The service department here is awesome. The two times that I've brought my car in here I've taken it to Gigi Giuliano. She's super friendly and personable. All I know about cars is how to drive one, so it's refreshing to go to an auto shop where things are explained concisely and clearly, but not condescendingly. Gigi is super honest and I've never felt pressured to buy other things things that I don't need. Plus, their prices are reasonable for a dealership. Probably the best thing about Mazda Autobarn is how quick they are. Both times I've taken my car in they had it done WAY sooner than they originally told me.I really trust these guys with my car, my time, and my wallet. I will continue to return and recommend this place to everyone I know.

Went in on a snowy Monday. Meet with sales rep Larry at the Nissan side. Went in with a few used cars in mind. He never once tried to push me into anything I wasn't interested in, in other words, he didn't try to "upsell" me. Their used cars are priced to sell, so you don't need to haggle all that much. Simply and easy as it could be for buying a new car.

We were in the market for an SUV, but were really in the market for the best deal and experience overall. When we focused our consideration set towards SUVs with 3rd rows, the Mazda CX-9 really started to pop to the top. Once we decided that that was the vehicle for us, we started taking a look at inventory around the Chicago area. We went to Carmax and 2 Mazda dealerships before we met with Lewis at the Autobarn in Evanston. Having been soured by a particularly poor experience in Schaumburg, we were refreshed by Lewis' no-nonsense style and desire to help our young family have a pleasant and well-informed shopping experience. From start to finish, he was courteous and helpful, with a non-pushy, friendly attitude. He answered plenty of questions, was fair when we discussed pricing and didn't flinch when we made requests to update some of the pre-owned car's minor imperfections. He even followed up with us to ensure we were content with our purchase and made us very comfortable to know that the quality customer service extends beyond the close of the sale. We'd definitely recommend Lewis Belcher, and The Autobarn Mazda dealership to anyone considering purchasing in the near future.

Anthony Caminitti was extremely helpful! Anthony made my car buying experience a lot more enjoyable and relaxing than I was told it would be.

Not only was Anthony amazing, but Ross in the Finance department was great too! Ross made signing a lot of paperwork an entertaining experience with all of his pretty awesome stories!

I would definitely recommend the Autobarn Mazda of Evanston.

A number of years ago, the VW dealership flat out tried to cheat us by presenting a much higher price than agreed to when giving us the final paperwork to sign on a purchase. We stormed out and bought from another dealer the next day. Years later, I decided to take our Mazda there for service because it was far closer than the next-closest dealership. That was a mistake. I ended up going to the other dealership anyway when Autobarn could not deliver on the service it promised (which the other dealership had no problem delivering).

Had a great experience leasing a new CX-9 from Anthony Caminitti, Jon Sammons and the Team at the Autobarn. Anthony is a very knowledgeable Mazda enthusiast and was able to answer every and any question I had. He was able to provide insight about the design of the entire Mazda line up, with pros and cons for my situation to help me decide which car was best for me.
Great job guys, high recommendations from me.

If I could i will give to this 0 stars.I dont understand why Anthony is a sales person. Just saying.. They want a huge down payment like 8000k for a mazda 3 ( 25K) because my credit is not so good( and my credit is very good to excellent) . I went to Kia and I`ve got Kia optima premium pack with only 1500 down payment APR 1.1% based on my Credit score .. DO NOT BUY A CAR FROM these dush bags

John Norton was the best!!! I bought a 2015 Mazda 3, and I was very happy through out the whole process. Before I went to the Autobarn, I had gone to this other dealership and it was a terrible experience. The sales person became very pushy to the point that I was very uncomfortable. With John it was the opposite. Even when I told him that I wanted to check other dealers out, he did not pressure me into buying anything. He was very helpful and he answered all my questions, which were many. John made my first time buying a car a very pleasant experience.

We just purchased a Mazda 3 from Ross Conion...The service was great from when we drove in a girl named GIGI took our old car and parked it for us and then got us coffee....
Ross was very helpful in showing us all the features on the car because the new cars have a lot of stuff to learn..
He told us we can come in any time and he would help us...
Love this place...my niece and nephew have a mazda from here and they made me decide to go here.
Also Dave La bahn helped us in finances..even tho we paid cash.
thanks for the great experience

I have previously bought two cars from this dealer...

