Special thanks to the team. Especially Karthik from the front desk whom kindly allocated us a beautiful 2 bedroom villa for my husband birthday as well as our anniversary. Everyone was very polite, the buggy driver, the security officers and all the way till upon check out, we were served with awesome hospitality and much respect. There is also a priority queue for guests with kids, pregnant women and elderly which I thought was very thoughtful of them to do so.

The villa was well maintained, very private and it was very clean too. Being in the hospitality industry myself, I would really recommend Amara Sanctuary Resort to others who are looking for a short getaway during Covid in Singapore. 2 thumbs up!

Nice smallish hotel with some colonial style building s renovated from army past occupation. Gardens very nice to walk around. Staff are very helpful & polite. Beware booking the Larkhill terrace 'Couples' suite's as the hotel also let these rooms to families with children, which can make them noisy at all hours, as we discovered & had to be moved to a quieter room for the remainder of our holiday. Generally I think this is more of a short stay hotel.

The Courtyard Suite is spacious and has private jacuzzi in the backyard. However, though the suite itself is great, the service has much room for improvement. A simple request for bath towels took 45 minutes to be delivered and it was only done after I gave a second call to the housekeeping 30 minutes after the initial request. I expected much better and prompt service coming from Amara.

Really average hotel. The quality is poor for the price. We were staying in the rooms with direct pool access. The room was not well maintain. The shower was leaking, as well as the sink. Some wood was broken on the balconie. The door are not closing properly. I report the problem at the checkout and they didn't do anything about it. For this range of price, I would have expected an impeccable room. If you have one staycation to do, I would not go to the Amara.

Buildings and rooms have a very nice design as they are in a renovated old British army compound. However, with all the other hotels on Sentosa, the Amara felt very empty. Also, it's not a real Sanctuary if the roller-coaster of RWS is rattling by across the street and some kids have a party all night. Service of the hotel was good. Service of the spa was non-existing. Better to spend your money someplace else.

Little hard to find your way up here , anyways the room is pretty small , and parties are not recommended here as the management only allows up to 3 people in a room ! Couples haven though !

A very nice hotel. The concept, heritage look are all very appealing. The pool is set in a relaxed wooded area. The room is tastefully decorated, but a bit aged due to wear. Generally friendly and helpful staff, although a bit more service mindset would project them better.

Basically the environment is ok. The price is reasonable. Service attitude is also good. The main problem is that the hardware facilities are not maintained. For example, many tiles in the swimming pool in the villa fell off. The lights by the swimming pool were broken and not well maintained.

One of our favourite staycation place in Sentosa. Close enough to walk to Resorts World attractions but far away from the crowds. This is a quiet and cosy resort. Shutters restaurant breakfast is good.

WORST SERVICE EVER - do not waste your money.

WORST SERVICE EVER - do not waste your money.

Booked this hotel for my partners 30th birthday as a surprise. The service was so disappointing and shockingly poor it was a total disaster.

Here are just some of the awful elements:
1. No clean towels at the sky pool - takes 30 minutes for someone to finally bring them up
2. Old food left all over the sunbeds that haven t been cleared up in what looks like hours
3. Ordered 2 iced coffees - never arrived
4. Ordered lunch and 2 hours later when it still hadn t turned up, went to reception to question this (the phone to be able to contact reception would NEVER get through after 30 minutes of ringing) - reception said our order had likely got lost amongst others and we were told to order food panda instead!
5. I was promised a cake for my partners birthday - never turned up
6. Rooms are old and noisy
7. About 2 staff members to serve everyone at breakfast - you have to fight your way to get attention from the staff members, meaning anything I needed I had to get up and physically walk up to someone for anything.
8. Food is awful - can t even believe it s a 5 star hotel.

I complained to the Managemet the day I left the hotel and it s been a week without a response. When will someone finally respond to complaints?

It s honestly shocking and the worst experience I have had in a hotel for a long time.

Absolutely should not be a 5 star hotel - biggest waste of money ever.

Do not stay here.

Located in sentosa but still relatively close to the road so not too secluded. Still relatively quiet. Drinks at their Tier bar was alright, cheap in terms of drinks prices. Menu choices were decent. They didn't have dragonfruit so they weren't able to make their signature when we visited. They had karaoke systems at the bar so you can make use of them when you visit. Environment is a bit dated though.

