Check in on 22nd July to celebrate wife's birthday and wedding anniversary. During the check in, we don't fill welcome by reception. She was a little blur and rush through the explanation for the check in. WiFi logged in information was not properly spelled out to us. Even forget to pass us additional access card.

We stayed in a couple suite with direct access to the pool. Room is clean and good except that the king size bed seems to be faulty. Even a slight turn during the sleep has a strength sound and did not have a good night sleep there.

Breakfast and services staff at shutters were good.

Overall, I am disappointed with our stay there. We did not expect any freebie for our special celebration but not even a well wishes throughout our stay is totally unexpected. Even a 5 star buffet restaurants in hotels will put in effort to sing a birthday song for person with a small cake. I am likely going to stay there again.

Sad to see that this place too was a victim of Coronavirus.

The place was deserted. The hotel had a desolate and had a musty look about it. The restaurant was short handed and service staff over worked. Food was average.

Hope it recovers to past glory

1) Tonality of staff at the check in counter was not very welcoming. She even forgot to give us the side gate pass.

2) My partner requested for rose petals on the bed for birthday but the request was not fulfilled. The least they could have done was to inform him about it in advance so he could have made the necessary arrangements.

3) The aircon was faulty and they had to send a technician in to repair it.

4) In the evening after I checked out, I realized I left my iphone charger in the hotel room. No attempts were made to contact us on the lost article. Had to phone them and they then acknowledged that they actually found the charger but did not have the time to contact us. I requested for them to mail it back to me in which the staff mentioned that she will check on the cost of the mailing. No updates were given after two days either. I had to send a chaser email to them. The manager called us the following day informing us that they will send the item over to us instead. No apologies were given. They then replied to the email mentioning that they have to go down to the singpost to weigh the item before letting me know about the cost of it. But there was no explanation that they had to go down to singpost either and left me hanging there.

Upon the day of receiving the item back, staff called and mentioned that he does not know where is the location that I was at and he needs to check on it. I decided to contact the manager again but he was uncontactable and he did not even bother to call me back after receiving the miss call. The staff actually went to another building and requested me to walk over to collect it from him. Do note that it was during office hour and I was in the midst of working. Again, no apologies given and the whole process was awful and unpleasant.

I have also replied to their email but again, no reply was given from them.

As a 5 star hotel, I don t think it actually worth my money staying there with such appalling service.

I will never return to this hotel nor will I recommend my friends and family to patronize this place!

Here to attend a wedding solemnization & dinner.

Here to attend a wedding solemnization & dinner.

They have a very private spot for the ceremony, very pretty bubble in the middle of greens. The restaurant is just beside the venue space.

The dinner was good. 4 course. Love the foie gras But the main that I had, a fish was disappointing. The meat was tough, very overcook. And the sauce is better without.

This place is in serious need of a maintenance. The pools are sooooo dirty. Dead leaves everywhere, murky water. Generally staff are quite pleasant except for the one who check us in. Despite it being already 5pm, and 3pm is check in time, our room is still not ready. When we finally got our room, there is someone still cleaning our jacuzzi pool. The area is huge but there isn't a tour by the staff to orientate us around unlike most 5 stars hotel. Definitely will not be back here again.

Was at the banquet for a Wedding Dinner, it's nice place, service staff was abit blur, taxi was hard to come by when it's raining and you want to leave, make sure you get a planned transport or it's going to cost you quite abit to get off the island.

Food was great, wedding was nice, had fun, nothing too bad. Overall was quite nice event. Oh and hey have nice high ceilings, love the luminated center walk way for the bride and groom.

Beautiful serene resort with modern amenities in gorgeous colonial military base. Staff very helpful and friendly, offered us an upgrade from a suite to a villa opening on to the pool which was amazing. Some problems with the air con and tv sound but these were fixed quickly. Great room service and food options, and stunning green views from the open bathroom at the back that opens on to the pool.

Exclusive looking villa with private pool is a dream. The brochure mention "Be one with Nature" is true to each word. Ants and peacock shares the environment with you. Accidentally left out some nuts on the table and ants took over.

There is also regular 30 min interval buses to bring you from main land to the island.
There are at least 3 pool of which 2 are publicly accessible. 1 been secured within suites room.

Overall great experience and exclusive pool does come with a price tag.

Checkin process was very difficult.on a weekday the resort was not able to handle a handful of guests. I left my bags to come in later for room keys and asked for call back when room gets ready, didnt receive any call. My 1 bag was lying outside in lobby unattended. Asked to see manager he did not come to meet. Went for breakfast next day, attendant says its not included and had to show booking again, WTF.total mess and unorganized.

It is convenient to go to any destination in Sentosa. If you are not in a hurry, you can walk to the Wax Museum, Lion Head Fish Park, 3D Paradise, Universal Studios Park and other attractions.
The housing service staff has a good attitude but is slow. Interestingly, there are many peacocks in the resort that walk outside.
The restaurant is very air-conditioned and will feel cold for a long time.

Staff is under trained and the service was subpar. We told them it was our honeymoon and they did nothing at all. Didnt even ask us how our stay was when we left. For such a steep price you would expect breakfast but nope. Hotel doesnt look that nice either.

