Great room and service from front desk. Was disappointed that food from room service was only available until 10pm. Big bathroom with a big shower and plenty of space in the rest of the room. Staff is very knowledgeable about local places and events. The pool and pool area are modern and comfortable.

Huge apartment, 3 suites, in front of the beach, clean and well decorated. Far from city centre but close enough to the supermarket. Decent price. Good for families.
Enjoyed our villa and townhouse here on two separate occasions. Love how close everything is to the beach. Wonderful amenities like a gym, tons of trails, bike rentals and shops to eat and drink at on the resort.
The location is great. The isle of palms and the respective beaches are wonderful. The resort is nice with excellent large rooms and patios (at least at the villages). The one bummer is that the place is unusually spread out and food is difficult to find other than the hotel option. Rooms can be quite pricey in the summer but a decent deal in the shoulder months. It is mixed in with a gated community. You won't want for amenities.
Location is wonderful, staff is excellent. So many things to do (golf, tennis, beach, bikes, etc). Family of 5 had an amazing time and can't wait to come back again.
I have been terribly disappointed with my stay at Wild Dunes. I had been looking forward to this trip, but am leaving very unimpressed with the service of Wild Dunes.
We just finished a week family vacation to Wild Dunes and stayed at the Village, which I would describe more like a condo (full kitchen, two bath) than a hotel. We were so excited to have a little beach vacation during COVID with our two young kids, but definitely be aware things are different which made it even less like a hotel and resort. We were also just a little disappointed in the resort overall. I wouldn t describe it as luxury and think it s closer to 3 stars.
Pros: - Very nicely stocked full kitchen with very nice appliances; - Beaches were gorgeous and not too crowded; - Incredibly convenient location - close to the grocery and we had some incredible meals on IOP and Sullivan s, as well as enjoyed driving in to Charleston; - Amazing water pressure in the bathrooms!
Cons: - Our room was worn and not sparkling clean - stains on the furniture (I had to cover it with blankets), filthy rug I put up in the closet, hard beds with flimsy sheets and blankets that had pilling, and our room faintly smelled of smoke when we arrived with cigarette burns on the outdoor furniture; - CONSTRUCTION! when I booked, I was told there was construction next door but we wouldn t see it from our room and it wasn t loud, it was finished outside and they were finishing up the inside (well, we were right next door with construction views and it was loud, preventing us from napping mid day); - COVID precautions prevent daily House keeping, room service and all of the restaurants near the village are closed on the plaza except for a grab and go market place...so close convenient dining and the hotel type experience is limited; - Long walk to beach from the Village (I would not describe it as close to the beach!); - maybe they are under staffed or it was after July 4th but the grounds of the resort were dirty...lots of trash littered on the beach and pathways to the beach.
Overall, we made the most of it and enjoyed our pandemic vacation! We thought about changing resorts but with two toddlers and no bell hop service available it seemed to exhausting and our kids were just excited to play at the beach. I do not think we will be returning though.
The Boardwalk homes are really nice and provide a great level of convenience and comfort while staying at Wild Dunes. The transportation service is a really nice touch for hotel guests. The villages are nice, but could use some updated plunking as I have had an issue with water temperature control in the shower on two separate visits. All in all, Wild Dunes Resort is a nice place to vacation.
Great place to stay, beautiful area, wonderful staff. I visited several different places during my time here and am very impressed by the friendliness, helpfulness and professionalism of all I met. Thank you for a wonderful stay. I will be back.
This was my family's first stay at Wild Dunes and it could not have been any better! The suite was exquisite! I always take my own cleaning supplies along when staying away from home so I can clean the way that I like things. It was unnecessary in our suite at The Village!! Everything was perfect already! There are top notch amenities and plenty to do without ever leaving the property. The staff throughout resort were kind and helpful. The property is also very secure, which is import to me. We will stay here again and again.
The sun and sand never rest here! My family has been coming to Wild Dunes for over 15 years and we keep coming back. It has everything you could ask for - workout facilities, restaurants, shopping, and of course, the beach!
