I had to get a handicap room. It was very clean. I come EVERY NEW YEAR FOR SLAPNATION!! They just REALLY NEED to serve HOT or even LUKE WARM FOOD..The steak was so bad (tuff) all 10 people put their steak in a napkin for us to take to our dogs. This event has NEVER had good food yet at $400 a couple. Sad

Planning my wedding at the wyndham hotel :) it's beautiful and i feel like it's one of the best places to get married.

The lobby setup was amazing! I loved that you could enter in through either side and that the stairs and elevator were right there. The conference room our event was held in is the perfect size. I would definitely recommend holding an event here.

Room had MOLD. Water damage to walls and leaking bathroom sink. But they where able to get me a pet friendly room

Not like it was in the past years, this hotel needs some major updating!! Fleas in the carpet as well!! Too costly for what you get!

Service is extremely friendly, perfect location for the beach as it isn't very crowded... The rooms are extremely comfortable with plenty of space. I have to admit that the jacuzzi tub being out of order sucks but it happens!! excellent experience for what you're paying. They will even allow you to bring a hot plate or Crock-Pot for meals if you're working on a budget. Would definitely stay again.

Nice rooms with a beautiful view of the beach. The room wasn't as clean as I would have liked, but overall a nice hotel.

Absolutely disgusting. Mold, broken fixtures, holes in the ceiling and floors. A thousand miles from anywhere. A $20 discount is the best we can do.

Best hotel I've stayed at in a long time front desk was nice and very nice rooms free breakfast the best.

The staff was very accommodating, friendly and professional.

The food in the restaurant was excellent.

Unfortunately, the hotel was very run down and took away from such beautiful oceanfront views. The more serious of the issues is a problem with cockroaches. The furniture is outdated and has chips and scratches. The fire sprinkles, door hardware etc had rust, wall paper is pealing off walls in many places. The bathroom ceiling was spackle in many spots and painted over just those spots. Their was dirt and/or mold in the caulking in the bathroom. Room service took the bathmats and towels but did not replenish.

I do not recommend the Oceanfront Wyndham.

Nice and pretty much clean. Outside of the running toilet and leaky iron my stay was okay. Room and be were very comfortable.

The resort is amazing, very spa like. The light beach colors inside make it feel like a fun place. The rooms are spacious and the beds are so comfortable; however the rooms could be a bit cleaner (I'm very particular about this). The pool and hot tubs were very nice and the public spaces weren't too crowded. The restraunt on site, Surf Club Ocean Grill was very good and the service was fast and friendly.

Quiet part of the beach. If you want to be able to just walk out with out all of the people it's great!

Huge property, with everything you need there. Only downside is rooms are a little dated.

This place was okay, but I wasn't impressed with the cleaning staff at all. The fact that it was Oceanfront, and dog friendly, and not on the boardwalk were the reasons we chose it.. but honestly, I think next time we will try to find a place on the boardwalk so we can walk to more eating establishments.

The room this year was better then last year. We attended the New Year eve event again for the third time and it will be the last time we come. The food again was cold and very poor to say the least. The room was cold and even the staff said it was freezing. It took forever to get each course and with each plate came more disappointment. Everyone at our table complained about the food and they pushed the band back to play because the food took a long time to reach the tables. The bar tenders were really not great and each drink I received was strong and not mixed correctly. Some of the bartenders were looking on paper to see how to make drinks. Tina was the only bartender that seem to know something about drinks. I also have to say that the snacks before dinner was scaled back a lot then last year. Overall the price we paid was not worth it at all including the room. At one point a lady was complaining to the manager about the food and she said it was the first she heard of it, which I can not believe at all. I will miss seeing the band next time, but there are other places that have 5 star food, drinks and service that will make the effort to change if there are problems. We were promised better food, room and more, yet again you failed to deliver.

Horrible. Very dirty, only gave two towels for a family of 5. My family and I had to pay an excessive amount for dining. All pictures are fake, the pool is very small. The cops were there when we showed up and a man got arrested. Three kids had to witness this also speaking of kids, nothing for the kids to do. Very disappointed, had to leave the first day we came very early. I do not recommend this hotel.

1 star is too many. The hotel is disgusting, the staff is rude, we waited 4 hours for our room, the amenities are all closed.... We are scheduled for 3 nights and are happily flushing 400$ down the drain to not stay in filth.

We've been staying here for a convention for many years. The staff is always friendly and accommodating. We had a disappointing visit last year, but everything went smoothly this time. They appear to be in the process of a welcome facelift. Looking forward to seeing the results next year.

Horrible experience,

Just wanted a nice vacation and the staff was awful. Had to wait 30 minutes to be waited on, the room wasn't clean. Please avoid at all costs.

