It's a cozy place to be in, good service and wonderfully equipped with necessities. The only problem is.. inconvenient.. transportation to HBF comes every thirty min. To go palawan beach, you have to walk out to nearest bustop and wait thirty min. To go USS is the same thing. You just cant take romantic walks to places because of the hotel location.

The location is not convenient unless you want to stay all days in the Santosa Island. It seems that they have three pools but then one of the main pool is exclusive to customers who book the duplex. The facilities are rather dilapidated. The room is spacious and clean though. You would encounter wild animals like peacocks here quite randomly. The breakfast is not impressive at all.

In summary: I would not go back to this hotel again.

The good:
1) Within walking distant to Resort world sentosa - 300meters or more depending on your destination.
2) ice-tea, ice-water & nuts at lobby for all guests (since you will need to wait and really wait for your room to be ready)
3) Peacocks can be seen within the hotel compound. Children would love it. Mind their little poops though. You probably won't know if you step on them.

Details:
Earliest time you can check in is 3pm, regardless even if you arrive slightly earlier. Likely due to availability of rooms.
Hotel shuttle service: only drop off at certain hrs at Vivo city & Resort World Sentosa Casino. Pickup/drop off at HarbourFront MRT station Exit D (some walking distance from HarbourFront) & hotel lobby. The shutter bus provided is smaller compared to what other hotels are providing. Seats are limited too.
Pools: Skypool - small & was under maintenance at during my stay. Children pool and adult pool - unmanned, and quite some walking distance to reach it. A bit remote. unless someone goes there to swim, otherwise if anything happen, may take sometime before helps arrive. The water is not clear, leaves & residues seen in the pool. I am discouraged to swim.. Terrace pool - for those sharing the suite.
Room condition: Spacious, but shower area looks stained with mould. Comes with bathtub. Limited walk hooks. Has only one! Has a double opening closet connected to the toilet, thus no privacy if you are sharing with not so familiar roommate. Your roommate can just walk through this closet into the toilet (no lock!). Room and one side of toilet wall is separated by a 3/4 frosted glass. Good initiative/design to conserve electricity by sharing the light from the toilet to illuminate the room. But it is actually quite disturbing because if someone uses the toilet at middle of the night, anyone sleeping in the room would be disturbed by the bright light coming from toilet. Also, since the glass is only 3/4 frosted, if your roommate has a selfie stick, and is creative enough, he or she can see you showering in the toilet.
Housekeeping: Left my mobile phone charger together with the USB cable plugged in at the wall socket beside the bed when I checked-out (absolutely sure). I called the next day to enquire and was told that there was none seen by housekeeping. I was also told that the housekeeping will usually check the room when guest check out. Meaning my mobile charger just disappear miraculously.. What else can I say?

Parking: Limited lots. Valet service only pops up in the evening or night when there are functions or wedding.

Gym: Limited choice. (More for those who carry weights or does body building) not conducive for those looking to workout. I have seen better ones. The gym is also located walking distance away in another building.

Amara is a very lovely and quaint hotel nestled in Sentosa. There is a free shuttle bus to bring guest from vivo city, so it is fairly easy to get there. The architecture is pretty and the staff are very friendly.

Great room with private pool. Just some of the lights are not working and is very dark at night so if they would put up more lights in the outside of the room that would be good. Include pool lights would be even better.

Nice mansion.

Great service from hotel staff but unfortunately short handed.

Courtyard Suite was delightful. Service given by staff makes up for the aging property. Lack of manpower also means you will have an overcrowded breakfast crowd and no possibility of an early check in or late check out.

The hotel was located in the middle of Sentosa island. To reach here, you can take Monorail and alight at Imbiah Station for short walk or take public bus 123 and alight at Merlion Plaza.

The physical condition of the room we stayed in is pretty bad.. Pillows were moldy, in-room nespresso machine had a dried out capsule in it, water stains every where inside and outside. Not worth the money. But, I must say the location is great, and the pools are nice.

Very quiet and secluded place. Not so accessible for those without cars. It's a big problem when many people wants to leave at the same time. Calling Grab or taxi would take a very long time. It is recommended that event planners arrange for buses to ferry out people to the nearest MRT near VIVO city. Food and service is so so. But very reasonable price for a five star hotel.

