Please, please, please stay away from this facility!!!
This place is a money grab and nothing more.
Willowbrooke at Tanner will do anything and everything to keep you there as long as they can.
It must be nice to have Tanner Hospital sending you a steady stream of Cash Flow, also known as patients.
They need your insurance money badly and will do whatever it takes to squeeze every dollar they can out of it.
Any investigative reporter would have a field day with this place.

I'm kinda in shock at seeing such low reviews! I have had an (all things considered, being having to have your child at any mental health facility is never fun nor a happy time) wonderful experience here! They staff was absolutely fantastic! I was terrified for my child in the beginning as any parent would be...but they were in constant contact with me throughout the entire process and my child has come along immensely. Highly recommend!!!!

My mother went into this facility clean and came out dirty!!! thanks Willowbrook. Let me not forget to mention that she was able to either steal another patients medicine or was mistakenly given the BAG of medication. But hey it s just a human error .....PATHETIC FACILITY.

I was a patient here for 3 days in 2009. The experience was absolutely horrifying. I understand certain measures are necessary when dealing with patients but telling them that crying and getting very upset is not going to get them out of there much faster is NOT the best route to take, especially given the circumstances that people are admitted.

Very rude employees and do not really care for people just want there money. My experience consists of me driving 2 hours to this place to pick my friend up that had been discharged, when I got there it is impossible to get in, almost impossible to talk to someone and when we finally got someone to answer the call box they were extremely rude and said you have to be patient even tho I've been outside almost a hour. If it was up to me I would shut this pos down!!!

I checked myself into willowbrook for depression and a needed rest from stresses. They actually made it worse, they seem to prey on your weaknesses amd attempt to shame the patients. You were only given paper thin scrubs when you entered the program,I wasnt able to shower orgiven a change clothes for the first three days I was there. The description of this hospital is NOT the care one would recieve, many of the "extras",such as,eating outdoors and fancy court yards arent utilized, most of the time is spent in a room with a tv and 30+ other patients..Its more like a prison than a treatment hospital.Find another facility if able..

Ms. Quan and Mr. Austin are amazing group leaders and food is pretty good. I'm currently in adolescent outpatient care for my depression, anxiety, PTSD, OCD, and ADHD. They have helped me so much and most of the patients are super nice and funny. Only four stars because when the other girls say things that shouldn't be talked about at dinner due to triggers for things, the staff don't do much about it. Just question you on WHY you feel this way and WHAT can be done about it. You know, talking to the girls about saying things like that would be great. Still better than Ridgeview and I love this outpatient care.

My Memes went unnoticed. I did not watch all of the seasons of Rick and Morty 30+ times over to be treated as if I'm stupid. I really needed some Xanax, if only there was an easy way to make money. A shame no one gets my humor, because my IQ is too high for most people to get my jokes. Lots of love,

My husband went to the hospital for a referral, he wasn't suicidal, didn't have a plan. He was just having anxiety, stress from work. They put him on a 1013 wrongfully. Most places don't throw you in a hospital if you aren't suicidal or have a plan.