Omg what a nightmare first we never got a microwave then theres 6 of us 2 towels that's all u have to wash them or wait till next day then theres 17 floor 3 elevator 2 broke social distancing so the lines out the door because 1 very slow elevator I missed our boat ride my husband disable vet could nt take steps ok we told manager ok bill almost 800 for 2 days say ok I'm taking 25% off and an additional 50% off because all the trouble ok last night a alarm goes off wakes us up evacuated us in middle night omg so they said lower so sorry free night and take anther 50% off well got agree night but bill was still almost 600 il never go to anther one

Terrible room!!! Dirty! They even did put a soap!!! Mold in bathroom. Iam sure for that money you can find much better place!!! Its looks like cheap motel not recommended for anyone!

I was so embarrassed i picked this hotel to take my wife for our vacation.
1. Mold in shower.
2. Checked in, room was dirty. (Floors, counter, mirrors, carpet, sheets.
3. Dead bugs in room.
4. Toilet wasn't flashed from last guest (pee all over the toliet)
5. Alot of flys in restaurant.
6. Both pools decks were dirty (water didnt look clear)
7. Light bulb was out.
8. Trash cans in hallway was full.
9. Same dirty dishes in the halway for days.
10. Only cleaning to the rooms daily was making the bed and putting the trash. Same sheets for a whole week.
11. Wall were dirty.
12. Damaged drywall (ceiling water damage)
13. Ice Machine was dirty.
Throw the whole building away and start over. We thought we were the only ones unhappy but at the bar, there were other guest that were upset as well. Stay anywhere but here!!!

Got away for a weekend staycation 2 weekends ago. So peaceful with the ocean just yards away. I left my patio door and blinds open the entire day and night. The view was just to beautiful to close the blinds, even briefly.
Front desk staff were super friendly and I had a very clean room. I stayed on the 18th floor and it was so quiet. I will be back.

I'm highly disappointed in my stay here at Wyndham last night and I absolutely will be contacting corporate to inform them of my experience here. The only thing that I paid for and received is the oceanfront view. I bought my room online with orbitz and used my orbitz bucks there to get a cheaper price but still was the worst $201 I've ever spent in my entire life. I walk into the registration lobby with my 4 year old and to my surprise there were 3 intoxicated men drinking openly in the lobby. The place reeked of smoke and pure alcohol which was so innapropiate. My husband, the kids, and I go upstairs to our room and a few minutes later knead out to the indoor pool and he checks the door a minute or two later to make sure it's locked because he noticed the locking mechanism on our door was a bit damaged and looked worn out so to our surprise the door wasn't even locking you could open the door with out the room key( which I've never seen before). We call the front desk and they send up maintenance. They gentleman replaced it with a new one and we appreciate and thanked him. So, we get to the pool and the water is so shallow a mess everywhere. There's a huge sign at the pool that says no diving but off coarse all the kids where. There was water all over the floor due to the diving in the little pool. It was absolutely the WORST night of my life!!!! I will be contacting corporate and inform them of my horrible stay. Oh and the wifi cuts in and off too!! just avoid this place at all costs! I've never written a review but I wish to save someone else because I really wish I had someone to give me the honest to god truth about this place. Yes, I did see the signs when I entered avoutvtge repairs but said to say I didn't see anything being repaired unless it was in individual rooms. I take it I had the old one because it looked.

This hotel has bedbugs. My daughter has bites all over her after staying at this location. While many attempts have been made to resolve this matter the hotel has decided to take the defense in saying there hotel has no bugs. Do no waste your time or money at this hotel.

This was my first stay at a wyndham and it will be my last.... the service is horrible they never gave us towels or wash cloths when they cleaned the rooms and the first nihht the beds sheets were drity and the shower curtin had mole all over it....... just not a good experience at all... the sliding door feel out in the middel og the night when my son tried to look at the beach and we had to change room. Dont stay here......

The hotel is extremely run down! House Keeping never brought clean towels or came to clean the room in the two days we were there. Location was great but that was about it. Staff was friendly so that was a plus but the condition of the hotel was terrible. I would never pay money to stay there again. Disappointing considering we always stay with Wyndham and usually it s much better. I urge people not to stay here until they renovate and or clean it up.

Enjoyed the stay amazing view. Hotel was a little weird because it was seperated from main lobby. Some halways had weird smells i was with a company for vacation i was on floor 16 view was amazing. Seen a wedding on the beach that was cool. Wal mart was close. The hotel is s very close to the begining of the ocean property. You have to drive to the boardwalk and stores

Dirty and smelled like pee. We got a non-pet room, but it still smelled like urine everywhere, especially the couch. Mattress had stains, carpet had sticky stuff, and bath tub was moldy. Pool was ok, but hot tub was disgusting! And while swimming with my kids there were people smoking in the indoor pool.

I really liked this place, good location, we borrowed bikes for a ride. Great service. Several pool options. Right on the water. A few blocks off of the main downtown strip.

