Nice hotel, away from the crowds but it is starting to show wear and tear, needs some upkeep

I don't recommend wasting your money here . This hotel has bedbugs

not the greatest or the cleanest definitely need some updating with the decor hot tub and pool area

My family and I stay at the Wyndham this weekend. It was definitely not up to standard. There were holes in the ceiling, the paint was chiping very badly, and the room was very small. It was more like staying in a Motel. The staff was nice. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

Halls are hot and muggy, rooms are great, food so far leaves much to be desired, but the employees make up for all of that. Wonderful views!

Staff was friendly. Bed was ok. But the noise was insane. You could hear everything from the broken building door, ice maker, people in the halls, next door, outside. Booked 3 nights would of left after the first but my wife had a races to run two days in a row. Took the lost and left a day early. Would have been better off sleeping in the car or a motel 6. Disappointing waste of money.

Courteous staff wonderful rooms and beautiful views, short car ride from the Boardwalk

Dirty and literally falling apart. Waited at bar for 15 min before bartender showed up. I cant believe Wyndam even has there name on the place! Everything was sticky. Blah!!!

Fantastic staff! Barry checked us in and was so nice and informative. The hotel was clean and well away from all the fuss and busy street traffic. The room was clean, spacious and well put together. We enjoyed our stay and will be back!

This place is a dump!! Left a horrible review on their fb and it was deleted. Rooms over priced, our room was disgusting..roof leaking, rags dirty, tub dirty, sheets not changed, room leaked onto our balcony. Roaches came from under the bed! Never book here ever!!

We stayed in a one room suite and the room was beautiful. I loved that the easy listening music station was playing when we walked in, it made me feel instantly relaxed. The front desk staff was great and I appreciated the welcome call shortly after check in.

First thought, everything about the room was great. Didn't have an oceanfront room, but already knew that we probably wouldn't. Loved how the beach is quiet and away from the boardwalk. My biggest problem is that when i went to sleep it was raining and I was woken up in the night by a very loud dripping noise. Our ceiling was leaking..room 514 ya'll definitely should fix that. I would've given 5 stars if it wasn't for that.

Love going there for drinks! Only wish there was more parking available

My girl and I stayed here for a night. All the employees were nice, helpful, and quick to offer any assistance. We are very particular about cleanliness so we wipe down EVERYTHING and we couldn't make this place look any better. Plus an absolutely AMAZING view of the beach. Worth every penny and then some.

I like how they care about the environment and notify me about events

Where should i begin. First its a beach hotel so not expecting it to be auperr clean. But basic clean would have been acceptable. The floors were wet for some reason mold was everywhere even outside on the patio. The patio door barely opened. The bathroom was the only decent place in the room. There were a couple of spiders in our bed the smell was ridiculous pls do not stay here at all. Mild everywhere

Pros- on the North end of the beach
So it was less crowded and removed from the hustle of the boardwalk.
Cons- restuarant inside was AWFUL! The pool has a scenic view of just the parking garage. The 2nd tower is detached from the main hotel making it forgotten. Carpets were disgusting and sticky. Wear shoes at all times, downstairs sliding door for entry was left open so waterbugs crawled in everywhere.

Just an overall run down and not updated or upkept hotel on the beach. It worked for my family for our weekend visit. Just don't expect too much.

Rooms are beautiful. We had one of the bigger rooms thought there would yabe been plates and stuff but there was not. Service was wonderful. The Restaurant food and service was amazing. There is a private beach right out back and not too far from the boardwalk

Booked the room that was oceanfront and had a balcony for our Anniversary. We walked in the hotel entrance the carpet was dirty and some of the rugs were taped down. The furniture in the room was dirty and the room was filthy. We did not stay got a refund and had to find another hotel to stay. We drove all the way from Delaware and was very disappointed!!!

The best part is the view. Ocean view/high floor are the best rooms. The room itself is just fine. When we were done at the beach we sat at the balcony to enjoy the view. Yes, as others mentioned pools seem dirty, hotel is outdated and far from the boardwalk, but we enjoyed ordering delivery locally from 'north end pizza" because we didn't like the food on site. Hence dropping a star. So you have delivery as an option. Come prepared with plenty of snacks and drinks specially if you have kids. We could not go to the boardwalk (overated) because the free shuttle does not run on Thursdays, so stranded for a day, no biggie, we were tired anyway. Ah, no complementary treat for Diamond members. .

Spacious rooms, friendly staff and great food. Plus this hotel being farther north is a great place to avoid the crowds at the beach.

