If Philadelphia 201 cost as much as everybody else, I wouldn't be giving them 5 stars, because there are probably other places just as nice. But I got a great deal here after going through a bunch of discount codes. The room was nice, typical of an AAA 3 star hotel. The interior was exceptionally pleasant. Service was good. The location was perfect! I took the train and had an easy walk to the hotel, even with baggage. From the hotel, most tourist attractions are an easy walk. When I made the reservation, breakfast did not appear to be included, but when I checked in, the comped me breakfast every morning. I don't know if they do that for everybody, or because I guilt tripped them for not having my exact room ready at 4. The room was fine, but I reserved a queen and they gave me 2 doubles, because I didn't want to wait an extra 30 minutes. Hooray for guilt! Breakfast was delicious. Omelets to order. Reasonable variety of breakfast items, but above average quality.

Front desk staff were professional. Rooms were spacious. Bathrooms and rooms quite dated. Beds and linens clean, but not terribly comfortable. Pillow selection was nice. Hotel location was good. Breakfast included in some room rates.

Terrible service, rude rude front desk agents. Unbelievably rude. Definitely will not be returning. Very disappointing and this is a Marriott property. Shame. Room was dirty that they made me wait 4 hours for. What a waste of a vacation.

It was a really good stay, they were accommodating and nice. We asked for a king bed and they gave us a handicapped room which had more space. The room seemed clean and the beds were nice.

I completely regretted booking at this place for a wide variety of reasons. I would probably have given them 1.5 stars because it seemed like they were doing renovations. I saw little evidence of that except that facilities were closed and the name of the place was being changed. The garage was closed, but we were made aware of that before booking. I was pleased with that, because there wouldn't have been anywhere else for us to park. Luckily, we had free valet parking through the Visit Philly package, which we got through the Philly city website. Otherwise, valet parking would have been $42 per day. More frustrating than no free parking was the fact that the pool was closed, there is no continental free breakfast (or even free coffee in the lobby) even though it advertises free breakfast, you have to pay for their wifi even though they say its free, and the hotel advertises a terrace restaurant that does not exist. You can eat at the bar in the hotel lobby, but you may as well be at Applebee's. They serve generic coffeehouse drinks and bagels, etc. during the day, but coffee was $3 for a small. The staff was generally nice, but the problem is that they clearly lack leadership. There was no real interaction when I checked in nor when I checked out. They just asked for my name and processed the paperwork. The maids I saw in the hall smiled to me and seemed pleasant, but also seemed to lack leadership. They came to my room for cleaning service before we were ready (no big deal), but then never returned. The room wasn't dirty, but it was missing things. There were no face towels, so I had to wash my face with a hand towel. There were no cups, so if you need a drink at night or need to take medicine you'd have to stick your head under the sink. The hotel was out of date as well. There was minimal lighting in the rooms and hallways, and the lights that were there were covered with yellow plastic shades that made it look very strange. The carpeting was additionally very dark and had what I hope was bleach stains from cleaning. The walls also had some weird puke yellow fabric material. It felt like you were on the Titanic when the ship sinks and everything is dark and creepy, but the water hasn't rushed in yet. When we left, I searched for other hotels we could have stayed at. There were many with equally convenient locations at similar or better prices that did not have lacking facilities or bad management. I will return to Philadelphia, but not to this hotel.

Staff were great. Hotel is very aged. From carpets, to mattresses and pillows to the office desk with electric outlets falling out, it is in need of drastic investment I wouldn't stay there again unless this happened.

Great location.Everyone was very friendly. we were impressed with the beautiful lobby . The staff was always very friendly and helpful: front desk, parking, local lounge, and my housekeeper during my stay.

Stayed here for the Global Gene's Drug Development Symposium 2019 and the room was comfortable (although did not have a refrigerator) and the valet service was friendly (although very expensive). There is a dog park around the corner which proved to be very convenient since I had my fur-baby with me. The burger in the restaurant was very tastey. I wasn't a fan of the deviled eggs though. Check in and check out was quick and painless which I appreciated since I am always on the run and can't afford to waste time standing in lines.