Beautiful room decor, the gorgeous Sky Pool and amazing hospitality (special thanks to Min Yi!) alone make this worthwhile. On the other hand, it's exceeding difficult to contact Reception (we tried calling from the hotel room and the dialling went on for 5 minutes with nobody picking up, this happened on 3 different occasions) and the shower knobs in the bathroom are prone to malfunctioning. Other than that, you'll surely enjoy your experience here!

My 2nd time staying at this hotel from Oct 10 to 11, 2020 for 1 night. It was my daughter's wedding on Oct 10 at Barracks Hotel and since it's running full, Amara Sanctuary was just next door. It comes with breakfast for Oct 11 for the Deluxe room package. I love the tranquility of the hotel and the room size is quite good. It has a love couch in the room with a King Size Bed. As for the breakfast next day@Shutters, the quality is pretty good. We had complimentary parking and entrance to Sentosa was free till December 2020.

Due to covid-19, their buffet breakfast was scrapped but instead they had their staff do the running here and there for the guests. They do everything from counter work when guests walked in, showing them to their seats, taking orders, clearing, serving, and attending to each and every guest whenever they hail for them. I really take my hats off and noticed that they are under-staffed but over-worked. I want to acknowledge RIdzuan, Yang Jie and Veon Tan who was working really hard that morning on Oct 11. Another guy also assisted in clearing all the tables when the guests left. I think the hotel should add 1 or 2 more staff to assist in order to offload these hard working guys.

Very nice hotel with several small buildings (between which you can get lost ...). You have to be aware that this is a family hotel, which is mainly booked by locals - who really looking for peace, is wrong here.
The hotel urgently needs an overhaul - in the current condition I can not understand a 5 star rating.

Went for a wedding reception. The service there was professional and everything went smoothly as planned. The food and drinks were of a buffet style and the quality of the food is top notch. Staff was also very courteous and friendly to us. Location was also beautiful with a nice scenery as the backdrop. Will recommend to others for similar events or functions as it is a great place.

Our clinical professor booked a villa (2 rooms with an in-door pool) to celebrate the bachelorette party for our beloved colleagues who were getting married. Premium price was paid - close to $3000/2 nights (15-17 June); hence we were all expecting premium service, facilities, etc, which are consistent with the premium pricing! The experience at the Amara Sanctuary Resort was a disappointment! Firstly, check-in was delayed by 35 mins (3.35pm), although a special request was made for earlier check-in (than 3pm - official). The queue at the front desk was long, we were informed check-in could be at 2.30pm - 2.45 pm, then 3pm and when further delay because the room had issues.
The villa was also a disppointment - smallish, pool was so small, lots of mozzies and the mini fridge (the smallest i have ever seen) and not chilling enough that we had to request for ice.
Overall experience was an absolute disappointment -a) service was poor (with exception of one person - Rakshchit -Filippino guy who was very helpful); b)Rooms/villa - no where near 4-star, let alone 5-star hotels/resorts. The buggy rides (& drivers) were quite pleasant though. It's our first time at the Amara Sanctuary, it is unlikely that there'll be repeat biz from any of our team members!

Upgraded to resort house with jacuzzi due to lack of twin beds. But the hotel room is better near the lobby. The resort rooms are a bit old. Lots of pools and close to the sea. The breakfast is just delicious. There are many kinds. But I don't think it will come again next time. The door broke down and I had to call the staff. The room service has a decent price.

It is very spacious, away from town, very country atmosphere, asean-type of hotel(trishaw generation) rooms, the kitchen(dishwashing) area looks like grandma/pa environment, traditional cum new (mixture) as weddings held, seminars, Navy (big event) etc.

Old rustic colonial charm, secretly nestled behind the modern RWS casino and theme Parks. Private pool was amazing and directly accessed from the room. Might be a little dated but still facilitated a clean and comfortable stay.

I requested a birthday cake for my husband, but they didn't prepare. Tried calling the operator for several times as they didn't pick up. Mentioned they will call to tell us that the rooms are ready but no calls. Super late check in, insisted for early check out. They allowed us to check out at 1, we went out for lunch and our room cards were unaccessible when we were back before 1. As much as me liking the vibe of the resort, their service is horrible.

Booked the 2 bedroom villa with private pool - room was ok, met the basic needs. Service was subpar - abit frustrating as it was very difficult to get the front office on the phone (peak or non-peak hours). Booked the first slot at the pool but pool was not tidied up from the night before. Hotel environment was very good to be away from the hustle and bustle from the city.