I have previously bought two cars from this dealership (albeit non Nissan cars), and every time the service has been exceptional. However, this time beat the previous times I went. I was initially welcomed by Hitko who was tremendously friendly and happy to answer any questions I had or talk about the 370Z and its performance. I then got introduced to Roy Allegretti and he was my contact for the rest of the experience, and boy what an experience it was.

Throughout the time I spent with the dealership today, I always felt like a respected customer, and this began with the initial conversation and their suggestion that I could test drive the car on my own for as long as I liked. This instantly took the pressure off a little, and really allowed me to enjoy the car without a salesman constantly in my ear, and I loved that I got as much time as I liked (within reason) in the car. I took it on the highway and Lake Shore Drive, and so really got the opportunity to really test everything the car had to give. I knew within minutes that I wanted the car!!

When I got back to the showroom, I never felt pushed or pressured into a deal that wasn't right for me; we of course had to do a little bartering for the price, but it was nothing like previous experiences I have had where you come out of the dealership feeling robbed. Roy got what I wanted, and understood where I came from the financing perspective, while constantly listening attentively to my questions and answering every one of them.

Overall, I was blown away with the level of service I received from the Autobarn today; as we all know it's exciting when looking into what car to buy, but normally annoying and energy draining actually trying to sort out a deal, but today was not like that at all. Thanks a lot to Hitko and especially Roy!!

Overall good buying experience. Salesperson was great - Danny Bender. Very knowledgeable, not pushy or arrogant in the least bit. Would recommend him to anyone.

Only reason I didn't give five stars is due to things that probably occur at every dealer - purchase process takes forever, some hidden costs like paint shields or something, slightly pushy warranty sales attempts after agreeing to the sale, etc.

Would not hesitate to recommend this dealer to anyone looking for a Mazda.

Listen up. Corey Jackson is THE most sincere and pleasant sales guy you could ask for. We had gone to four other dealerships and been treated the way you think when you think "used car salesmen" so when we met Corey it was truly a breath of fresh air.
We never felt pressured. He listened to our concerns and desires attentively, and partnered with the finance dept to make due with my previous chapter 7 and get me an interest rate far lower than anywhere else was willing to offer.
This is by far the best feeling investment I've made and I'll be sending anyone looking for a car to Corey and the team over Mazda Evanston.
Thank you so much for everything.
David G

P.S. The bow on the car was put there as a surprise because at the very beginning of our talks I jokingly said I always wanted one of those. Haha he made our experience so wonderful, and he also offered to take this picture.

The Autobarn Mazda of Evanston is great at ensuring their clients are satisfied. I had to get my car serviced and Juan Vargas ensure I was taken care of immediately and within 20 minutes I was out driving a loaner. My car ended up having to be kept for a couple of more days than expected but that was communicated and was able to keep the loaner so my life didn't stop while my car was serviced. Jose Venegas, mechanic at Mazda ensured all my concerns where taken care of and fixed the issues I was having with my car. Thanks Jose and Juan for the great service!!

DON T BUY A USED CAR FROM THIS DEALER!

DON T BUY A USED CAR FROM THIS DEALER!

In August 2016, I purchased a car AS-IS no warranty from this dealer under the impression that it s got a clean CarFax, the dealer did and inspection and the car was fine- it was all a lie.

Within a month of owning the vehicle (which I paid cash for $4K plus a few hundred) the car starting acting funny (de-accelerating when I put my foot on the gas, engine sputtering, engine light flashing, etc...) whenever I put gas into it. At first I thought I was using the wrong gas so I contacted a Mazda dealer closer to where I lived (I live in the South Suburbs so I called the one in Tinley Park) after describing the symptoms over the phone I was told it could either be A) water in the fuel I m using or worst case, B) it s a valve malfunction. I did not have the money to pay for either an inspection or service repair as I literally shelled out all the money I had saved from working holidays and summer since I am only working part-time and a college student.