Couldn't agree more about how this place is horrific. I brought more daughter there voluntarily for her behavioral problems with me. The "intake counselor" was a young black woman who clearly hated anyone white. Let me tell you my story. I started outlining my child's behavior and she was not making any eye contact or showing any emotion- just typing away at her computer. Even when I told her that my daughter wanted to kill me. No emotions at all. Then suddenly, a pause and a comment- "Sounds like you have been through a lot. Would you like an assessment?" Not really knowing what that meant, but thinking they were going to evaluate how depressed I was and how they could help me I answer their survey. At the end I was asked do you have flexible hours at your job? I said that it was somewhat flexible and here's what she tells me...I have decided you will start our 6 week program M-F from 9am-2pm program. You will have counselors, take part in group therapy. Meanwhile she never mentioned this program is for drug addicts. My mom and daughter were in the waiting room while I was held prisoner with an ARMED GUARD in front of me. That didn't stop me for a second. I demanded they get me a real doctor so I could explain that I was not a DRUG ADDICT but rather an abused mother. Reluctantly the black chic goes to the hallway where I hear her telling him that I am a real mess and need to be in 'their program'. I also hear her go to the front desk and call family services so I knew they would be showing up at some point. I don't think it was a real doctor. Never introduced himself, just walked on in, sat down with a twisted smile and actually didn't say a word to me. Just stared at me. Guess he was thinking about how much he hated white people too. Finally I decide to break the silence and say what I am really thinking. I tell him that this place is a mess, they have no clue what the hell they are doing, I came to them to get my daughter's behavior accessed but they pulled her into a separate assessment room with my mother while I was interrogated by the black enforcement team. And they would NOT show me the paperwork of her assessment. They broke HIPPA laws, forcing my mom to sign up my daughter for a kiddie psycho program. I have news for them- my mom isn't the guardian- I am the one who needed to sign the freaking paperwork and they would not show it to me. Finally the morons present me with a list of psychiatrists and say it might take a while to get an appointment. Found that interesting. If they thought it was no big deal for me to wait weeks or months for a psych appointment they could have just emailed me the next day with the referrals. No, instead I was held against my will for a period lasting over 4 hours. I was asked if I wanted water. I said yes. The black hater said I will be right back. She comes back and says 'Oh sorry. The refrigerator was locked'! Seriously, I doubt that. I point out to her that the last victim's paperwork was sitting on top of her desk with his social security number on it for the world to see. I made it clear that again I am not a loser, make good money, and don't need my social security # stolen by one of the real psychos they bring in for interrogation. Finally was allowed to leave only to have DCFS ring my bell about 2 hours later to interrogate me more. They interviewed my mom, daughter and brother. Was waiting for her to ask the dogs and parakeets if I was a psycho. After the interrogations were over the case worker concluded that I was NORMAL- shocker! My daughter gave her a tour of the most spoiled kids's bedroom in the world. She is the furthest thing from neglect on the planet. Taxpayer money was wasted on me.
Just know this much- If you are not living in GA and are thinking of moving here, you need to change those plans FAST. If you live in GA and hate it, run for your life. If you live in GA and love it, well then you obviously belong here. Good luck with that. Hope you aren't wrongly thrown into a mental program, institution or jail.

Absolutely terrible. The staff has always been pleasant, however, the transportation is a nightmare. They have FORGOTTEN my child multiple times. She does not have a cell phone. There was no way of knowing she was never picked up until THEY called at 7pm and stated she was absent. I drove to her school and she had been sitting outside since 3:30 with absolutely no way to contact anyone and scared. The school was locked up and she was alone. EXTREMELY TERRIBLE TRANSPORTATION. My child could have tried to walk home the 2 miles on a busy road and got hit buy a car or kidnapped, there is no telling what could have happened. This place does not seem to put a priority on ensuring the safety and well being of children in this program. Clearly the children in this program are struggling with mental issues and this place has made it worse. They need to get it together bc there is ABSOLUTELY no excuse to forget a kid. This is not acceptable and they need to hire more help or someone competent enough to pick up the patient. They have stated the have had issues with transportation but this is ridiculous and UNACCEPTABLE.

Ran by the Worst of the Worst people as another review said "Ghetto" which describes it well. They are Thieves running their own setup that Tanner Allows.
Shamed and Disgraced to Tanner. Tanner has lost all my faith and I will not be using that hospital for anything. Not even if it meant life or death. Just to know they are affiliated with such a barbaric institution with no Qualified Staff is horrible.
No Doctors on staff that I saw, the rules are made up by the "JUNGLE" Apes who run it. No rule is ever the same. Cameras are in all places for them to view your every move even in the bed rooms.
No healing will ever take place here. Only abuse, shock and horror. The only way one would get better is to 'shock them from ever having to go to that place again. A complete disgrace to Carroll and Douglas Counties. Even worse Disgrace to Tanner.

Words can not even begin to describe how grateful ...

Words can not even begin to describe how grateful I am to WB. I participated in the Regain program that they offer. It is an 8 week, give or take, program that treats addiction. They meet 3 days a week for 3 hours at a time. I brought myself in to WB with the hopes that they could help me with an alcohol addiction. Brian Gibson, who is the head of the program, is PHENOMENAL. If you are seeking help with an addiction and do not require inpatient treatment, you will definitely find what you are looking for with the Regain program. I have been clean for 105 days and I owe a lot of that to Brian and Ann. Do not think that they are miracle workers though. You have to go in willing to do the hardwork as well. But they will be there the whole time to help you do that work. I am guessing places like this get a lot of bad reviews because they do not want the help or are going in to a program without much choice on their part. I am SO glad I did not pay attention to the negative feedback as this was a life changing program for me. Thank you Willowbrook.

NONE of the doctors located just around the hospi...