There was mold in the walls but they had no rooms to move me too so they compensated me me a night

It doesn't get better than walking from your room out to a beautiful beach.

A nice location right next to the beach with pretty amenities. The decor is a bit dated, the elevator looks and feels like it's for freight, and the whole place feels a bit too 1970's. Rooms are nice. Hotel is a bit far form the strip. A very short drive but too far to walk.

Great stay. We stayed on the 6th floor ocean front room. great view. witnessed a beautiful wedding from our patio. also enjoyed the live band the 2nd night stay. restaurant was a lil pricey but overall wonderful. hotel is more on the private side of the beach. loved it!!!

We booked a room for Labor Day Weekend and it was the worst choice ever. The hotel is old and dirty. We checked into our room which was oceanfront and the room smelled Moldy and absolutely horrible....I thought I was going to throw up. In addition to the smell, the wallpaper was peeling and the molding around the walls was coming off the wall. Then to top it off, I pulled the comforter back and there was dried blood stains on the bedding.

I complained to the front desk and was told they were overbooked and could not do anything to help me. I asked for clean bedding and was told they were out of blankets and comforters. The sanity conditions of this hotel was atrocious and the staff was less than helpful. I took photos and will be letting the BBB and health department know. No one should ever stay here!!

This hotel isn't one of the best in Virginia Beach; out of date facilities, peeling paint and overwhelming smell of urine in the main hallway. Also why is your restaurant overcharging for the same terrible tasting dehydrated eggs that I ate in boot camp? Whether local or tourist, your customers definitely deserve better.

This was the worse hotel I ve been to.I was a guest of this hotel the weekend of July 24th. We arrived around 2pm and was told the room is not ready and to come back at 4pm, as this was the proper check in time. No problem there. We grabbed a bite at the on-site, overpriced restaurant, and returned to check in afterwards (approximately 4:15pm). The room still isn t ready.
While waiting we overhear people complaining about their rooms. One lady mentioned bed bugs and another spoke on the mildew smell as soon as entering the room. After hearing that we were apprehensive about the cleanliness of our room. Finally around 5:30pm we were able to get our keys. I m one to travel with Lysol spray and Clorox wipes, pillowcase, shower shoes etc. I m really glad I did because the room wasn t the cleanest. We sprayed everything down and checked the bedding. There was mold in the shower, beds were uncomfortably, sliding doors to balcony hard open/close. Overall we survived the weekend here but I will not be back.

Wonderful place to stay with family. Kinda of far from the boardwalk but there is a bus stop right out front

The room was dirty. Hair in the bathroom. The halls and elevators were filthy. I requested towels. I was told they would brought up to me and they weren't. I finally was told they did not have any clean ones the next day. Had to get towels from another customer. The health department needs to inspect this place. Especially with COVID19.

Great beach, clean and accessible. Only issue is parking, kind of difficult to find. Everything else is perfect, we had a great time!!!

Stayed for a few days and had a great time. Housekeeping made sure to keep our room stocked and the staff was friendly. Pools were a great way to end the day and the hot tub was at the perfect temperature. You're right on the beach and the views, at any given time, were beautiful. Not right on the strip but I liked that. Not too many people but close enough to enjoy everything the area had to offer. Would definitely recommend.
UPDATE:
Back one year later. Ran into some truly unbelievable bad luck but the hotel and staff made the absolute best of our situation and turned our stay into not only one vacation that we will never forget but to one that will always bring us back every summer. By far he best hotel that we have ever stayed at! Shuttle service to the heart of the action on the strip to indoor pool. Room service to the BEST staff ever! Everyday we woke up to the most amazing sunrises and ended with the most amazing sunsets. Not the usual but not a day went by that we didn't wake up to dolphins outside the hotel. Got some awesome pictures and my sons said they will one day bring their families here. Highly recommend!!

We're going back soon. Front desk staff was wonderful, clean room, pet friendly, several good places to eat including at the hotel.... My favorite part of the stay was waking up to the sound as well as the beach waves.

Ice machine is broken. Called to have it fixed and still broken. Air conditioner would not cool in first room, after maintenance came and said to call back in an hour at 11pm, we called to find maintenance left for the night. Mold and curtain in bathroom coming apart. Outdoor pool appears to had vomit or something in pool that was never handled. Sliding door of room to balcony comes off track, very hard to work with. Front desk called our second room to see if our first room checked in. Both rooms checked in same time originally. Just no organization. Staff is nice but doesn't get the jobs done.

Got a free upgrade to ocean front. Nice, clean room. We're happy!

Unclean, possibly mold present in the room. When telling front desk all they said was sorry. I could get sick and they don t seem to care.