Lovely resort, beautiful views and awesome beach. Rooms are nice, the restaurants are good, overall relaxing place. We will definitely visit again. Price is a little high but if you catch a discounted rate it helps!
Beautiful resort with a lot of sport facilities. Good rooms and restaurants. We had dinner at the Grand Pavilion and afterwards walking on the beach to enjoy the sunset and Atlantic Ocean. In another night we transited to Goat Island on boat and enjoy a dinner with oyster, low-country boil and BBQ.
Lovely house BUT we were led to believe by houseplan shown & labeled with "elevator"on all 3 floors, that there actually was one. We discovered on arrival that it was merely an elevator shaft. (A serious problem for the handicapped.) But the worst was the unwillingness to do anything, refund anything, or even apologize. Also we were told they would call us back but never did. With 18 steps per floor this was no small problem & would have been impossible for anyone in a wheelchair.
Nice resort, close to beach, good local restaurants. If you are there a few days, definitely rent bikes - great place to ride with trails around the resort and to the beach!
Stayed during SEWE in Charleston in February, can't say anything negative. I reserved two condos and we and our guest are talking about going back. The ocean view looked out on Fort Sumter. Truly a 4 star resort and at a great price.
After arriving to check in, well after the 4 pm time, our room was still not yet available due to a "smell" issue. We were then placed in a double queen room, though we had booked a king. Staff was not very accommodating in rectifying this situation.
I understand that it is the off season but one of the restaurants had "electrical issues" one day and had no food available...staff suggested I walk to the other restaurant several minutes away. It didn't seem like any big deal to them at all.
Several staff members in guest services were either rude and talked over me when I called to ask about ordering in room dining, connecting me to a closed restaurant or hanging up the phone without so much as a goodbye or to make sure that our questions...which were few...were answered.
Luckily, the golf course was in pretty good shape and the weather wonderful. The bartenders and manager at the Salty Goat were the highlight of our stay. They provided the best service we had and the food was delicious (definitely recommend the Taco Tuesday treats).
I do not plan to return here to stay due to the confusion and attitudes of the staff.
Went to a middle school golf event at wild dunes resort harbor course, excellent facility fabulous golf course very hospitable. If you come to Charleston and want to play golf wild dunes is a great choice.
Room was nice as was the beach but seriously extremely loud construction starting at or before 730 AM is unacceptable for a resort. I would ask about construction when booking and not recommend staying here until the construction is finished unless you don't plan on sleeping in or taking a nap.
A very nice resort. Nearly all of the restaurants were closed. We almost stayed here, but glad we stayed closer to town where there were more options. The amenities looked great. We walked through to see if we'd consider staying here in the future. We're assuming that these closed places are seasonal, so we would probably stay here if we come through again. The beaches were very nice and the ambiance was peaceful.
Staff was great but everything was extremely expensive- Two small miller light draft beers came to $18.50! We loved the live music at night but were surprised that board walk bar and music shut down at 10:00pm. Being a family with small children we appreciated this but were surprised.
Such a beautiful resort. We didn't realize how big it was and how much there is to do. We stayed in one of the houses close to the pool and beach. We would definitely come back.
Horrible. Got here on August 24, poor service from the front gate and it's still continuing. Power was out for 4 hours and no back up plan such as generators to help this situation. Finally got into the room at 8 pm. No complimentary anything for the hours missed on this once a year vacay. Get to the room, terrible smell in the room. Decided since we were already late into the room and the reception area was chaos that we better stick it out. Next day after cleaning it was even worse. Left door open for couple hours still no change. Had to move to a different room. Went to spa, very poor service there and spent $450. Breakfast was nothing more than a Hampton Inn complimentary meal w added fruits which were delicious but then the bill for this was $60 for 2 people. I am totally disappointed in this stay. The only thing I can say is that this is definitely not a 4 star hotel. I would say maybe 2-3. I will not be returning ever again.