NONE of the doctors located just around the hospital are on staff. What does that tell you?? They have to recruit doctors from afar and even then they have had DOZENS of doctors to come and go. As it stands now it appears they have a handful of contract doctors and a few doctors that somehow they've managed to hold onto and a lot of NP's to see patients and to my knowledge none or most of them are NOT certified in psychiatry. The administration has education in counseling and I guess playing the game to get where they got to and it's one big pot of nepotism. It is a small miracle that many haven't died in the facility as far a while there was not even a defibrillator that is readily available on airplanes, buses, etc. Kids having sex on the units, tattoing each other, kids escaped and ended up in Florida and one was injured. One patient escaped years ago and carjacked a woman and everything is kept hush hush. A nearby facility in Newnan wanted a hospital to serve their community and the ring leader to keep them from opening was this hospital. The administrator Wayne Senfeld I won't even get into. I once thought he was ok but now....hmm...I think nothing of him. He's now promoted to VP of Business Development supposedly but Paula Gresham I think is sitting in the chair as the administrator. Doctors are treated like garbageIthis one was and I think i can get others to attest) and the doctors they get has been like a revolving door. ADMINISTRATION has access to audio and video surveillance throughout the facility and for what reasons or purposes I don't know. The entire place needs to be investigated and TMC in general needs to be investigated by higher authorities and a good clearing out of as the community deserves better. In my opinion , this is a good ole boy system orchestrated out of Carrollton (the main hospital campus of TMC) that has been running the show in the community. They claim to be a not for profit community hospital when in fact they are a hospital that has taken over in the community. It's an awful situation and only in rural GA i would imagine this whole thing would be allowed.

Very unprofessional place.. they don't care about people and only want their insurance money.. I wouldn't recommend that you go this place or let anyone in your family go to this place.. the staff is very disrespectful. They treat you less than human the whole 5 to 7 days you are there. The staff is known to physically abuse the people getting treatment there and if you use the phone to call the police, the police have an agreement with willowbrooke to arrest you for calling the police because you are being abused... They lock you out your room all-day so that you can't sleep and are forced to stay in the day room all-day.. the food is bad.. it be warm up two day old food from the main hospital... They make you wait 24 hours after getting there before you can see a doctor and get your meds. They will also switch you from the meds you normally take and give you what they feel you should have. This place should be shut down as soon as possible.. alot of people have brought lawsuits against this place for being abused and alot of people have loss because this place love to use the fact that a person had illegal drugs in their system in the ER prior to arriving to Willowbrooke as a reason as to why that person shouldn't be creditable as telling the truth about the abuse and also that drugs is why the staff had to use abuse on the person.. As the ER do drug test people before the ER send them to Willowbrooke.. with that said, just because a person had a positive test for drugs don't mean that the staff at Willowbrooke can physically abuse a person there and get away with it... These people are suppose to be trained on how to deal with people high on drugs or going through drug withdrawal or mental health problems.. Save yourself and or your family member alot of misery and pain by not going to this place for help/treatment... These people are not good at their jobs and are really uncertified to be doing the work that they do...

This place is a joke. Don't waste your time or energy going here. My family worked hard to get a suicidal alcoholic admitted. Miraculously he was cured in 3 days and ready for outpatient, A.K.A., no insurance. The only way you can go there for treatment without insurance is if the state orders it. So, if you need treatment and can't afford it, get wasted and do something illegal and then ask the state to pay for it.

No stars but had to do one to leave a review. I had a family member at Willowbrooke, they did absolutely nothing for them. Besides to try and find ways of discharging them before the Thanksgiving holidays which they succeeded; even thought the family member was suicidal and caused self harm to themselves. Willowbrookes didnt even notice the self harm until family questioned them about it. SHAME ON YOU WILLOWBROOKE!!! What if it were your family member? I bet it would have been different. Staff even admitted that they lied about hiding the fact that my family member was still suicidal. Once a family member complained to Tanner, Willowbrooke took it out on the family member that was an inpatent there. Again SHAME ON YOU WILLOWBROOKE!!! If you cannot be there and do your job correctly maybe you need to find another field to work in that you enjoy. Let someone that has compassion and understanding do your job now. My family member is now in another inpatient center which actually does care and helping them.

I am a recovering addict that tried to take my own life and had I read the negative comments before I checked myself in... I would either be dead or sitting in a jail cell because that is far from the experience I had at Willowbrook. Ultimately, it was the best decision I made in my life and the staff at Willowbrook provided excellent care to me during my stay. They treated me like a normal person and didn't judge me. The staff ran the hospital in a very structured manner to teach patients how to live like an adult again not an addict.