Mid September I was finally able to get an inspection, this I got through the site Your Mechanic as it was cheap. I was told that I needed an Intake Manifold Valve Repair. This is where I consider the turning point in owning this vehicle to be. The mechanic who checked out the car swore that this problem it was having could've been there when they sold it to me and that the "clean bill of health Car Fax" was total B.S! The issue I have wrong with my car would've had the engine light on at some point prior to me buying it and the mechanics at Mazda definitely knew about it!

After hearing this news, I contacted the dealer explaining what was happening and they basically ghosted me as I did not speak to any of the guys who sold me the car, I was referred to a guy who claimed he was new and it was his first week there (allegedly). The new guy spoke to his managers and came back only to tell me I bought the car AS-IS no warranty so basically they have nothing to do with the car being in bad shape. Their way of placating me was to send me the vehicle record.

This record was more detailed and honestly had I seen this record when I bought the car, I would've NEVER purchased this car to begin with. I was basically screwed over.

Though I wanted to have Your Mechanic fix the issue it was about $150 if they did it- when I contacted them to fix it, I was stood up by two of the mechanics for appointments dating in October. Mind you during this time the car was barely drive-able as it kept stalling after putting in gas and it even went as far as to shut completely off once while I was waiting at a redlight!

By November I gave up on Your Mechanic and contacted Chicago Driveline to fix my car. They fixed the Intake Manifold Valve and replaced the Ignition Coil. According to one of the mechanics they were stunned with the state of the valve and the coils because the part looked as if it had been in a car with over 100,000 miles- my car only had about 53,000 at the time. For this fix the price including the inspection fee $608.54 to fix this car.

Flash forward to December 29, 2016, that fix by Driveline must ve only been part of the problem as the the car still has the engine light and it is still having issues accelerating on the highway (which is ironic since I live in the suburbs and work in the city) and it takes a good 10-15 minutes for the car to even start as the cold weather keeps making the engine freeze-up. I am basically in a hole financially as I needed this car to get to and from school and work. Now I basically have it sitting unless I have absolutely no choice but to drive it as I have no other means to travel.

I regret doing business with this dealer as they make Mazda look bad. I went into this dealership expecting honesty and good service, what I got I could have received from a no-name dealer flipping junk cars.

P.S.
To be honest with all the issues my car is having I'm actually wondering if the darn thing is a FLOOD VEHICLE. That was not listed on the CarFAX nor the socalled Mazda inspection.

Again, so disappointed.

I recently went to swap out an old lease for a new lease, and the process could not have been easier. Jeff Williams made the experience pleasurable and seamless. Everyone there treated me respectfully and I will continue to take my business back there again and again. It was a very stress-free and relaxing experience. The finance manager, Lewis, was also fantastic. My new car is absolutely awesome.

Would never come back to a "performance and modifi...

Would never come back to a "performance and modified car friendly dealership". Please never tell a customer that their car with an exhaust and an intake is worth 3,000 dollars less than blue book because of the mods, when their car with the modifications to stage 2 (down pipe, bigger intercooler, heat shielding, intake) should not be less that blue book by more than 300$. Also when you sell a car please know what's on it and done to it so when a customer or client asks about something to fact check you don't say "Um I don't know" so then the client has to explain it to you. (Side note 2 bushings costs 60$ not 750$). Also when I say by how your acting your gonna waste my time in the end and it's gonna end poorly please don't say it's not your a fair dealer, hold up to your end of that statement

P.S. I said I would return the car to stock to get me my 3,000$ back of the price and sell the parts, all I got was a deer in the headlights look with blank stares asking me to be friends with them still. That's when I knew the games had been enough

I recently leased a vehicle from Chris Norton of The Autobarn Mazda of Evanston and could not have been more pleased with the experience. Initially I came in on a Saturday to test drive a few cars and compare features. Chris answered all my questions and was very accommodating in finding just the right car for my needs. We agreed on a price, which I thought was very fair, and I picked up the car the following Monday. The papers were signed, trade-in appraised and new car prepared and washed in a couple of hours. I was very pleased with the car, the service and the overall transaction. I would highly recommend Chris and the dealership in general to anyone looking for a new Mazda.

This is my second time purchasing a car with Thijs de Kool and again it went seamlessly.

