With hurricane Florence coming this week I tried to get a reschedule of my sons honeymoon trip I purchased they refused and would not issue a refund or reschedule. This is ludicrous to try to arrive and then get evacuated and have to fight traffic to get back home. No wonder there are so many issues with evaluating places like this when greed takes over. No more trips for me to Wild Dunes.

Stayed the night at boardwalk inn. The room was luxurious spacious with a wonderful view. Large bathroom and shower, sitting area and lots of little extras. Only wish we had time to explore the area more. We could hear the neighbouring room when they ran the shower and there is no microwave in the room. But everything else was amazing!

This is the nicest resort in Myrtle Beach. There is a Ruth's Chris Steakhouse connected to the resort, along with a marina on the intracoastal waterway for charter fishing! If you want a romantic getaway this is the place, or fishing and golfing trip, this is the place...if you come to Myrtle Beach, this is the place to stay and play!

The room was nice, the amenities are great, and the staff was friendly. HOWEVER we booked through a third party site and there was absolutely NO MENTION of the $36/day "resort fee" in the description until we checked in. Pretty deceptive to make it look like it was less expensive than it is. I would have been happy with it had we not been lied to and the full price was advertised. I will not be staying here again and will absolutely not recommend it to anyone I know going to that area.

Decent rooms nothing to brag about just roomy and clean. Have to admit it has a lot of amenities to offer and the staff is abundant and on point. Valet parking was nice and complimentary. On the other side of things. Food and drinks were a little pricey. I literary payed less for steak dinners at longhorns than I did for burger baskets at the resort. Also stupid fees attached to things that are normally free at other resorts. An example of this are the towel cards for the pools. (They are needed to get a clean towel) If the cards are missing from the room at checkout they charge 15 dollars per card. So don t misplace the cards. Oh and water bottles in your room with 5 dollar price tags attached to them. Yeah right??? Not for me. Lol

Clean with friendly people. No rooms so stayed in condo only to find out there were no offered food or delivery and the promised beach access was boarded off! And instead of the sound of waves, each night we fell asleep to the sound of construction. Not likely to stay in the future....

the proximity to the beach was great, and the staff was nice, 2 negatives were the prices and our first room had mold on the ceiling. The food and drinks were very expensive and not very good. We switched rooms because our first room had mold on the ceiling and finding a manager to speak to was impossible, they kept sending housekeeping and bellhop staff to try and fix it. The resort is 25 years old and needs some up-keep. Not worth the 300+ per night.

My husband and I just stayed at the Wild Dunes Resort this past weekend and the stay was good, but nothing to rave about. Before booking, I called the resort to see what was open (since we are in the midst of this pandemic). They told me that the beach is open, one restaurant on property and one pool. This was great news. I booked almost immediately, though the room seemed to be a bit pricy for one night- I figured it would be worth it. When we arrived at 11am our room was ready although check-in wasn't until 4:00pm, so that was a plus. We dropped our stuff off and went to the beach. We were in the Village and there was construction right outside our window but they didn't seem to be working, so even though it was an eye-sore, the room was nice and it didn't bother us much.

But, then I called the front desk to see what pool was open that they previously mentioned over the phone...they said none of the pools were open yet. When I asked where the restaurant was on property that was open, they said none of the restaurants were open on property. When we had no other choice but to get ready and venture into town, we discovered there was no hot water. So cold showers were not exactly thrilling. It took about an hour and a half for them to come to our room to "fix" the issue.

After we left, I checked my bank account to make sure I was appropriately charged. To my surprise, there was 14% tax that was excluded, 16% resort fee that was excluded and a destination fee that was excluded. I read the reviews and was concerned about this but when purchasing the room, it seemed clear that my total cost included those things. Our one night stay at a resort that had nothing but a public beach was over $250!

At this rate I would of rather pitched a tent and slept on the beach. We will not be returning. Don't waste your money.

Everything was perfect. Every detail was thought of in our stay and everything we asked for was done above what we expected. This is one of the most beautiful resorts I have ever visited. The live band at the ocean front bar was amazing.