Ultimately this place saved my life and I would highly recommend this hospital for those who are truly ready to get the help they need and deserve. (Much gratitude to Ann for touching my life and helping me understand how to deal with my fears).

I am a distinguished, successful person. Once again I am posting my review. My main concern was dehydration. I lost about 17 pounds in the week I was there, and my doctor told me it was all water weight. I couldn't get water. They told me there was a water fountain, but I didn't want to use that after every meth head in west georgia has used it, no offense.

The outpatient program was great, but the inpatient part of the hospital is horrifying! Unfortunately I've been in other places prior to here, so I know what to expect, or so I thought. They keep men and women on the same hall, across from each other. I have a fear of men from being raped and abused. The last thing I would want or need is to be a few feet away from men who obviously have some sort of psychiatric problems, while I'm trying to sleep. I had a panic attack in the cafeteria because I was surrounded by a group of men who stunk, had attitudes and mouths like a sailor. All the staff did was take me back to the "ward" and left me there, alone (I did not get anything to eat either). I locked myself in the bathroom and cried. No one, not even one person came to check on me. I stayed in there for almost an hour. I prayed for God to get me out of there. I went there for help and ended up in hell.

Treated like a criminal not someone who needs some kindness or understanding in with addicts, criminals and people who wants to live there.Play mind games visitation hours in pamphlet wrong family don't know hours. You are demoralized, humiliated, emotionally manipulated. I was told if my family didn't accept me back I would taken to homeless shelter in Atlanta and this was never a option but I scared and alone this is only one example they don't let you speak to nurses everything goes through techs because they are to busy for medical needs see dr once medical about my 3 day there I developed a kidney problem I had blood in my urine took nurse to see she said tell dr for 3 days I told everyone no one cared at night bathrooms locked had to walk down hallway multiple times a night to go to restroom.paper scrubs stripped searched looked for lice 30 people in room with uncomfortable chairs, lukewarm water to drink, the staff stating patient stinking but had been out of deodorant for days family couldn't bring.Men,women, young adults all hoarded together. Long waits for phone. On to of all this the day I was released they made me go to lunch I told them my family was on the way they stated they would send someone to get me since were constantly on lockdown when I returned I asked and they said no one had came to pick me up when in reality they were sent away when I became upset tech said that doesn't happen they just didn't show but the almighty nurse said they had because short staffed during lunch.Left for hours in group room no television no way to lay down no activities but between 10 and 12 allowed back in room around 9 PM 3 bathrooms available during day for 30 people this place was a joke if you go there just pray to make it through because they could care less

My daughter was self admitted, we were both going through a rough time, they were also concerned about me, and asked me if i would like help, I declined but appreciated the fact that they realize when a parent takes a child to a place like Tanner, its not something a parent ever dreams of having to do, I thought it was great that they also realized the whole thing was hard on me too.

She ended up staying a few days, and after school therapy, I think it was great for her, she met a lot of kids with emotional problems, and they respected the fact that i did not want her put on medication, they do listen to the parents, and they work with the parents and kids to make the family healthy again, i can't say things are perfect now, but she has her coping skills and i have learned a lot too, things are a LOT better.... they took great care of her when she was there and i got a chance to visit, if a child is ever a danger to herself or others this place has wonderful doctors and compassionate staff that really help.

My trip to Willowbrook began with stress hives killin my birthday plans for the weekend. I went or the er to get vistaril the only cure, too potent to need daily only one weekly when the hives started. I had no idea it was stress causing my physical body to suffer so harshly.Back then my worst mental symptom was memory . Unaware of my war from birth with silent demons in my head. Having multiple major illnesses Is a war not a battle most are born into and unaware of. Willowbrook identified big symptoms I possesed even at age
5. Symptoms that were documented but never diagnosed. My trips to places like willow brook started at 14 with Northwest Regional, even completed long term in/outpatient drug rehab for my medical marijuana "addiction" (lame i know) By the time Willowbrook was my birthday weekend, my tramatic life was pretty ok but for the hives, and memory problems starting. I was not in a mental crisis i thought, just bad humor (story of my life) and hives. I had no choice with a 1013 suicide/homicide risk, so i took the much needed retreat. I was surprised at the level of good i received litteralt due to their therapy system schedule. I did not feel hungry one time, they feed ya good!! My only complaints was the rain on my birthday weekend, and the serious adberse mental effects i seem to suffer from 90% of all pharmas ive attempted, hince the "pothead" persona. Lol I think its time to retreat and finaly make some ground in this war ive been in with life. I know there is always growing pains, but dont you get a break ever? See yall soon.