His level of professionalism is exceptional and he is definitely someone I will be referring friends/ clients to. During the process his Sales Manager, Dan Drescher, came over and was very friendly and thoroughly explained some paperwork I received in the mail. Katy in Finance was extremely knowledgeable, efficient, and a pleasure to work with.

Overall, another great experience. He worked hard to get me a great deal and more importantly a great car. For people who perhaps find the whole car-buying process tedious, I would say go to Thijs. He makes it a pleasant, quick, and easy experience.

Highly recommend Autobarn, 5 stars all around.

Most of my service experience was good - I had a few things done which were handled professionally. However, I had a screw in one tire (a rather minor issue, easily fixed in the most basic garage) which they "fixed". The next day it was completely flat which meant I had to take off the tire, put on the doughnut, and go to a local garage to get it fixed. This was not an expensive issue, but it was inconvenient, especially considering it was the 4th of July weekend and I expected to do a little traveling. It was disappointing that this was not handled better. I will probably get future service done at Rosen Mazda in Waukegan or Lake Villa. It's a bit of a drive from Chicago but I've never had any issues with them.

Terrible experience. Came in for a test drive. Anthony tells us he has to get a car from the lot and that it will take 30 min. Comes back more than 45 minutes later to tell us he went to the wrong lot and that he has to go get the car from another lot. We just waited around on someone that has no idea what he is doing for more than an hour. Big fail here. We walked away. Also nobody else cared that we were waiting around for so long there....

The service advisor Gigi Giuliano rocks! I've been bringing my 1997 Mazda Miata for years to Autobarn of Evanston. Each time I go the service gets better and better. Since my car is older, there are always some little repairs that are needed. Unlike most places there is not pressure to purchase, she shows me exactly on the car what needs to be done and why, and puts together a timeline so I am not paying for unnecessary car repairs. I go out of my way to go here because of the fair repair prices and the expertise of the service advisor. A few years ago, my clutch was slipping and it was hard to shift. Since it was a major repair I decided to get a couple estimates from local repair shops of going to the Autobarn. The first place only did transmissions and quoted me almost $600 and said they did not have to look at it on the rack because just based on the mileage that is why the clutch was slipping. The second place I made an appointment they put it on the rack and also said it needed a new clutch and it was also going to almost $600. Since two places already said I needed a clutch, I just called Autobarn and asked how much a new clutch would be to save a trip. Gigi was the service advisor that picked up the phone and told her my transmission woes. She said even with the miles that I had that my Miata clutch should be good for another 50K miles unless I had been abusing the car. She said bring it in and let me take a peak. She immediately saw a small leak in the clutch reservoir. A new seal and some clutch fluid and I was out the door in an hour. For less the $90 bucks! I can t tell this story enough and how I highly recommend them. They have saved me a lot of money over the years.

Maybe it's because I'm used to Canadian dealerships, but I will miss this dealer when I move back! The service is awesome, fast, and there's always plenty of space for appointments on Saturdays. The free car is nice (tho I get the trick... now I want that newer model!), and the BEST thing: they made me save a few hundred bucks twice already! Once by suggesting better cost/value on tires, and another time by just surprisingly telling me: "Yeah, your warranty is over, but we could sneak that in, so it's free."
I'm used to having my dealership inflate the bill, not make me save 200-500$! Awesome!!!

We went there to drive test three used cars. The first couple ones had issues, but we liked the third one. a 2004 highlander with a 7500 $ price tag. we put an offer to take the car and pay it upfront. So, we gave an offer that is 2500 $ less. The salesperson was very nice and very professional. He took us back to the office, but he could not give us a response without his boss's input (the general manager) ... after he brought us the deal which included all fees and taxes, we told him that we made an offer he went back to his boss and then they both came back.
The general Manager ranted at me and my wife. He was almost yelling at us. After he stated his perspective of the deal, He mentioned that we spent 2 hours with his sales person, that our offer was not fair, and that we do not deserve that car.
The general manager was rude and unprofessional after all, he failed to negotiate our offer because he never gave us an alternative one.
Mr General manager, you had two serious buyers who were willing to buy upfront and negotiate a fair price for both of us, but you have failed to manage the situation. Instead, you got offended, you lost your temper, and you failed to make a deal or leave a lasting positive feeling about Mazda Evanston. Please, let your salesperson handle it.