Hey gang, I'm here currently. It has been challenging, I get that COVID19 is a thing but it has been an entire battle to get fresh towels or bathroom tissue. The pool wasn't open until today, despite being advertised when I booked my tickets last week. There is no housekeeping at the moment, so the floors are gross and need cleaned in a bad way, not to mention no bed linen changes. I really regret booking my entire week here, I suggest looking elsewhere unless you want to spend your time running errands for essentials.

Really nice room with an amazing view of the ocean!

The hotel was not the cleanest. I had no soap in my room. The hotel wasn't fully booked and i requested a late check out and was denied. Poor customer service. I have no desire to ever return to this hotel. Food server changed out food without any gloves and just pushed his way through guest and the food replaced wasn't even low at the time.

The only positive comment I will say was the view, it distracted me from the dirtiness in the hotel. First of all my friends had to wait 3 hours after check in which was 4, they didn t receive the room until 7pm but I guess that s the norm for this hotel. After viewing our room we instantly saw bugs from each corner of the room, but hey its clean right! We tried opening the handle of the balcony door and it instantly broke. The sheets are NOT clean, they re dirty and you will receive them with stains. I recommend you to bring your own sheets, towels, and pillows. By the way the bed might have bed bugs, good luck! If you re planning on staying here DONT, you will be disappointed.

Attended an event however unable to enjoy because the area was cold. Mention to staff member and she stated that are preparing for events later tonight with 400+ attendees. Guess she did not consider how supporters of these earlier events felt about being cold

House keeping on first shift for the 8th floor was wonderful... didn't like coming back to our room after dinner and finding someone had been in our room without permission...and didn't like the idea of having to make a few towels last us...there's notes in the room that said we had to use our towels twice especially when your at a beach..

Watch when booking at this hotel, you'll book a Oceanview room but when you arrive they give you partial ocean view. We booked a Oceanview room but our confirmation just said king-size bed, so they gave us partial ocean. If you must book this hotel. Do a screen capture of your room details. We also ran into another person whom this happened too, while staying at the hotel.

Don t fall for the online pics. This place is old, not very clean and has a bad odor. Disappointed.

Great beach seafood and hotel. Who could ask for more?

So tired of waiting around to get my room. They said I would have it by 4pm and they have us waiting in our car with my dog!!! I would have booked a better hotel but they don t take dogs so we re stuck!!!! Horrible experience!

Not very pleased with my two night stay. It was not clean, very expensive, and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone that doesn't have pets.

My grandparents came here in 2016 and they said the hotel was amazing. When we went this year our hotel room had a broken toilet. The food at the hotel was cold and not cooked all the way, the ranch dressing was not ranch. The hotel gym had no air conditioning and the floors in the gym looked like they were never cleaned before. Normal hotels don t make you pay for breakfast in the morning but this one does they also charged us 3.00 for a cup of milk. There are cockroaches inside and outside the hotel. The ice machine was broken and sprayed water all over us. The only thing we liked about this hotel was the beach view and the pool.

Showed up to a complete dump that sits away from all of the fun in VB. I stay in hotels about 200 nights a year and this is the worse I've experienced in a very long time.
Upon arrival, after finding your way through a tunnel of maze like parking lots you walk into a reasonable good looking reception area. However, the room was a complete dump and smelled of something dead. My girl and I casually joked about bed bugs only to have one...and if you've ever seen one you know what it is...run up my arm. I called the front desk and demanded my money back and he was more than happy to accommodate but absolutely silent when I asked of they'd heard this before.
The entire ordeal was repulsive down to the 1940's era decor and bar flies investing every inch of space in their "upscale" dump of a restaurant.
I don't understand the reviews. I'm usually quite easily impressed bur I've stayed in better quality places in such exotic places as Kosovo, East St. Louis, and the Norfolk City Dump. I don't understand anything for a positive review unless you have a car being overgrown by grass in front of your Arkansas double wide or you live in other comparable squalor.

Very rundown for what I expected from the brand. The layout was bizarre and the ground floor of our elevator was the parking garage, where anyone could have accessed our floor without any staff seeing them. Our shower had moldy tile grout and the toilet constantly ran. The indoor pool is super tiny. At one point we needed an extra blanket for my daughter. They brought a blanket that had the texture of a towel. We won't be staying at a Wyndham property again.

Pro: The location was awesome. Negatives: Room in disrepair, Evident Mold on Walls, Uncomfortable shaky beds, Heater difficult to use, and water temp scolding hot or cold. Also Broken pool and hot tub

Room was dirty. Sheets had blood on them and there was dirty underwear left from the last guest. Lots of stains. Wouldn't recommend

Gave a room that somebody was already in. The housekeeping took more than a day to get to our room. The place is totally mismanaged for sure.