The staff here are incredibly kind and cordial. They treat patients like human beings, and allow you to have input on your treatment. For the most part, the food is yummy, and you get a choice of what you want to eat. There was just enough group therapy to allow rest and relaxation as well as time to discuss the reason why you came. Expressive Therapy is a daily group that I always looked forward to, and I liked that it was the last scheduled therapy group of the day. During free time, direct Care staff show movies and do request your where you can choose a song for them to play on a Bluetooth speaker. This place is amazing!

Incompetently staffed; the warm bodies on the phone do not relay information to the patients. 'Doctors' with what might equate to a GED or University of Jamaica degree. (Scratch that, high school GED diplomas trump these candy stripers) and on top of all that, they seem to be confused as to which individuals are patients and which individuals are people. I hope someone guts all funding for this corrupt institution. Please return my loved one to me.

Unfortunately, my child needed inpatient services. I can say, I was amazed by the quality of care, as well as Dr. Richard is an outstanding Doctor! He assisted us in many ways ,heck made me look at myself with my behaviors. I am sorry the last couple of reviews the people did not seem to get the level of care the needed this is a great place. I hope they did/do not give up. I was pleased with the inpatient and the out patient services my family received. I am not ashamed to post my name we all have set backs..

I would strongly suggest looking elsewhere if you'...

I would strongly suggest looking elsewhere if you're in need of a place for genuine help. This center focuses too much on wanting to detox patients and absolutely refuse to prescribe medications that you know work best for you. I take xanax on an as needed basis and it works so well for my anxiety. One of the nurses lied and said that I'd never find a psychiatrist that would prescribe me Xanax. So, who prescribes it and why did my last one prescribe it for me? She also said that I seemed as though I was going through xanax withdrawal. It was quite funny, seeing as I haven't taken any since OCTOBER.

She was a complete idiot.

Sleep is literally non existent. Isn't a good night's rest one of the most important things needed for proper mental function? The beds are horrible. It feels like you're sleeping on concrete. The overnight staff act as though it's social hour and loudly talk, laugh, and slam doors all night long. I was there 5 days and maybe managed to get about 10 or so hours of sleep. By the time I left, I felt WORSE than when I arrived. Mainly due to exhaustion!

There's multiple areas throughout the unit to have outdoor time, yet it is non-existent. I began to feel so claustrophobic and anxious.

Every day questions of how I was feeling turned into a lie just so I could escape.

If you're hoping to gain help for your depression, anxiety, or suicidal tendencies, this is NOT the place for you.

Out patient program is great, but inpatient program sucks because they lock the bedroom doors except for 1 hour that you can go and lie down. They want to keep everyone together in the day room because the techs or whatever they are called are to lazy to walk around to check on everyone. I hope I never have to go there again. They need to have more groups there as well. I think the patients should have a right to go lie down when they want to and the nurses didn't do me any good when I was sick from a UTI.

I wish I could leave no stars. Had to bring my child here after a stay at another institute (which we liked) for outpatient counseling. It was awful. They did not bother to suggest a psychologist or psychiatrist even for diagnostic purposes (I did ask for a referral, but was never given one; was told they were being seen by their psychologist, which was bunk). My child was simply treated as someone who "wanted attention" and was trying to "one up" the other patients. In fact, I was told this to my face. This same thing was said by counselors about teen patients in front of other teen patients. A week before they would have been released from PHP (partial hospitalization, what they call daily outpatient counseling), my child had a breakdown (thanks to the counselor saying derogatory things in front of them) and ended up inpatient at Willowbrook. It was horrible. It was run like a jail; visiting day felt like I was going in to visit a convict instead of my child. My teen called at night, terrified and horrified by how the other patients were being treated. My child backslid very quickly, and when they were finally released we went straight to the other institute. After that stay, my child was finally diagnosed with Schizoaffective Disorder. They've made much more progress with a good psychotherapist and a good psychiatrist than they ever made at Willowbrook. If you need emergency stabilization for psychiatric issues, I would not recommend Willowbrook. There are other, better places with much more caring staff who have more safeguards in place and are willing to keep parents and caregivers informed.

Plays around to much and flirts with docs not very professional. I wouldn't suggest this place to anyone all the docs act like vets.