Had a staycation here for my wife s birthday. Arrived at the lobby and had to wait in a queue for 10mins because of lack of staff at reception. Welcome drink canisters were empty so no water or juice provided whatsoever.
Arrived at room to find it smelling of chlorine so we were told to leave for 30mins so Housekeeping could remove with the use of a machine- came back to the exact same smell, after 10mins and two phone calls managed to finally get another room which also had a really bad chlorine odour.
Ordered room service to which the drinks didn t come and half the food order was wrong.
Ambience of the bar was similar more to that of a bar in Geylang than a 5 star hotel with men shouting and Loud music, not a place you would go for a romantic peaceful drink.
Overall service of the hotel was extremely poor and understaffed, have stayed in better 3 star hotels. As for the quality of the rooms, amenities etc, walls stained and veneer furniture, doors etc chipped- hotel needs a major revamp to get anywhere close to a 5 star standard.
I would avoid going anywhere near such an establishment for the money you are paying.

This place was not worth the money nor the effort to get here. Stay in the city!
Amara Sanctuary was entirely disappointing - run down, poor service & nowhere near as nice as it looks in the photos. I only had three days in Singapore & was so grateful we only stayed here for one very disappointing night. Complete waste of money - way overpriced for what it is.
It was such a shame - it has so much potential.

Made a reservation for one night at Amara Sanctuary Resort Sentosa on 27th March 2020 and a deposit of $300 using my Debit Card during my stay. I was told on 28th March 2020 that the deposit has been refunded back to my Debit Card and that the process will only take up to a maximum of 4 weeks. It has been 8 weeks since then and I have yet to receive my refund back to my Debit Card.
Called Amara Sanctuary Resort several times to obtain a proof of refund (email or black and white) but some of the Guest Service Officer told me that that is not possible.
Only upon calling today, did one of the Guest Service Officer said that they will send an email to the Finance Department to check on the refund.
Quite a bad experience with Amara Sanctuary Resort because of this whole incident.

Also, check in process took a total of more than an hour on the day we arrived as stated by other reviews.

The place was breathtaking. There was view to the seas at the sky pool. the place is clean, and the staff were helpful. i had requested to exchange towels (not because they were dirty, but i made it wet by accident), and the service was quick and staff were friendly. there were free refreshments and plenty of plain water given. very good experience, with a private jacuzzi. enjoyed the stay a lot.

A resort which is quite close to nature and has history associated to most of the buildings in the resort. The courtyard suite itself was quite dark and damp, even though the stay itself was comfortable we didn't use the jacuzzi because we saw something crawling in the water (could be that something fell off from the trees covering the suite). During our stay we also saw peacocks roaming around which was a beautiful sight. The breakfast is nothing to write about and was pretty average.
Special mention to Alice Tan, she showed us around the resort and such a lovely person to talk to, make sure you do find her.

Disappointing stay for the price. Hotel hasn't been kept well and feels very tired and worn. Communal spaces are quite limited and service was slow. Wouldn't recommend to anyone considering the alternative options nearby.

It was as expected of a resort. When I was there, u do get voucher discounts for pre Zoukout drinks at the resort's bar. You also get vouchers for other family activities. Staffs were friendly and attentive. One of the attractive feature was that the resort have peacocks free roaming around. They are your wake up call if your room is right beside their sanctuary.

It is normal to see peacocks roaming around the premises. It is very rejuvenating staying in a spacious room and having sounds of nature from the surrounding. Although have to walk to the island shuttle service, they have transportation provided at intervals.

Used to be my favourite spot but am giving it two stars after coming back here last week. My last visit was few years back.

Going into the hotel around 3.30pm, we found that the welcome drinks section has cone shaped paper cups. I was unsure whether the cups were for the kacang putih snacks or for the drinks. I found out later they were for both. Even if they couldn't afford to have glass cups, they should at least have proper cups. Not to mention that there was a lack of paper cones at one point. Seriously, how hard is it to put an abundent amount of paper cones?

Going into the room, we found that the cleanliness of the room was so so and we even found a hairpin within the pillow. We did not highlight this to housekeeping but just changed it with the spare pillow.

The biggest reason I'm giving it only 2 stars is because, as a 4 star establishment, they really failed at making us feel welcome.

Staff were not happy nor smiling and at most times greeted us with at most a forced smile. We came here to enjoy our time but instead felt that we were a chore to serve. I have been to lower star hotels with much much better service and attitude.

I will leave the hotel breakfast review in the restaurant review. In which that would not score well either.

Amara should get their act back together if they want to actually score points and not lose their good reputation. I for one am a very disappointed returning customer.

Amara Sanctuary Resort Sentosa is the place to stay if you want peace and quiet. You have options for a regular room, couple suite or a villa. Pool right outside of the couple room was perfect for lounging around. Room though was a bit dated, but this is because the Larkhill Terraces rooms used to be soldiers barracks. Food available from Shutters, the carbonara is a must try. Service crew though could be more friendly and helpful.

The facilities are lovely however the service let it down. Due to lower staff numbers, they missed really simple areas of customer service that is expected at a resort of this standard

- 1hr30 wait for drinks to the room
- not cleaning the room on the first day
- not showing us how to enter the resort on an evening (resulting in us being locked out of the gate)
- swapping all coffee pods to decaf
Etc

I'd give it another chance however would expect that they manage expectations of service with their guests.