Nice hotel, clean lobby, located right at the entrance of Sentosa. Ate at Shutters restaurant, food was slightly pricy but acceptable, had the foie gras sirloin burger which was a little unusual as it was not patty based, taste was decent though

Was there yesterday to stay for 2 nights and waited until 5pm and still waiting for my room. How upsetting and frustrating. Imagine paying $300++ and getting such poor service which is totally unacceptable. I approached the counter on numerous occasion and I felt like shouting at them but I know they were trying their best and who can blame them? From my observation, Amara has totally forgotten that their employee are their first and most important customers. The place is simply understaffed and I even saw an employee weeping (from stress or guests pressure??) It refuses to deploy enough manpower for such crowd despite having access to their occupancy details and they are simply unprepared and poorly equipped to handle such situation. Listen, U cannot expect stellar guest service from employees who feel discounted and overwhelmed simply because the organisation is only concerned with generating profits at the expense of their employees and guests. I urge everyone not to stay here. Its definitely a bad and heart wrenching experience having to wait for so many hours for my room and having to watch the staff working in such painful environment

I really enjoyed the staycation with my Wife this year! Initially it wasn't so pleasant as our check-in time was 4pm but until 430pm they told us that our room was not ready yet. Both of us were very hungry and tired that we hope we can faster check in so we can go out for a meal. The staff Lucy was very good, she took initiative to check the availability of the premium room and gave us a free upgrade! It was the biggest surprise and both of us were very happy with the stay! We will definitely come back again !

Any hotel will find it impossible to be perfect all the time for every single guest. There are just too many areas where things can fail or not be the best. But it's in their service recovery that Amara has helped a good stay become a great one! Will definitely come back again!

Food was not bad, really liked the chilli prawns. Service from the wait staff was great though, they we're super friendly and professional. The carpark was an outdoor one though, so if you get caught in the rain getting to your car won't be fun.

I felt a little bit old in the villa, but there was a quiet, resort feeling in the distance. If you stay on the first floor, there is a pool at the back. It's about 10 minutes from the station. There is a shuttle bus from the hotel to the USS as well. Breakfast of the restaurant changed with miso soup such as natto and salmon grilled with salt.

i booked the 2-bedroom with a pool villa for 4 people. The check-in time (15:00) kept on delaying to almost 17:00, and when we finally got in to the villa, the room looked so different from those shown on their website. We were very disappointed. However, the manager who handled us very kindly, and she was the only plus for the resort.

Got treated to a surprise birthday staycation recently. I'm a fan of staycations, and there is something about having a staycation in Sentosa. It does feel like you are out of the country. It was a quiet and relaxing day, the room was huge, bed was comfortable and of course a bathtub to treat yourself at the end of the day.

It was walking distance from the Imbiah monorail station making it easy to get to from Vivocity.

Breakfast was a fusion of Western, Chinese, Indian cuisine. Food coma as usual, as I love hotel breakfasts. Only wished the bacon was not so dry and overly fried.

Didn't want to check out. And wished I had an additional night! Will definitely love to come back.

A luxurious hotel tugged away on sentosa which feels like a private retreat resort. It s bright, airy, breathtaking and relaxing.

The lobby is very welcoming and big so you feel relaxed right away.

Don t be surprised if you are visited by the island s VIPs; peacocks!

Service is really bad

Service is really bad
1. Ask the counter service staff to ignore the attitude and give incomplete information.
2.check in time is getting longer, you need to wait.
3. When the shuttle bus time is not on time, leave early, which is a waste of time.
4. Cleaning is not clean enough

Was there for a birthday staycation and the overall experience was nice. The design of the suite was pretty well thought out and the location was central enough to access the attractions of Sentosa pretty quickly on foot. The staff were also attentive and room service was prompt.

However, the reception did not inform us that the cable tv in the rooms were unavailable due to ongoing contractual negotiations with the cable company and this led to a night of boredom as it was designated as a football guys get-together. Disappointing as it should have been highlighted during the check in as we only found out 15 minutes before the match. A waste of the tidbits, beer and jerseys we had all prepared for the big match.

Would like the staff to inform the guests checking in of some of the small details, however minute during check in so that they may be informed and make other plans. IMHO at least.

Have a good day and stay ahead.

We booked in their 2-bedroom villa.
To sum it up? A nice chalet with private mini pool and bath tub.

Service is abysmal.
Front desk personnel will not make any effort to source a positive answer to any of your queries. As if they were all trained to say "No."

And $60 for a favour to deco the room to surprise my wife for our wedding anniversary? I had no charges from almost every hotel we stayed past years.

Utter disappointment. Speechless. Cannot be bothered to say more.

Attended a party in one of the villas at Amara Sanctuary Resort and it was great. Room was a little small, with one living room, private pool, 2 toilets and a queen bed. But the room was definitely clean, well kept and beautiful! Could also see fireworks that was happening in USS. There was also a shuttle bus from harbourfront mrt to the resort, a 10mins journey and it was very convenient! Loved the experience!