This is for the management,of the Ocean Front Bar and food on the pier. DJ was good Saturday night.
The Food sucks! Prefrozen. Very disappointed. With this atmosphere and at this price. Really?!
Embarrassing.
Won't be back.,points to operations, leadership, not staff.

Don't get me wrong Wild Dunes is a nice place, but there have always problems when we go. It's gorgeous here. The staff is always wonderful and accommodating. Unfortunately, we always have things like the condo phone not working. A tub drain not functioning. The hot water not working, etc.

I was on a business trip & visited the resort for the golf courses. I was pleased with both the Harbor & Link's courses. The staff was friendly & carried themselves in a very professional manner.

Awesome place to vacation with your family. I have been coming to Wild Dunes for the past 7 years during the summer. The staff is excellent and the rooms are clean. The amenities are outstanding at the resort. Highly recommend for your next family, golf, tennis vacation.

We have stayed at the Wild Dunes Resort for many years and we love it! We like to stay in one of the Ocean Point homes which has a beautiful pool & spa as well as great beach access. Wild Dunes is a wonderful community and we especially enjoy the resort amenities. Our favorite thing to do is bike as a family. The bike path is well maintained and makes for a lovely ride. We like biking to Hudson's market (near the hotel) for ice coffees, snacks and lunch. Live music, family bingo, movie night, kids activities/camps, golf, tennis, yoga, basketball court, great pools, fitness center and spa! There are many fabulous nearby restaurants...ask the locals! A couple favorites are Morgan Creek Grill, Poe's Tavern & Hometeam BBQ. We also like Duney's ice cream shop near the hotel and playing checkers in the hotel lobby.

Service was all round great. We stayed this past Friday night to Monday morning. When we arrived our AC unit in our three bedroom condo was frozen and not working and the condo was about 90. They worked diligently to correct it. Maybe not as fast as we wanted but they were on it with a contractor. It was fixed by the time we returned from dinner and no other issues. Didn t have to move and they gave us food and beverage credit.

They respond to calls or texts so quick and always informative and willing to send whatever you need out quickly.

Pool service was great. Will was our guy for two days. Always kept us fed and hydrated when we weren t at the beach. Thanks again Will!!

The condo was great. King, queen, twin with three bathrooms. Updated and clean. Nice kitchen, dining area, living room and another small room off to the side. Porch was great for hanging out as well.

All round great trip. I d book again and for longer.

We will not consider you next time due to the one night stay penalty that you imposed on us knowing that South Carolina will be on the dirty side of the storm and will get quite a bit of rain. The storm model also predicts a good chance that Dorian will hug the coastline and potentially cause flooding. The employee that I talked to stated that as a local, we just expect it to blow through . I m from Galveston, Texas and we ve definitely experienced our share of storms. One thing that is certain, they are very unpredictable. I love Charleston and I ll definitely be back, I ll just be staying somewhere else.

Expected more because of higher priced rooms but my stay seemed lacking of even simple amenities such as free morning coffee. You are paying for the resort name and missing the "little extras" that other places do for their guests.

Wild Dunes is a great place for families to get away and enjoy the beach without fighting the public beach crowds. The facilities offered here make very easy to not have to leave the resort and the staff have always been top notch in service in the ten years we've been going. Since it is right outside of Charleston,. If you are looking for for something more, you're a quick jump away. Rooms have always been a home away from home with great amenities. There is enough pools around if swimming in the ocean isn't your thing.

This resort has everything you would want when coming to the beach. There are restaurants, a little convenience store, spa, gym, 2 golf courses, 2 adult pools, 3 kid friendly pools, live music, tennis, bike rentals, chair and umbrella rentals, and many other necessities. Just a 30 minute drive to downtown Charleston. Overall, might be the best resort in the Carolinas!