The staff was incredibly friendly, accommodating and hard working. I could tell they valued my satisfaction as a customer. One person in particular went out of his way multiple times during my visit to assist me with a problem I was having with my phone connectivity. Although my visit was 2 hours for a routine "check-up" I think it only took that long because the gentleman helping with my phone/bluetooth issue kept trying to find alternative solutions to the issue. Throughout the 2 hours there, I was kept updated on the progress of my vehicle multiple times. Very impressed with the facility and staff members. I will exclusively use this dealership and service center for all my needs.

This was my first time buying a car and he made me feel very comfortable and confident in my decisions. It was such a great experience and I'll definitely be recommending Corey to any friends looking for a new vehicle.

I saw a used car posted on their website and came in to test drive the vehicle. Lewis provided excellent customer service. He didn't try to push us into a vehicle we didn't want but he did offer to show us other cars within our budget. The purchasing process went smoothly and we left out with the car we wanted! Thanks Lewis!

My husband and I attempted to buy a car from this ...

My husband and I attempted to buy a car from this dealership last month. It was a long distance transaction which we understood would make it trickier but had a terrible time working with the people assigned. We called and offered the full price on the website. Initially, we talked to Alex (a manager) who passed us on to Dominique Solano. I asked her for final numbers with document fees and taxes to send my bank check and begin the process. She then sent over some numbers but the calculations assumed tagging in Chicago (easy mistake), so I asked her to send over numbers to plate in Houston. I couldn't not get her to then call me back. Finally I called and talked to another manager, Patrick, who told me he would pull the keys and sort it out. Still no calls back. I have text messages to and from Dominique and Patrick making sure they put a sold on the car and it was mine. Finally, after 3 days of being put off, I talked to another salesperson. We believe he tried to make the deal happen. I called the dealership about 4 on a Thursday. He said he would scan over the paperwork and I would put down a 5,000 credit card deposit to hold the vehicle which I was prepared to do. No more calls and then the Friday morning I was told the car was sold on Thursday night.

Patrick finally texted me on Friday to say he was sorry and blamed another salesperson, who had pulled the keys from his desk. I received no other responses from the dealership.

I understand mistakes can happen and if a manager had called and talked me through the issues and explained what had occurred, I would not have written a review online. But after several weeks of waiting and no response, I decided to let the public know something was amiss.

The only issue I can see happening during the week is that Dominique wanted me to buy an extended warranty and when I decided not to do that, she stopped contacting me. Maybe that was the deal breaker?

Hopefully, our experience is a one off incident, but there were several people, including managers, who could have stepped up and dealt with this more professionally.

I have all text messages and emails and offered to provide them to the dealership.

I've had all of my service done here since I bought the car in 2010. They have never failed to properly diagnose and fix a problem. I also like their flexibility. I generally drop off without an appointment, leaving the car and picking up at the end of the day. The staff are friendly and generally knowledgeable.

We've been to Autobarn Mazda a few times in the past year for service and have always have good experiences. I particularly always try to work with Jeremy Comerasamy as he is always very honest and accommodates to our needs. Regardless if the service was for a malfunction part (which was replaced for free- no questions asked!) or a regular oil change, the experience has been stress-free!

Having purchased 5 cars from 5 different dealerships in my adult life, I have (up to this point) found no reason to be loyal to any particular dealer. This all has changed since I bought a Mazda CX-9 over the past weekend from a salesman named Thijs De Kool @ Autobarn of Evanston. We negotiated the deal quickly & he had me in & out at a breakneck pace. I got a great deal AND he even had the courtesy to fill my new car up with gas!!!! In each previous purchase over the years the 'tank empty' light had been flashing as I pulled away from my purchase!!! These gentlemen are great.....I'd send my friends & family to buy from Thijs because I know he would treat them fairly & be respectful of their valuable time.

