This is the worst hotel experience I have ever had. It started with some obnoxious issues, like the room forgot to supply shampoo, had what looked like melted purple jolly ranchers on the carpet, and had a sink that did not drain, and it just went downhill from there. At 2am, an emergency siren went off telling us to stay in our rooms, and to not enter the hallway, stairwells, or elevators. This was pretty scary, but I understand that the siren is not the hotel's fault. What IS the hotel's fault is not supplying any information after the alarm went off; it just turned off, leaving us scared about what to do next. My husband and I waited for some time to hear something telling us that things were ok, and when we did not, he ended up calling the front desk to inquire about our safety. About 15 minutes after the call, the intercom came on again to say the hotel had been secured by Philadelphia police, it was now ok to enter the hallway, and that anyone who was told to evacuate could return. That's a long time to leave people wondering about their safety. What's more, they then forgot to turn the intercom off, and for at least 1.5 hours there was random digital noise/varied static filling the room. On top of all that, housekeeping tried to barge in at 8:30, which we have never had happen when we stay at a hotel for 1 night. Oh, and I would be remiss if I did not mention the terrifying parking garage, which was ACTUALLY FALLING APART in some areas; it was a dangerous under-construction zone. I will never return to this Sheraton or use any other Sheraton hotels again.
