to.

Overall, not pushy and fair prices. I'd recommend them to anyone looking to purchase a Mazda.

When I went to the Mazda Autobarn in Evanston, I was on the fence about purchasing a new Mazda3. Daniel was awesome with letting me know the differences between the different outfits of the Mazda3. I eventually ended up with the i Grand Touring, and I'm really liking this car. I never felt threatened or rushed to buy anything, and was given fair information. Also, the financing was super easy. I would definitely come back for a new car and I'd recommend everyone to at least take a look around. There is a good chance you'll find something you'll really like.

I don't think Car buying gets much more easier. From the moment I called (to check and see if the Vehicle is still available) both Jon Zimmerman and Ross Conlon treated me the way a customer should be treated. And trust me on this one I've been around the block a few times before. Being treated as a "number" is what I'm used to, but on 10/6/12 they showed me that you don't have to waste ALL Day on Something that can be done in 2-3 hours Max. It really is a pleasure to do business with people who know what are they doing. With that said Big Thanks to Tony from the 2-nd Floor in the Finance Dept. And I think recommending them to everybody I know will be the least that I can do to return the favor. Even though I live in Palatine, I'll find time to stop by and Service my "5" there. To sum it all up Jon, Ross and Tony made my day. Thank you guy's.

I love the Autobarn in Evanston. I came to the Autobarn to buy a used Mazda 3 for my wife, and was pleased with every bit of the process. They had the best sale prices anywhere and a ton of cars to choose from. Our sales person Thijs helped us get a really low interest rate on our loan and was fun and knew a lot about the car. My wife and I love our new car and I would recommend these guys to everyone.

This is a slick building that makes you feel good about buying a new car or bringing your vehicle here for servicing. The staff is nice, and keep you updated on the status of your vehicle. However, be warned that sometimes if you leave your car for servicing, the mechanics park your car on the street where it may get ticketed. Sometimes they don't tell you, and let you unknowingly get a citation in the mail a few weeks later. Then they basically offer nothing as compensation other than paying the fine, and say "it happens from time to time". The work product is good, but there are other places you can go without the aggravation.

I have interacted with Juan Vargas in the service department on several occasions. He has been very helpful, taking time to provide me with needed information and explaining how to work with various features in the automobile. He is pleasant, cheerful, and easy to work with. I also am really enjoying my 2014 Mazda 6. It's a great car!

Anthony Caminitti was the sales associate that sold me my car. He did very good job explaining most of the features of my new Mazda 3 which has so many tech features. Felt the dealer should have installed the wheel locks before it was released as it was an itemized item on the window sticker.
Over all I do enjoy the car--very nice ride! Especially enjoy the adaptive cruise control- the car practically drives it's self.
Other than I couldn't get my Samsung S4 to connect to the vehicle by WIFI (no WiFi icon under device menu) all other features seem to work well.

Ok, here is the deal with my family's Autobarn exp...

Ok, here is the deal with my family's Autobarn experiences.

A couple of weeks ago we bought a new vehicle from sales consultant Kissy Freeman. Kissy was AWESOME. Thank you Kissy!

She was super-helpful, knowledgeable about her products, answered every question we had truthfully and quickly, and helped us work out financing issues. It helped that we had done our homework and knew what we wanted, but Kissy took care of business and had us driving away in our new Mazda 3 Sport in under 4 hours. We got there at 11:00 AM and we were connecting our iPhones to the car by 3:00, no kidding, which was terrific. There was no unnecessary delay and no BS about checking with the bosses and all that stuff that dealers seem to want to put you through. In closing, if you are looking to buy a Mazda, we highly recommend that you contact Kissy Freeman directly before you do anything.

Now, to contrast, in 2012, we bought a used vehicle, an Audi A4, at Autobarn, and the guy we worked with - Ross Conlon - was ultimately pretty useless. Now, I kick myself for getting the wool pulled over my eyes by Russ, and it's on me in the end, but here's what happened: when I test drove the Audi, I could hear the bakes squeaking a little, and I said to Ross, can we get those checked out before we purchase? And he gave me a BS line about ceramic brakes being squeaky, and that the standard for used vehicles was if the brakes are 50% worn or less, then they are good, and when they check out incoming used cars, that's the standard they are looking for before they sell them.

