Hell no the owner is crazy a need better manners & customer service. I don t recommend this place to anyone especially of color. Sad how business owners think they can talk & treat people like garbage.

Vino Garage is an awesome shop! There is a variety of bear and wine selections you may not find elsewhere in Columbia, SC. Doug has been kind and extra helpful on multiple occasions; he's even ordered a specialty beer my husband was looking for that he didn't have in stock, he then emailed us when it was in.
We've attended a few wine tasting events here and enjoy the local vibe. It's got a "big city" selection with a "small town" feel and great customer service.
Vino Garage should be on your To-Do list for Columbia.

I should have written this review ages ago, because Vino Garage was great upon our first visit and has only become more endearing. If you appreciate good beer and wine, and like buying local, then this place has all you need!

The owner, Doug, is a great guide in his store. He always makes great pairing suggestions for all of our random meal/taste inquiries. He genuinely takes interest in his customers' preferences/needs. Inventory is always changing, and the range of price points are extremely reasonable and accommodating to any level of wine/beer enthusiast--from the unsophisticated palate (like us!) to the connoisseur.

For those of you who think you prefer driving to Harbison for big box package stores, I'll be succinct: Vino has a welcoming, simple, unpretentious atmosphere. It's a convenient location for the downtown and Earlewood/Elmwood/NOMA areas, with good hours, and frequent tasting events. The store is always clean and parking/traffic is no problem. Customer service is always fantastic. Affordable prices and lots of options. A much better experience and less hassle overall than going to Green's or Total Wine.

Truly, if you haven't given Vino a try yet, you should!

This is a great place to buy wine or craft beer in Columbia. The shop offers a well-curated selection of reasonably priced mid-tier wines and beers. This is not a beverage warehouse, but there is a good selection of quality wines. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. They offer monthly beer and wine tastings.

I am a professional in the wine industry and I have been bragging about this place and their selection- extremely approachable and affordable wines if you're looking for an interesting bottle and not spending a fortune this is the place. Girlfriend said, "I wish we had a vino garage in Napa".

The guy who runs (owns?) this place is great. I've never been disappointed by any of his suggestions. The selection here is excellent as well. I always see beer/wine in there that I haven't seen anywhere else (or even heard of, sometimes).

If you're looking to buy quality beer/wine at a fair price, this is the place to go (especially for beer you may not find in any other stores). It doesn't hurt that the guy who runs the place usually laughs at my bad jokes and keeps the place very clean, as well ;)

I had had a long day and decided to check out this wine shop and see if they carried a certain wine I like. A man asked to help me, which was nice, but when I told him the wine I was looking for he laughed in my face and told me they would only carry that wine ironically and to check out a gas station down the road. I know that my wine tastes aren't refined, but I didn't expect to be mocked for asking. I will be checking out other stores for my wine needs in the future. I'm sure this is a lovely wine store with a good selection of wines, but I wound up feeling embarrassed and foolish trying to shop here.

Love Vino Garage! It is walking distance to my house and it's a fantastic locally owned shop. Doug, the owner, is friendly and knowledgable. The wine and beer selection is great. I always find something new to try without breaking the bank! Happy to have this gem in my neighborhood.

I love the Vino Garage, the selection is excellent for a smallish store. The staff is knowledgeable and helpful. The store is actually in an old garage and has an eclectic feel without being pretentious. Also convenient to the Cottontown, Elmwood and Earlewood Park neighborhoods.

Great place to drop in and get your favorite beer or wine. Those who especially don't like the big box stores will love the atmosphere and personalized service. Me and my girlfriend also enjoy going to their beer and wine tasting.