picked up a nail while running errands late in the day setting off the low air in tire sensor. I was a bit concerned as I headed over to Mazda without an appointment. When I approached the desk in the car bay, the greeter was busy filling out paperwork and simultaneously another advisor arrived with yet more paper (Jay Rosenfeld). They started a discussion but stopped immediately when I approached. I said, no go ahead finish up as I did not want to interrupt. They both insisted on helping me right away. So I told them about the tire and then it was obvious to me by their discussion that they were eager to help. Jay assured me would take of the work. I was ushered into the waiting room and less than an hour later I left. They had found two nails and both were taken care of with a smile. Jay thanked me for being a return customer and that is precisely why I have bought my last 4 cars at Evanston Mazda. Their service is unbelievably good. The waiting area always has good coffee and cookies too! Thank you Jay, you made my day yesterday ;-) Scott

I went to Autobarn Evanston for a Mazda3. Mr. Yusuf Hodzic helped me. He was very courteous and informative. I ended up getting a manual transmisison car, which are harder to come by. I had the car 24 hours after I signed, and they even offered to loan me a car until I can have my own.I was very happy with the whole experience.

I wanted to take this opportunity to write a review about my experience last week. This past Thursday I purchased a car from Lewis Belcher. From the first interaction with Lewis, he proved to be an asset to the dealership. He was friendly, kind, very knowledgeable, and the best part of all was that he wasnt pushy tryng to sell me something I didnt need or didnt want. He listened to what I was looking for and what I needed and he presented all possible options. Any salesman can learn something from Lewis's approach. From start to finish I have nothing but great things to say about Autobarn Mazda in Evanston. Professionsal, clean, inviting and accomidating. Even though this wasnt the closest delaership to where I live, it was well worth the distance. I highly reccomend anyone looking to purchase a new or used Mazda to visit the Autobarn Evanston and ask for Lewis as you wont regret it.

This was the best buying experience I could have asked for, and I don't say that lightly. I don't normally write reviews as I don't have much free time, but Danny Bender and Jonathan Sammons went above and beyond to make this a great experience. And that deserves to be recognized.

They were very responsive to e-mails to clarify some things before I made it into the dealership. They was no pressure at any point in the process. Danny was very honest, knowledgeable, helpful and friendly with any questions I had on the Mazda 6. They never played any games. On top of that, Danny even drove my old car from their dealership back to my house, over 45 minutes away. We were not trading in our old vehicle, and were not finding any good options to get it back to our house. That's when Danny offered to drive it back. Totally unexpected, and we are very grateful.

Decent. But feels a little "old-school" shady. They were very helpful but they made you feel kind of gross if you didn't leave with a car that day. We came in to just look and we left. Then we bought a Mazda 3 at another dealer. Not the worst but not the best.

Jeffery Williams is a true professional car salesman. I wish there were more like him. From the first day I went to the dealer up to the time when he handed me the keys to my car, he understood me and helped me in all my needs, from car feature to financing. I will be returning in the future to purchase my next car from him.

Because a friend had a very good leasing experience I started looking on Mazda's of Evanston web for a replacement car for my sons. Found a couple of used cars priced well below other web market places. Drove to the dealership and was met by knowledgeable, firendly and no pressure sales people. Dave York took the time to show me the cars I was interested in and then suggested what he thought was a better value for the money I wanted to spend. Bought the car...
I will buy there again when it's my turn for a new car!

This was my first *fun* car buying experience. Sales consultant Sonny Dulas was super helpful and friendly while I was deciding to purchase a pre-owned Mini Cooper Countryman from The Autobarn Mazda of Evanston. Closing the sale and the delivery process was quick, smooth, and zero hassle. There was even a party going on in the customer lounge while I was signing the paperwork! My vehicle was ready for me in the front of the showroom and was impeccably detailed. Not a high ticket purchase, but they made me feel as important and valued as any other customer.

OBNOXIOUS DEALERSHIP. My car recently got totalled and I was looking at Mazdas. This dealership had a great price on a Mazda, but they were also an hour away. I had called to go look at the car, then we got hit with a torrential downpour. I called him back and said we wouldn't make it out that day, but if we still were interested that I'd call back. I never once gave this dealership my phone number. Every single day since (two weeks) they've been calling me. I've told them twice that we already got another car and we weren't interested but the calls don't stop. NEVER CALL THEM.