You get what you pay for. The location is good, but the hotel and rooms were run down.

My boyfriend, Ryan, and I were here June 30 to July 3 and it was okay. We got room service the first night. I got the crab cakes and they were okay, nothing special. Ryan got the filet mignon medium well and the middle of the steak was raw and dark red. He called and someone came up to check on the steak, confirmed it was raw and sent up another one with two desserts. The second steak was almost as raw as the first one but he ate it. The desserts, however, one was a slice of chocolate cake and one a slice of coconut cake. They were delicious. And that was the first night.

Second day, Ryan went to the front desk to ask for clean towels. They said they would bring them up. We had to call the front desk twice before someone brought them up. The hallways and elevators in this hotel were hot, humid, sticky, probably unventilated.

Pros: the free shuttle to the boardwalk was very nice, we appreciated that. I loved being so close to the ocean. We had an oceanfront room and the live entertainment outside the restaurant at night was awesome. The a.c. unit was also amazing.

We had a nice time. The oil was small but nicely heated, hot tub was working this time, and construction was at min (last time we stayed there was a lot going on) we did have to evacuate the building several times because the fire alarms kept going off. We were moved outside until the fire dept cleared the hotel. Still don't know if it was a fire or what but they went of several times in the night. Also had some issues connecting my for stick to the tv but the help desk set someone right away top fix that with no problems. Over all it was a nice stay.

Bed was horribly sunken in the middle, making for an uncomfortable night of sleep and back pains the next morning. Burger from the hotel restaurant was overcooked to hell, leaving it dry and charred. Toilet was clanky and felt like it would break. Water pressure in the shower was weak.

+1 star for being pet friendly, but that may be the only reason to stay at this hotel.

Roaches outside on patio one ran across my foot, no towels had to wait 2 days for them.

Happy with say butbthe hot tub has been broken according to other guests for a couple of years. Clean.

Very bad attention ensure that when you make the reservation is as it is because when you do make the business with one there are no changes ... I made the reservation for 2 days I pay a lot of money for something like this next I have experience with this No more hotel I made the reservation for 4 adults 1 child with Queen beds that nothing to do tbn I asked room with a view of the sea and they gave me where they wanted nothing that they reserve are liars of SHIT !!!! charge to do not do anything right their work have nothing ethical ... I went to claim the reservation and everyone is crazy saying call the office and they do not answer you .... tomorrow I half a day but nothing satisfied with what these people of crap do .. I hope they will not tease you tbn ... or more in this hotel HORRIBLE !!!!

I held a 2 day conference here. The internet wasn't good even though they told me it would be. I didnt get food for the attendees because the prices were just highway robbery, they wanted over $400 for 4 pots of coffee! I know they have to mark up the prices on food but that was ridiculous. The restaurants food was slow, not good and overpriced. It has decent rooms and a great view but I won't hold my conference there again.

I was here for a wedding reception. I did not stay overnight. The food service was excellent and the wait staff was very kind. The food was quite tasty. I enjoy the steamship round of beef as well as a chicken roulade with a cream sauce. The salad was fresh and tasty. Wedding cake was just okay. The house wines they served were okay. Parking was easy. the setting was pleasant just a block off the beach and the accommodations in all the rooms were quite nice.

Actually it was very nice contrary to the past reviews of the hotel. Loved the location to the beach, the jacuzzi in the room, the surrounding restaurants the whole atmosphere. Couldn't have asked for better weather. Staff was courteous and responsive to our needs.

We checked in today. Had dinner at The Surf Grill and our surver Terry was excellent and the ford was fantastic

The sheets and walls had stains on them the pool was 4 feet but barely any pool there there was no space at all the hot tub did not work the heat was broken the room service was horrible we couldn't get any extra towels or blankets the balcony window would not completely close so being that our heat was broken we didn't receive any extra blankets we froze all night the front desk service was horrible they were rude and disrespectful I would not recommend this hotel to anyone even if I hated them this hotel sucks they don't even serve at least Continental breakfast which is the worst 100%the worst hotel experience I've ever had in my life boooo you suck

Went there for a work event. I would not stay there on my dime. My room smelled like a boys locker room. I called the front desk, they said I could possibly get another room, when another one was ready. I turned on the tv, after wiping the remote off as I do in every hotel. I was suprised at what came off the remote. (See picture) After 1hr nobody came to freshen my room. I finally caught a room attendant in the hallway and then she brought an air freshener that only worked for a few hours. I never was contacted about another room. I opened door to balcony in an attempt to air out room. I even poured a little shampoo on a wash cloth and draped it over a.c. to "freshen" the room. When checking out I did mention my room smell telling my checkout attendant about my room smell. She did not seem concerned nor did she apologize for the state of the room.

