We had to call an emergency plumber because of the pipes broke down in our kitchen. He arrived earlier and explained to us all the procedures he was going to take. Unfortunately he couldn't buy the part to permanently fix it, but he managed to fix the pipes with his materials leaving us with the possibility to use the sink/washing machine in a couple of hours. Really professional and polite, super recommended!

Do not use this company. I used them for an Electrical Safety Certificate and they tried to charge mefor things thatdidn't need doing (over 1000pounds extra) .I got an honest company to do the job and paid one third of the charges. When Iquestioned why theywere asking me to dothings that werenot within myflat (their engineer went into the Freeholders cupboard whichis outside my flat and said would not giveme a certificate unless the Freeholder did workswith him, luckily the Freeholder had a valid NICEIC ). When I confronted them they were rude and unhelpful. They wasted so much of my time just to try and overcharge me. Worst company EVER!!!! The engineers cancelled last munute the first tim and then was late fr the second scheduled appointment. In addition the engineer they sent round was rude to my tenants and told them the flat was dangerous when all that was required forthe NICEIC was an up to dat consumer unit which someone did and past the certificate for 500 pounds when VHL where asking for 1600 pounds. Complete rip off.

I told them I want an immediate refund their response it will take up to 3-5 working days. I said this was unacceptable as I ve paid for work that hasn t been carried out as yet and your company is not able to do the work. They refused to give me my money straight away and said I will get it 3-5 working days.
It has now been 6 working days and I still have not received my money from them. This company is now saying I willl have to wait another 3-5 working days which it s terrible and not fair.
They are a scam do not trust them. Everyday I have been calling to speak to the manager and all I get is from the receptionist is that he is in a meeting or on the phone.

While I'd like to provide a higher rating, I am unable to do so due to the pressurization unit being installed insufficiently at our office. That and the subpar customer service. When we reached out to have the issue addressed, a tech was sent in which we were then given the runaround with VHL routing our issue to the manufacturer causing further delays. Once the manufacturer arrived on site, it was clear that VHL had done a faulty job in initially installing the equipment, which of course led to more time getting the until fixed properly. We also had issues with getting someone to speak to on the phone. The majority of the calls made we were told no one was available. Phone calls and emails were not followed up with having us spend time tracking someone down. It's unfortunate, as I would have hoped for a better experience with this company. Instead, it was quite time consuming when the process could have been much more streamlined.

Of all the service providers I had contact VHL were able to offer me an on the day inspection and fix without over charging me for the service. Engineer who came to do the initial quote for a new boiler installation was overall good. Unfortunately everything since then has been absolutely appalling. Multiple incorrect details on quotes over multiple occasions, provided false/misleading information, some work e.g. power flush was initially included but later descoped or charged extra. Boiler installation dates and assigned engineers changed multiple times. Didn't show up on confirmed installation date.
Old boiler was then discarded on the streets and extra holes left in my walls (only attended to after I chased up repeatedly). Engineers didn't sign off on Benchmark Report and didn't finish commissioning the boiler. Didn't seem to understand how to correctly configure the Vaillant EcoTec boiler with little to no understanding of eBus vs OpenTherm controls and the importance that has to boiler modulation. Also very little understanding on how to balance the system correctly with complete disregard on configuring the boiler to operate at optimal efficiency.

My reservations about the company is their failure to be clear about their pricing in the initial phone conversation, so where I thought I was getting a good quote, turned in to me being charged more than I budgeted for at the end of the day and the job literally just consisted of tightening of a few nuts and bolts to stop a leak and re-filling/re-pressurizing the heating system.