We rode our motorcycle here and ran into rain on the way so it delayed us by about a 1/2 hour. When we arrived our reservation had been canceled. They said they called us, which we obviously couldn't here. I asked if we could still get a room which they did get us but we had to pay more because we had booked it online and they said they couldn't give it to us at that rate and had to wait 30 minutes until it was ready. . Then the pool was closed which we weren't told when we booked it. When we asked why they said because of the covid but there were other hotels near us which had their pools open. Also we had to call everyday to get clean towels because they are not cleaning the rooms during your stay because of the covid.

Just arrived today after a 10 hour drive. Had messaged the hotel the week before about early check in, 1.5 hours early, and was told they would accommodate. I arrive at the hotel and am told room won t be ready until 4pm, no problem. Head to the beach for a while then walk back into the lobby at 3:55pm. A line begins to form, 7-8 groups of people long and the front desk people, 4 of them, would not check anyone in until 4pm. With COVID, I was shocked that the staff would rather be petty about the check in time than move people out of the lobby quickly to avoid lines and congregating. Additionally, when we finally got to our room we had no towels or soap in the room. I have now been waiting for 2 hours from my first call to the front desk for soap and towels to take a shower after a long day in the car. In terms of cleanliness, it isn t great, but the view is wonderful and we assumed the pool would be closed. We weren t looking for 5 stars but the staff at check in and the fact that we have zero amenities in our room has started our trip off terribly. Unfortunate we are stuck here for 4 nights.

This facility is definitely aging. While we were there the power went out (no fault of the hotel). However, after the power went out not a single emergency light was illuminated. The hallways and stairwells were pitch black (not a single light). This is extremely dangerous and against fire code. This hotel should be condemned.

Very nice and their customer service is awesome. They called right after we got to our room wanting to know if everything is OK..Never had this happen anywhere else..Highly recommend

Showed up late evening after a 7 hour drive to find that the hotel manager had given our rooms away without calling to notify us. (Our reservations were made four months in advance of our planned stay and we called three days in advance of our check-in date to confirm our hotel reservations and make dinner reservations at the hotel's restaurant.) The front desk staff had no explanation as to why our rooms were given to other guests, never apologized and refused to call a manager to assist us. I am extremely disapponted and would not recommend making reservations at this hotel.

Great place to stay. The hotel is far away from the boardwalk , that's both good and bad. The good is that you won't have to worry about drunks and shootings, the bad is that it's far away from all the food and shopping. It has a public beach but because you're far away is really only people from the hotel so it's private. There is a decent restaurant inside the hotel that will deliver to your room. They have a shuttle service to and from the boardwalk every hour from the AM till late at night.

First and foremost, The employees of this Hotel are probably the nicest people on earth. Virginia is a loving State.

The hotel itself Flipping horrible. Everything here was dated, broken, dirty, and the pictures are defined not what you get in your room.

First day I arrived. I found BED BUGS in my room. One almost bit my daughter . Called Front Desk told them I wanted an upgrade all they did was change my room. I even brought the critter for proof. " oh that's just a carpet beetle. Two days later a nice Orkin guy popped up. The hallways were hot as balls.

The pool was broken on two of the hottest days of the summer and dirty a few other days. There was vomit and baby wipes .

The gym, don't get me started. It was non-existent weights were rusted, treadmills didn't function, the elliptical didn't work at all. It was just horrible.

The ice machines on the floors didn't work you had to go all the way to the restaurant to get ice.

This place needs a major renovation ASAP my room was $207 a night but damm sure want not worth it. I've been to motels that look way better.

Excellent conference facility. Accommodations were very nice. Had a very tasty cheeseburger and fries in the restaurant. Overall, a superior experience.

I was quoted a price of just under $93/night for a 2 night stay. I booked directly through the hotel phone number, and did not utilize any website. Room charge: $318.30 . Not disclosed upon booking was a $25.00 per night pet fee (and an additional $20/night hold on my account) even though I disclosed I was bringing my 12 pound, 13 year old dog. After expressing much irritation, the manager waived one night of the pet fee and offered booking elsewhere. Feeling trapped, I declined . "Nicki" , when I called to discuss my bank charges, was useless. Disclosing hidden fees upon arrival, versus when booking, is poor business practice!

If the positive reviews aren't from the hotel staff, then these people must live in the slums. Because for the money you pay this place is unacceptable, obviously it could be worse but hell at least I expect it when I stay at a cheap place.

My family and I spent 5 days at this hotel. It started off roughly when our room reeked of cigarrette smoke although being a smoke free floor. It took hours for someone to change our air filter. The pool was NASTY. It was green and reeked. Wouldnt let my family go near it. Then comes the stampede of bugs. Not only did we stumble upon a HUGE cockroach in the hallway, we then encountered one in our room. We will never return. The Wyndham in Virginia Beach needs a HUGE remodel or otherwise needs to be condemned. On the other hand, my family had a great time on the beach... just wish we picked a better hotel