I stayed in this hotel with my family in May 2018. Read the then French one and a half. Toilet without a bidet that is difficult to find in America. Long lines for checkin and checkout.

I stayed at Philadelphia 201 during Columbus Day weekend for a quick vacation. This was my first trip visiting Philadelphia. It's an extremely good location for walking to the Natural Science Museum, Barnes Foundation, Rodin Museum, and the Philadelphia Art Museum. At nights it was convenient to visit many restaurants downtown and although it was a bit further out of the way, it was still not a bad walk to the Liberty Bell and other parts of the Old City.
Tourists should be aware that there was a homeless camp on Vine St. between the hotel and Logan Square. I didn't have any issues, but some people might not feel comfortable depending upon time of day. Take Race St. instead.
Parking was $50 a night for the valet service, but there was a garage the next block over.
Check-in and check-out went smoothly, except when I first pulled in there was no place to park my car and I had to circle the block until a spot became available.
The rooms weren't terribly out of date, but they did seem to be poorly maintained. There were stains on the carpets and sheets, there was a cut in the window drapes, and there were a lot of scuff marks on the furniture. As others have mentioned, the hotel is going through a renovation. I didn't have issues except on Monday morning at 7 AM I could hear some sort of machine running back and forth on the floor above me and I couldn't get back to sleep.
I checked in on Saturday and left on Monday. During that time, I noticed that there were several food service trays that were never cleaned up in the hallway, which was kind of gross.
I had the breakfast buffet in the lobby one morning and was deeply unimpressed. I was done with my first plate before the waiter bothered to get me coffee. The waiter was very nice about it and comped me my meal. That was nice, but you can find better food nearby. It would probably be fine for a quick meal.
I was torn on whether to give this hotel a 2 or 3 star review. In the end, it's a really good location, the price wasn't horrible for a big city, and they are attempting to fix some of their problems so I will give them 3 stars.

Just checked in. I wanted sleep but rooms are being renovated and everything is broken. Can t close drapes so light comes in
Toilet keeps running after flush
Aircon is very noisy next to the bed and when it s switched off it keeps running.
Telephone connection loose and not working
To late to find another hotel but I recommend staying away. All we wanted was a quiet dark room to sleep after our night flight. Very disappointed room 720

We checked in at six in the evening. The tall girl at the front desk greeted us cheerfully and with excitement.
She really made our day after my long drive. She explained the necessary details in a brief conversation yet complete.
We stayed at the third floor with a nice view facing the east side of Oxford Valley Road. The double bedroom with two beds is roomy and the space was really good.
I am very sure the Sheraton Housekeeping takes very good care of its tidy and cleanliness of the room, as our room was neat and very clean.
The oval shape indoor heated pool at the lower level was superb.
I took my kids to the pool at around ten in the morning. They enjoyed it very much.
It was like our private pool, because nobody else was around, l.o.l.
We loved the Sheraton Hotel, and we would definitely come again.Thank you

Hot water was in short supply my five mornings. Staff was 100% super apologetic and did everything to make up for it. The remodel is coming along well though. I suggest asking if the water issue is resolved before booking.

The location can't be beat. The service was mostly amazing except at check-in where the lineup was super long. The rooms are dated, but the hotel exterior is going through a massive overhaul.

My wife, 2 kids and I stayed at the Sheraton Center City in Philadelphia. I have to say I was very disappointed in the hotel. Could not get into the parking garage and the workers were very unhelpful. The bathroom as dirty (there was a ball of hair hanging from the faucet). The room had 2 double beds, but there were only 2 towels, no wash clothes, and 1 hand towel. There were rolls of toilet paper under one of the beds (out of the wrapper). Also, I had forgotten my tooth brush at home, but there were no complimentary or any place to buy a tooth brush. All in all, I expected much better from a hotel in the class of a Sheraton. And apparently I was not the only one since there were several guests complaining about the hotel when I checked out.