Never again, the hotel manager must have been on holiday as the hotel felt uncared for. Way overpriced for a room with no windows that smellers bad. Could not use the pool as the pump was broken and second pool fully booked. No vegan or vegetarian options at all but despite this we would not eat in the restaurant which was empty and had no atmosphere, no music and cafeteria style. The Gym was OK but no water or towels on offer. The minibar had coke only ... nothing else. The lobby was terrible, empty shelves, bad deco... All very disappointing ... never again. Unless they price it at what it s worth (Max $100 a night then I would not recommend this place to anyone)

It's good for family and couples who just want to get away from crowd and have their time for themselves. It's located in quiet place, though it's nearby the public transit station. not much view to see around from the hotel room. Friendly staffs. Over all, had a great experience.

Environment and food ia great. There is a jam to get to the hotel because of their weird valet parking system which jams up their drop off point. If you are just looking at dropping off, head towards their carpark instead.

Staff were very friendly, stayed on a week day and it seemed quite empty so we got a free upgrade! The pools are great with towels and water. Being a cheapskate Singaporean (not all sporean are like that) we took bottles of water when we went out around the island. One thing i appreciate is them having mosquito coils burnt at the pool area when requested so that you don't get mozzies around you.

The stay was awesome and staff were very friendly, it was a celebration for an anniversary, ordered flowers and they helped place in the room before arrival and informed when it has been done. Nearby to the beaches as well so you don't have to worry about travelling around

Our check in timing was delayed by more than 1hr, fridge not working, kids pool is full of mosquitoes and the sunbeds there were dirty. However, the hotel breakfast spread and quality is superb, we including the kids had a hearty breakfast!

This is absolutely the worst hotel I ve ever stayed at. Ants every where! The room door cannot be locked. The lock was broken. Tons of leaves and bugs in my private pool. I didn t use the private pool and bathtub at all. What a waste of money! Please stay away from this hotel. I m warning you! When we arrived at the hotel, no one came help with our luggage. Absolutely no service at all! When I dial to the reception from the room, it took forever for them to answer. STAY AWAY from this hotel!!!

Was judged heavily by me and my friends for being 21. We were told to be quiet when we were and were given dirty looks. Felt quite offended by the service. Breakfast was good but nothing too good compared to many other hotels in Singapore.

Place was beautiful. Room looked great. Swimming pool was inviting. Decor is really nice.
BUT
1. Upon check in, we were upsold the Larkhill Terrace and we got it. It's next to the side gate where some maintenance/construction trucks were parked. 9am the next morning we heard trucks driving around and couldn't sleep in.
2. Found hair under my pillow and in the shower near the toiletries.
3. Wagyu beef horfun was overcooked and hard to chew.
4. There was no creamer for the complimentary coffee. Called them and was specific that I was requesting because of the in-room coffee, I was told they had both creamer and milk, chose milk. Didnt expect to be charged $5 for the tall glass of milk they brought me. I accepted the charge.
5. Worst part of the stay? Amongst the toiletries at the bath tub, the body lotion was heavily used and mostly empty (see photo).

I wrote everything in the feedback form and handed it to the reception. Will they read it? Will they do something to improve? I don't know. One can hope.

I'm not fussy, I don't like to make a scene. I don't need service recovery. I'm pretty much a lost customer. This is just an honest recap of my experience. I stayed and I left.

Best part of the stay was the lovely drinks the lady bartender made for us at Tier bar.

It was pouring when we arrived at the hotel. Looking forward to drying ourselves and washing up upon checking in, we were told that the room wasn't ready (check in time was stated 3pm, we arrived at 3.30pm). We were told to wait or go explore. It was still raining. Where can we go? Front desk mentioned that once the room was ready, she would give us a call.
We headed to the hotel's restaurant to grab something to eat while waiting. As I was having my meal, I felt water droplets dripping on me. And then onto my plate! It was from the air-conditioning vents. I mentioned this to the female staff and she replied me, "Oh, ya, it's the condensation." "Oh, okay okay" was her reply when I told her it dripped onto my plate and that they shouldn't put customers there if they knew the vents were dripping.
We did not receive any calls to inform us that our room was ready until we called them. I dont know what happened to calling us when the room is ready. Upon entering our room, we found out that they had not brought our bag (which was deposited at the lobby) up and once again had to call and ask about it. The staff on the line told us we had to go collect it ourselves. When asked why couldn't we just tell her the number on the slip, she said she had to check. Shouldn't the staff who checked us in not tagged it to our room? 30 minutes after the call, someone finally brought the bag up.
In the evening, we called for some ice and a bottle opener. To our surprise, this 5-star hotel required us to go down to get them ourselves. Short handed or staff that couldn't be bothered, we really can't tell anymore at this point.

It was our anniversary but we encountered the worst service and experience we ever had. We will definitely not consider another stay at Amara.