Use to be a phenomenal place until it was destroyed by a major hurricane and then became a cruise ship on land! However, great golf at the somewhat newly refurbed Links Course. It's unfortunate that they're having issues with constant beach erosion along the famous 17th and 18th holes. Perhaps the two best finishing holes along the southeastern coast. The resort is fortunate to have a very talented maintenance staff there and it shows! This course is manicured but slightly scruffy and somewhat unkept around the edges. In my opinion, the way a real golf course should be. Kinda like when you see a very beautiful woman who was out late the night before! It offers many native slopes and elevation changes which is a rare trait for eastern seaboard golf. It's one of a kind and arguably one of Tom Fazio's greatest achievements. It's a must if you've never had the privilege of playing it! The Harbor Course is the red headed step child of the two but still offers really good golf and depending on the time of year, at a very affordable price. Hopefully one day, they'll perform a long overdo refurb to this course which is a completely different track than the big brother Links Course and much different than it was prior to Hurricane Hugo in 1989, only four years after construction. If you had the opportunity to play this course between late summer of 1985 and late September of 1989 then consider yourself lucky. It was a player friendly but amazing golf course in essentially perfect condition! But over the years, the many artificial mounding and peaked features of this course offers another huge challenge to the list for their talented maintenance staff. Especially in terms of cultivation and pesticide application practices. These areas are in need of regrading to soften some of those slopes and features. This coupled with many infrastructure upgrade needs, tee box complex enlarging and of course, greens reconstruction certainly warrants closure and a big facelift and quadruple bypass. The golf course itself is certainly good enough to validate a big investment from the powers that be at Wild Dunes and their parent company. Hopefully one day!

They don't allow motorcycles, had to park outside the property and walk a mile. Not allowing their guests to ride their motorcycle when at the beach vacationing is downright unAmerican!!! They wouldn't even give me a ride to Villages in their golf cart I had to walk there lol.

The rooms and guest service will fit your needs in my opinion very nicely. Although some restaurants like Huey's and Billy G's need improvements, the resort is a viable option for when you plan to visit the city of Charleston.

Great place to vacation, beautiful beaches and location. Staff is over the top to accommodate any needs you may have, beautiful rooms in the hotel with great views of the pool and beach homes, easy access to the beach. Plenty of pools and restaurants, try the Salty Goat for fantastic handcrafted cocktails.

I have loved my visits to Wild Dunes! The beaches, pools, boardwalks, spas, food, and other amenities are the best of the best. It is situated about 30 minutes away from downtown Charleston, and very close to a lot of cute "mom and pop" type restaurants! There is plenty to do, and it is one of my favorite destinations!

Horrible. Not worth the money. At check in they took my card for a $190 deposit and I was gonna get the total back if everything went good. At check out they charged me $109 for resort fee. Something they never mentioned at checked in. Room service never came to clean my room. Not many amenities to be charged that amount plus the hotel fee that was ridicules high. Didn't even look like a resort at all. Rooms and bathroom's were outdated. Rooms are pretty but needs updates. Shower head needs to be fixed. Hardly water came out and when it cones out it spread all over the floor cuz the shower curtain didn't cover the shower good enough. Bathroom's around the "resort" outdated and hot. No windows or AC in the bathrooms.

I have always enjoyed my stays at Hyatt properties in Savannah and Charleston. Never a concern until my stay this past weekend at the Wild Dunes Resort. I called and booked the same suite same as the one I booked for my 50th, only one floor down. No hesitation regarding cost for pool and ocean view. My friend and I were using this time to wind down after some concerning medical news. As a consumer and nurse, I personally made sure COVID testing was done and results received. As suggested, I phoned the resort on Wednesday for any updates, amenities or services that would be limited. After the phone called I then proceeded to respond via text. We booked our flight and were excited to exhale. Not one time, until the day of arrival, did anyone mention my reservations had been changed. We we placed in a suite not to my liking with a view of a building on the first floor. When I contacted the office I was passed around from person to person, each with a different explanation. One said there was an ocean view available, but not pool, then they were not using that part of the hotel, then it was the room was booked. But for the fact my companion was recovering from a procedure and was tired, I would have left. In turn we opted to stay at a condo which they called an upgrade. NOT. There wifi was sporadic. We could not make or receive calls or text unless we went outside and down stairs therefore making it impossible to continue to respond to any urgent work correspondence. The final straw was finding blood on the toilet paper holder in the second bathroom.
What a huge let down. We definitely did not get the quality we expected or paid for. Photos to follow.