Not bad really. Just needs to have a microwave and refrigerator in the room. Its a miracle that they had a coffee machine. They also need to clean their lobby bathroom by the gift store. Other than that, the staff was very nice and the location wasn t that far from the restaurants and other common places near center city. I wouldn t mind staying there again.

Bed bugs and dirty not a great combination. Complained to them and all they did was apologize. I feel that is terrible customer service. I would never go back and because they did not offer to refund back any money or offer to stay at another property I will never stay at a strawood property again. Very dissappointing. I even sent them pictures of black mold and many stains on the carpet and walls but still nothing. Do not waste your money.

I had an issue in my room with the stopper in the sink , not working properly. Also, the shower and bath didn't work properly. The pulley to change from Bath to shower didn't come up all the way. Other than that it was clean beautiful and have wonderful pool. The water was nice and warm.

Great location, great potential with the remodel, our room was good, but still had some visible wear. The valet company damaged our rental car. They are a company that was hired by the hotel, and trying to document the incident was a pain, no real help from the front desk. We took pictures, filed a claim with the valet company, talked with managers and left town thinking that we had all bases covered. 4 months later we get hit with a $900 bill from the rental car company, saying that the valet never returned a call, never responded to inquiries on the claim. Again, I know that these are not hotel employees, but this is their vendor interacting with their customers. Because of this, I will find another place to stay next time I am in Philly, and I will self park for sure.

I picked this hotel from name brand recognition (Sheraton's are typically pretty solid) and the newish affiliation with Marriott. I'm here for a conference so there were several options but this had a name I like and pretty close to convention center. Mistake. I just checked in yesterday. Front desk staff at check-in was very nice. I had a late check-in due to flight delays but excellent service throughout the day nonetheless. I am handed a key and my room is 3-digits? Floor 1? Is that even a thing? I accidentally hit '12' in the elevator because I assumed - incorrectly - that I was surely on the 12th floor. Sure enough, there's a floor 1 two floors above the lobby. The hallway smelled of food. Got into my room. Peeling wallpaper, no room service menu (it was 9:50pm, called down for a menu, by the time I received it room service was closed, closes at 10pm). Quick segue - there is not room service EXCEPT between the hours of 5pm and 10pm. Crazy. Anyway, no dinner, tiny room ($300-ish a night), floor 1, peeling wallpaper - I'll just have a hot tea and wash my face. Made the hot tea, went for a cream - ONE CREAM and it's ALREADY OPEN. In addition, the only 'yellow' sweetener was already peeled open and empty. Drank the tepid bottle of Dasani (no fridge in room) and went to bathroom. Old, stained shower curtain. Went to bed. Street noise TERRIBLE - remember 1st floor, windows facing street, pretty sure a bus revved its engine all night.

So no hotel room coffee the next morning - had to be at a meeting at 8am and no creamer or sweetener in the room so... Hit the Starbucks Lite in the lobby and it was fine, but definitely not Starbucks quality.

I want to go down and complain but I'm just going to go with it. I read some other reviews just now and it seems as if they *might* move me if I complain but from reading it appears I'll be moved to another version of the same room. I mean with travel you swing a ton and it's not uncommon to miss - this is a significant miss. And there's no excuse. The lobby is fine. The hotel - I am SHOCKED this is a Sheraton. Again - there is NO EXCUSE for this and I'm here for 3 more nights. Live and learn.

UPDATE CHECK-OUT DAY:
The in-room coffee saga continued. Yesterday morning I left a note alongside the mountain of plain sugars near the coffee machine and asked for more Equal please with a $5. Arrived after a full conference day to the note and $5 gone, and ONE Equal packet alongside even more plain sugars.

This was after getting to the room and seeing my room key card didn't work and having to go downstairs and stand in a line for 25+ minutes to get my card re-keyed.

No. I do NOT recommend this hotel. I have peers staying in all the surrounding hotels. No complaints. LOTS of other options. Steer clear of this one.