My positive experience relates to the bar / restaurant. I had great service from Jeremy in the bar. He was very attentive and was friendly, he also made some great recommendations on food and local brews!

Arrived, put me in room 309. Unpacked everything to find room in horrible condition. Then found out the air conditioning unit was broke. Moved up to floor 509 and then found tons of bugs on the ceiling with what looked to be water damage. Which I have 30 pictures between the 2 rooms. I wouldn t recommend going there as IT was not very pleased room. People were screaming and yelling and smoking pot which was coming Into our room. Had to keep balcony door closed. The lights in bathroom in 509 wouldn t come off. Had to have maintenance in and out. Telephone did not work in room with exposed wires. As I do have picture of everything. Will not return to this place ever again. Very unpleasant.

When we come down for the NAS Oceana Air Show we always stay at this hotel...Friendly staff, clean room, nice pool

I got there around 5:20 am and the jet tub in the room had a quarter of water in it and it was supposed to be partial ocean, there was no partial view, then sent us to another room and it had no jetted tub and was having a hard time to find a room as we had reserved, I gave up after 25 min or so and left.I was told I would be refunded even though it was a non refundable room and then only returned one night because it was supposed to be non refundable. I will be calling corporate this has been the worst experience ever. I should have all my money back because it was the hotels fault.

I was there for a hiring conference and the rooms were standard. Very nice restaurant and staff. The beach is right there and it's wonderful. I will come back someday.

Good facility for a small conference or meeting. Could use some updates to the guest rooms. There are not many dining options near this hotel.

A really cool bar and restraunt. The outdoor patio is like a private boardwalk on the beach. Older but still a nice hotel.

Worst experience ever! Booked a different location and needed to change to this hotel. First off, they did not mention that the check in age is 21. This was for my 18-year-old daughter and her friends. They refused to check her in at all. I drove 3 hours at midnight to get them into a room as they were sleeping in the hallway. I get it rules are rules, but any accommodations would have been nice. We then had 5 people in a room with 2 double beds. Not 1 time were we offered an extra pillow, a cot, etc. Really?

After finally getting settled in, we noticed so many things that had not been cleaned. The only thing that appeared to be done in our room were the bare surfaces. We had old coffee in our coffee pot and paper cups. Light switches, toilet paper holder covered in dust. Gross. It was difficult to understand the lack of cleanliness as the maids were very nice and helpful.

The pools were so dirty we were afraid to swim in them. I did see the maintenance man check the levels both days, but not once scooped any dirt floating in water. Hallways and elevators so dirty also.

As we were checking out, we were asked how our stay was by a very nice lady. She was disturbed by our initial check in and got us a manager who did not care whatsoever about our issue. He continued to state that they have policies to follow, blah blah blah. Never offered anything for our trouble. After wasting my time to talk with management we were ushered away with absolutely no concession or compassion. As if this is not enough, the poor girl who helped us was fired instantly for trying to improve our situation. Who fires someone for helping a customer??

Just checked in, so maybe it ll grow on me. Me and my SO arrived at 630 PM to find that the room we reserved was not available due to us having our small dog with us. They gave us instead a sliding door access to the side of the hotel on the first floor. Before arriving to the room, we came into the southern entrance to what seemed to be a toilet overflowing into the hallway. Maintenance was on it, however the leak seems to be getting into rooms beside us.

Once checking into the room, we found wires that were poking out from the AC unit (which we were assured weren t live and couldn t hurt our dog) and the sliding door not being able to be closed from the outside. The room was very small and looked as if it was hastily redone to keep up appearances.

From a secure point of view, I am afraid to leave the hotel room as my dog or my personal items may disappear.

This is what 648$ gets you at Wyndham VA beach. The front desk would not let us upgrade from our current room (we were told they were sold out, understandable)

The pool and spa as we're not in service. The oceanfront room had filthy windows, the inner room was clean but the hallway windowsills were dirty and the carpet in the hallway really needed a vacuum. We had requested a pet friendly room, but we're not told until we arrived that an extra 25.00 a night was charged per pet. Was not very impressed, will try somewhere else the next time.

Stayed at this hotel about 2 weeks ago and was super disappointed that we drove for 6 hours and had two dogs with us. Check in was at 4 and when we got there they told us it wasn t ready and we had to wait for a call. Two more hours went by before we could even check in. It was already basically a waste of our first day. Really inconvenient.