After many years of being lumbered with this lot because of Genesis I think minus 5 stars is appropriate. Once they illegally capped my gas meter at x-mas. I had been on holiday when they wanted to do the safety test. I returned to freezing home and got very ill as a direct result. VHL denied doing it and ignored most communications totally. Some of the "engineers" they have sent were clearly unfit for purpose. Today I had to call the police to throw one of their engineers out of my house, hence this review.
When I was not looking he went to his van for ages without saying a word, left all doors open and Anybody could have walked in from the street to steal anything they liked without anyone knowing. Then I realised that against what had been arranged with a previous VHL engineer he had fitted a cheap digital heating controller. It does not allow individual control over heating and hot water.

It can be really difficult getting half decent service from some trades but for me at least Village Heating did all the basics very efficiently. They answer the phone (take nothing for granted!), they call back promptly, the appointment window was two hours (not four), emails got a reply, and both jobs were done professionally, for a reasonable price. Our boiler stopped working on Thursday - no hot water nor heating. Having had a local plumber in the morning told us what was defective but let us know that he could not be sure of finding the parts. Hence, I contacted VHL. It was so confident in being able to source the parts because they have so many different suppliers that I decided to book an appointment for Thursday evening fully expecting the repairs to be finished on Friday. The plumber to be fair was friendly and professional and of course confirmed the same diagnosis. He wrote his report and fed it back to the VHL office. Come Friday morning I called to find out what the situation was and guess what: it was unable to source the parts immediately and let me know that it would take at least FIVE days.
This blatant overselling where I have been reassured that it would find the parts is just plain disgusting and unacceptable. We have wasted more money by paying it's plumber to come out. I would call it more the Village idiots instead of Village Heating. My advice avoid this company that cannot deliver.

The booking process was a nightmare. Got through in the phone quickly but there was so much background noise the girl on the other end could barely understand me. Explained I needed an electrician to fit a tado boiler programmer and got one booked in for 2 days time. Ok so far.
Appointment booked for 3pm so I had time to sleep after my night shift. Got a text at 1240 saying engineer will be there at 13:04. Called and confirmed new timing as I'd been woken up. Then get another text saying he'll be another hour.
Eventually arrives and I'm told he's booked for a boiler breakdown and has no electric experience. Fuming!
That said 2 hours and various phone calls to the manufacturers later and he's installed the programmer and it seems to work fine. Haven't been asked for more money but wont pay any more anyway as it should have been a half hour job.

On the other hand, I've had a lot of trouble with the service. The initial appointment started a little over an hour late with no update to let me know there were delays until I called up myself. When the engineer wasnt able to get hold of the part needed, we paid for this and its fitting upfront over the phone and expected to be called once it had been acquired to arrange a follow up. Instead, I got an email on the Thursday to say I was booked in for Friday at midday. As this isnt at a property I live in, my partner agreed to go to the property for the appointment as I was too busy at work. I got a text at 11.15 saying the engineer was on his way. At 1.30, I called VHL to ask where he was and was told he had been delayed and would be at the property within an hour. At 3pm, I called again as he still hadnt arrived and was told they would give me a call back in 5 minutes with an update. At 4pm, having not heard back, I called again and was then informed that they hadnt been able to get hold of the part required so would have to cancel- this being 4 hours after the time they were due and only after i called for updates. During this period I had multiple automated emails assuring me that the engineer was on his way. I rebooked to get the part fitted again, the following Thursday at 10am. I called them at 11am to find out where he was and was told definitely in under an hour. Engineer arrived at quarter past 12 (after another follow up phone call from me) - as above, hes been pleasant and helpful.
Significant improvement needed on the customer service as I shouldn't have to be chasing and calling to find out about delays to my appointment, nor should it have taken 4 hours after my appointment start time to tell me that they did not have the part needed. As we dont live at the property, it has meant significant time wasted while we should be working.

Have been using VHL for many years and had my boiler installed by them too. I will strongly recommend VHL for their reliability, punctuality, professional and courteous engineers. In particular their experienced engineer Nathan who is brilliant, competent and cheerful. I'd especially like to mention Malika Khan at VHL office too, who is extremely efficient and ensures the transition from booking to end of job carried out is smooth and hassle-free!