It still irks me to this day that I bought this from Ross, but unfortunately, I accepted that crap. Well, lo and behold, less than a year later, I took the car in for service and the service guys tell me the brakes are almost down to grinding metal. Whoa. I work from home, so I don't commute, etc, I used the car to get my kid to school, do shopping, etc, and had only put a few hundred miles on the car, and there was no way I'd worn them down that much.

I contacted Ross and he says the best he could do was to get the service department to give us the brake work at cost. I only accepted that because, honestly, no one else would give me any better pricing, but it still stung.

So, in summary, I was flat-out lied to about the work the car needed when I bought it, and then Ross did not take care of me as a customer when I had a legit complaint.

Don't get me wrong - the service people at Autobarn were great, and every bit of work we had done on the Audi was done well by them. My beef is with Ross alone. I have no doubt he did not really try that hard to take care of us. This is why I ended up going to Kiss. When I submitted an online request to be contacted by a sales person, knowing I would be in Ross' database, and that he would respond, I waited to find out when Ross would NOT be in, and came in on that day, and did not hook up with Ross' desk partner.

Unfortunately, this means that Kissy had to split commision on the deal with Ross, and I wish that were not the case, but I wanted to make sure I did not have to deal with Ross Conlon ever again. We will give repeat business to Kissy, but not to Ross.

Avoid working with him if you prefer someone be straight with you and take care of you when you have a problem. In my business, that's what I do, if I screw up or something goes wrong, I fix it - not Ross - at least, not with me.

I knew I'd be replacing this Audi anyway, and I was hoping to go back to Autobarn and get a good deal on a new car, which I did, but take my advice and go to Kiss Freeman or her partner. She deserves your business and I have no doubt she would take care of us if we have a problem.

My husband and I bought our first brand new car together at the Evanston Autobarn Mazda dealership to accommodate our newly-growing family, and we had a wonderful experience. Jeff Williams, our sales consultant, went above and beyond to help us with our CX5 purchase, taking extra time to discuss all of the safety features and financial options. When we drove our beautiful new car off the lot, we felt completely comfortable and confident with our purchase. The next day, when we realized we forgot our all weather mats for the new car, we let Jeff know and he delivered them personally to our home. We experienced a level of class with the sales team at the Autobarn Mazda that is hard to find elsewhere. Thank you!

I had the best of auto buying experiences at The Autobarn Mazda of Evanston
my salesman ,Ross Conlon, was not only customer oriented but very knowledgeable about my purchase of a 2011 Boxster S....the biggest purchase of my life.
Not only Ross but their manager Jonathan Sammons...came and made sure I had everything I neede, not only before my purchase, but afterward as well!
They made this very important purchase effortless and gave me confidence to know I was in the hands of people and a company that cares about their customers.
I would highly recommend this group and especially Ross Conlon who wouldn't let me leave untill I totally understood all operations of my new/used Porsche.

I had a wonderful experience getting my car serviced by Gigi Giuliano. She was able to explain to me, in terms I understood, as to what was the matter with my car and what the funny noises were. She did an oil change and multi-point inspection and threw in a free car wash:) It was wonderful to get it back all nice and clean! I will definitely be bringing it back again to Gigi. Thank you for you time!

I just bought my (new to me) 2010 Mazda 3 over the weekend and had an ideal experience! I have been car shopping and buying with others several times but this was MY first car purchase. From start to finish the whole process was completely painless. I'd been looking for a few weeks and had narrowed down my search to Mazda's (specifically 3's or 6's). With the exception of one other dealership in a 30 mile radius, they have the biggest selection of (gently) used cars. I called ahead about two specific cars and spoke with a very helpful Anthony. The first car I took out to test drive was the one that caught my eye online and the one I ended up buying. The pricing was right on (and much better than most other dealerships) and everyone I dealt with throughout the afternoon was courteous and informed. I appreciated being treated like a person and not a walking check. Thank you to everyone, especially Anthony, for helping me find my car!!

They sold a car with no gas in it. They didn't have the spare key. Someone was supposed to get back to us, but no one ever called. I called about a month ago to speak to the manager and he never returned my call. This place has horrible customer service.
